Well guys, I may have found my new grocery store. I've only stopped in here a few times when I needed to grab something on the way to work, for the restaurant. Visiting today for myself was a great experience. I'll be honest I don't know how much groceries usually cost because I have don't often to make groceries. I usually make the terrible mistake of going to the store every time I wanna cook. The prices seemed good. I was able to get food to cook dinner 3 times (turkey wings, 5 pounds of ground beef, red bean sausage, peppers, onions), sushi( made in house, I made the terrible mistake of going to the grocery store, hungry), some disposables and a few snacks for about $80. The store was very clean. very organized. lots of local products to choose from in addition to the big named stuff you are used to. read more

May 12, 2026 - Stealing Your Money!!! If you are paying with cash, Hi Nabor NOW does not have any pennies, so they round up. So if they owe you 74 cents, they will make it where they owe you 70 cents and not give you the four cents. That is stealing our money!! And they do still have pennies. The pennies are not disappearing. They're just not going to make any more pennies. I think Hi Nabor's has made enough money in their lifetime that they do not need to be stealing our money. A lot of older people go to Hi Nabor's and every cent matters to them. So go with your correct change if you are paying with cash. read more

On December 24, 2025 (Christmas Eve), I experienced a pricing discrepancy and unprofessional customer service at a High Neighbor location. I selected multiple bags of Bernard's candies that were displayed directly beneath a $3.29 shelf label. At checkout, the items rang up as $9.49 per bag. I questioned the discrepancy and returned to the shelf to verify the pricing. Photos taken at the time clearly show the product placed under the $3.29 label. The front-end manager, Dearian, responded dismissively, walked away from the situation, and made no attempt to resolve or de-escalate the issue. This occurred during a very busy holiday period and was embarrassing as staff openly discussed the situation at the register. During the interaction, it was stated that customers had been complaining about this same pricing issue for approximately five days, yet the shelf placement had not been corrected. This indicates prior knowledge of the issue and failure to take corrective action. The store manager on duty, Jose, later assisted and provided only a partial price adjustment, as reflected on my receipt. While an adjustment was made, it did not adequately address the misleading pricing or the unprofessional conduct. This experience raises concerns about pricing accuracy, management accountability, and customer service standards. Repeated incidents like this risk misleading customers and driving business away. Requested Resolution: 1. Written apology acknowledging how this was handled 2. Confirmation of leadership/customer service training for involved management 3. Visit Hi Nabors on Winbourne on June1, 2024. Looking for Mustard greens. Yes, they had the most pitiful raggedy greens. Bunches were the size of a regular spool of thread. They were selling for $1.89 per bunch. 40 bunches were needed for a meal because of shrinkage during cooking. That would have been $75.60 for a small pot of MUSTARD GREENS. Who would pay that? I ask for the Manager and they sent over two different people that could not understand and make a decision to keep a high paying customer such as I. These black ladies are there to front as mangers but cannot make a decision. The white one never appeared. I have been going to that Hi Nabor for over 30 years. Until today!!! I do not use food stamps, therefore, I want a better quality of fresh produce at a reasonable price. This store is in the middle of black neighborhood and we are allowing it to disrespect and over charge for some foods. If you get food stamps, you probably don't care about the price. I do. My dollars mean a lot to me. Yes, I have seen where they give away free groceries. Since Rouses opened, they are trying to make believe that they care about their customers. I do not want your free groceries. I am willing to pay as I always have. I just want the fair market value of what Iam buying. I had to leave and go around town to find mustard greens. A lot of people don't know about the supermarket in Baton Rouge going with the bigger chains. Hi Nabor has a really great values, almost as much selection as other stores comparable to even Walmart but more focused on the bargains. I think it's one of the few places that regularly has processed alligator at a good price as well as other local fish. I would also say that the produce and bakery sections are decent. There could be a larger section to avoid having to go to a CVS or Walgreens for toiletries. I wish the fish section was even larger although I've been very impressed with the pork and beef selections. If you want to save money food shopping this is a store that you definitely want to check out in Baton Rouge. read more

I go to Hi Nabor pretty much every week. The store is clean, workers are friendly, and prices are reasonable. The selection is good. The bike rack is broken. Hi Nabor really needs to get one of those bike racks that are made locally so that it won't break. read more

i shop at hi nabors at least 3 times a week, i order a birthday cake for 10/31/2022 (in person) cynthia took my order, went over it with me. pick it up and guess what it was wrong bought it anyway! call her she agree with what i wanted put me on hold the manager that came to the phone had a different story,ask me are you sure it was not right! i explain to her that i had order from the store about 2 years ago it was not right, bought lunch almost 2 months ago that was raw(spaghetti and meat balls) spoke to cynthia about it offer to bring it back, she say no. all i'm trying to say is stuff is really expensive. hi nabors please get your bakery and deli together! read more

If you have a sign that says open till 9 don't close and lock your doors at 8:45. Just another reason to add why I don't shop here. The cashiers are rude. The workers never help when you need it. If they do help they seem confused for what seems an hour so they don't actually have to do anything. Everyone in the store is lazy. It's very expensive "high neighbor". I grew up here, went to that place when it was "national" grocery. Very shocked to realize that the sheriff was following me around the store. I tested him multiple times, and he followed me and stood behind me. It was comical, because I know the neighborhood, own a home, yet they didn't want me in the store. Got a plate lunch, added something, and it was like $14.95. Ha, no way jose. I left the dang lunch on the shelf and have never been back. Tragic, because the location is great. read more

I ordered a catering meal from the Broadmoor location for my office and the customer service was horrible and the ham was so overcooked we had to end up throwing it out. The lady who greeted me at the deli was friendly but she left to go to lunch afterwards. The lids were not properly covering the food so the green bean juice spilled all over my car seat and the lids for the other foods kept popping off. The only reason I gave two stars was because of one of the deli workers named Alex who walked me to my car and was trying his best to correct the situation. The other workers that were behind the deli just simply handed me my order with no thank you or even double check to see if my order was correct, such nasty attitudes. read more

I go to Hi nabor often and I love it. Although some prices are a bit high the quality is precious. I love this store so much. The fruit section is always plenty and fresh. I cant carry whole watermelon being senior citizen so when I ask them to cut it half for me they do it with a smile. Deli is so friendly and the young guys around the store are willing to help. This store is the reason why small neighborhood markets don't prosper. They have a policy against bringing bags in but then they have no bag concierge. Nowhere to put your bag. I was told by 2 managers to just put it on top of the ice machine unattended because they're just a neighborhood market. Seriously? Don't implement policies without a plan, I was not even given a number or anything to pick my bag up. So unprofessional! I'll avoid them from now on. read more

I enjoy running into this location because it is so close to work. I wanted to grab some sushi, but not wait for it and I remember this location having a sushi counter. All the sushi is premade based on a menu that the store has come up with. After checking it out, I think to myself that surely I can find something I like. Now I'm browsing the case to see what options are available and realize every choice is covered in this mayonnaise sauce. Yuck! I asked if they could make me a Philadelphia roll special and the "chef's" response was I have cream cheese. He proceeds to show me tempura rolls that was made with cream cheese. I corrected him and said, no its salmon and avacado and cream cheese and he shows me the roll he made with salmon sashimi on top rolled with crab and avacado. At that point I walked out. It's a shame that there is such a large oriental community on this side of town, but no standard sushi shops. read more
