VERY good desert place!! If you want to break up a "Beverly Hills" shopping day with some non-money based dopamine, reach for some awesome sugar based dopamine!! The apple pie was fantastic. Bursting with real flavor from actual apples and what tasted like a home made crust. The scoop of chocolate ice cream brought it all together. The berry gelatin heart desert was great! Not too sweet, but also not like dull jello. You could really taste the berries and collagen flavoring. The sauce added a nice touch. Very well done! The guy working there was great. I NEVER write Yelp reviews, but this is more of an open letter to management, or the owners, or whoever thinks you can charge $6 for a 9-gram "doppio" espresso from a glorified plastic Keurig machine. The savory and sweet food is SO GOOD!! The service is better than any other local places, and very low-pressure. I say all of this from the perspective of someone who has worked alongside Physics PhD researchers and about five different Michelin-starred chefs. First of all, for how tucked-away Sweet Angeles is, this cafe/small restaurant felt like a hidden gem! They have FILET MIGNON on a dinner menu??!! I must, must, MUST come back to try that!! Veronica, with her incredible tray of sweet samples, piqued my curiosity to enter Sweet Angeles, but "B" is definitely the person who convinced me to stay! As a coffee scientist (and perhaps snob? ) of decades, I had far, FAR too many annoying questions to ask, and "B" both tolerated and answered each of them with a degree of empathy that was top-notch and rarely found in LA nowadays. Really more of a Ritz-Carlton level of customer service than a cafe experience. The owners should be very proud of this. I only ordered a bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese (and what they call "coffee"), but the sandwich was SO perfect! You'd be amazed by how many cafes screw up something with only three ingredients, but this was likely better than one I would make myself. The sweets are TRULY unique in their construction, presentation, texture, and flavor -- DO try the one with pistachio and raspberry, as well as the "Nutella one that's fluffy like a pillow" -- you WILL NOT be disappointed!! As I was leaving, "B" asked my honest 1-10 opinion of the cafe. I told her I'd give it a 9/10, which in Yelp-land amounts to a solid five stars. The few small things that are "off" or otherwise "wrong" about Sweet Angeles? They are listed below, but I remind you, EVERY business can always improve no matter how wonderful they are. #1 -- This one is bad for the owners, but GREAT for the customers! THE SAVORY FOOD PRICES ARE TOO LOW!! At a VERY over-rated Ukrainian cafe, I paid DOUBLE for a bagel/lox/cream cheese sandwich that was inedible, and Sweet Angeles still has to pay their Rodeo Drive rent prices! They could increase food prices significantly if they wanted. #2, 3, and 4 -- The espresso is overpriced (~$6 for a plain black shot), the machine is a budget touch-screen model (not commercial-grade), and the beans are over-roasted and generic. For context, a proper shot should be ~$4.50 max, and this was a one-button operation worth about the price of its paper cup. I'd expect this hospital/airport-quality to be priced ~$2.25-$3.25. That said, this is a BUSINESS OWNER decision and does NOT reflect the excellent warmth and service of the employees. I understand that Armenians have different tastes (compared to modern, specialty, or "3rd wave" Western palates) regarding coffee, and they have their own distinct methods of producing it. This was NOT Armenian-style coffee, which is something I would LOVE to see at a shop like this () -- single-served "Jazzve" coffees which take a couple of minutes to make, rather than the plastic "espresso machine" with the plastic hot water tubing and other parts. I want to reiterate that the food was FANTASTIC and actually under-priced, and the employees were extremely welcoming and very kind considering the endless questions I asked. If the manager or owners just so happen to read this 10-page essay, I want to say this... I would happily help you (possibly even for free) with: 1. finding proper coffee beans at an affordable price, 2. finding someone to buy the pretend espresso machine, 3. finding, buying, or financing a new (or lightly used) proper espresso machine, 4. buying a couple of high-quality grinders (very crucial), and 5. training on how to produce the basic espresso drinks in the way that local AND international customers have come to expect in this city, and I'd also be happy to teach latte art. AGAIN, I still give this place a 9 out of 10, because it's obviously a bakery before it's a coffee shop. When asked, I told "B" the shop's a 9/10, but the coffee was a 2/10, but I was being polite. The coffee was really and truly a 1/10. Maybe it tastes better with matcha, food coloring, and various milk products? Who knows. But if the owners/management want to make Sweet Angeles a 12 out of 10, and genuinely achieve excellence, they should feel very welcome to reply to this 5-star review and get in contact with me. This is a cute little bakery located in the Rodeo Collection which is a little shopping center on Rodeo Drive. Service was a little slow at first and there was only one family ahead of me. Perhaps they were busy making their orders. They only had one person working at the counter. However, once the representative approached me, he took his time helping me choose my order and he was very nice. I found this place while searching for cupcakes on Yelp. There are not many cupcake options in the area anymore. However, I learned they only have cupcakes available for preordering. There were none in store which was disappointing. Additionally, I did not see a lot of the pastries that are shown on Yelp. Seems like they changed their dessert menu within the last year. They do have little pastries, cakes, drinks, and a savory menu with crepes. The pastries are gorgeous and I was excited to try them. However, according to the representative most are made with beef gelatin and are therefore, not vegetarian so, being a vegetarian, my options were limited. I appreciate that he let me know. They did have a vegetarian option for me though. I ordered the raspberry cake. It was delightful. Not as showy as the mousse gelatin desserts but still a pretty dessert and very tasty and melt in my mouth soft. Overall, a cute yet very touristy place to visit. Even though we were still full from dining at one of the Restaurants in Beverly Hills, we decided to still pass by to try "SWEET ANGELES " after our dinner. This one is inside the RODEO Collection in RODEO BEVERLY HILLS .   I sent my husband first to buy their goodies and drinks while I was still shopping, so he saved us a table and let me know if they had good snacks. My  Husband called me and said they were good. Upon arriving there was a long line, but the line moved fast. Tables are available inside and outside.  My son was still full from our dinner, so he just told me to choose for him so he could try the goodies here, and here are the ones we had: * 2 LARGE LATTE *SLICE of APPLE PIE *JELLY FRUIT *SMORES CUP CAKE *PROSCIUTTO SANDWICH Both Lattes we had were good. All of the Pastries were good, but the one I liked the most was the SMORES CUP CAKE, the one my husband bought with his Latte before my son and I arrived, it was moist and rich in chocolate . The APPLE PIE SLICE was delicious too, but I think next time I won't put ice cream coz it's kinda too sweet for me with the Ice Cream. The JELLY FRUIT in the shape of a heart was so cute and good, but I was expecting it to be softer, like wiggly a bit, but it's kinda very solid for a Jello, but it tasted good. They ran out of the PROCIUTO CROISSANT that was in their display that I saw, so they just replaced it with whatever was available. I like Prosciutto a lot, so I still ordered it and it was a good Prosciutto sandwich. All in all, it's a good Bakery. I will still come back here to try more of their goodies whenever I'm in Beverly Hills. I really expected more, but the communication with me was done very poorly - I did not have a confirmation until the day of because I contacted them multiple days to see if I could get a confirmation, but now I wish I hadn't and went to another cupcake service. Perhaps the job was rushed because it was the day of after I made the initial request 3 days prior. I have contacted the place, but I have not heard much from them about resolving this issue. I came here with a sister because I saw images online. Unfortunately there weren't that many dessert options as listed on the website, or in prior yelp photos. So I wasnt as excited to order. I did order a mango coffee. Mango flavor was good, but I don't think mango and coffee go together very well. Maybe for tea, but it's not something I would order again. My sister got a mint lemonade and asked for it to be made sour. She enjoyed it. I also bought th pistachio strawberry mousse cake. It was tasty with good flavor. While shopping nearby we saw this place and decided to have a coffee break. We walked in there were a few people already and one girl working at the register and making coffee taking orders and passing out orders. Wow ... busy Sunday and there are only two people working here. One inside and one up front. We waited good twenty minutes before she took our order. Then another ten minutes to get our drinks. We asked for boba for my niece she said they were out and I always drink cold brew but couldn't order it cause they were out of it as well. Both items on the menu but not available. Since we waited for so long we had to stay so we ended up ordering double shot expresso, a cappuccino, an iced tea, slice of cheesecake and a cupcake for my niece. I bought the white dream heart cake and requested if they could write "twenty two" on it with frosting since I had seen on their website they had a photo of the same cake with "happy birthday" on it they had replied before but then left me on read for 3 days. When I arrived the cake had no inscription on it and I politely asked if it was possible they repeatedly refused saying the baker was too busy ( I could see through the window she wasn't) and I even requested to wait for how long it would take. Granted they did not heat it up enough as it was only slightly warm when I got it so I had to ask for them to heat it up more. I was there on Saturday with 3 other people, not one person even acknowledgeable we were there, 3 of us we are behind the sweets counter (the only ones). There was one person preparing a drink, "never" turn around to say anything, like we were not even there. Few employees on the back of the shop, they saw us and nothing as well... we wait few minutes and we just left! You are in a "very prestige" part of town you should have an "excellent customer service and employees", this is a shame! We ordered a regular Latte, Iced Latte (with dragonfruit foam per recommendation), Dubai Chocolate Mirage, and Apple Pie: - I enjoyed the latte by itself as I was able to taste the strong espresso flavor -- the dragonfruit foam was very tangy/sour and feels it did not blend well with the latte. I would recommend trying other flavored coffees if you want something sweet, or a cappuccino or latte - the Dubai Chocolate Mirage had great presentation but everything was overwhelmingly sweet -- we couldn't really taste the pistachio ice cream as the chocolate syrup overpowered the flavor. This place is absolutely adorable! It's located inside a collection of stores that housed three stories of medical offices, shops and this cafe right on Rodeo Drive. There is an outdoor terrace with about eight tables. There is plenty of seating inside too. This place is super cute and gives off a French cafe vibe. Unfortunately, the chocolate brownie I ordered was dry. I could make better brownies than the one I ordered from a box and I am not a pastry chef by any means. The brownie I got from Starbucks yesterday tasted better than this. I am disappointed. The texture is dry and the chocolate sauce on top overly sweet. I have heard their carrot cupcake is very good. I was invited by the manager, Elisa, to visit Sweet Angeles and offer my feedback. Elisa was communicative and accommodating, setting aside time to greet me and my partner when we stopped by over the weekend. We tried the prosciutto sandwich ($21.50), smoked salmon crepe ($18.50), Sweet Angeles special (creme brûlée latte, $7.95), and bumblebee iced orange coffee ($9.95). Elisa offered to switch out the bagel for a croissant in my prosciutto sandwich, which was a great recommendation! I found the texture, flavor, and combination of ingredients to be just right, and the dish was beautifully plated with gold leaf framing. The Sweet Angeles special was like a heavenly and creamy cloud with gold glitter on top. The bumblebee iced orange coffee was so unique. I don't think I've ever had anything like it! It is freshly-squeezed orange juice with coffee layered on top. Elisa recommended not mixing the layers and instead moving the straw to go back and forth between the two, which was a really fun way to enjoy the refreshing drink! Everything mentioned thus far was a 5/5. The only dish that I would not order again is the smoked salmon crepe, which was a 4/5 for me. While I was impressed by the hefty amount of smoked salmon in the crepe, I found the dish to not come together as well as the others. To start, the dill listed in the menu was missing, leading to a more bland flavor overall since the cream cheese was not flavored. Additionally, aside from the crepe, all the ingredients were cold. I would have liked the spinach to have been sautéed or warmed to a certain extent so that it was less rubbery in texture and would seamlessly melt into the ingredients around it to bring the dish together. I would also have cut the cucumber slices more thinly to additionally allow the different parts to fit together, as the combination of loose raw spinach leaves and thick cucumber slices led the crepe to fall apart rather easily. Overall, I would give this place 4.5 stars. Of course, I had to try their dessert before leaving, so I bought a raspberry red velvet chocolate ganache cupcake ($6.50) to go. I was too full to eat it the day of, so I ate it the next morning and was really impressed by how well it held up overnight. The flavors and textures complemented each other well, and for someone who doesn't particularly love sweets, I found it to be just the right sweetness level. Overall, I found this business to be a cute and relatively hidden stop in the area (the establishment is in a small, inward-facing plaza nested between the main streets). If I could give this 0 stars, I would. Beverly Hills doesn't have great matcha lattes to begin with, and this was the worst of the worst of them. It was so watery and disgusting, the matcha not blended at all, the milk not frothy. And to make matters worse, it was by far the most outrageously expensive at about $10.50 with tax. I was taken aback by the price, but I went ahead bc I like trying all the different matcha lattes on my lunch break. I first noticed this bakery on Memorial Day while walking Rodeo Drive, and I made it a point to return here eventually since I loved the location in the courtyard, and the look of the interior. They have indoor and outdoor seating, despite the location being in a relatively cramped space. It was worth it! Their cupcakes are indeed spectacular, and I enjoyed my smoked salmon crepe and my pina colada lemonade. They don't have every cupcake available in person that you see on the website, but between the location, the ambience, and the food, I feel this bakery deserves a full five stars! read more
