I visited Little Pisces for Hot chocolate festival limited item. #147 Pina Cocoalada Hot chocolate - Pineapple hot chocolate topped with generous amount of marshmallow fluff, paired with 2 nutella taiyaki on skewers. Highlight was Marshmallow!! Flavor of pineapple was great and hot chocolate drink itself wasn't too sweet at all, so, sweet marshmallow paired with drink so well! Marshmallow flavor dominated the drink, however, it blends with hot chocolate perfectly Taiyaki was also good. I really loved this item. I come back to try different flavor.

So happy that they opened a location in Richmond! Such a good spot for a little sweet treat post meal. The store itself is quite small and usually has a line, but it goes by decently quickly. There's also a couple of small tables along the side that are almost always preoccupied by people haha. I didn't want to review this place until I also tried their drinks, to which I finally did! Since they're mostly known for the ice cream & taiyaki, I wanted to see how the drinks compared and honestly they're pretty good. We ordered the black sesame hojicha and the sweet potato latte and both were decent. I think it could do with less sweet though. We also ordered their taiyaki which was standard -- decent amount of filling (could do with just a TAD more), shell was a good vessel for the insides. One thing (if I had to nitpick) is that I wish the filling was more evenly spread, since usually I spend the first half either eating just filling or just the shell of the taiyaki which is unfortunate. Had their ice cream back in the summer and the flavours were pretty good. Not overly sweet when you're eating it with the taiyaki shell. Would be back for sure! Also a great place to pick up dessert if you're headed to a potluck/gathering.

You know you found something good when I visited their shop 3 times in the span of a week. So glad my friends introduced me to this spot! Where have I been? While I was aware of them opening in Richmond, I wasn't jumping to try them out because I thought their taiyaki was going to be similar to the Japanese ones or the cake-y ones but boy was I wrong! The ones here are made with a mochi batter which gives it an excellent mochi chewy texture! I've tried several flavours and while the outside batter has been consistent, the inside filling has some inconsistencies. There's been times where only one section of the taiyaki had the filling (ie there was nothing on the other half...), or that the matcha strawberry did not properly melt so filling was an unpleasant texture. Overall though, despite some filling inconsistencies, the mochi batter and sweet filling makes it a perfect post-meal dessert or just an afternoon snack!

Came back for more taiyaki and tried the black sesame filling this time--so good! I love the chewy fish-shaped shell. Definitely coming back again!

This place is adorable! The taiyaki was perfectly golden crisp on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside side. We got the milk/pineapple swirl soft serve which was sooo good. Overall the flavours are on the soft and light side. The yellow interior is picturesque and service was fast. No wonder the line was out the door all afternoon!

We love going to Little Pisces for a quick dessert after dinner. My go to flavour for the taiyaki is hotteok, a Korean inspired one that tastes like cinnamon sugar. There can be a bit of a wait for the taiyaki because they make them fresh but it's worth it! The ice cream with the taiyaki cone is also super cute. Seating is a bit tight but it's nice to enjoy outside in the summertime.

Went here for the grand opening. I loved their Asian inspired flavours but it was alright. That day was busy, but I didn't expect to have such an chaotic way of figuring out which taiyakis were my order and getting burned by how hot they were when handed to me. The mango soft serve was good as it was fragrant and flavourful of mango. I also go 2 taiyakis. I got the matcha strawberry and lemon tart. Matcha strawberry was underwhelming. It was more matcha than strawberry and was basically a KitKat in a taiyaki. Lemon tart was better as it had lemon curd in it which gave the lemon-y punch. Unfortunately, the taiyaki was really hot and dripping out of the taiyaki. It made the whole experience kinda messy. My friend got a matcha drink and it was not a good ratio of matcha to milk. It was very light green so I think they've got to work on that.

Honestly I had really high hopes for the HK lemon tea soft serve since it was close to $9 CAD for jsut this soft serve. It I was quite disappointed. There was almost no tea flavor, just lemon flavor and it was quite expensive. I heard they are more known for their taiyakis, if you're wanting to come here I might just stick with getting a taiyaki the hk lemon tea soft serve was not worth it at all. There is a good amount of indoor seating but it's hard to find parking.

I've been back a few times already since attempt #1 on soft opening day, and yes, I now collect points because I consistently find myself craving something refreshing and hitting that sweet tooth craving. I've yet to visit the OG location in burquitlam and have nothing to compare Richmond to, so here's the review. Soft opening was a teeny bit clustery in terms of navigating the space (seating yet to arrive, waste disposal deep in the back of the store etc) BUT hugeee props to exceeding expectations with just about no wait time - and the store was PACKED. Well done. As a slightly lactose ice cream lover, I decided that I'm not feeling so adventurous. And of course, the yakult soft serve caught my eye. For an extra dollar or so, add the taiyaki to the soft serve! Included is a complimentary smear of their classic fillings. To our surprise the soft serve was very light, not heavy milk based (lactose friends, here you go!), and had a nice tangy buzz. 100% compliments the hot, crispy and chewy taiyaki on top. This combo hit the spot. For around $10 I'd get this as a treat over and over again. We did think the soft serve alone was priced ever slightlyyy higher than what a soft serve should be. On other occasions we've had the hojicha soft serve and a mix bag of taiyaki flavours. I personally love hojicha but didn't find the that soft serve particularly flavourful and that just isn't my go to order here. Of all the taiyaki flavours, our favorite is somewhere in between black sesame and lemon curd. We loveee the chewiness of the taiyaki pastry (I don't think it's what a traditional taiyaki pastry is, but nonetheless, love it!) Be warned the custard and lemon curd fillings are veryyy watery and will burst and be messy.

Little Pisces opened their second location in Richmond, with location exclusive flavours like salted egg yolk taiyaki, pork floss taiyaki, and mango yakult soft serve. This location is quite small with limited seats, so it's good to keep that in mind. Lots of parking spots available though. If you're a fan of the sweet/savory combo - I highly recommend the salted egg yolk taiyaki - the mochi batter gives it a nice QQ texture. The soft serve is also a good choice for summer, their new mango Yakult flavour is so refreshing! As for their matcha, I probably wouldn't get it again. I thought their Lougheed location was higher quality. Overall a cute little spot for a sweet treat!

Little Pisces just recently opened a Richmond location, which I was excited to try as their Burnaby location was always too far for me. They didn't dissapoint, the location was clean (though still awaiting furniture), food met our expectations, and service was quick and hassle-free! They sell filled taiyaki, soft-serve with hollow taiyaki, and some teas/tea lattes. They are a bit pricey at $6.70/ 2 small taiyakis. Their soft serve and teas seem to be slightly higher than elsewhere as well. They are very transparent about their menu+pricing on their website! They accept card only in store. I ordered a matcha strawberry and their classic custard taiyaki-- what's special about Little Pisces is the mochi texture of the taiyaki shell! It is unmatched to others I've had before, though you have to eat it right away to maintain that texture. Next time I'll try the soft serve taiyaki to see if the hollow taiyaki achieves the same chewy texture. The filling was warm in the crispy yet chewy shell. The matcha flavour was rich and they use freeze-dried strawberries which became juicy once cooked. The custard was pretty classic, though I did notice the filling ratio was off. It seemed like it was just coating the inner surfaces of the taiyaki rather than oozing out. I hope they continue to improve this as the new location grows. The salted egg yolk taiyaki, milk tea softserve, and grape jasmine green tea are their Richmond store exclusives! Parking was decent on a weekday night as there is a shared lot with other businesses in the plaza.

I heard a lot of good things about this place and it lived up to the hype. We tried the black sesame and pistachio flavours and both were good. The pistachio filling was really thick and heavy though but the texture of the taiyaki was really good. We also tried the HK lemon tea ice cream which tasted like the Vitasoy lemon tea drink (this was for the ice cream festival over the summer). I'll be back to try more flavours!

An after dinner treat that never disappoints! Can't go wrong with chili icecream, panda ice cream and lemon tea ice cream with a side of taiyaki!

I had time to appreciate the freshly painted furniture, the cozy hanging lighting, and the cleanliness of both the table, silverware, and washrooms. The paintings were very nice! The kind of facilities you'd come to expect walking in. The service was excellent, our server was cheerful and kind. While I didn't have silverware intitially, I was still in a yolking mood, it didn't bother me in the slightest, The tables were preset, so really, it isn't a fault of theirs. Our server was attentive and careful, and we felt welcome. It felt easy to come out of my shell. The food was incredible, and made my morning. I ended up finishing my friends' plates! We all got benedict, the avocado, shrimp, and duck. Having tried them all, i would most recommend the duck. It was incredibly tender and the sauce worked well with the holliandaise. The shrimp was delicious, the fish paste took well, though the shrimp were a bit chewy and difficult to cut. I had been craving an eggs benedict, so i came to the professionals. Despite their reputation, they still exceeded my eggspectations! Five Stars.

Friendly staff, tons of parking (as connected to a hotel), close enough to access from the bigger road without a lot of effort, decently priced brunch (which I think is hard to find in any of the greater Vancouver areas) & lots of different table sizes. I especially appreciated the waitress seating me at a place I requested (so my cane wouldn't be an issue for safety to others trying to get to tables or even serve me). Bathroom was large & easy to access, even though it's all the way at the back of the restaurant. Lots of natural light from the big windows & it was nice for those of us seated along the sunnier side to be able to adjust the blinds ourselves. I also was impressed with how the noise didn't bother me on such a large place. I know it wasn't nearly anywhere near full capacity while I was leisurely enjoying my meal there, but still enough people (and families with younger kids) to know how sound would carry.

My friend had a pot of Leisure Fresh Fruit tea and a scone. We'd already had lunch a bit earlier and while my friend had room for a scone, I had zero room in my stomach for any food so I just had a pot of Longan Red Date tea. It was a cold day so a pot of hot tea really hit the spot. I thought it a bit pricy at first, but when the tea came, I saw that the teabags were Fortnum & Mason teabags. That is a very a prestigious company from all the way over in England. When I realized we were drinking Fortnum & Mason tea, all of a sudden $10.25 didn't seem so extravagant any more. My friend said her scone seemed like more of a biscuit than a scone. It came with butter and jam. I think she wished there had been some clotted cream to go with it. I can't say too much about the food as I only had one pot of tea but I was impressed that it was Fortnum & Mason tea, and I very much enjoyed the flavor of the Longan & Red Dates in my tea.
