    Cloud longjing tea latte hot
    Lizzie S.

Located near my hotel in Herald Square! Quick service so you don't wait that long. Not much seating inside. You can order ahead online for pickup too. Take your drink and drink it while walking in Herald Square nearby or Bryant Park or a Broadway show. I enjoyed my hot Cloud longjing tea latte and their matchas also looked good, as well as their grab-and-go baked goods.

I ordered the Wicked matcha green tea and it was really good. The top of the drink had the word WICKED with black bits of dragon fruit seeds. It looked super cool! The drink was all pink and green and it was in a big size. I requested less ice so then I would get more in return. It worked out great because I took forever to finish and could enjoy my drink better that way. The HeyTea aroma inside the store never fails me. It smells amazing inside with the fragrance of strong tea leaves.

This HeyTea location, near Herald Square, was located near where we were staying in NYC. I passed by it many times to and from the subway station, so I noticed it can get very busy depending on time of day. The shop is small and there is not much space to stand in line or wait for drinks. There is very little seating, most people order for take out. There is no restroom for customers. As a tourist in an unfamiliar area, I find the lack of restroom for customers to be annoying in food or drink places. I was initially confused when I walked up to the screen showing the menu. I thought it was an interactive order kiosk because my usual store has one. I used my finger to swipe the screen and was surprised it didn't scroll up. LOL This location has a smaller menu and everything fits on one screen. My usual store has a larger variety of drinks on their menu. One of the workers walked up and asked what I wanted to order. The upside to having someone take the orders is that it is easier to customize the drinks. We picked up 2 drinks : Mango Grapefruit Boom (a slushie) and Oat Matcha Bobo. Both were very good! They offered a bag to carry the drinks out, and they have a special cardboard insert to help keep your drink upright the bag. I would come here again. The staff are friendly and efficient. It's a much better experience than another bubble tea shop I visited in the neighborhood.

All I can say is, none of the drink flavors here was appealing to me. I reluctantly tried the only option left that sounded mildly not terrible, grapefruit boom, and totally disappointed as well. Perhaps if you like the flavors it could be worth it but none of it matched my tastes and for $8 for a not very appealing drink didn't seem great. Very limited selection of drink flavors. Also be careful what you order, my friend who normally loves heytea got her favorite drink with added "cloud" and ended up being a totally different drink color/flavor and she didn't like it either. Either way, too crowded and way too long of a wait time. Overpriced and overhyped, better bubble tea chains out there!

I think HeyTea is not for me. I ordered the Cloud Crisp Grape and I did not realize it had a cheese cloud on it. That's on me for not knowing because the drink tasted just like what I would expect. It tasted like a slush and then a layer of cheese on top. I still drank the entire thing because these drinks are pricey. The service was pretty fast even though the line was long. There's not that many tables to hang out at, but this place feels more like a grab and go type of place.

    Matcha latte $7.99

Finally decide to give HeyTea a try and see what all the hype is about. Stopped by at 9am and they were closed, they don't open till 11am, not very convenient for a tea shop in busy Herald Sq. The line was long but went fast, cashier was very patient and knowledgeable, tea took an unreasonable amount of time. I ordered the matcha latte $7.99, it came with a matcha foam on top and mochi jelly. The latte was very good, good quality matcha! The jelly was a bit much, I would get without next time. Advance ordering available. Beautiful modern space which minimal seating, you can still smell the paint/ construction which was a little off putting. Wish yelp allowed 1/2 stars, I would rate a 3.5

Fresh, fruity, and refreshing drinks that highlight real ingredients. Food (5/5): The Coconut Mango Boom stands out with its use of fresh mango and rich coconut flavor. Service (4/5): Friendly and fairly quick, though it can get busy during peak hours.

    BOGO triple matcha supreme

I LOVE HEYTEA coconut mango boom!! One of my favorite drinks in the world. Triple matcha supreme with coconut jelly was good but honestly even maybe a little too bitter for me. Also it was just like a matcha latte with jelly. I will say there is EXTREMELY limited seating and EXTREMELY long lines at almost all times. When I went for the BOGO I waited for 30 minutes to order and then came back 3 hours later to pickup. Pickup was efficient though.

I'm a big big fan of Heytea Lab, but even without the experimental flavors, Heytea is a solid spot! I love their fruit teas, especially all the grape flavored ones!

    Cloud Mulberry Strawberry, not good!

The worst $10 ever spent. First off this location is insane chaotic. No one knows where the line starts and so many people waiting for their drinks just standing around. It took me an hour to get my tea. The interior speaks zen but it's a complete opposite. Shit show to say the least. I ordered Cloud Mulberry Strawberry with less ice. 40 minutes later I got a warm smoothie-like drink without the whipped cream "cloud". Honestly it was disgusting. So I asked them to remake it, especially because it was missing the foam cream on top. The associate refused to remake at first saying he wants to just put the cream on top of my disgusting warm drink but after chatting for a bit he finally agreed. I'm pretty sure he charged me extra $1 for that though. Okay... Now it's been an hour since I came into HeyTea and I finally got what I ordered. Second iteration of the drink was ok. No taste of strawberry just fuzzy mulberries floating into the straw. Texture-wise it was bad, taste-wise it was bad, experience was beyond bad. I will never buy their tea. They don't even come close to my fav fruit tea shop. And their attitude isn't customer focused, it more to just to rip off quick money and move on.

Mulberry smoothie, triple matcha supreme, mango grapefruit boom! All amazing

I really appreciate HEYTEA's curated and creative menu. I've never had a drink that I didn't like from here and I enjoy being able to recommend folks try their bevvies with confidence that no matter what they get, they're very likely going to really enjoy it. Their online menu is super cool too because the design/graphics team went crazy with their product images that beautifully display all the various drink components of each drink. Their mango boom is a fan fave for a reason and this is my go-to when traveling; I tend to use it as my benchmark for how good any specific location is. Another one I'd recommend is the triple matcha supreme. Their matcha mochi is such a unique texture and component that I've almost never seen in any other tea franchise's offerings.

Hot jasmine tea with matcha cloud

Walking into Hey Tea you instantly get surrounded by the floral aroma of jasmine flowers! I ordered a warm jasmine tea, lightly sweetened with matcha cloud. Everything was full of distinct flavors, the combo was unique and so pleasing. I was instantly in love! If you'll excuse me, I have to google if there is a Hey Tea back home in Chicago!

Busy tea shop, they have a line that goes around the shop and lots of folks waiting to pick up as well as phone orders. The wall has a nice wood relief of the city and a small tea display. The busy-ness of a shop that is new, I suppose? The Supreme brown sugar milk tea and the original version - not sure what the difference is between the two - I selected the first (not original) and while it was ok after I mixed it up (real milk, slow cooked boba with optional less ice and less sugar), I've had better brown sugar bubble tea in the city. Lots of fruity and floral flavors on the menu, will try one of those next time if I pop in and it's not too busy... waiting 20min for a drink ordered at the counter was not a good use of time, but I wasn't going to order on any app, either.

I've never been to a yogurt store that makes you pay a set price first before selecting toppings, which also means toppings are limited based on the yogurt size (something I only realized later after looking at a picture I took in the store). The employee who was supposed to help me immediately gave me attitude, as if I was supposed to already know all the "rules" of the store. I said nothing that would have warranted that reaction -- I simply went over to the display. At the register, I scanned my rewards app then couldn't find the card reader to pay. After about 20 seconds, I realized it was sitting on top of a case of water bottles (pictured). The topping limit signage was also placed off to the side of the register where customers wouldn't naturally see it -- it wasn't even on my side and was partially blocked. I only found this out when I went up to the counter after I got my yogurt. While choosing toppings, I asked how many I was allowed, and she responded, "How many toppings do you think you're supposed to choose?" with a noticeably rude tone. When I chose cookie dough as my fourth topping, she only gave me a few pieces, dropped another on the counter (pictured), and ignored it. The cookie dough topping was stale too. I also noticed she did not seem to treat other customers the same way. I eventually went back to the register - I asked her if the yogurt was actually strawberry matcha because it tasted like vanilla. I also asked about her rudeness because I genuinely didn't understand why I was being treated that way for asking simple questions. She said the information was "on the wall," even though it was difficult to see. I actually ended up apologizing earlier because she made me feel like I was burdening her. The only personable thing she said the entire interaction was that I didn't need to apologize, but the tone still felt unfriendly. Two customers sitting nearby ended up leaving without ordering. I understand it was Super Bowl Sunday and she appeared to be working alone, which may have contributed to stress. Still, I left feeling extremely shaken and even spilled yogurt on my jacket afterward. I would not return to this location. I used to come to this location sometimes, but after this experience -- and a previous visit where I ordered a tea and received very little -- I would not return.

Ahh, grass jelly loeng4 fan2 涼粉 is my childhood favorite dessert and summons nostalgia! It is my mission to search for bubble tea businesses that offers grass jelly as a topping for my primary reason to patronize. It was abundant which filled one quarter of my medium sized drink. The grass jelly topping is New York City standard priced at $0.50 at least there is sustainability and a sense of normalcy. I requested regular ice, but the entire ice dispensed disappointedly melted and the drink became room temperate. Heat wave medium $6.00 Passionfruit green tea with grass jelly, 50%, light sugar. The drink alone was good quality. While scanning the electronic menu the drink names appear very comical and not business appropriate as well as this bubble tea business name Ho Ho Te. The sound speakers is boisterously loud blasting music directly at my face by the ordering counter. The cashier associate was 90% inaudible of her customer service questions due to the boisterously loud blasting music as I had to fight loud vs. loud by blurting loudly several times: "WHAT?" Why would a business intentionally place sound speakers in front of a ordering counter station where customers must communicate their food/drink orders? How can customers place their drinks orders with clear specific description/instructions only for the cashier associate to inadvertently obfuscate by misinformation because the message conveyed was utterly misinterpreted? Communication is vital for ordering and order fulfillment accuracy in the food service industry! The cardboard paper straws available are environmentally sustainable friendly for biodegradable and compostable. However, these cardboard straws taste AWFULl!! The drink selection is very limited menu compared with other bubble tea competitors. Disappointedly there is no Jasmine green tea on the menu. There are some food items. Takeout menus are available for grabs. Loyalty card is available which also serve as business card where the back is printed in gold foil. We walked into a modern, playful space with a menu built around customizable treats, oversized mason jar desserts, and unique ice cream flavors, the kind of place that feels designed for anyone with a sweet tooth. The shop had a bright, energetic vibe with a layout that accommodated quick stops rather than long stays, and the colorful displays added to the sense that we were in for something more visually engaging than a standard dessert run. The signature mason jar desserts are the biggest reason to visit. We ordered a few and found each one layered with ice cream, sauces, toppings, and whipped cream, creating desserts that were both visually impressive and surprisingly filling. The portions were generous, making them easy to share if we were not looking for a massive dessert on our own. Beyond the specialty jars, the rotating ice cream flavors were another highlight, with options like Earl Grey, Vietnamese coffee, taro, and matcha offering something a little different from the usual vanilla and chocolate choices. The drink menu was just as extensive, featuring bubble teas, fruit teas, milk teas, and their signature Floatea drinks that combined tea with soft serve ice cream. We appreciated that the menu offered enough variety for different cravings, whether we wanted a refreshing drink, a rich ice cream dessert, or something in between. There were also plenty of toppings and mix-ins available, making it easy to customize our order. The shop itself was clean and modern, though it was on the smaller side. Seating was limited indoors, so it worked better as a place to grab dessert and continue exploring the neighborhood rather than somewhere to spend a long time relaxing. During our visit, the desserts were prepared quickly, and the colorful presentation made them feel almost too nice to dig into right away. The staff moved through orders with efficiency, and the desserts came out without much delay. The only thing to keep in mind is that some of the specialty creations are quite rich and can easily be enough for two people. Popular flavors may also occasionally sell out later in the day, so your first choice may not always be available if you visit during peak hours. Overall, Surreal Creamery is a fun stop for anyone looking for desserts that go beyond a standard scoop of ice cream. The creative presentations, unique flavors, generous portions, and customizable menu make it stand out from most dessert shops. It is the kind of place we would return to when we want something indulgent, colorful, and a little different from the usual ice cream experience.
