I drove the car within CT to attend the family weekend at the Hotchkiss School. On October 18th, I received a receipt and a notification from my credit card that I was charged $150.9 for toll charges. I was very confused because I've been to Hotchkiss School many times and there are no tolls on the way from the airport. The person at the desk also confirmed when I was taking the car on Oct. 9th. And what toll charges add up to $150 in two days?! So I opened the receipt only to find that the tolls were all the way in Ohio. If any human being was even checking the record, they would see that I picked up and returned the car at the Hartford airport, and the mileage they recorded would not indicate that I drove all the way to Ohio from Connecticut, and back. But they didn't check. They didn't call me. They just charged my credit card.

The sales man, Lucio, told me to come early on Saturday morning to test drive and and buy it that day. I called the day before to make sure it was still available and they knew I was coming. I got an email from Lucio late Friday night telling me to call him. I called early in the morning on Saturday to no answer, left and message, and began my journey down to Hartford. When I got to the dealership, they informed me that they sold the car last night. These guys wasted my time AND my money.

The online listing they created did not specify that it was a "salvage rebuild" title (a previously totaled car), but they were up front about it once I got there to look it over. The salesman I worked with made every effort to appear the opposite of pushy. He was polite, and patient. One of the mechanics there stood out to me as very genuine, and offered input and advice which to all appearances, was real and intended to help me. One other mechanic I interacted with briefly, was also helpful and friendly, despite a language barrier. For the indecisive, they offer to rent the car to you, and if you buy, they count the rental fee as a payment on the car. This does have a chance to trapping the buyer into the sunk cost fallacy, but can still be a nice way to try it out before buying. The bad: The salesman was indeed a salesman, in every sense of the word. He was pressing me to sign two pieces of paper before I had decided to buy. One was an acknowledgement of the title status, which is fine. The second, though, was at the very least a letter of intent. It declared that I was going to buy the car. I hesitated at that one, and he pressed. When I still refused, he dropped the matter. We went for a nice long test drive. However, he sensed the sale slipping away, so he got more pushy. Then he made a mistake. He lied to me. He indicated to me that he would only be making a couple hundred dollars on the sale. I knew exactly how much he originally bought the car for, and what repairs he had done. Either the damage was much worse than he indicated, or his profit margin was a LOT larger than he indicated. Honesty is hard to find in this business, but that's still disappointing. However, One last good thing, after I pretty much declined the sale, the salesman still gave me a ride home. They didn't have a wide variety of cars, but they did have some Suburbans and such from which to choose. I was going to be hauling a few people around so I was "lucky" to snag a Chrysler Mini-Van. Pickup and drop-off were both pretty easy at the smaller BDL airport, and the staff was nice enough to not be memorable either way. I'd rent here again, well, because bypassing the counter is such a time-saver.

Instead of returning with my wallet, I was told that it had been left inside another vehicle that had already been rented to a customer. I was then informed that the customer would check for the wallet the following morning. Given the circumstances, I was extremely concerned because my wallet contained important personal items. After returning to my hotel, I contacted the police for assistance. Shortly after the police became involved, I received a call stating that my wallet had been located at the rental office. While I was relieved to get my wallet back, the conflicting explanations and sudden recovery left me questioning how the situation was handled. I believe there should be clearer procedures in place for securing and returning customers' lost property to prevent situations like this from occurring.

We remained locked inside while four sheriffs interrogated the passenger outside. Several passengers pounded on the windows in an attempt to intervene/for the sheriffs to come talk to us, some filmed the scene outside. Nearly fifty people confirmed again and again that the driver had been aggressively racist and hostile to this passenger who had complied with her request (and, those of us sitting next to him advised that the music wasn't very loud to begin with). Additionally, the driver had yelled at another passenger earlier for asking about whether or not there was wifi on the bus. She made an illegal U-Turn after getting momentarily lost. This is the only time I've experienced this bus line but I can say that this particular driver was completely unprofessional. **This bus company had been chartered by Peter Pan for this trip.
