Signature Window & Door Replacement - Marvin Infinity Fiberglass With White Interior

    Signature Window & Door Replacement

We called our project "The Window From Hell." It was a HUGE trapezoid window up high in a 2-story…read moreliving room, and it needed to be replaced after its seal failed. I got bids, and was the most impressed with Danny L at Signature Windows. We had a tight deadline because the home was going on the market and access to the window, especially in the rain, was really challenging. Meeting the deadline, and the safety of the installers, were non-negotiable. Danny came out the very next day to measure the Window From Hell and, not only did he give me the best price, but his company was the only one that had all the scaffolding equipment readily available at no extra charge. The window arrived sooner than expected, and installation was quickly scheduled to meet the deadline. Then we hit a snag: some epic rain made the cedar roof too slippery for safe conditions. Brent and his crew of expert (and very brave) installers rigged up a safe way to haul this brand-new Mother of ALL Windows up to the second floor and install it using very long ladders, secure scaffolding, and harnesses. I think we had 4 or 5 installers for this job. It took all day to get the old Window From Hell out and the new Mother of All Windows installed. But what a job! Perfect caulk lines, perfect cleaning of the glass, perfect clean-up of the job site, indoors and out. Job done ON TIME, SAFELY, and at an excellent price. If Signature can handle my Window From Hell, I am very confident they can install ordinary double-hung windows that exceed your expectations for quality, price, timeliness, and workmanship. I highly recommend Signature Windows.

Second, they are balanced, and open and close smoothly. And third, and perhaps most importantly, the bifold doors aren't falling off the tracks anymore. Replacing the hardware was also a huge improvement, with levers that are easier to use. Eric and his team did such a great job with installation, and I really appreciated all of the suggestions. Several of the door frames weren't standard, and rather than ordering custom doors, Eric suggested reframing the opening, which saved us a lot of money. Another closet wasn't the standard depth, and Eric designed a closet with built-in shelves that work perfectly for the space and for storage. I couldn't be happier with the work, and I highly recommend Seattle Doors & Closets.

We suspected this would be an expensive project, so for years, we just put it off. Finally, last year we decided to get it done. In addition to the closet doors, we also replaced 5 interior doors for "free" (I say "free" because there were other costs associated with the interior doors). Yes, this was an expensive project--there's no sugarcoating that. BUT, it was worth it. Someone comes out for initial measurements. Then, you go to the showroom to pick your doors, and get a breakdown in pricing. The cost of the doors adds up quickly (e.g. knobs, installation cost, etc.). But, they're not trying to pressure you into anything. Once you place the order, it takes several weeks for the doors to come. In the meantime, someone comes back out to do more precise measurements. The install took a full day and a couple of hours the next day. After watching them work through some challenges with the install (e.g., crooked walls), I began to understand why it costs so much. I mean, I don't think we would've gotten close to the same results going with a big box hardware store. It's been about a year, and our doors still look great. We just wish we would've tackled this project sooner!

My house had original 30 year-old Milgard window's and I prioritize quality over price. Oleg was able to get out to me right away, he sent me a quote and we initiated the order. Everyone at Kot's was so great we requested a quote for replacing the rest of the windows in the original structure which were installed last week. The whole team was fantastic to work with from start to finish. I had a lot of quotes, some cheaper but none with the level of integrity and pride in their service that I found at Kot's. Thank you Oleg, Daniel, and the crew.

Ivan was even able to address our misaligned original window trim. Now our drafty house feels sealed and quiet, with a noticable decrease in the time the heater is running. Kirill was responsive to any questions and worked with us to resolve a misunderstanding of weekend scheduled work. After months of going back and forth trying to verify details regarding sound reduction, and adding a header to make the doors we wanted feasible, we place an order for doors that we thought would allow us to have a functional closed office space/guest room. It took about 3-4 months to produce and install, which was just a bit later than promised but not unexpected. The friendly installers came in early December and installed the doors in one day. They look fantastic in the space, just as promised. However, installers left the baseboard cut up and raw, and didn't leave the pieces so we could fix it ourselves and the doors would not properly close. The door frames bowed considerably and the base wheels were also improperly installed in the doors. I notified customer service immediately of the issues. It took two or three emails to get any response and they kept putting off scheduling repairs. When I posted a negative review (which seems to have been deleted), they promptly scheduled a repair. The repair addressed the gap in the middle, but not the wheel, baseboard or bowing issue. We were tired of dealing with getting the issue resolved so we decided to let it go and do our best to work with it. Unfortunately, that was not the end. Now, two months after the 'repair', the doors actually open on their own 3-4" immediately after they are closed. So they no longer function as doors. I'd be happy to change my review if the product we paid for is repaired or replaced so it will function like a sliding door should. We may actually have to move houses or pay someone to remove and install an entirely different product since we were relying on doors that fully close for our current house to function for us as our family grows.
