Nice little coffee shop. I came for their Ube flavored items like the Ube iced latte and the Ube cinnamon roll. I would give both the iced latte and the cinnamon roll a 3/5. The Ube flavor on the latte was great, not too strong and not too subtle....just the right amount I was hoping for. The only knock I give it was that it had some pulp in it from the actual purple yam I guess? It was ok but definitely wish they filtered it out. The cinnamon roll was solid, nothing that I would run back for but satisfied my sweet tooth with a bit of the Ube flavor.

I loved everything about this place! The wall art, the coffee bar area, the coziness, the atmosphere, and especially the service! It felt so welcoming and really just made you want to stay a while and sip on your coffee.

Ordered: 12oz Purple Yam (Ube) Latte (~$4) 12oz Cortado (~$4) Ube Cinnamon Roll (~$7) Aya's take: Hey Coffee People is such an awesome spot! The vibe is super chill, the wall art is cool, and the menu has everything a typical coffee shop would have and then some! Speaking of, when I saw the Purple Yam (Ube) Latte on the menu, I knew I had to get it because I rarely see this drink as an option. On a similar note, I saw the Ube Cinnamon Roll, and I fear I had to have it knowing this is the first time I've ever seen such a wonderful creation. I also learned many of their baked goods are from Baking Mama which is also in Hoboken! The Purple Yam (Ube) Latte was so rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet. The Ube Cinnamon Roll was gooey in some areas, cakey in other areas, but overall surprisingly satisfying. Half way through my drink, I realized my latte probably didn't have espresso in it so I got a Cortado to go with it. Unfortunately, it was over-extracted and slightly bitter. It was more palpable once I mixed it in the latte. All in all, I've had this spot on my list for a while and glad I was able to stop by. I'd definitely come back to try their iced drinks!

The ube latte was fragrant with ube flavor but just be aware that the end is a bit clumpy. It's essentially milk and ube, and you can make a dirty ube latte by adding espresso! Delicious flavor and color, and women and Asian owned! Pretty cool artwork and a nice change of place in the quaint neighborhood of Hoboken!

Ohhhhh how I love a new coffee shop!! Whoever dares say this tiny town doesn't need another coffee shop can get lost. Everywhere needs another coffee shop. Forever. Coffee shops are the best. I love them. I love that you can go in on your own, or with friends, or with your dog (sometimes). You can get a tea and sit, you can get a coffee and take it for a walk. You can bring your laptop or a book or your phone. They rock. And when the coffee is good? Well, that is very important so the coffee better be good. And when they have good pastries??! Ugh, life just doesn't get better. Okay, now back to THIS coffee shop. It's on an off street so that might be why it wasn't too busy. Decked out in some very cool and quirky posters from floor to ceiling, it definitely matches the town. It's a tiny space with one big table. There were a few ladies at the end of one side catching up and I sat at the other with my laptop. All three of us (I would guess) happy as clams with coffee. I'm sure in the summer they will put another table or two outside, but for now, it's on the limited seating side. My oat milk latte was GREAT. And on top of that, it was HOT hot. I never get a latte that is actually burn your tongue hot. But I finally did and that is a good thing. I also got a little carrot bread because the super sweet barista said it was his favorite. I am a sucker for a pastry and a recommendation. That bread was also fantastic. Brought a slice to the bf and now we are both carrot bread people. So to recap: Great (and hot) coffee Tasty pastries - specifically the carrot bread Strong wifi Friendly baristas Cute vibe

Friendly service, a bit of seating, and they have a bathroom. We got a hot oat milk latte, a hot almond milk matcha latte and a cookie croissant. Total was around $18, the cookie croissant was the most expensive. They heat it up for you, if you'd like. The oat milk latte was good, the cookie croissant was okay, the matcha latte was subpar. They use culinary grade instead of ceremonial grade, so if you like matcha, I wouldn't get it. A nice spot otherwise!

Walked in a few mins before they closed at 3pm. Was greeted with warmth and friendly service. Allowed my dog to sit while the coffee was being made and it was delicious, I had a coffee and my friend had their latte and said it was delicious. Great spot & will definitely be back! They also have games for kids on the table I noticed and there is outside seating as well

What a cute coffee shop! Love the ambience here and the barista was so welcoming and friendly. I ordered the iced almond milk matcha - it was ok, if probably come and try some other things instead but the ube cookie (warmed) was SO delicious! It was soft and full of ube flavor, definitely coming back for more!

The barista was so kinda and friendly! While I didn't get any pastries, they looked super delicious. I also loved the art and prints they had on the walls. The coffee was good, but I did wish my latte was a bit on the stronger side since it was milkier than I typically like. I look forward to giving this place another try.

The cutest little coffee shop in Hoboken with the friendliest staff! I love dropping by here whenever I can to grab a coffee. My faves are the latte, americano, matcha, and ube latte they have but I'm sure everything is great. Make sure to also try the ube cookies!

The coffee is decent and the pastries were about a day old. They taste good once you reheat them but they aren't fresh.

Not only…read moreare the desserts incredible, but the employees were so friendly and pleasant to deal with as well. The star of the show is, of course, the Merveilleux. It's made with light, airy meringue and whipped cream, then covered in chocolate shavings. It somehow manages to be rich and delicate at the same time. I can see why it's their signature dessert. They offer different flavors and sizes too, from mini versions to larger cakes that are perfect for sharing. One of the coolest parts of visiting is that the kitchen is completely open. You can watch the pastry chefs assembling these beautiful creations right in front of you. It's mesmerizing and makes the whole experience feel special. The bakery has roots in Northern France and Belgium, where the Merveilleux originated, but pastry chef Frédéric Vaucamps reinvented the classic recipe to make it lighter and more modern. Whatever he did worked because these pastries are unforgettable. A quick tip: cash only, so come prepared. Honestly, if you're anywhere nearby, I think you need to run there. Between the amazing desserts, the friendly staff, and the chance to watch everything being made fresh, it's one of the most enjoyable bakery experiences I've had in a long time. Aux Merveilleux de Fred is a tiny, beautifully fragrant shop on 8th Ave. I ordered the cold brew black and it was one of the smoothest, most satisfying first cups of the day I've had in a long time. Finding genuinely good black cold brew in this city is harder than it should be, and this one hit the spot so perfectly I made a second solo trip before sundown. The chocolate and almond croissant was delicate, flaky, and exactly what a croissant should be. The shop itself is small, no indoor seating, but two benches out front! The staff was warm and the whole place smells incredible the moment you walk in. I've already earmarked the Cramique for my next visit, because if it's anywhere near as good as everything else, I'm in trouble. Do yourself a favor and stop in!

I got an iced banana split latte, and it was absolutely delicious! Was not excessively sweet- you could actually taste the coffee too, which is important to me! I also got this super yummy buttery croissant (don't remember the name) with pecorino romano cheese and mozzarella. It's set up like an open faced sandwich- which I liked and it made it easy to cut and eat with minimal mess- unlike when it's put together like a sandwich and those yummy flakes go EVERYWHERE- when you are dressed up, this makes a difference! I liked that you can stand outside and order or go inside. It's charming and has an old time sophistication inside. They also have a few outdoor seats. There was the slightest wait- so maybe bear that in mind if you are rushed and can't be patient- but a little wait for high quality food and drinks is well worth it! Those things take time.
