I was told they would take care of me. Last week I was hit by another vehicle. I filed my claims with uber and hertz. I was told by both uber and hertz to return the vehicle to the location where I would be given a replacement vehicle so I could continue driving. When I arrived at the location I was told they will not give me another car despite a not at fault accident and 15 weeks of extending my rental and paying for the CDW and both Uber and Hertz claims departments telling me they would replace it. Besides this the employees are extremely rude, never answer the phone and offer no solutions for people. They are happy to just take your money every week and then screw you over when something happens. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY WITH THIS STORE!!! read more

Came back later (2 lyft rides now) and now they don't have a car for my reservation? As a Uber driver, this is the worst experience I have ever had. I made a reservation for 1pm. I left my fulltime job at 12:30 for lunch. When I arrived there were 10 people in the office. I noticed there was only 2 people working in the office. People are here for returns, problems with rentals and pickups. You are required to scan a QR code to check in. There are only 2 locations in Phoenix area that handles Uber rentals, Mesa and North Phoenix. Around 3pm, the young lady tells me that they may or may not have a car for me. The ladies here are working very hard but the system SUCKS! Uber and Hertz are fucking people over. If you have issues with your rental you have to take the car to a repair shop to get it fixed, (downtime). As much money you have to pay to rent a vehicle, complete mandatory 30 rides in a week, pay extra for coverage and then be told that you can't exchange is outrageous. I have driven for Uber for 5 years, it's my first time using the rental option and I am totally dissatisfied. For 2 major companies, highly profitable making so much money off the backs of hard working people trying to keep food on their tables and roof over their heads is disgusting. This should be a streamlined process. No one should have to wait 4 hours to get a reserved vehicle. I never thought I would find a process Worst than the Motor Vehicle Department. Just heard that they don't have any gas rentals, EV only. As I write this review, I'm still waiting and hoping that they have a vehicle. So, the other scam in this process is they only have EV cars and of course its more Money....Luckily, another person did not have enough money to get the last gas car, so i got his..This process is Horrible. I had the pleasure of renting a vehicle from this location. During the time of my rental I had some issues with my car (maintenance) and with my contract, but thanks to the manager of this location whose name is Mason made everything stress free for me. I believe Mason is an asset to Hertz, because of his professionalism and all of the knowledge that he has. I use Hertz all of the time, but my experience isn't always a positive one with Hertz nationwide. Mason made me a lifetime customer to his location. This was the absolute service I have ever, I mean ever encountered. 2 people working the counter and they were only able to get 5 cars out where as enterprise, Alamo, and national all with the same number of people got 40+ people their cars. Each agent were in their phones making calls to corporate to figure out what to do. This was ridiculous to top it all off gold members, that weren't gold members, I asked each of them, were allowed to continue while I waited in line as directed. Never again at hertz. So I had to use this site for my rental while getting my car repaired during the pandemic. When I received the rental all was great and they practiced social distancing and were overall pretty clean. When I received the car, they told me to return it with as much gas as was in the car, and that I could leave it at the repair shop. After filling up the car to a higher than received gas level, i discovered a surprise bill for gas. I called the office twice and expected a call back from their management but received no follow up over the past 3 days now. I think the level of unprofessionalism is what prompts my one star review, especially when the charge given to me would indicate that they filled the car back to full. This was my first time getting a rental from hertz from this location. I needed a rental because I had to drop my vehicle at the local auto body shop for repair. Lewis picked me up from the shop. Manny helped me to setup the rental through my insurance to pay for the rental and the rest out of pocket since I picked a premium vehicle. On that Friday, I met Lewis again so that I could finally return the car so that I can just get something more cost efficient since I did not want to fork over more money as my insurance would not cover the remainder. I told Lewis my dilemma and he found some options. However, I truly enjoyed the premium vehicle but could not stand to pay more money for an additional 4 days. Daniel (manager) came over after hearing our conversation and was courteous enough to provide a better rate since I needed the vehicle for a few more days than was anticipated. I found that Lewis, Daniel and Manny were very helpful. I especially appreciated Lewis for his last minute assistance after I dropped off the rental. read more

Basically, I made a reservation for a full size car and had a confirmed itinerary and price. I showed up on time and was told they had sold out of cars, but I could l could pay an additional $40 a day and get a small SUV. After some discussion I was offered a small compact economy vehicle or pay extra to upgrade. That's a bait and switch. When I insisted on getting a comparable vehicle for the price in my reservation. He said he didn't have to honor and reservation. Said "we're sold out" and pushed me out the door and closed down. I was stranded on christmas eve with my seven year old daughter. Very disappointing in my experience with this location. Got into an accident on a Friday night, set up my rental through my insurance company with this location, also received a call from Hertz too confirm it, telling me to call the location Saturday morning and set up a time to get picked up and finish the rental process. I call Saturday morning talk to someone who tells me he's not in the office and he'll call me back in 10-15 mins. No call.. my wife calls and he says the same thing. No call back. She calls a different location and her name is taken down along with her number. No call back. Now mind you we're in the process of moving so I call back early afternoon only to get a recording that they closed at noon, no call from either locations. The following day I cancelled our reservation and went with Enterprise. To this day still haven't heard from any one from Hertz. I will not be going back or doing any future business with them. This is the worst experience I've ever had renting a car. In early August I set up a reservation for September 19th at 9am. I was taking my mother to Disneyland for her birthday and to make sure everything went smoothly we made our reservation well over a month in advance. We get there that morning and we're told that there are no cars available. When you pay for a service a month in advance, it's not unreasonable to expect that service to be provided. If you can't, for some reason, provide that service then the customer should be refunded their money right? Apparently they can't refund your money there so you have to call their corporate office. We called them and we were given the run around saying they couldn't refund our money for 7-10 days and if we wanted to rent a car at another location we would have to pay again. There was no attempt to make this situation better or easier for us. Luckily, the good folks at the Enterprise on Rural and Baseline don't share this location's incompetence nor complete lack of customer service and had a car ready for us upon walking in. Also, it's been over 10 days and our refund still hasn't been processed. If you like getting what you paid for, good costumer service and just basic competency this isn't the place to go. read more

I rented a car with Hertz recently and returned the vehicle. My bill was paid in full and satisfied by the company as such. My problem is this. They have pre-authorized three payments and will not remove them saying that these pre-authorizations do not appear on their system. Really? Then where do they appear? Every day since inception of my rental these charges have appeared. My bank cannot delete the pre-authorizations as they have not been actually charged yet. Only Hertz can do this but they will not. Whatever you do, DO NOT GO TO THIS HERTZ. I can not strain this enough. In short, this Hertz was the closest to my shop, so I ended up going through them with my insurance company since my car was in the shop. The driver who picked me up was nice, and ended up being the main person who was doing the paperwork. However he was new, which is totally cool, but didn't know a lot of answers to my questions. Then the unthinkable happens. I am talking to this agent on getting the rental, I was curious about price so I asked him however he didn't know. So he got his manager, and his manager proceeds to tell me that I need to pay something like $430 for the car for the week, even though my insurance covers 80% percent of cost, not to mention how high that cost would be if they were covering 80%. So I explained to the manager that there is absolutely no way that can be right as even on their website without any insurance help the car would've been around $100 to rent. The manager tells the agent that I'm working with to just get to the last page and then we will have an accurate price. Turns out my rental was only $20 for the entire week! Crazy how huge of a difference that is, and how I would've been charged an enormous price. I even confronted the manager about this practice but he just blew me off and didn't even offer an apology. As if that wasn't bad, the car that they tried to put me in was a dark brown car, with rust damage, curb rash, multiple dents, and even the fender was falling off the car! When I asked my agent about this he just brushed it off and said that he would mark it in the damage book, but that it's fine. However insurance or not I don't want to be driving a literal piece of poo around. I got in the car, looked on yelp and found the closest one with higher ratings, and they were able to switch me out into a upgraded one for no extra cost to me. There are TONS of Hertz in the valley, DO NOT go to this one as they will attempt to rip you off, or just have no clue on what they are even talking about. When I asked to then rent another car he said they had none. Really? Not a single car? I went outside and pulled up their website and was able to rent a car for 1030. When I came back in he wouldn't help me and had someone else process the rental. Waiting on a call from the district manager. This was the worst customer service I have ever had. read more

Very unprofessional and apparently dishonest representatives at this location. I made a prior reservation, including insurance, through Hotwire.com. When I arrived to pick up the rental car, I informed the representative that insurance had already been purchased through Hotwire, but he proceeded to add their LDW coverage regardless, increasing my total cost by nearly $130. I was made to wait nearly an hour because they had the wrong mileage on the car they had planned to give me and then rushed me out the door when my wife suggested to them they rent us one of the other cars on the lot (she shouldn't have had to make the suggestion). When I eventually noticed their error with the addition of the unnecessary insurance, they refused to correct the problem. The representatives at this Main St. office give the impression of being entirely disinterested in the customer and are clearly negligent in their basic job responsibilities. This was one of the worst customer experiences I've had in a while and because of it I unfortunately won't be using Hertz again. read more

My insurance provided me with a rental car from Hertz. I didn't purchase any extra rental car protection. And I didn't pay for any extra gas for a full tank upon return. I did pay a $50 deposit which was returned to me at the return of the car. Overall, no cost for me. The guys were really chill and it was all very easy. read more
