It's the sushi rice for me. I'm cutting straight to the point. It was a bit mushy, no me gusta. Fish was fine, salmon and yellowtail were tasty but a bit thin on the rolls. Service was phenomenal though, the owner was so nice and accommodating and even gave the bday girl free sushi to go. Support small biz people!

Salmon bento - $13.95! It was great!

Came for the bento, will be back for the sushi. $13.95 for salmon bento box was an absolute banger! Just enough food to fill me up. My coworker had a few sushi rolls and they were massive. She enjoyed them. Service was friendly and very fast!

I had a meeting in the area and wanted sushi for lunch. I read some reviews on Yelp and decided to give Hi Sushi a try. I ordered a crunchy roll and a California roll. I also ordered the tempura udon. There was 1 other person in the restaurant besides me so I was greeted immediately and my order taken. The sushi came out fast and I was a bit surprised by the 'crunchies' on top of my roll. The pieces were so large and not what I'm used too. All of the meat tasted like imitation. There was no flavor and just had a weird after taste to both rolls. The tempura udon was good. The broth and noodles were flavorful. The tempura veggies and shrimp were not. The shrimp were so skinny and they were tough. I peeled one because it was so tough I though the shell was still on it. The service was great and the udon was good which is why I gave 2 stars. But I won't be back.

Excellent Sushi! Attentive staff. Very quick service. Once we placed our sushi order it was mad quickly without compromising the quality. Tight rolls loaded with everything promised and generously at that. I will visit this place frequently since I'll be out this way more in the weeks and months to come.

Parking and entrance is in the back, there's no parking in the front. Started with some green tea, it's dark green and pungently green tea leafy for sure, special Cali roll, midori salad, spicy California salad and a chicken bibimbap. The phone keeps ringing off the hook. It looks like a popular carry out spot and grubhub pickup too. The booths here give, as the kid behind me pushes on their side to ours. I could feel every time she pushed on her side. Needs to be stablixsf Oddly enough Matilda is playing on the TV. I have never seen this movie before, now, I am getting a tidbit during my dinner, since the TV is right above our seat. The miso and small house salads came out before the rest of our food. Then the mixed salad and avocado, which is essentially the house salad with slices of avocados on top of it. The spicy crab salad with avocado and shredded radishes were good, tasty. The special California roll was nice and fresh. Even the pickled ginger was crunchy. The chicken bibimbap was piping hot. The egg was runny, broke it up and cooked it up more against the cast iron bowl. It was yummy and the slices of chicken were lean and scrumptious. Service was good, food was good.

Beef bibimbap. It had a pretty egg on top but I poked it and started mixing it in before I was like "oh, PICTURE DUH"

Hi Sushi is tasty, good food. They do sushi, but honestly the thing that drew me to them was their Korean food. I love to come here for a hot stone bowl bibimbap. Getting sushi at the same time is just bonus. The only thing keeping this from being a five star situation is the atmosphere. You're frequenting a small mom and pop shop, so it's not the fanciest place but I'll tell you what - some of the best Korean food I've had has been from little hole in the wall places like this. Treat yourself to solid Korean food that's conveniently located (and fast for pick up orders!)

We ordered a variety of sushi rolls for carry out and everything was made very quickly. All of the rolls were okay, but not as good as Sushi Bon and the rolls were a bit smaller.

King Kong Roll & Van Dyke Roll

First time trying. It wasn't terrible but it def isn't worthy to go back to. I saw photos of the King Kong roll and was super excited thinking it would be huge... it wasn't. I also got the Van Dyke roll and it was pretty tiny too. However, the most disappointing part of both of them was that the tempura softshell crab and shrimp wasn't hot and or fresh.

I ordered carry out on a Friday night through the yelp app and my food was promised in 20 minutes and it was ready when I walked in the door. It was 5:05 and the place was completely empty. There was a employee in the dining area who didn't even acknowledge that I was standing there and the sushi maker had to ring a bell twice for someone in the kitchen to come out and greet me. I ordered miso soup and a spicy California roll and a shrimp tempura roll. The miso soup was delicious and still decently warm by the time I returned home (about 10-15 minute ride). I received 8 pieces of the spicy Cali roll and 5 pieces of the shrimp tempura roll. Both were well filled and tasty! I will definitely be back especially on days where I don't feel like traveling to royal oak or ferndale for some delicious sushi

Doesn't look like much, but they are almost never busy so they make each and every thing with love and not speed. It's honestly the cheapest sushi I've seen around as well.

One thing I love is that you have the option to cook your own food at the table or have them cook it in the back for you. The atmosphere feels traditional, with grills built into the tables, which adds to the experience. My only complaint is that the grill doesn't always seem to get hot enough, so we usually just ask them to cook everything in the back. The staff can be a little hit or miss. Sometimes you get someone who seems annoyed by simple requests, and other times you get someone warm, fun, and excited to share more about the food and culture. But the food is what keeps me coming back. It's always fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Korea Palace is a staple for me, and when I want a comforting, reliable Korean meal, this is one of the first places I think of. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed by the food!

This time we got the bibimbap, black goat soup, and a bone soup. We also got Jap Che for appetizer. Everything was satisfactory. Both the soups were piping hot. The goat had a unique taste that was not too strong surprisingly. The banchan was also pretty good, the best of which included bean sprout, cucumber, squash, and seaweed. We got barley tea, which was complimentary. The service was below average. It was busy but our server never came back once to check on us. She also had a lousy attitude in terms of simple questions I asked about the menu and seemed annoyed. Ambiance was warm on a cold day and pretty packed with many customers ordering Korean barbecue.

Service is a bit more hands-off, but I personally prefer that so it was a good experience in my book! One thing I must say is that I felt the menu was a bit limited. A lot of the menu consists of soup, which obviously isn't a bad thing (I personally LOVE soup), but my partner felt a bit of disinterest as he's not too keen on it. We opted for bbq and a shared entree (I can't recall the name, but it had pork belly and squid) instead. Both were tasty! The bbq also came with sides and two bowls of rice.

The service isn't bad, but I think the expectation is that you will let them know if you need something. They don't keep an eye on your water or drinks, but they were quick to fill them once we flagged them down. We tried some of our personal favorites and new things. They had a corn tea, which I never tried before. The flavor is hard to describe and a bit outside my preferences. It has a strong earthy corn taste. It was hot and came in a big pot. The banchan were awesome. I loved their kimchi, cucumbers, and fish cakes the most. They also had a seaweed salad and bean sprouts. We have tried sundubu jjigae with pork, kimchi fried rice, fried dumplings, japchae, and pajeon. I wouldn't get the sundubu again. There was something strongly overpowering the soup that was too intense for me and kind of bitter. Ive ordered this soup before at other locations, so I was surprised that it didn't suit my palate. The pajeon was huge. I prefer them thin, and this one was crazy thick. It was also overpowered with garlic, and I don't think those words have ever come out of my mouth before. What I would order again---japchae, kimchi fried rice, and dumplings! I love that they have so many options, and I had fun trying new things.
