    Iced Wildflower Honey Latte (~$6)
    Aya E.

Ordered: Iced Wildflower Honey Latte (~$6): with macadamia milk Aya's take: It was a hot day in Jersey City and not only did I want something cold with a caffeine kick. This Iced Honey Latte is truly one of the best I've had. Literally after that first sip, I felt re-energized! It was creamy, not too sweet or overpowering from the honey, and gave me that boost of energy I needed. The cup is also super cute and stands out. Check them out if you're in Jersey City!

Vanilla bean cinnamon latte and black sesame latte

Great coffee but definitely on the pricey side. I'd probably stick with their more traditional espresso based coffees - I recently tried their black sesame latte, and the foam on top was filled with black sesame bits that felt gritty/sandy and made it hard to drink. Once you get past the top foam layer though, the drink is delicious. Still a good spot for coffee, I really appreciate that they have non dairy milk options at no additional cost.

Small and cute space to seat down and unwind. The staff are very friendly. Second time coming in to get coffee.

The back seating is awesome, its so quaint and a great place to study or catch up with a friend. There are quite a few tables, and individual chairs and a small couch near the door. Also theres an intermediary area between the patio and the bar that seems to have seating. The iced honey latte with macadamia nut milk was really yummy and aesthetic. Free wifi, and peaceful vibes with plenty of greenery.

Too Good to Go order with plenty of food

Great place to have a coffee hangout. Relatively quiet place and area. Parking is a bit tough to find but the place is really nice. The staff is very friendly and the food is wonderful. The good are always fresh and seems like they probably bake them fresh every day. They are also one of the best places for a "too good to go" order in the area. They give plenty of food for a small fees and the staff has already prepared pretty packages for pickup. Definitely a must visit cafe in JC! I only went there for the too good to go order so I might have thought they were somewhat less expensive. I didn't try any of the drinks there though.

Ive been hearing that this Lackawanna Coffee in specifics has been losing it's edge from a yelp review so I was very worried when I had arrived there just before opening, around 6:58am but to my surprise the barista working the counter let me into the store early and was extremely accommodating to me! I ordered a Hot Cocoa and they immediately started working on it and even made a really cute latte art, I was totally surprised at how they made latte art when there isn't any espresso in the drink, they made sure to double check what milk I wanted and explained the menu to me when I wasn't sure with what to get. I think it's wrong to say they lost their edge when they are definitely as sharp as they were before!!

This location has been my favorite place to get coffee for years now. Prior to COVID, I used to study here multiple times a week. With or without the indoor seating, the employees here all give off a great vibe. Everyone is completely themselves and truly make the effort to take any of your needs into account. There's a wide range of milk options to choose from: whole, skim, almond, oat, and macadamia. (I'm an oat milk fan, but the macadamia milk is super interesting and almost is a slight sweetener on its own). NOTE: THEY DON'T CHARGE YOU EXTRA FOR ALT-MILK! If you make it early enough in the day, their cheddar chive biscuit is my weekday fave, and their everything croissant is what I look forward to on the weekends. Everyone that works here is super sweet, and are always open to answering any questions you might have about the menu. My #1 go-to.

I have to go to coffee shops to work because if I stay home, I just end up watching Netflix all day, so I've been to a looot of coffee shops in the area. Lackawanna Coffee is definitely one of the best and has me coming back very often. I love the aesthetic of the entire place. It's super cute and in the warmer months, you can even sit outside. I've never had trouble finding a seat despite the small size of the cafe. I always get a latte of some sort and it's great every time. They have specialty drinks and a great menu overall. They also offer a variety of milks, like oat, macadamia, cashew, and others. They also offer toasts, but I've never tried it before. I just wished they stayed open later because I'm most productive in the evening/night time.

I love this spot. It's super cute and chic, and to top it off, the owners are amazing. It's trendy and I love their choice in decor as well as their cute to-go coffee cups. Although they don't have parking, I usually get lucky and find a spot right outside. This particular location isn't located in an area as busy as their Grove St. spot. They have tasty items along with delicious lattes. One of the faves here is their ginger tumeric latte with oat milk along with their avocado toast. Fresh, delicious, and clean. Their chocolate is also REALLY good! They have some funky flavors and it literally just melts in your mouth. They also have an outside seating area where you can hang out and enjoy a beautiful day. It would be amazing if they had a mobile app so customers can order on the go. Def try this spot out if you're in the area; the reviews are true...awesome!

I'm afraid I'm now a victim of "procaffeination." The process of delaying work until having caffeine. I love the atmosphere Lackawanna has been able to create in Downtown Jersey City. They have a wide offering of bakery treats, toasts, coffee, and tea; my go-to being the Pineapple Toast (or tartine). It sounded weird at first, but you have to try it. The prices aren't outrageous like other "modern spaces" charging $13 for an avocado toast, so I'll always have this place in mind when looking for a place to study. You have to option of sitting inside or outside, and outside seating is rarely crossed by pedestrians due to it's location. Not because nobody passes by, but you have to climb stairs onto there own little "porch." I wish cafes like Lackawanna were open past 6 or 7, but until then I find myself here often.

We've had similar coffee at Roost and Prato in Hoboken. It's a little on the bitter side. They don't have sleeves. I bought local chocolate bars they told me were $10/ea when the sign posted said $8/ea. They refunded me when my boyfriend asked about it. Their mistake. So I got some money back. The chocolate is a company called MAST in Brooklyn. I'm all for supporting local businesses. So I bought three lol. Anyway, the coffee is not that great. The service is quick though and they're quick at making the coffees. Love the design in the foam. Love that they gave their own cups and bags. We didn't try the food.

    Pastries!

I've never eaten anything that I didn't like. My faves are: milhojas, breakfast croissant sandwich, and any and every cake with dulce de leche filling. I only tiny, minuscule complaint I have about this place is the lack of signage for the pastries and cakes. It would be nice to know what I'm looking at without having the ask. Absolutely zero gatekeeping here. Please everyone keep patronizing this establishment. I need this place to continue to exist in my hood.

So get anything fresh, like made to order cakes or things you see come out right when you're there. Otherwise you run the risk of getting old stuff, which sucks that they don't manage that at all. On a Sunday afternoon lines moved quickly and we were able to find seats. This is a cute cafe that offers plenty of savory items and lunches, plus drinks like matcha, cakes, pastries and cookies. There is also a bathroom! The women behind the counter were all nice and patient with my questions, they also kept the line moving and were quick. I had high hopes for the Alfajores as this is an Argentinian bakery but unfortunately the ones given to me were stale. The cookie was very hard. Also the Dulce de leche was too sweet and burnt tasting to me. I also got a chocolate covered one and the cookie in that was also hard and dry. The strawberry croissant was amazing. Never had anything like that before. Not too sweet and very flaky. It has a ribbon of red on the outside which gives it a unique look. I would love to come back and try savory items. I'll continue to stick with the cakes and croissants for desert and make sure it's fresh!
