Very slow process. I walked in, there was one man sat down and on his phone. Noone behind cash register. The automatic ordering machine was in Chinese. When i asked him, he showed me that the machine can be changed to English. Expensive, takes more than 20 min. Thats long for not a full serve establishment. Taste ok. The sauces are powders on the side. When the staff handed me the food, no thank you, no smile, no interaction at all from the second i stepped in to the second I left.

Receipt showing unauthorized tip. Poor value; expensive for what we received.

Conclusion: I won't be coming back. The chicken was decent tasting, but the value for what I received is poor. Honestly, I'd be just as happy with a meal at Popeye's at 1/3 of the cost. On top of that, I found TWO HAIRS in my food (Gross! see attached picture). Final insult: they added a $5 tip for themselves (see attached picture) that I did not notice until a couple of days later. Food: I ordered the a la carte chicken thighs, as well as the chicken sandwich, which were moist and tender. The flavors were good (i.e., original flavor that primarily consisted of light salt and pepper, I think), but it's not much different than what I would get at Popeye's or another fried chicken joint. Service: It took a little over 10 minutes to get our food, which is a bit slow, regardless of whether we're calling this fast food or quick service (not a deal breaker though). What WASN'T OKAY was the fact that 1) a $5 tip was added without my knowledge or consent, 2) TWO hairs, deep fried, were in my food, and 3) the weak customer service follow-up (i.e., apology + replaced food + 1 additional can of soda); the apology and food replacement is a given, but the sensible thing to do would be to at least not charge for the one item with the hairs; nobody cares for another can of soda. Cleanliness: I think cleanliness is generally okay at this establishment, but Hey!, I found two hairs in my food, so there's that... Value/X-Factor: Poor value, even without the unauthorized $5 tip on my credit card. I honestly think that the taste and quality of the fried chicken here is comparable to what I would find at Popeye's, but it costs 3 times more here, and based on what I ordered, there's nothing that I found that was truly distinguishable to justify the 3X cost. Other: There is no menu in the store. The only way to access their menu is via a QR Code, which is essentially this link: https://qrcode.chowbus.com/m?code=FRFbYb, or via the ordering kiosk (by the front door). The food ordering experience falls short and is actually hampered by technology (i.e., a menu that can only be accessed digitally by mobile device or via the one and only ordering kiosk, as well as an unclear in-store ordering process that unnecessarily uses an ordering kiosk, a digital ordering platform, and a cashier that can just as easily take your order, but pushes you to use the online ordering platform because there's no in-store menu). Honestly, when someone comes in to order, they just want to quickly see an easy-to-understand menu and just place the order.

Took some takeouts, the chicken sandwiches are amazing! same as the KFC taste in china. The cuttlefish whole fried chicken looks awesome, so crispy and juicy. I highly recommend Hey Chicken!

    Sad little chicken

Sad little chicken. I'm always interested in supporting local businesses so thought I'd give them a try. What I encountered was nothing short of highway robbery. You're looking at a picture of a $20 dollar "whole chicken". I would expect a whole chicken to be able to feed at least 1-2 people but when I opened the box it was just ridiculous. This is a small Cornish Hen, which I guess is technically a chicken. Worst bang for the buck ever. Tiny little thing for $20.99 to be exact. This is one of the times I wished I checked Yelp first because so many have already reported the same thing. To be fair: was it tasty? Yes it was decent. But nothing special. To spend this kind of money and to leave hungry is just a crime. And yelpers have also noted that they're slow. They're VERY slow. Two people working, one frying, one packing. Couldn't get my order in decent time. Walk in customers didn't see anybody at the counter and left. Twice. The bright side? I'm looking forward to the new restaurant to take over this space in the very near future.

    A whole chicken

A whole chicken that fits in one piece in 8"x5" box. Fancy bag to carry but prefer cost to go to chicken. Was it chicken or squab? So small. Never have we ever eaten a whole chicken in one seating (2 people). It had more batter than meat. It was a disappointing. Never to return.

I ordered their classic chicken wrap and 4 pieces of spicy wings. For about $10 for a wrap I had higher expectations. The chicken tender inside the wrap was a bit skinny and the Mayo was a bit sweet. The wings tasted better, similar to the ones you get in China. I love their logo and the bag, it's so cute! Maybe I will try their spicy chicken sandwich if I'm in the area but I probably won't drive more than 30 mins for it.

    Popcorn chicken (Szechuan)
    Janelle O.

New fried chicken place! I ordered the popcorn chicken for take out, which came in a really nice, reusable bag. I ordered my popcorn chicken in the Szechuan flavor. Looking at the packaging, it didn't look like there is a lot of chicken at first, but I actually got a lot of pieces and got super full! Overall, super good chicken, and the crisp of the batter was just amazing. I did expect the Szechuan flavor to have more kick in its spice, but it wasn't really that spicy for me. Nonetheless, I would definitely come back here again and order the popcorn chicken or maybe their other items!

Don't get the spicy chicken wrap chicken sandwich. Not worth it for the price. Very soggy and bland.

It's not an extremely long time, but you expect to be greeted and noticed when you're standing right in front of the register. My order then took about twenty minutes. I'm not upset about the wait itself, but it seemed to be because there was only one person handling everything--taking orders, cooking, and cleaning. She was clearly overwhelmed. The most frustrating part was that my order ended up being wrong. I genuinely believe it happened because the same person was trying to juggle in‑person customers and phone orders all at once. Unfortunately, the overall experience took the joy out of what should've been a simple hot‑wings craving. The food was good, but I don't think I'll be back. I want to be very clear that I do not blame the poor girl who was handling all of the request and all of the work. This is on the manager/owner for not having a restaurant appropriately staffed.

I ordered the #2 combo with the Fire Soy, and man... it was in every way possible. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and that Fire Soy sauce brought the heat and the flavor. It wasn't just spicy -- it was actually delicious. The fries were fresh, the portions were solid, and everything came out hot. Huge bonus: you can get your combo with a beer! That definitely takes the whole experience up a notch and makes it a great spot to kick back, eat some amazing hot chicken, and relax. Friendly staff, great local vibe, and seriously good food. It's a Mom pop shop with the family working every role in the restaurant. They had a bunch of to go orders lined up, and plenty of people in there. You can tell they were making each order fresh and to order. We all got different things from combination chicken rice bowls to the tender meals. The food took a while, but you can tell the girl working at the counter was doing her best given the amount of orders and the speed with which the food was coming out. My food was the last to come out, and it had been sitting on the counter for a while, and she forgot to bring it to the table. The tenders were a little soggy due to sitting in the box and steaming, but the overall flavor of the sauce and the chicken was cooked perfectly. Definitely a place to give a second try.
