In all…read moremy years of moving -- including multiple long‑distance moves -- I have never experienced service as consistently unacceptable as what your company provided. My dining room table was severely damaged. I was given incorrect information about the packing process, which resulted in substantial and unexpected fees. An Apple TV device was misplaced by the moving team and has not been recovered. The movers chipped my TV and Peloton screens. Additionally, the head of the moving crew repeatedly pressured me for excessive tips, creating an uncomfortable and inappropriate environment. I was referred to Alpha Moving by my realtor, and I have already advised her to stop recommending them to clients. Based on this experience, I would not use Alpha Moving again under any circumstances.

However, note the following: Packing and moving services were both utilized. Representative came to review primary location of belongings to be moved (approx. 90-95% of the total) and was provided with a detailed video of the remaining items, stored at a different location. Despite this upfront information, (a) the total weight was significantly in excess of the estimated amount, resulting in damage to the transport vehicle and a 2-day delay, and (b) at the secondary location the supervisor informed us that there was insufficient room for everything. He had to be cajoled and convinced into making the extra effort... which proved effective and successful. A number of bookcases were damaged during while handling and required subsequent repair, at our expense. One item was a tool cabinet containing a variety of hand tools, hardware, and the like. The crew's solution to this was to simply wrap and seal the cabinet in plastic, and put it in the truck. By the time it was in place at the destination, we found that the contents were in utter chaos, luckily with minimal breakage. Some softbound oversized books were placed in boxes haphazardly or sloppily, resulting in significant creasing of wide swaths of pages. A few items additional appear to have gone missing (none of particular value) and a small number of items were broken. Overall I would in fact recommend their services, particularly in consideration of the pricing, but I would strongly recommend that if you contact them for packing services that these be closely and carefully supervised.

During the Thanksgiving holiday window they picked up several roomfuls of furniture and art from my Grandma's house in New Jersey and delivered the property to Virginia without leaving behind damage or packaging. As I am active duty in the USN, it is difficult to coordinate with service providers during g work hours. Lou and his guys met me on a Saturday morning. They delivered a truckload of furniture in just a couple hours. As an added challenge, my (basement) apartment is down a narrow, steep, concrete staircase and the entrance is through my kitchen. A two part review…read more.. Met up with Lou Pensa back in April to get a free estimate for our moving needs. First off was what we were taking from our home. Then I had to escort him to the storage unit that we've been using since last November. Our move took place over a couple of days. An hour and 1/2 with four guys for the storage unit on Monday. It was two offloading the 12 x 10 space, while the other two uploading their truck. Then this past Wednesday 5 guys took care of our home. The key here is getting that Parking permit that was recommended by Lou. It only cost us $30 for the day. If you don't have a driveway and or garage this is definitely the way to go. It was right in front of our home and good from 8-4. Only took them another 3 hours total to empty out the house and delivery to our new condo. Butch was the chief both days and did a fabulous job with his crew along with Carlos, Carlito and Mike. Thanks guys for making this an easy move.
