Heze replaced the battery cables in my car. It seemed expensive but I didn't complain. I just paid the bill and thanked him. He then offered to return my extra battery that I had bought from AutoZone. I said OK. A month later I went in to get my refund and he pretended not to know what I was talking about at first, but then after a while said oh "OK no problem. I'll take care of it." Two weeks later I went back and he says he can't return it and I should take it back now. WTF? I never asked him to return it. It was his idea. He offered to do it and took the battery out of my car. read more

Y JEEP had a headlight issue which kept me from being able to drive at night so I needed it fixed quickly and Nadav was able to get me on the road right away. Had my radiator and thermostat replaced for my Jeep Cherokee with the 3.2L Pentastar after the radiator started leaking. I was looking for someone specifically with some expertise working with Jeeps as it seemed sometimes the FCA engines can be peculiar and the parts can be a little trickier to find. Anyway, took my car here after reading other reviews are very happy with the repair. Was done quickly and a bit under the initial estimate even. And Hezi was friendly and communicative of the process. I don't live in LA (was visiting my folks), but if I did, I think this would be my go-to shop for my Jeep. Seems folks with Jeep expertise is a bit rare (at least in my neck of the woods further north). read more

Stopped by in need of finding a solution to my cars coolant not reaching my engine and overheating my car (I drive a 2005 Mercedes C240) Hezi was very accommodating and reminded me a lot of my relatives in the way he worked, his son is also very cool. He told me it was around $200 for a diagnostic in which he allowed me to leave a down payment and pay the rest when the job was finished. It turned out he diagnosed me with needing a new water heater hose which he recommended I buy from a nearby Mercedes dealership. It ended up costing only around $50 for the part and the other $150 for the rest of the diagnostic cost. Hezi was always responsive on the phone and held the car until I was ready to stop by and pick up. I'd give 5 stars but the only issue was that the entire problem wasn't fully diagnosed as my car had a leak near the radiator fan that wasn't found until later which was a big waste of time and it didn't allow me to drive to a job I had that weekend. Overall though very good work in terms of efficiency and honesty. Thanks again Hezi. read more

If you have a Jeep - whether a CJ YJ TJ XJ JK or JL - this is your place. They work on all model cars, but they really know their Jeeps! Hezi and his son Nadav are great mechanics. They are fair and reasonable, they don't encourage you to fix things that aren't broken, they always answer the phone, and most importantly they know jeeps, wranglers, and cherokees. I recently had my 1986 CJ7 worked on by these guys. These are simple cars but you really want someone who knows how to work on them. These guys know their jeeps! They replaced all of my running gear, did a rear differential swap for me, and rebuilt all my wheel hubs with fresh bearings and seals, and did new front brake pads and rear drum brake wheel cylinders. We went with all new factory-style suspension components and upgraded shocks. After an initial inspection, we made a plan and they let me purchase all of my own parts and bring them. New crown leaf springs, shackles, hangers, u bolts, steering stabilizer, and bilstein shocks. While Hezi replaced all my fluids, oil change, transmission fluid, differentials, and transfer case, he identified that on my rear differential, a factory "trac-loc" LSD - had a clutch pack plate that had slipped out of the retaining ring and was wearing down my differential housing. He sent me a picture, and then gave me several options to fix it. I ended up purchasing a new differential housing and spider gears online and he was able to rebuild the differential with those parts and re-use my other parts. Hezi knows a lot about rear ends and differentials. He probably charged me half of what other shops wild have charged me to swap a differential. While my Jeep CJ7 was there they had several other Jeeps they were working on, and were doing some pretty cool lifts and off road suspension work. Nadav, Hezi's son, knows a lot about Jeep lift kits. Even though I kept my CJ at factory height, if I was going to do a suspension lift or modification, these were the guys I would go to. Most importantly, the jeep drives great, and they told me to bring it back in 3 weeks so they can double check all the suspension after I break it in. read more

Let me tell you, Hezi and his son are the best! As a woman, finding a good mechanic can be a difficult task. I've had numerous horrible experiences with sexist mechanics who have not been honest. At Firestone, I was literally told "I'm not even going to try to explain this to you." Hezi, spoke to me like someone with a brain who could understand how a car works and what the problems are. I wanted to cry as I told him "Thank you for just explaining it to me so I can understand." not only that, pricing is on point! I've never felt like I was getting ripped off, everything is extremely fair! You almost want to pay more just because you're so grateful to not have broken the bank. Hezi was recommended by a friend and he and his son were awesome. I live really close and couldn't even get my car out of the garage because of a clutch issue where it wouldn't go into reverse. I live about a mile from his shop so he offered to come see if he could get it pulled out and drive it and of course, he was able to because he knew what to do to get it going but it still needed a repair. He said he wanted to save me the tow since I was so close and he had the time. Now that's service. I did go very first thing when they opened, before they got busy. As the owner of an (almost) 40 year old, lifted/4x4, and very customized van, it's safe to say that at this point I'm a good judge of mechanics. With that being said, Hezi has been my go-to mechanic in LA since buying the van 4 years ago. Hezi is incredibly gifted and knows his way around any type of vehicle, regardless of it's age. That isn't to be taken lightly in LA, where mechanics who know how to work on rare or customized vehicles are tough to come by. He actively tries to save you money by telling you what needs to be done cheaply or not, and also what needs to be done ASAP vs what can be done in a year. No job is too big or too small for him as well. I've had him do things as small as changing oil and as big as replacing the engine. Safe to say that i would highly recommend him to anyone. read more

I don't usually write yelp reviews, but I had to write one for Hezi Auto Repair. Long story short, my girlfriend's car broke down in the middle of the street, and luckily, we saw Hezi's Auto Repair. We ran in asking for help and without hesitation, Hezi and his son came out and began pushing the car to safety and out of traffic's way. After that, they suspected that the car ran out of gas, and provided a bucket to fill up from a gas station. I came back with a bucket filled with gas and Hezi personally poured it into the gas tank. Shortly after, the car turned on and began running. However, as soon as the car started, Hezi's son noticed a leak was occurring. We immediately turned the car off and the son came out with a fire extinguisher - luckily it wasn't necessary. Moments later, Hezi and his team lifted the car up, determined exactly what was wrong, and indicated where the leak was coming from. Ultimately, Hezi and his crew provided amazing service and besides that they rushed to an ongoing emergency before pricing was even mentioned, which by the way was definitely beyond reasonable! It is rare to find a skilled and honest mechanic, and it is even more rare to come across good-hearted people.
