Went to try the Heytea spot in Main street cupertino. I had heard a lot about this place. I ordered a Matcha cloud blue since I saw some orders before mine and this drink looked so pretty!! I wasn't disappointed at all. It tasted amazing.. so refreshing and balanced. The coconut jelly in the drink was so soft and tasted very fresh. Matcha cloud is their signature matcha cream cheese mix and it's amazing! This location is Inside Main St., Cupertino. The ambience is great, but it could get a little loud in here. So it's not an ideal place for work or having conversations. I went on a long weekend Monday so the wait times were crazy. Also, because they have online order pouring in constantly, when I got in there to place my order, they told me the wait time was 40 minutes! But totally worth the wait :) Highly recommend this cutest tea shop. I'd be going here again and trying the other drinks on the menu. read more

Cupertino can't get enuff balls. There's always a hot new boba shop opening with lines. Heytea, a Chinese tea chain has over 4,000 locations and is rapidly growing with upcoming Stonestown (SF) and Fremont locations. The drinks have been pretty consistent across the five locations I've tried in the bay. Drinks aside, their Cupertino location? OOOF. It's SO poorly managed and disorganized. It's been 5 months since they opened and IMO, it's still a hot mess (at least on the weekends). It's a stressful job so it's not on the young staff... it's a management issue. (+) Largest location with plentiful indoor and outdoor seating (keeps us coming back). (+) Dog-friendly. (-) Staff look stressed and unhappy. (-) HELLA slow (despite many staff). Drinks take forever. When ordering on the app, they're always running way behind the ETA. (-) Poor inventory control; e.g. the Kale Boost has been out 6 out of my 7 visits. (-) Dirty, sticky tables and the floor near the courtyard entrance is always wet. I've nearly slipped and have seen multiple employees slip but catch their fall. I didn't plan on posting a review but on my last visit, they were out of EVERYTHING except plain tea. No toppings. They were out of every single one. No cloud cream. No fruits. No veggies. Cashier said, they wouldn't get a shipment for another 3-4 days. There was no sign posted outside to notify customers. No note/nothing crossed out on the menu. Online ordering was off. This review is only about the cleanliness in this store. When I went on a Thursday afternoon, there was no soap or paper towels. Additionally, they ran out of toilet paper (notice all the napkins scattered on the floor). I would say maybe 10 minutes? The interior is clean with lots of seating, they also have a small patio area. Got the Kale Slim Boost tea and thought it was a perfect pick-me-up refresher for mid day. This store keeps messing up our orders! This is the second time back to back in the last two weeks. Last time I went to pickup my order after the app said it was ready. I went to pick it up 20 min after and it wasn't there. They said they might've tossed it because it was too long??? Today Aug 23 evening I ordered three drinks. Two of the drinks were ready but one wasn't. We asked about it after 20 more minutes of waiting. They finally went to check and told me they'll remake it. But they didn't prioritize it...and put it in order behind the other drinks. Then when it was finished it was sitting behind the counter for another 5-8 minutes not being pushed along... HeyTea caught our attention and when a boba and tea café takes up an entire building in the middle of Cupertino Square, it definitely stands out and invites you to give it a try. The place has a striking, modern mid-century vibe and is well-lit inside. Since it was a cloudy evening and starting to get dark, it almost felt like we were peering into a glass house. We didn't realize we needed the HeyTea app to order, but the staff at the counter were very helpful and placed our order for us. My wife chose the Matcha Coconut Cloud Blue, while I went with a Triple Supreme Matcha Latte...clearly, we were in a matcha mood and wanted something refreshing, not too heavy, after a ramen dinner. I have already been here for so many times. Their menu has some standard items and some really interesting ones. So far, I like jasmine milk tea and the mango drink the best. I have tried some special berry one and that was great too. Cashiers there are always very patient and explain the menu well to us. But I have to say the wait is really long. My second time at heytea and so far it's been good, the drinks taste healthier and not as sugar laden, but use real ingredients like real mango. My only gripe is with heytea is that the menu isn't on display for everyone to see, it's only by the register so you don't know what you want (unless you've been here before). Also there's no description of what each one is on the menu. So ordering takes extra long and the lines can be crazy. This could all be remedied with menus on the tv screens, not just by the register. Overall tho, the drinks are delicious. The drinks looked nice, but they were very watery and lacked flavor -- I could barely taste the jasmine or any creaminess from the milk. For the price (around $6.50 each, plus the extra charge), I expected something much more balanced and aromatic. I never thought I'd come to this location because this plaza is notoriously busy and parking is so difficult to find. On a Monday afternoon, however, parking was not too bad! No matter which location (we've been to Milpitas, Sunnyvale and Cupertino), there will always be a line. Download the app and try ordering through there if you're in a pinch. We've tried most of the matcha drinks, and as a matcha girlie, these are just kinda OK. My partner likes their milk teas, which are good too, but I prefer elsewhere for milk teas. What I love getting here is the coconut mango boom. I usually get it less sweet or no sweetness at all because the mango itself is already so flavorful and sweet. There is the perfect balance of coconut milk/cream as well, and the star of the show are the coconut jellies/pudding. As far as location, this is probably our go-to location because of parking and seating. There is usually ample seating inside, or seating outside nearby and parking has been 'easier' to find. Probably not the best idea to stop by during lunch, though as it took around 45 minutes just to order and get our drinks. I went with my usual, the Coconut Mango Boom (less sweet), and the flavor was consistent with other locations. The only downside was the coconut milk jelly, it was on the firm side which was off putting for me.. so I ended up drinking everything else and left the jelly to toss away. Hopefully they smooth out the rough edges soon because I'd love to make this location a regular stop. read more

I came here maybe a week or two after the big grand opening. There was a coming soon sign at this location for around a year after the pasta place closed. There was a giant line during the grand opening, which I avoided even though I live 5 minutes away. I decided to grab a drink after working out at orange theory. I waited in line for maybe 15 minutes on a week night. I wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes in line for this. I got the mulberry boom which tasted nice and sweet and not artificial at all. It's a unique drink, haven't gotten a mulberry drink anywhere else. It was good but not worth waiting in the grand opening line for. I'm glad that the lines have died down. One employee took my phone number, then walked away without entering our order, so another employee had to ask for it again. When they realized the mistake, there wasn't much of an apology. The most disappointing part was that we originally ordered a blended drink, but because they had already washed the blender, they said they wouldn't remake it blended. We ended up with basically juice loaded with toppings instead of the drink we ordered. Mistakes happen, but better communication and customer service would have made a big difference. read more

I get that a business can have a bad day, but this place really needs to work on their business practices. I put in my order on their app at 12:03 with an estimated wait time of 10 minutes. Twenty minutes later, I notice people who ordered in store after me getting their drinks before me. A staff member confirmed that my order was received. Another ten minutes later, I check again. It turns out their printer ran out of paper, so while the app orders were received, they weren't being processed. The manager said they even had their staff arrive early knowing that the moon festival was happening in the plaza. He also mentioned that they ran out of ice or their ice machine broke. I really wish they offered to comp my drink (or even offer me a voucher for next time to entice me to come back) for wasting my time--I have places to be! Additionally, I used their restroom 10 minutes after store opening, and they were already out of soap and paper towels. What exactly did staff do with their time arriving early? I will not be returning. Though their drink quality is good, they don't have a ton of drink options, nor do they have dairy free milk. The focus is on providing an elevated tea experience with signature premium teas and fresh fruits. HeyTea popularized cheese tea which is now a staple at many bubble tea stores. HeyTea is a must visit for any bubble tea enjoyer. Yes, the lines are long. Yes, the prices can be high. But what you get in return is deliciousness in a cup. Maybe I'm going crazy or perhaps I'm romanticizing a bit, but l do feel as the quality is not the same now. Having tried HeyTea on multiple continents (Asia, Australia, etc.) over the years, either the magic has slightly worn off or perhaps it was inevitable that as they grew, some things would slip through the cracks. That being said, the quality is still top notch but it doesn't seem as unmatched as before. The Cupertino location took forever to open but it's finally here; as with others, it's not super large but it's cute and spotless. Also since the crazy deals from the initial opening are now gone, hopefully the lines will die down. This location also currently has a unique drink - iYerba! Overall, HeyTea remains one of the top bubble tea chains and the long lines are a testament of the hype. read more

The Cupertino location is one of Hey Tea's most recent expansions into the Bay. The hype has evidently not died down, the line extends out the door even on hot summer days! The location is perfect, it took over the old Il Fornaio on Main Street Cupertino. Main Street has a handful of milk tea locations and Hey Tea is the newest jewel in its crown. I ordered my typical green grape boom with less sugar and brown sugar boba, and the quality is great here. The fruit drinks here are the best and I will continue to write home about them. They occasionally turn off online ordering during periods with high traffic, but I would highly recommend ordering on the app so that pick up can be expedited. The pick up time is not always accurate and the numbers on the TV are not either, so I highly recommend going up and checking for yourself. read more

Tip: although parking can be tight due to the other shops conveniently in the area like Peet's Coffee and SomiSomi, use the parking structure. Tried the Mulberry Strawberry Boom- loved the aesthetic cup and the fresh mulberry. Amazing tart flavor. I got this less sweet and this was just right for me. I was amazed by the burst of flavor. Also tried the Mango Grapefruit Boom- less of slush compared to the Strawberry Boom but has a lot more substance ie tapioca like pearls, coconut jelly, and bits of mango and grapefruit. This was more suitable if you're going for more of dessert rather than a fruity drink. I still enjoyed though and it's equally refreshing but does have more of toppings than fruit pieces. This Jasmine tea is not as strong as Molly Tea's but still good. I think Heytea is more known for their fruit teas and slushes if you ask me. The grape booms and mango drinks are tasty. The decoration inside is comfortable, airy, refreshing. The drink menu is good, it has their signature matcha series, the fruit tea has mulberry which is healthy and rare and tasty. The kale tea is also yum even when it's 0 sugar. It's all good until we want to get the special fridge magnet. We had to write a review on the spot in either Google or Instagram and show them the post as proof. For that I deduct half a star.
