I stopped by the San Jose location recently. It's definitely way less crowded than the Sunnyvale spot where the line is always out the door. Just a heads up though, parking is pretty tight here. I actually ended up parking in a plaza across the street, so it's not the easiest quick grab-and-go spot. Inside, there's a ton of standing room but not a lot of tables to actually sit and hang out. It looked like they were in the middle of unpacking with some boxes by the door, so it's definitely more of a grab-your-drink-and-leave kind of vibe. The service took a little minute even though it wasn't super busy, but no biggie. As for the drinks, the Mango Frostie Smoothie is so good. It had the perfect creaminess and sweetness (I'd give it a solid 7.6/10). Tip: give it a mix before you start drinking! A bummer was that they didn't serve the cold drinks in clear cups. Half the fun of a mango smoothie is the aesthetic, so it kinda took away from the visual appeal, but honestly, it still tasted great. I wish they had more flavors in their frostie lineup, but I'd get it again. The strawberry one is next on my list! I also grabbed the Sunright Boba Milk Tea, but it was just okay--pretty much your standard, OG milk tea (6.9/10). It's good to try once, but I probably wouldn't get it again. Their pearls are nice and chewy though, even if Xing Fu Tang is still my favorite for boba pearls. Even with the parking hassle, I'd be back to try some other drinks like their Oreo cream brulee! read more

I'm honestly pretty disappointed with the customer service I experienced tonight. I called the store about 10 minutes before closing because I knew I'd be arriving close to closing time and didn't want to inconvenience the staff. I asked if it was still okay to order when I got there, and the person on the phone told me to place the order through the website. The website order didn't work, so I came in a few minutes before closing to order in person. When I started ordering, I was told they had already thrown out the boba. I explained that I had just called and said I was on my way, but they claimed they never spoke to me and suggested I must have called another location. I had looked up the number for this specific store and know for a fact that I didn't. On top of that, they told me they were closing in less than a minute, even though I had already arrived earlier and could have ordered sooner if I hadn't been having that conversation with them. They did end up making the drinks, which I appreciate, but the staff were clearly annoyed about it and the interaction felt unnecessarily rude. I completely understand that closing time can be busy, but denying a phone conversation and making a customer feel like they're lying is not okay. Hands down my favorite boba place in the Bay Area. The black sugar boba and honey boba are both nice and chewy and a good size. They also have a green tea jelly topping that's really good. I haven't had that anywhere else, so I think it's pretty unique. Three of their customer favorites: 1) Sunright boba milk tea, 2) mango jasmine tea, 3) mango frostie. I love both of them. The milk tea is perfect with just the right amount of tea flavor, and I like that the boba is included in the drink. Toppings are so expensive nowadays. The mango jasmine tea also has a nice tea flavor--not too weak and not too strong. The mango frostie is perfectly refreshing for a hot day--and it comes with matcha jelly/dried mango! Sunright is my favorite tea place. It's the only one I've ever been to where you actually taste the tea in the drink unlike all the others where you get a very sweet drink with may/may not be made with any tea. My go-to drink is the Lemon Jasmine green tea with no fruit. This just means they remove the lemon wedges in your drink. The sweetness level is pretty accurate so 100% just means "normal" sweetness. My wife's favorite is the Mango Jasmine green tea and since they add quite a bit of mango puree, you can throttle down the sweetness to 50% and it'll be about right. This location is kinda out of the way but it's still closer than the Milpitas location so parking can be challenging. Wish they would open a location closer to south SJ so I can get my weekly tea fix. read more

I was looking for a place near me that had black sugar milk tea and was so excited when I found Sunright Tea Studio as I've heard good things about this place. A chance to try it out, awesome! First off - parking is horrible. It's located on a busy intersection with a very small and tight parking lot shared by a few businesses, including a nail salon. I suggest parking across the street and walking over, unless you are extremely lucky and are there just as someone leaves. When I walked in, there were two kiosks located on the left hand side to order your drinks. You can take your time and browse if this is your first time here, which I did. Unfortunately, none of the workers seemed inclined to answer any questions I had about the drinks. I found the black sugar milk and realized it was just milk and not actual tea. So I ended up ordering the Sunright milk tea instead and also indulged in ordering some choco mochi paws (how cute!). After ordering, I sat down and waited for my order to be called. About 5-7 minutes later, one of the workers called a number, but I couldn't hear what it was. I looked up to see if they would repeat the number or make any indication of what the order was, but I got nothing. I waited for a bit longer, then noticed that they had a system for picking up orders on the counter. Okay, cool. I'll just go over and see if mine was up. My order was sitting there when I walked up, but none of the workers said anything. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to check in with them or anything before taking my order, but since no one looked over or asked if I needed help, I figured I was free to take it and leave. The boba milk tea was subpar - I went with recommended settings on sugar/ice and it was very lite flavor wise. You couldn't taste the sugar or much tea at all. The pearls were decent, but lacked any flavor. The mochi paws were cute and warm - but tough and chewy and not in a good way. It felt like there was too much flour mixed in when the batter was made and therefore lacked the fluffy chewy texture of mochi. I ended up throwing away half of them... And I usually never throw away dessert! Overall - 1 star off for the (lack of) customer service and 1 star off for the tea/mochi I tried. The store was clean and nicely decorated. I was going to be near the San Jose Rose Garden, so decided to order from Sunright while I was in the area. Coincidentally, Sunright currently has a limited time special of two drinks - Kay's strawberry jasmine tea with grass jelly, and Edgeworth's oolong milk tea and brown sugar boba. Each order comes with a limited edition Ace Attorney sticker. Edgeworth's oolong milk tea and brown sugar boba, 25% sweetness, no ice, house milk: 3/5 It was not that sweet which was what I intended, but I feel the tea flavor was not strong enough since it was overpowered by the milk. White peach oolong cheese foam: 4/5 My partner ordered this so I got to try this as well. I thought the white peach oolong was pretty good, I could make out the fruity taste but I still wished the oolong was stronger. However, the creama/cheese foam is really yummy, savory and salty. Once I had finished off the drink, I scraped the remaining cheese foam off of the lid and sides of the cup since a lot of it didn't mix properly with the drink. I have noticed in general I find Sunright drinks to have too weak of a tea flavor for my personal preference. I think oolong in general tends to be milder in flavor too, so it's more easily overpowered by dairy. That's my main disappointment with the drinks, but if you prefer your drinks milder in flavor, then you might like these. Prices for some of the more standard teas are okay compared to average for the area (in the $5-6 range), there's currently some seasonal peach-flavored drinks that I was eyeing, but those are more expensive ($6+). read more

Over the past few years of having tried Sunlight Tea my expectations were held high because every drink I had ever gotten from there was great! However, just as Cinderella when the clock strikes 12 or in this case 11:45 AM all of the magic wore off only leaving her with one glass slipper. My glass slipper from today was the Cheese foam here which was creamy, light, and smooth which I really enjoyed. I had just gotten my eyebrows done and was walking myself out scrolling through yelp in search of a boba spot near by. As I kept on walking I just looked up and there it was.... on the corner of the street in big letters across the front which said, "Sunlight Tea Studio" and my prayers were answered within seconds but without a Fairy Godmother. I walked in and. was welcomed by one of the staff members which was nice, but they were all sitting in a circle together, looking bored, on their phones, doing nothing which made me think, "wow, Such enthusiasm". while I was waiting sitting on the bench was um.... a... Scare Crow??? im not lying here the man must have mistaken the yellow bright interior for the Yellow Brick Road because he was without Dorthy, The Lion, and The Tin Man to help guide him. I I kept staring at it thinking and worried I was being rude, because what if there was an actual person in there? I felt bad for staring for so long but I was finally able to asses and identified that there was no one wearing the scare crow as a costume. Here they have those self ordering touch screen things where you can order from. I decided to order a combo with their Chocolate Mochi Waffles and a drink of my choice. I ordered the Brown Sugar Milk Tea with Cheese Foam. My order came out quickly and having nothing else to do with myself for the day, I sat down and opened the box of their Mochi Waffles that look like cat paws which were all covered in chocolate syrup....I had no idea that the waffles were going to be toped with chocolate cream instead of filled with it. I was pretty disappointed and the mochi waffles weren't anything special or to die for. My drink was absolutely terrible. I ordered the drink with less ice, the recommended milk, and half sugar. it tasted very watered down and it really disappointed me because my expectations were held higher because of my previous experiences. Usually when you think of your milk tea you would expect something sweet, creamy, and refreshing which my order had any of these characteristics. Came here for the duration of 3/31/24- 4/15/24 I was able to wait in line and get the SVIP card for $20 which came with a cute mug. The card contains 15 free boba, thus this review will be based the drinks I ordered and my overall experience... (also I like honey boba and have a sweet tooth so most of my drink includes honey boba w 100% sweetness) Matcha Brulee latte 4/5 (got it with organic fresh milk)-- I shook the drink 17 times and all the brulee was gone.. so I was unable to really taste it. Maybe it was the brulee but the matcha was not as strong as I thought it was, but the drink was overall tasty. Matcha red bean frostie 5/5 love the matcha flavor. the outside was also coated w matcha burelee which was an additional pulse. Any typical frostie drink is good for a hot day. Matcha Strawberry 4/5- It was alright... for some reason, I did not quiet like the strawberry taste. Definitely have to try again to see but not a super fan. Grapefruit jasmine tea 5/5 Although I ordered 100% sweetness, it was not that sweet, but I like the grapefruit and jasmine taste and it was not bitter. The drink also included several slices of real grapefruit. Mango milk tea 5/5 I surprisingly like it. It tastes like any typical mango milk tea, can taste the mango. No mango chunks so the drink is prob made with mango puree. Mango Yakult 5/5 Was really good but I don't think it's worth the price as it contains mango pure, water, sugar, and ONE Yakult... Jasmine Yakult 3/5 A little aftertaste and the Yakult in this drink... hahaha. always separates w the tea. It looks so bad and does not taste 100% good. I was struggling. Recommend taking out the slices as it take up space esp when you want to add toppings. Red bean Frosti 4/5 - not my favorite frostie. The red beans are so hard to drink and its really hard in the end. Had high hopes for it just missed. Oreo Brulee boba milk 4.5/5 - an excellent drink for non-caffeinated and for kids. VERY VERY sweet. Hey but we all love Oreo Four-season latte 5/5 - my go-to every time. got it w brulee this time which was nice and creamy. It's got a nice unique flavor and I love. Overall, this was a great way to try out other drinks that I normally don't go for (4 season and taro MT). The location is honestly not the best, sometimes it is hard to get parking due to the small parking lot. However, there is seatings, but the parking time limit is 2 hrs ... While I was waiting for my sister to get her tattoo done, I saw that Sunright was nearby, so I walked over for some boba. It was not too busy on a Sunday around 2 PM. Once you walk in, you order on the monitors on the side. I usually get the sunright fruit tea with honey boba at 50% sweetness. It's so refreshing. I do feel like with the orange slices, it takes up space so I feel like I am not getting enough tea. Regardless, I still go back to Sunright for a quick pick me up! So happy to have Sunright near us! This spot was originally an Italian bakery that also had gelato but unfortunately, they didn't survive the pandemic. When we saw the COMING SOON sign for the Sunright Tea, we were so excited because the only location at the time as in Sunnyvale. We love coming to this location since it's not only close by but also across the street from Safeway and McDonalds. So there have been a few times where we would get some groceries from Safeway and drop by Sunright before heading home. So it's super conveniently placed on San Carlos! Another convenience they have is online ordering! So we can place an order and pick it up quickly and not have to wait for it. The interior is always clean and always pretty festive during the holidays which is really nice! They even at one point had a small claw machine but I think it's gone now. Our go-to drinks are the Sunright Boba Milk Tea, Chocolate Oreo Brulee, Cream Pudding Milk Tea, Brown Sugar Boba Milk, Creme Brulee Boba Milk, Oreo Brulee Boba Milk, Pudding Boba Milk, and the Matcha Milk Tea. Glad to also mention that they have hot drinks too! This location also has little mochi waffles and they're really good! Very soft, chewy, and has a hint of sweetness. You just need to wait a bit for them to be made. There's really nothing I can really complain about regarding the shop, but my only beef is with their parking lot. It's SO SMALL. They also share a parking lot with a nail salon in the back, 2 small businesses in the front, and a barber shop upstairs (Paradox). The barber shop is well-known, especially on social media. Unfortunately, this barber shop has guys who will just hang out and not even get a haircut so the parking lot is sometimes filled up with loud, modded cars. I have no hate against the car scene since I grew up around the car scene. I know that all the car guys want a place to just chill, but unfortunately this plaza ain't it for them. Overall, the parking lot is just too small. There were a few times when we had to park across the street at the back of the Walgreens. Thank you Bella for the recommendation ! Finally! A Sunright Tea Studio in San Jose! They have a large selection of different teas and slushie (frap like drinks). Ambiance of the place is great! - Parking is a little tough to find so parking across at Walgreens or Safeway is better! - I do wish they had aloe as a topping, I would've definitely made our fruity tea taste even better. After purchasing a VIP stamp card at the grand opening, I've successfully redeemed 15 free drinks from Sunright SJ, and a $25 gift card after the final day! Although some days were busier than others, their service was pretty fast every time I've visited. Ordering was very easy and quite a few tables were always open. Depending on how many customers there are, the store can get pretty loud. The only difficult thing was parking, which is really a struggle on weekends. Off the menu, my favorite drinks were the Oreo Brulee latte, matcha oat milk latte, jasmine tea, and mango red bean smoothie. Would def recommend! read more
