Nice selection of baked goods and the quality itself is solid. It's fresh, well presented, and flavorful. The golden cream loaf was absolutely delightful. Unfortunately, the service doesn't quite match the product. It felt a bit inattentive and lacked the warmth you'd expect. With a more welcoming and engaged staff, this place could easily elevate the overall experience.

    French Custard Egg Tart

3/6/2026 First time at Hi Bake. Wasn't planning on dropping by, but since I was in the area, I thought I'd give it a try. Caramel Mochi Egg Tart I ate this first and this was delicious! The mochi layer was thick enough to enjoy the chewy layer alongside the flaky, crispy tart shell. There wasn't any caramel flavor in the egg custard, but I liked that there was no eggy flavor in it. And the egg custard was creamy and had a velvety texture to it. Very well done and very enjoyable! I would get this again! French Custard Egg Tart Flaky, crispy texture of the multi-layered tart shell. But the egg custard tasted eggy and had that raw egg smell with an eggy flavor. I know some people don't mind that, but I don't. Wish I got a different flavor, but was told this was their most popular flavor, so thought I'd try it. Somehow this egg custard was not as velvety in texture in comparison to the Caramel Mochi Egg Tart. Customer Service The person helping me was nice, patient and helped me decide what to get. Seats There are a few tables in front of the bakery to sit and enjoy your pastries. However, there are many more tables and seats at Beverly Cañon Gardens. It's a nice place to sit, relax and enjoy the sun! Parking Park at the Beverly Hills Public Parking close to Beverly Cañon Gardens, Hi Bake is located there. BH Public Parking offers 2 hr. free parking. Make sure you bring your parking stub with you, so you can validate your parking stub at the parking ticket machines / kiosks before you return to your car. Most parking machines / kiosks are close to the elevators. Another tip, take a picture of the level, floor and parking spot you parked your car at! It will save you lots of time and energy! Would love to visit again and try their other pastry offerings! Also, my favorite coffee shop Maru Espresso Bar is close by too, which is a big plus!

Still dreaming of these pastries from BUTTERFUL & CREAMOROUS! Tucked inside @hibakeusa , one of China's most popular dessert brands, B&C is serving up delicious, masterfully-crafted baked treats and indulgent sweets. Their signature pastries include their classic egg tarts, croissant tarts, puff pastries and croissants, and I was seriously so impressed with everything I tried. All of their pastries featured delicate, subtly buttery flaky layers (characteristic of French pastries), and a perfectly *not too sweet* profile of flavors (owing to their Chinese roots). If you're in the Beverly Hills area, definitely go and check out this limited-time pop-up for some of the BEST pastries I've had in LA! Buy Three Get One Free! Hi! Hi Bake!! Matcha Egg Tart came highly recommended. The place is pink and located on a busy street where street parking can be super tricky.

Super cute bakery with great pastries and drinks. This spot is perfect for hanging out under the sun. Recommended this cafe!

A quaint "French" bakery in the courtyard of the Maybourne. Their claim to fame are the French custard tarts so obviously I had to try one. The flying fish roe (masago) baguette also caught my eyes. The custard tarts is like the Portuguese tart but a bit more creamy with a flakier crust. The masago baguette was not only top with masago, it was also filled with masago and light wasabi flavored mayo. Very interesting.

This is a cool concept of Japanese French pastries and they look beautiful and delicious but definitely not gluten free unfortunately. They have a prime spot across the lawn from the Maybourne Hotel in Beverly Hills. I wish I could have some pastries.

Dubai egg tart and matcha egg tart.

This Asian bakery features larger than average egg tarts and does modern twists on them. I tried the matcha tart And the Dubai tart. Both had a crispy crust that was sturdier than the flaky crusts of the egg tarts you get off the dim sum carts. The egg custard filling was not too sweet and typical of what you'd expect of the classic don tat. I thought the egg custard might be flavored after its name but that was just the topping--one had some subtle matcha sauce and Dubai tart had chocolate sauce and a tiny little tree made of kataifi & pistachio. Super unique though. Their take on salt bread and a pistachio spiral danish was pleasant and light, not rich enough to be particularly memorable. Service was very friendly and enthusiastic. There's some tables and chairs right outside the little bakery to enjoy the pretty garden courtyard view.

This is the first US location for Hibake, a Chinese bakery chain, which supports stray pets. Tucked away in the old Bouchon space in the Beverly Canon Gardens, there's a drink window and the bakery, which has several types of egg tarts, croissants and other pastries. I chose a couple of egg tarts and the flying fish roe baguette, which was recommended by the staff. It's on the pricey side - $5.99-$7.99 for the egg tarts and $6.99 for the baguette. There are tables and chairs outside where you can enjoy your purchase. The fish roe baguette was interesting, with hints of wasabi. This was my favorite. I didn't eat the egg tarts until later in the day, so they had lost their crispness. Of the two, I preferred the blueberry egg tart, which had some blueberry jam inside as well. The Dubai chocolate egg tart was a little light in pistachio flavor, with just a bit of knafeh in the center. If you buy them, definitely eat them as soon as possible or try reheating them later. Free 2-hour parking in the public lot below.

Since opening in 2012 and growing to 60 locations in China, Hi Bake opened its first US location in Beverly Hills earlier this year. There was so much hype around it and I finally visited today. Today was also the only time I would ever visit this bakery. Service is great from the cashier and barista, no issues there. But overall the food is just lackluster. Our order consisted of: *Alexander Toast: thick toast topped with bacon and cheese. This was good, but nothing extraordinary that would make me order it again. We asked to get it warmed up and it definitely was not warmed, it was still room temperature when we ate it *Egg Tart: again, good but nothing making me want to return. I did appreciate how it was more of a custard filling so the texture was rich and velvety. But the pastry was soggy. *Truffle Baguette: the bread was stale and dry, and there was just a brush of the truffle cheese/mixture on top and inside. It was honestly so overpowering we thought there would be SOMETHING to coincide with it to balance it out *Walnut Cream Bread: again, dry and pretty bland with bitter walnuts and a plain whipped cream inside. To drink I got the matcha cloud which was fine, plenty of other places with better matcha. The matcha itself was mixed well and they don't sweeten it which I liked. But the barista said the foam top is sweet but it definitely was not sweet at all. It just tasted like plain foam. Being the only customers for the first 30-40 minutes after opening, it's safe to say the hype has all but diminished

Great spot in Beverly Hills. The cream loaf was incredibly soft and delicious. The atmosphere has a really cool vibe, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Overall a really pleasant experience -- definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area.

Thank you Joseph A, for alerting me of this cool café near my office. Founded in Hong Kong and now based in Chendgu, Hi-Bake serves up French/Asian inspired sweets. They specialize in custard tarts and buttery croissants stuffed with red bean, molten chocolate lava, and even wagyu beef. Located in the former Bouchon bakery space, this place is aesthetically pleasing with cute décor. It's also dog friendly. They support animal rescue by funding a community-focused animal rescue initiative that provides free adoption services and vet care. Their goal is to create a world where every animal feels safe & loved, which makes me happy to support this business. The coffee bar is separate and there are tables so you can enjoy your coffee & pastry in the beautiful courtyard of the Maybourne Hotel. When I arrived I received a friendly welcome from the staff. Everything in the display case looked scrumptious! I had my heart set on the Dubai Chocolate tart, so I got one for myself and my co-worker. OMG! The crust was amazing! Lots of crispy flaky layers. The crust itself was very tasty. The tart was filled with a pistachio cream that was firm but silky smooth and it was topped with a thin layer of chocolate ganache and a dollop of pistachio kunafa. It was delicious and not too sweet. I can't wait to go back and try some more of their tasty treats.

Hi Bake is a really charming bakery in Beverly Hills. I didn't know about the free 2 hour parking underground thats right by the shop; validated parking is like $3.50/15 mins at other nearby parking. Shopkeepers were really kind and helpful in helping me choose my baked goods! The team was very patient and was quick to help me get a hot matcha latte to pick up next door. They work really fast! Flattened croissant was really the shining star. So simple, so delicious! Alexander Bread and the Flying Fish Roe bread was reallly good!! So delicious after being toasted! Egg tarts were ok; they lose their flakiness quickly but I appreciate the wide range of flavors and very generous fillings. I think the flavor has a bit more to go but there's a lot of spirit here in Hi Bake!

Though I've been here just once (for lunch), I am already plotting my return. I arrived a bit earlier than my friends and in so doing, accidentally avoided the start of the lunch rush. As there are not many tables here, I feel I lucked out snagging a table for us. As I took at the cozy, classy splendor of a still very new establishment, the relaxed but polished decor was both inspiring and low-key. I had an excellent espresso while I got my wish: extended time to take in the menus. The drink menu, and the food menu. It's my favorite when that part of the cafe/restaurant experience delivers tons of time to get really acquainted with a place. Our friendly, helpful server asked the questions I had about the menu, and the time he didn't know he went and found out. Breakfast is served all day, by the way. My friend started with the sausage rolls (accompanied by the freshly made ketchup). Delicious and great for a table starter or a fairly light entree. Good crunch, and moist inside with plenty of seasoning. My entree was the black forest ham quiche. It was indicative of everything else here: the right size, the right mix of produce, protein, fluffy, cheesy egg inside, and anchored by a subtle but first-rate crust. It's served with a fennel based salad, a crisp and a great complement. We were happy and satisfied sooner than expected (alas, Le Moules must wait). Still, I could not resist a little dessert and ordered the Pain Aux Apricot. It was fantastic, something out of a cafe in Paris. Crisp and light and just sweet enough. Appreciated the friendly service. A steady diet of 70's soft-rock quietly served as the soundtrack at this one lunch. There is easily accessible parking on the street or mostly-free city lot.

Ordered the mixed berry pie (blackberries, raspberries, and one other which I can't recall). Sooooo incredibly delicious. Thought it would be overwhelmingly sweet but it really wasn't. Had it with a cappuccino which was perfect. They also had cherry, apple, and banoffe cream, and I believe a few other seasonal options. But have to say I didn't regret my choice. They also have savory pies including chicken and leek, and beer pies. Was a bit full from lunch but would love to try these at some point. Additionally, they also had some lunch and dinner entrees. Overall super cute and cozy place to sit and enjoy some tea/coffee with a pie. Love the vibe. And the service was also exceptional. Definitely coming back soon.

I expected a high-quality cupcake. The cupcakes looked cute, but they were as dry as the Sahara. They should have been labeled as white cupcakes as I didn't detect any vanilla in them. I suspect that the "buttercream" was made with milk and margarine and powdered sugar.....so much powdered sugar. It was sickeningly sweet, and it was dry too. And a true bettercream doesn't even use powdered sugar. So not only were the cupcakes terrible, they were not even what they purported to be. There are not many cupcake options in the area anymore. However, I learned they only have cupcakes available for preordering. There were none in store which was disappointing. Additionally, I did not see a lot of the pastries that are shown on Yelp. Seems like they changed their dessert menu within the last year. They do have little pastries, cakes, drinks, and a savory menu with crepes. The pastries are gorgeous and I was excited to try them. However, according to the representative most are made with beef gelatin and are therefore, not vegetarian so, being a vegetarian, my options were limited. I appreciate that he let me know. They did have a vegetarian option for me though. I ordered the raspberry cake. It was delightful. Not as showy as the mousse gelatin desserts but still a pretty dessert and very tasty and melt in my mouth soft. Overall, a cute yet very touristy place to visit. Since options for me were limited I probably would not return as it is out of the way but I do think it was worth a try and a one time treat and what I got was delicious. Parking on the street.
