The ones in Los Angeles are not so great. Some even have large clumps of rice that can't fit thru a boba straw. DRINKS Mango Rice Yogurt & Strawberry Rice Yogurt - Both were well balanced with the right level of sweetness (they ask what sweetness level that you want). The purple rice was done right and made the drink enjoyable. There were small bits of rice that gave a little occasional bite as I took sips. SERVICE Service was good and friendly. The young woman behind the counter took my orders and also made my drinks. PARKING There are several options all around. Just read signs and be careful. Had high expectations. The yogurt is pretty thick. The osmanthus yogurt didn't really taste like its name, and the purple rice already has a hint of sweetness. I went here with a friend one evening, when it was fairly slow (when we arrived there was only one other person there, waiting for their drinks). We got to the counter to order and waited for ~5 minutes. There was only one person behind the counter working. He saw us standing there and even after trying to get his attention MULTIPLE TIMES by saying 'hi', he just stared at us and ignored us. We were super confused and after seeing delivery drivers come into the store and pick up orders, we ultimately decided to order online. We got two matcha drinks with different toppings. Service was a bit slow too, but we didn't mind much as we just talked with each other. When the drinks were finally finished, the barista didn't even call out the name, drinks, or anything. Just put them on the counter and walked away. We didn't know as to whether they were our drinks or not, but after he decided to not answer to us, we just took them because it's what we ordered. The drinks themselves were alright--a bit on the more sour, yogurt side. Overall, I would not come back here as the service felt so disrespectful. I AM YOGOST. This time we have tried one of their fruit yogurts - Strawberry Yogurt 莓果. It tastes very fresh, and it doesn't taste artificial at all. we highly recommend adding the rice ball if you haven't tried it yet. The rice ball has a very similar texture to 'mochi' though. This place is tucked inside a larger empty mall, with the entrance a bit hard to find. Once you find it though, the inside is beautifully white and modern, and the whole place is nicely decorated! I like how they use fresh fruit in their drinks and the price is decent. I got the fresh strawberry yogurt but would want to try a mochi drink next time! read more

I'm not a bubble tea tapioca fan. I'm a dessert fan and "real" ingredients simple consumer. (whatever that means). Credit to my brothers girlfriend who loves sweets and loves trying new places. It's located on the other side of Yoahan Center, if you see BMO bank, it's just directly across from there. Clean, aesthetically pleasing decor and super friendly service. I would say from an "asian beverage place" the barista there went above and beyond from explaining the drinks with genuine care in both English and Mandarin. WOW!!! The drink it self was very fresh, both in the mango and the base of the yogurt. For $8ish for a dessert beverage it's on the premium side, but now considering if I had a creme brûlée at Joe fortes or matcha something elsewhere, this is on par and above the quality than the first and 2nd mentioned. read more

Hey! I Love Yogost! Whatever that is! Apparently, these guys started in Toronto, and had stalls at Night It Up! and the Pmall Night Market, but I never noticed them, because I'm a loser that only follows big trends! Anyhoos, I really liked the yogurt drink I tried here. I got the Rice Wine Lychee Yogurt, and it was totally awesome. The rice wine taste wasn't too strong, and I really liked the lychee jelly jam thing in it. Also, they put some cream and osmanthus on top, and I love both those things, so that was really nice. It wasn't too sweet either. This place has really cute branding and decor, which seems to be the case with all these yogurt shops. The service is really good, friendly and fast. Hey I Am Yogost! is conveniently located in President Plaza, which is right next to the Radisson hotel. Just as a side note, President Plaza is open early!! Sounds weird but because the Aberdeen Centre next door opens at lunch, you might have a hard time looking for breakfast if you're traveling in the area. But no worries! President Plaza is there for you, Richmond visitor!! There's a pretty sweet food court there, and you can get a delicious breakfast there no problem!! read more

You'll find this HIAY at the bottom of a strange, deserted mall. I went in late on a Saturday afternoon. Google maps told me to turn into a driveway that looked like it led to the back of a shipping dock. I skipped the turn and ended up in the department store parking lot next to the mall. Don't make the same mistake! There are signs all over the adjacent parking lot that threaten towing if you're not there for the Yaohan Center. Since I had someone with me, I parked as close to the mall as possible and ran in solo, leaving them to watch for tow trucks. Upon entering, I saw two janitors, just one or two open stores open, and lots of darkened storefronts. HIAY was one of the only open stalls. Upon entering, it is bright, with white decor and a panel of windows that face the street. There is also an exterior door, which makes the mall entrance the back entrance. I get weirded out by sticky floors and the entire floor of the store was sticky. Unfortunately they were out of mochi, which is the main reason I chose to go there. However, the workers there are nice, and when I asked how long it would be for mochi, they said 20 minutes. You could see the girl behind the counter stirring up a batch. I couldn't wait because I was headed back across the border, so I ordered my standard purple rice yogurt. The wait wasn't too long and I was soon on the road, happily drinking my yogurt smoothie on the way back home. I was pleasantly surprised to find that they managed to add a little mochi to my drink, which made it that much more enjoyable. Although I took a star off for the sticky floor and unkept dining area, I really appreciated the 5-star customer service. I will be back if I'm ever in the area. read more

I tried Ricey Yogurt, Chewgurt Yummy, and this store all in one day. The winner is definitely I am Yogust by a long shot. They are all located within a kilometer of each other. This store has both the best tasting purple rice and yogurt compared to the other two places, but does cost 0.25 CAD more. The other two stores make their yogurt by watering it down with blended ice. Therefore the flavors are rather bland. In summary, a regular sized yogurt from Ricey Yogurt and Chewgurt Yummy both cost 6.50 CAD, while I am Yogost costs 6.75 CAD. Ricey Yogurt has bad tasting yogurt and bad tasting rice. Chewgurt Yummy has bad tasting yogurt but good tasting rice. I am Yogost has good tasting yogurt and good tasting rice. read more

I am a sucker for red date yogurt after trying red date yogurt in Shanghai many many years ago. So of course seeing this on the menu, I just had to go get it. We got the Red date yogurt with jelly, and Peach mango smoothie with mochi. The mochi is super thick, but fun to drink. However, after drinking half the drink, you start to feel very weighed down by the mochi. Red date yogurt with osthmanthus jelly was less thick, but still thick enough to feel weighed down. Unfortunately, the red date flavor didn't really shine or stand out. It was a really subtle red date flavor. I saw they have a fermented rice wine yogurt flavor that I would be interested in trying next time. read more

Have you ever had the experience of slurping up THICC, SILKY, LIQUID MOCHI YOGURT in a drink form? I am SUPER OBSESSED their Riceball Milkshake and Rice Yogurt series... I normally get two once a week almost. The feeling is so magical, especially if you love mochi, due to the interesting texture of mochi for their Riceball Milkshake series. Their Rice Yogurt is also really good and filling! My favourites are the Peach RiceBall Milkshake, Strawberry Jelly RiceBall Milkshake, Mango RiceBall Milkshake and Rose Yogurt here. First of all, they really mastered the balance of being not too sweet or sour (aftertaste)! The drinks here are normally very silky but doesn't give that bloating or heavy feeling afterward. I recommend 50% sugar as they're light on the sweet here. The staff here are UNBELIEVABLY helpful EVERY SINGLE TIME. Always willing to entertain my questions and HONEST recommendations (first time I came, I asked about the pumpkin rice ball and they told me most customers say they don't like as much.) I can tell they really care about your enjoyment for their drinks especially their manager. Peach RiceBall was my favourite and was on the slightly sweeter side. The peach taste goes really well with the riceball. Strawberry Jelly Riceball is a FUN packed drink with fresh strawberries pieces, jelly AND riceball. It feels kind of overloaded at times but it has all my favorite things in one! Mango Riceball is light, fresh and fruity. Good for a day when Im already semi full but need some fruit to balance my diet The Rose Yogurt has a fragrant taste but light. The purple rice that comes with is not too soft or hard, with some chew to it! Please note it takes 8-15 mins for them to make some of these drinks because they have a special processing method for their drink though IT IS WORTH THE WAIT. 5/5 my favourite place currently. read more

Having first tried yogurt drinks a few years ago when I was in Australia, I've been on the lookout for more stores of this sort to pop up in Vancouver. When I heard Hey I am Yogost was coming to Richmond, I knew I definitely had to try it. Yogurt drinks, in contrast to bubble tea, are usually more filling and the strawberry yogurt drink I got was no different. It was creamy and absolutely delicious! When I go back to Richmond I will be heading to Yogost first thing. The consistency of the rice yogurt was just right. The yogurt was not tart and I love that they had rice with fruit flavors as well. I really wanted to try taro rice yogurt but they were out. Yogost compares to cow cow in hawaii for me. Went to the Granville Vancouver location. I actually didn't know what to order as there are too many selections. It's great that other yelpers made recommendations. I decided on the strawberry riceball milkshake and was glad I got it. I opted for the 50% sweetness which was perfect. They used fresh strawberries. I like that there are small strawberry pieces that you chew on as well as the riceball. I thought the riceball was a bit weird but it quickly grew on me and the more I sip, the more I love it. It is quite pricey as they use yogurt. It definitely feels healthier than the usual bubble tea drinks. I would definitely try other flavors next time. read more

Long line up and once ordered still have to wait another 30 minutes to be able to pick up your drink, not sure what's taking them so long. When it first opened I was super excited! then I saw the line!!! The wait for that day was wayyy too long so I ended up returning a few weeks later haha I still had to wait about 20 mins for the drinks because they had a lot of orders! There were also a few categories on the menu that were sold out! The interior is super cute and clean and the menu has a lot of options! I've tried their, Peach Strawberry Probiotic, Blueberry Yogurt, Strawberry Riceball Milkshake, Original Rice Yogurt and Strawberry Lemon Probiotic! My favourites were definitely between the Peach Strawberry Probiotic and the Blueberry Yogurt! Digging in the cup, you will see some big fat chunks of mango and wiped cream on top. Yogurt was blended well with mango purée and yea, a thick layer of semiliquid mochi ball at the bottom. So you'll get a variety of components in a cup. It was not sour at all, but came with a kick of milky aftertaste on your first sip. The in-store service overall was pretty good. The staff was patient enough to answer my questions and did give me recommendations on different products. No line up at all and the wait time was like 5-8 mins for 2 drinks? So it was not too bad. I often head to Yogost for my yogurt drink cravings and I usually go to the Richmond location for my fix. However, since my first visit, I found that the quality of my visits and drinks tend to get worse. I typically order their Signature Purple Rice Yogurt, 50% sugar, 50% ice, so I have a pretty good idea of how it should taste. During my last visit, I placed this exact order, and as per usual, I grabbed my drinks to go and began to drink it once I got home. At the first sip, I realized that they got my entire order wrong as I had received the Red Bean Yogurt instead. The sticker on the cup stated Rice Yogurt, however the 'purple rice' within my cup tasted like Red Bean, and after careful review, it definitely was red bean instead of purple rice. I was beyond surprised and upset as, despite the quality of the drinks getting worse with each visit, I've never had them completely mess up my entire order before. This was a total disappointment, and since then, I haven't been back. I would not recommend this location if you're someone who likes consistent drinks.
