We arrived at the old diner right around 12 noonish. It's 100% an old diner and it just makes you wonder what the stories you'd hear if the walls could talk. There are quite a few booths as well as bar seating. We're glad we chose the bar. Our server was upbeat, informative and knew her business. We went for the special, meatloaf with your choice of tomato sauce or brown gravy and we chose the brown gravy. It was so good. I asked if we could buy the whole loaf. They said they do sell pieces à la carte. We paired it up with french fries, and a vegetable. We also had the home made French bread toasted which had the old diner flavor and was terrific. That special came with a choice of salad or soup and we opted for the salad. And you get desert!! Small piece of strawberry short cake (angel food cake with strawberries and whipped cream), all for $12. A hit! The only thing they could improve upon was the salad. It was a small salad made from iceberg lettuce and of course we got to a few of the not so good pieces of iceberg lettuce. Can't wait to go back and try some other of their menu items. read more

Sorry, I haven't tried the food yet but the service and waiting time is ridiculou!! we have been waiting for 1hour and 35mins as of now and still don't have our food. Don't know how their kitchen system is but several families that arrived after us of 2-4people have been served and even left already. The manager is pathetic walking back and forth not helping a single employee. When we walked into Price's we were greeted by a waitress saying "make yourself at home", and I think that fully encompasses the experience of Price's. This place is clearly a labor of love and a family first establishment. The walls are covered with mementos of memories past and photos of family and frequent customers. The owner even sat with us at our booth for a short chat after our meal. Our meals were fresh and delicious and everything was super well priced - where else can two people go for breakfast and have a bill less than $30? Wanted someplace local. Found that Price's Chef fit our group's needs. The wait time was a bit much as we signed in but were later advised they were going by the sign-in sheet. Only to have 2 other groups be seated who arrived after we did. Then we were advised, they added us back onto the list they were now going by. This part of the visit was extremely off-putting and we were about to start discussing other places to go. 5 minutes later we were finally able to sit at a table. Our server Veronica, was amazing!! Just moved to town and have been trying to find our new "weekly breakfast spot". We stumbled upon Price's on a google search and decided to give it a shot, what a GEM! The service was friendly from the moment we walked in the door. We came around 11:45 on a Sunday, despite a full house, we were seated immediately. Our waitress was so kind and attentive, as were the back of house team. The menu had great variety for options and I loved the a la carte section. I could not believe how inexpensive the menu was, especially given the portions. The country fried chicken was one of the best I've had in my life!! Breakfast tacos were sizable and filling. For only $2-3 a taco, one could've filled me on its own! We also got an order of the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits were so soft and fluffy and the gravy was perfect! Whenever we go on vaca my wife loves to get fancy coffee drinks. Latte here, espresso there...after visiting corpus for 3 days I finally had enough and got the hankering for diner coffee. I wanted bacon, eggs, b&g (biscuits and gravy) and coffee . Price's is unique and has a vibe it's been there awhile. I enjoyed the service, the food, and I'd definitely come back. We've been to the restaurant numerous times over the years and visit again for the first time in 2023 on a weekday morning. Parking is limited in that 6 points area so approach from the back if possible and you may find parking close on the side. There was no wait and the food came out hot. My wife had pancakes which she said she enjoyed and I may have sampled and agreed with. The French toast left a little to be desired taste wise but they were served with grapes on top, which were actually really tasty. I way disappointed went the waiter brought them to the table and hollandaise sauce with separate. The eggs benedict is served with ham and the ham was one slice of deli meat, very displeased. There isn't space for big parties, I only saw one big table. But the service is top notch! Our waitress was very friendly and made great recommendations.
