    Gelato!

The worker was very kind offering us a sample of the gelato, picked up a couple scoops and it was good for the walk. Grabbed 2 to-go bowls the rice (brown and white) weren't dry or mushy. I'm a fan.

Ordered delivery for eel bowl and was thoroughly underwhelmed. I got so little eel with $17. And the eel is too salty. Totally overpriced.

First time here. Bowls are a little small for the price. Met the owner david and he was really nice. Extra Toppings are extra .50.

Hi poke has some of the most fresh poke I have ever had! Just by the look of the fish and how vibrant the color of the fish (salmon and tuna in my case - my favorites) you can tell that the fish is quality. This location is in downtown and is very walkable from many points in the gaslamp. The service is very quick and friendly and i love that they offer the hawaiian soft drinks! Ive now visited this location a couple times since I first found it (recommended on yelp - nearby) but my first impression of their salmon bowl was amazing. Like I mentioned before, very fresh salmon, green onions, red onions, masago, edamame all included with the bowl, all poke favorites so can't go wrong with the flavor here! Also a really good portion size! I was able to split this one bowl into two meals, good value!

Came in excited, came out disappointed especially after coming from a 2 hr long drive :( *WAIT TIME- no line on a hot Sunday afternoon around 1:30 pm. Of course we had to wait for a bit for our order since it was a special baked one, but we were left confused because it wasn't even hot let alone warm once we took our first bites. We were too hungry to ask them to remake it, so we ended up just sticking it out. *AMBIANCE- aside from this unsatisfying experience, we appreciated that the dining area was pretty clean and spacious. *QUALITY- far from "authentic". Proteins did not taste fresh and flavor as a whole was bland. Price was way too high for below-average poke. *CUSTOMER SERVICE- appreciated the "chill" vibes rather than rudeness, but lacked professionalism (going on cellphone, forgetting to add multiple ingredients) *OUTDOOR SEATING- two high tables w/ stools (dog friendly) *PARKING- located right next to a pricy small parking lot that we didn't park at after finding out that it was $6 for 20 mins or $20 per hour. Finally found metered parking a block away after circling around a few times and just glad it's free on Sundays.

Salmon, Tuna, & Shrimp Poke Bowl

I enjoyed a very nice bowl of poke from this place. Although they charger extra for fresh avocado, they did put a lot of good ingredients in the bowl. The bowl comes with three proteins for $10.95. At $11, they should consider including avocado as a free option. Anyways, I went with half brown rice and halt tortilla chips for by base, and salmon, tuna, and shrimp for my proteins. I wanted octopus, but it was a little overcooked on the account it was chewy. The salmon and tuna were both quite good, especially given I went with the lightest sauce they offered, the classic or soy base sauce. The shrimp were good too. I liked that they were plump little tasty morsels. All the rest of the ingredients were just grand and flavorful. The make a very good modern Cali Poke Bowl at this place. Service was friendly and cordial.

Only the best poke bowl in all of San Diego!

I have shopped around plenty of poke places, but none of them compare to Hi Poke! First of all, their food is fresh AF. They offer a lot of items including fruit like pineapple and mango. Best of all, they aren't stingy with it either :) Their staff is professional but super friendly. Their prices are great and they keep the place spotless! I've become obsessed and I'm ok with it. If you're craving a fresh bowl of f*king goodness, this is your spot!

We were so very excited to find a delicious Poke destination on the border of the Gaslamp District and East Village in Downtown San Diego. The owner (David) was so kind and his staff was helpful. The poke was exactly what we wanted... fresh proteins, great flavors, and lots of toppings. You may select a specialty bowl or Pick Your Own Poke (PYOP). Both are made to order. Love this place and we'll definitely be back to say Hi David and enjoy some Hi Poke!

Big time Poke fan so trying some out while I was back in San Diego was definitely on the list. This place has pretty good ratings and is located downtown so it was a win win to see try good food and see downtown. This place currently isn't offering dine in so keep that in mind, but they do let you sit at one of their 4 two person tables outside of the store. There was only one other person in the store and poke is always ready to go it was nice and quick as expected to get food. They had all the basics as far as toppings, they good meat selection include salmon, tuna, octopus, scallops, some others and even chicken (which I don't think is a good thing for a poke bowl, but hey they have it). I generally don't put sauces on my bowls because they usually don't need it, but in this case the rice tasted so bland and was pretty much room temperature so I added some sauce for the flavor and they made it fantastic. Portions sizes were decent and I was relatively full especially for the price which was pretty fair at $12 a bowl. Only thing holding this place back from a 5 was the service. It was nothing special, they didn't seem to care to answer questions or really speak any more than they were required to do so. Overall, good bowls and good experience!

Not really their fault but it did make me appreciate places that put the rice and fish separate I liked the cilantro mayo ahi more than the firecracker salmon, both because of the sauce and the fish itself The poke nachos were good and super saucy, might prefer to have the spicy mayo and eel sauce on the side though so I can taste the sauce that came with the fish better My cousins tried the ahi belly bomb and I wasn't a fan
