Haven't had heytea since I was in China so ofc I had to try the nyc locations. It was crowded of course but the line was relatively fast and efficient. I do wish they had menus up to see while waiting in line instead of at the ordering kiosk. I wanted the coconut cloud blue but unfortunately they were sold out so I settled for the mango coconut boom. I will say I felt pretty rushed and stressed and when I asked the cashier clarification questions he seemed pretty exasperated I didn't automatically know everything but then again heytea isn't exactly known for their service. The drink itself felt like I was drinking a dessert, I like that they use pretty clean ingredients and I don't feel bloated the way I normally do after boba. I've been hearing about Heytea popping up all over Manhattan and Brooklyn for a while. We were on our way from a show to the Path station and I noticed they were still open. You can order via their app, which you have to download. Otherwise you can wait in line to order. I opted to order via the app. I had their Cloud Matcha Latte and my husband had the Bobo Milk Tea. The drinks came out a little earlier than the app said it would, which was nice. I don't love that there are no other milk alternatives other than "fresh real milk". Solid bubble tea shop right outside KTown. I've gotten the Crisp Grape Bloom a couple of times, and definitely recommend it. Even without sugar, there's still a natural sweetness from the grapes, and you can even taste grape bits in the drink. (Have also heard from friends that the Mango Coconut Bloom is really good too) The shop is pretty small, with barely any indoor seating, and can get quite busy post lunch, so would be prepared to find somewhere else to sit down and drink after ordering. I was recommended this place and apparently its all the rave. The menu is only located right at the digital screen in front of the cashier so it was hard to decide what I wanted until the last moment. I went out of my comfort zone and away from the usual milk tea that I order and I got the coconut mango boom. I have no idea what else is in here but mango and coconut but why not. I was one of those people that thought this place was overhyped at first. But my friends wanted to try it out so I joined and wow I definitely understand why it's hyped. Pretty dangerous since it's right across the street from my office. When you step in the store, you are hit with the strong tea aromas and it smells so amazing. There was no line when we came. Service was okay but could have been better. We waited 5-10 min for our 3 drinks. I forgot to add boba to my drink so I had to go back in line and get the boba separately and they charged me $1.40 just for a side of boba... Insanely expensive! I got the passionfruit mango and it was delicious!! The taste of the tea was so good and unique. No other boba tea compares!!! They've got their operation down to a T now and I'm so happy I no longer have to wait 30+ minutes just for one drink. This location has a bench and a few small tables for patrons to sit as they wait for their drinks. This visit I decided to try something new and got the new guava green grape drink and the crisp grape boom. The guava flavor melded really well with the green grape tea. The crisp grape boom was just purple grapes instead of their green grapes in the same drink (I prefer the green grape version). The mango was in large chunks that could've been smaller. It needed more tapioca balls, sugar, and coconut. I liked the sweetness of the grape boom. It needed to be stirred because the ice was on top and liquid on the bottom. It had a slushie consistency unlike the coconut mango. Tapioca balls also would've improved this. I preferred the taste of this, but the consistency of the coconut mango. I would get less ice and regular sugar in the future, but I wouldn't seek this place out. When I got them, I noticed that the two drinks were clearly separated, as if they had been made in advance and left out for a long time. came here after hearing all the hype that surrounds it. this location was SUPER busy, barely anyone can order in person because the store itself was PACKED, couldn't really move around. luckily we got seats along the wall and ordered online. we waited about 15 minutes for our order to be made. props to the staff, can't imagine how tedious it is making these drinks all day long. 2 medium drinks were about $14 which is average i feel like for dessert drinks now-a-days. the slush texture is super nice so i can understand the hype behind it but besides that i don't see myself craving this place over others. i got the grape which was nice , not too sweet, had some grapes inside but it wasn't a flavor that i was like "OMG THIS IS DELICIOUS". i would say i recommend people to try it at least once but i probably won't come back again due to the wait. if it was truly a grab & go, less than 5 minutes then maybe i'll try out other flavors but until then, it's a pass read more
