Came here earlier to follow up on registration. The receptionist who is not the same people I spoke to previously gave me the most bizarre rebuttal after I asked her, " Which services do you offer?". Seemed really off to answer with " What do you mean? ". I found the interaction tasteless to I preceded with, " Is this the barcode for the services?" I was the only one there. She seemed too busy and looked at me again with a really disconnected demeanor and seemed annoyed at my presence. TL;DR a usual peel gone way way wrong. Extremely disappointed with my service. I've been to heyday a few times now (various locations) and I don't think I'll ever go back. I knew something was wrong with the session the minute I got in the chair. The girl (Sarah) had my head all the way upside down to the point where blood was rushing to my head. I asked her to lift me up a bit, she did but I knew she might've been new or just not sure what she was doing. She proceeded to be very rough with my skin. I always get the same peel during my sessions and asked for the same this time too. She kept trying to upsell me another enhancement like a light therapy or something. I refused and wanted just my usual peel. I'm not sure what she used to clean my face, but the minute the peel went on my skin, it was burning. Instead of removing it, she kept it on. My face burnt the rest of the session. And even though I told her I'm burning, she continued to do the most painful extractions ever. My face has many many marks on it and is essentially burnt in various areas. She didn't give me any aloe or healing tips other than "use healing products" which I'm not an esthetician, I don't know which products I'm supposed to use in this case. I'm not sure what she did wrong, but my face is swollen, burnt, and had multiple red marks and I'm unsure when this will heal. I'm very disappointed and concerned. read more

I started coming here about six months ago as I was reentering life post-vax. I was glowing after my first session. I signed up for monthly and haven't looked back. I've worked with a few members of the staff, but my regular is Juan E. Her extractions are pretty intense, but I always see the best results from her sessions! Such a pro and so kind. Some of the staff I've worked with have seemed less experienced, though they've always done a good job and I like the products they work with. No matter who you work with, they make sure to talk to you about your skin goals and routine at the beginning of sessions, typically preview the treatments, and check in as you're going along. Because of that, I've never had a bad reaction post-facial (other than when I've done a peel and expected that redness), and I would consider myself to have pretty sensitive skin. I will say it's not a super spa-like environment; music is more upbeat, there's not a ton of privacy, and you won't get much of a head or neck massage (though my most recent session was massage-heavier). The focus is really on the skin. Do note they will try to sell you on an upgrade every session-- I've been doing the LED light mask most sessions. Probably placebo effect and from the results of the facial, but I do notice that I don't break out for a couple weeks after so I'll keep sticking to it. They'll also give you a product recommendation from their gift shop every time, which are high-priced brands, but they're not too pushy about it; the couple I have bought (Dermalogica's daily microfoliant and Naturopathica's balancing mist) have ended up being foundational products for me. The monthly subscription is a good deal in my eyes. My skin's health and texture have come so far from when I started, and this keeps my skin in check throughout the seasons. Also one time I got completely soaked from rain and they gave me a warm blanket and ran my pants through their dryer (!) during my session, so they'll always be 5 stars in my heart. read more

Quick extraction was done on just my nose although I have congestion in other areas, no steamer made it difficult to even get the extractions done, $65 for the LED mask felt excessive given the overall price and limited number of products used. I felt I could have done this facial myself. I enjoy facials because of the relaxation aspect, I did not get that here. Very minimal face and neck massage which is typically my favorite part. I had heard that sessions are educational and suggestions for products are made but I had to ask at the end of my service for suggestions vs having it explained throughout my service. Overall very disappointing. Staff was nice, no complaint there. the structure of the service was just a let down. Better off checking out pretty much another other small business/spa. read more

I have never been to a place like this for a facial. And I loved it! It has a very "un" spa-like concept. This place does not include the fluff of a regular spa. You get in, get what you came for and leave. It is very hip, cool and modern. They play cool music, not traditional spa music. I came to get my skin exfoliated, cleaned and extracted and that's what I got! The esthetician who worked on me (Kristen) was awesome! Such a sweetheart with the perfect touch. Very thorough, yet gentle enough with extractions. And I always need a lot of extractions! My skin has not felt this clean and soft in a long time. The girls as the desk were very nice too. Having said that, I didn't like how they don't use an extraction tool which is one of the main reasons why I get facials and thus it felt like there were minimal extractions being done. Also, $135 for 50 minutes seems way overpriced for the treatment I received IMO. I was in that seat for about 40ish minutes but it just didn't feel like much was being accomplished on my skin. I booked about a month in advance and by the time my appointment rolled around I was experiencing some skin issues, so rather than take my money for a 75 minute facial and give me a treatment that would harm me, the therapist, Blake, came up with a new plan that would benefit me. She shortened my facial time and gave me a complimentary light therapy session for my birthday. On top of that, I had purchased a birthday deal (a 75 min facial for the price of 50 min) and rather than lose out on the chance to cash in on this deal because of my skin issues, Joanne at the front desk told me to call her when my skin improves and they will honor the birthday deal. Heyday is rad. I love facials--I find them to be incredibly relaxing (not the extraction part) to the point where I prefer them over a massage. The problem is that it's a pricey hobby with most boutique studios in NYC ringing in at upwards of $150 a pop. With Heyday, you can have your cake and eat it too with solid treatments and a respectable price tag. This location is large with lots of natural light upon entry, and comfy enough accommodations in the back rooms. They have a suite of different procedures you can book, but my new go-to is their $95 50-minute facial. All of the things you look for in a full service facial, but nothing that will cause you to have anxiety over paying your rent afterwards. I highly suggest you give them a shot if you value self-care, but don't have an arm and a leg to spare on paying for it. read more

Super disappointing. Read a lot of good things about this place and unfortunately it's all PR hype. Not a relaxing experience whatsoever- was put in the back room that was incredibly LOUD and could hear the employees and the restrooms constantly. Esthetician was clearly inexperienced, gave very painful extractions and the worst part of this place--- when they do a mask, they put it on and just leave you there! No neck or decollete massage, just stuck siting there in an uncomfortable chair with no pillow, subjected to the sounds of flushing toilets and laundry carts running around. Honestly this is place is smoke and mirrors- the service itself is very poor. Do not waste your money. I called in due to a train delay that made me exactly 7 minutes late. I was offered my 12:30 appointment with notification that the beautician could "roll over," OR a 1:00pm appointment since it was the day after Thanksgiving and there were few bookings. I opted for option 1 but was rushed through my 50-minute appointment as the front desk evidently did not communicate with the beautician. My appointment was 42-43 minutes long and I was not offered water or a blanket to stay warm. If this business wants to attract patrons with rigorous standards as they gradually raise treatment prices they will have to improve communications and amenities. I hope this treatment yields good results but if not, this is probably my last Heyday booking. read more

So over the years I have left Heyday then come back to it, never really finding my groove, but then I discovered Anush! She is honestly my favorite facialist I have ever had! I sort of hate to post about her since I want her to remain my secret haha, but I want to spread the love. I started going to her b/c I was prepping for my wedding and I just love her! One thing I've encountered at Heyday is that a lot of the facialists are nervous to do extractions -- but this is why I am obsessed with Anush. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! I love the concept and highly curated selection of products but the receptionist was incredibly rude. I popped in to grab a sunscreen by Supergoop but they didn't carry the exact product I was looking for. I was open to trying something new but the receptionist didn't offer any guidance (or even a hello). Despite this, I figured while I'm here I should schedule a facial for the following week. I patiently waited while she was on the phone with another client, who she put on hold to check-in two other customers that just walked in. After checking them in she went back to her computer, ignoring me completely. I figured she was trying to schedule the client she had on hold, but after a minute or two of awkward idling I gave up and asked if I could book an appointment online. She looked up annoyed and replied with an icy, "ya." I was in no rush to be anywhere and had no problem waiting but her unnecessary attitude was such a turn off that I will neither shop or get facials here. read more

I'm shocked to see all of the good reviews! I thought that maybe Anush was new or inexperienced given how bad my facial was, but clearly many others had a different experience with her. Within the first five minutes of lying down, Anush was already trying to sell me on doing their shorter facials once a month (even though I told her I live in SF and get facials there regularly). She was also already telling me about products she wanted to sell me (sunscreen because "I can see with my naked eye that you have some pigmentation"). She was also telling me, "Ah I see that you marked that you get psoriasis/eczema. You have what we would call SENSITIVE SKIN." Yes, why yes, I do know I have sensitive skin--thanks so much. The facial felt like it just would not end. I just wanted to lie there in peace and let her do her thing, but she was strangely patronizing...? So bizarre. Even though I had explained that I've been getting facials regularly for all of my adult life, she would not stop talking and was literally quizzing me on everything she was putting on my face. "I'm putting xyz on your face. Do you know what that is?" "Yes." "What is it?" ABOUT EVERYTHING SHE PUT ON MY FACE FOR 75 MINUTES. After all of that, it was $165 (including tip) before I walked out the door. My skin looked okay the day of (not glowing or anything wonderful like that), but then the skin on my nose dried up and peeled off like a bad sunburn over the next week. I also developed scaly skin over the patch where she did extractions next to my lips, and I've been slathering on all the moisturizer I can find ever since. I've probably been to a dozen different places for facials and never had anything happen like that. It also didn't seem like an allergic reaction--just extreme dryness. Don't fall for the gimmicks of the hip decor and the electronic skin moisture meter (you can literally buy them for $18 online--this isn't some groundbreaking technology). The moisture reading doesn't mean anything if your skin peels off the next day! Maybe this is a cool place if you've never gotten a facial before, but I'm definitely never going back. read more

I have read and heard about the hype behind Heyday and was really excited to try it out. Customer service was cool and brownie points for having iPads and saving paper, but I was disappointed with almost the rest of my experience. I signed up for the 50 minute facial and got into the room and saw a pretty lame un-zen looking room. My technician didn't instruct me to take off my shirt, which I thought was weird and ultimately a little disappointing because it meant she was going to give no attention to my neck area. The actual products used during the facial were nice, but the towel over my eyes for the harsh light was hard to bear, and it would have been better if they used actual glasses or cloth rather than damp paper towels. There was no steam, just hot towels - another disappointment. But, the biggest issue was the noise. The walls didn't go to the ceiling and there were no doors, just curtains. I could hear the multiple loud conversations going on around me including in the waiting room/front entrance, and the many rooms around me. It was extremely distracting, annoying, and inappropriate for a $120 dollar facial. I have had a facial of comparable quality for $35 dollars at an aestheticians school and am happy to deal with the noise there - but not when I am paying full price for a facial in the NYC. Overall I am quite disappointed - but did leave a star because my aesthetician gave me a great scalp massage. read more

I booked a 75min appointment today at 6:30pm and wasn't able to get out of work on time. I called Heyday and being that I am so accustomed to companies canceling the booking and/or being charged I automatically tensed upwaiting to hear "sorry, we'll try to fit you in another day." To my surprise, I was still able to get a facial tonight... just less time. SCORE!!! I was serviced by Valeriya and she was the sweetest thing ever! I mean, she was gentle yet informative and very nice to talk to. I appreciated her ability to fully explain to me the in's and out's about my skin during the facial, but also giving me down time to really enjoy her service. Since my last facial was too many moons ago, I booked a 75 minute facial with Anush. It was the BEST facial ever. Period. It started with a fancy machine to gauge how dry my skin was. Then 2 cleansings, warm steamy towels, extractions(not that painful at all), custom mixed masks, serums, oh my!!! There were all kinds of bells and whistles. I felt truly pampered and didn't want to leave. Anush is extremely knowledgeable and will recommend the best plan for your skincare. I especially appreciate how she explained all the machines and products she used. She even gave me little tips and tricks. I finally know how long sunscreen lasts on your face. I'm African American.....I still have to use it The only thing that could make this business better is having a location in Brooklyn. Until then, me and my face are sticking with Anush. I usually go to the NoMad location and have a good experience, but I thought I'd try NoHo since it's closer to where I live. The women who have done my facials are usually very nice and I have a good, relaxing, time, but I'm pretty unhappy with my most recent facial. Coming into Heyday, I had a deep cystic pimple on my face that was definitely NOT ready to be popped. Unfortunately, my esthetician took it upon herself to remove it, and it left a nasty wound on my face. After she did that, all the following treatments really hurt and irritated that one spot on my face. When I went outside, even the friction from the wind would cause the spot on my face to hurt. I totally understand popping pimples that are ready to be popped, but this one was no where near close. I've been putting Neosporin on it after the facial and it looks like it's finally scarring over and healing, but it's definitely going to leave a mark, which is unfortunate because the spot is pretty big. I would probably go to Heyday again, but I'm a little more nervous now. I paid $160 to help my skin get a reset but now it looks even worse than before. read more

I have NEVER been a spa/beauty junkie. I barely used to do anything with my skin. I have struggled with hormonal acne for years, to the point of prescription treatments. HeyDay has helped me finally get my skin under control, without the help of chemicals. I love the value for the price, generally willingness of the team to educate you on your skin and answer ALL questions, and lack of pushing products. I look forward to my facial every month and only wish I could go more often. I tell everyone about HeyDay!! I've had a 50 minute facial with Janna once a month for almost 2 years and my skin has consistently become smoother and clearer since I started seeing her. When I first started going to Heyday, I tried out a handful of other aestheticians, all knowledgable and skilled, but I no longer sway. Janna is the best! Occasionally I come in with a bad break out or "congestion" and we talk through my routine and she makes thoughtful suggestions that she follows up on the following month. Janna is everything you want in an aesthetician - gentle, calming and sincerely concerned about your health and skin. And! she's a joy to hang out with for 50 mins! The rest of the staff at Heyday Noho is cheerful and kind and the location is decorated with soothing earth tones, all very well lit. I've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen. Not worth the money. The place is very noisy and not relaxing at all (you're not in separate rooms). The rooms are very dull and almost clinical like a doctors office. Giving 2 stars because my esthetician was fantastic and gave great advice. However, the space is extremely loud and not at all relaxing. My open room was right behind the receptionist and I could hear every word they spoke, the heavy front door slam open and close, the sink was right outside my door and I had the privilege of listening to someone wash dishes for 45 minutes, smack 3-4 fresh garbage bags open with gusto, and a whirlwind of people (maybe clydesdales?) stomp by. When the person at checkout asked how everything was and I told them it was very distracting they said "great!" LOL I went on to explain I will not be coming back because it was so loud and they said they hear that a lot, and that they are not a relaxing spa experience but an open concept facial place. I just came in for a facial, and was a bit disappointed. The actual facial service was ok, not bad, but I leave feeling like during it, I was a bit ignored and not "pampered" as well as I have been before. I was cold and wasn't offered any kind of blanket or covering. At other facials I have gotten, when a product is sitting on my skin, the esthetican will work on something else, or massage my shoulders or arms or something. Here, I was just left there in the room and ignored for minutes on end, just laying there in a cold, loud room. Also, it was just not a relaxing session at all. I went in at 8, and people were still loudly cleaning and moving around right outside the room I was in. There was no music playing, but halfway through my facial when it did start to play, it was overwhelming, and was just really disruptive to have the whole office being set up while I was supposed to be relaxing. I would normally get over that, but since I paid over $100 for a service today, I expect more out of it.
