Excellent Bibimbap! Sushi was great. The place has crazy busy in carry outs, the phone rang off the hook! The staff definitely works very hard and was polite and courteous. While I know there are newbies to Japanese and other cultures , please be respectful. If you want a salad or American style, there are plenty of choices within that area to dine. I`ve been hoping to find a decent sushi restaurant in the Warren area. I`m glad that I stopped into Hi Sushi today. I ordered two rolls and a miso soup. They also a complimentary salad, so - bonus! The sushi was good, and the soup and salad were also tasty. They had four or five tables full and a few people were carrying out. Pleasantly surprising for 2:15 on a Saturday. My only complaint is that the time it took to be waited on and then to be server was very long. They only had one waitress, so maybe they were short-staffed or hadn`t expected the traffic. These was the best sushi I have had in a long time. Got it through uber eats. Showed up fresh, well packed and most important just what I asked for. I have a friend that considers himself a foodie, unfortunately he will only go to Restaraunts that other "foodies" or famous chefs tell him is worth his time. I decided to give this place a try simply because he said he would never eat here. It's small, it's not in a great area, it's next to a gas station, and it's miles from any significant body of water!! It's everything you don't want in a sushi place on the outside. I parked in the rear and entered through the back door (funny it's the name of the foodies blog) this entrance leaves something to be desired as your first impression of the restaurant. Once in the main dining room, you see the sushi bar, and the open room. I was seated in booth, the restaurant looked clean and inviting for a small little place. The lady that sat me asked if water would be fine, i replied perfect. 5 minutes later another waitress asked if i was ready or if i would like anything to drink? I asked for a moment more while I contemplated what to try, and requested the water once again. The water was finally brought and i placed an order of the nigiri lunch special ( 6 pcs + Cali roll) and a tuna roll. The special came with Miso and salad. About fifteen minutes later i was served my nigiri special and asked if i ever received the soup and salad which i had not. The soup and salad was eventually brought and was your average soup and salad, only complete was the bowl was so small you could not mix the salad to distribute the dressing evenly. Now diving in to the nigiri special everything seemed fresh, nothing was chewy. I was pleasantly surprised. The fish was laid sloppily on a bed of rice when it came to the tuna, but it was a good size portion of fish. The Cali roll was as expected. My complaint for the special would be that with only 6 pieces of nigiri i would assume that there would be no duplicates let alone two!! I understand that it is chefs choice but this is just a way to provide the minimum and that is not how you get people to come back. Based solely on the quality of food i would come back no problem, but with the lack of customer service from the wait staff, the tuna roll that is MIA and the lack of creativity on the plates nigiri, i don't see my self coming here again. The waitress did offer the tuna roll free of charge when i brought it up but i declined. Something changed when they changed ownership this September. I have brought my family here for a couple of years now and the old owners were so nice and the food was amazing with lots of options in 3 different menus. We recently went there and the menu was off, they seated us but tables around us were served before us, we did not get what we ordered, the dish came out different. I ordered the beef that usually comes sliced. They brought out something that looked like taco meat and mixed with tons of onions. They made no effort to correct it when I told them it's not like it usually is. We paid and left.., that was Sunday and for some reason I still feel a bit off from the food which gave me bathroom issues. Whew. I think I need a new Sushi/Japanese restaurant. read more

The main parking is in the rear of the building and once you enter the restrooms are right there. There is clothing for decoration stapled to the walls and you have to walk by boxes of supplies to get to the dining area. The dining area is nothing special just plain white walls. I ordered a sushi lunch special carry-out which on the menu stated that it comes with soup and salad. When I told the waitress that I didn't get my soup and salad she stated that it does not come with my order. I stated that on the menu it's printed on there that it does come with soup and salad. She said no. I then had to state, so you're telling me the soup and salad is for dine in only. She said yes. I then reminded her that it is on the menu and that is false advertising and that the menu should be changed to note that. She said ok. Come to find out she was the manager and for a manager she could have offered me a soup or salad for the issue but nothing. I would have ordered more sushi if I would have known this a head of time. Also to note that you can not use a credit card for purchases under $10. As a person that hardly ever carries cash this is super important (lucky I had a little cash on me this day). Overall the sushi was good, but you really can't mess up a tuna and California roll. Needless to say I will not be back. read more
