Brought in my Audi for a timing belt cover replacement, the car came back leaking oil. We took it back in to have the fix the leak and they refused to fix the leak. Lights put back crooked, rub marks on the door, All would have been forgiven if they fixed what they broke.,They tried the two bills both under a $1000 trick that crappy garages do. They refused to fix the damage they caused when we gave them ample opportunity, and we have had to proceed legally. Do not use these people. Jimmy is no longer doing the work, and it has become a chop shop. read more

My brother who is a car wholesaler told me to take my car to Hi Tech. I've used them ever since. I currently drive a Audi A6 with 200k it has some issue about every 6 months, and I always drive it or tow it over to Quinn. They get it fixed in a resonable amout of time and don't tear my head off. Cannot recommend Hi Tech enough! I was visiting from out of town and had some overheating issues with my car. Hi Tech saved the day! They were able to quickly diagnose a complicated issue and get the repair started right away. They also worked with my cars warranty company and selling dealership to facilitate the repair. This place is great. All the guys there are wonderful. They stand behind their work. I was told 1 to 2 hour to install an alternator. They were done in under a hour. My car was overheating and I couldn't figure out why so I called a bunch of auto repair places and Hi-Tech were the only ones who could look at my car ASAP. I brought it in and within just a couple hours they diagnosed the problem and fixed it! While I was waiting for my car to be repaired, they were really polite with me sitting in the lobby and they answered all my questions. 10/10 I would definitely go back if I ever have another problem with my vehicle! read more

I wish I'd read this review before taking my car in. I scheduled an appt and had my car at the shop at 8am. They were really busy and it took at least 15 mins just to check me in. When I made the appt they told me to come in early if it was to be done in a day. I called to check on it at 230, they hadn't even begun working on it and expected me to leave it overnight with them. I said no, that I would just come and get my car. They had it for over 6 hours and never looked at it or bothered to call me and say it couldn't be done that day. Ridiculous! Do not go to this shop, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Went to two different mechanics, and no one could fix my car. I'm a college student, and buying a new car was not an option so I spent two months hitching rides from friends/family and spending an ungodly amount of money on Uber. Got referred to Hi tech by a neighbor and they were cheap and my car has been running smoothly ever since! I thought the price was going to take all my savings considering that they had to spend two weeks of work on it but it was affordable and they really only charged for the parts and a small portion for labor. A local shop referred me here about 5 years ago and they provide complex service for my 2001 new beetle, and 88 Jeep Cherokee. No better service supervisor in Northern Nevada IMHO and I've been here since 1976 than Quinn. If you need your hand held this is probably not the shop for you. Hi Tech Automotive has THE BEST automotive mechanics I've ever dealt with. They quickly & accurately diagnosed several very challenging problems I had with a 2001 VW Jetta. The problems involved both mechanical & check engine light issues. They fixed everything perfectly & at a fair price (before finding Hi Tech Automotive, I wasted considerable time & money trying unsuccessfully to solve these problems with other mechanics). Hi Tech Automotive's people are competent, fair, & honest (this is very hard to find in the automotive repair industry, where most customers are knowledgeable & vulnerable). If I could give this place fewer than one star, I would. My 1968 VW Beetle, which runs fine by the way, didn't pass smog. Hi-tech was recommended as a certified shop to do repairs and, if necessary, get a smog waiver so that I could re-register until I could get everything passing smog. We dropped it off bright and early on a Thursday morning with specific instructions about what we wanted them to do. Late Thursday afternoon, when I had not heard anything from them at all, I called. Guess what, they found stuff wrong with parts I had seriously JUST had replaced (that have NOTHING to do with getting it to pass smog). When I told the guy on the phone this, he changed the subject to what might be causing the problem. I authorized them to try to fix that and smog check it again. The next afternoon I had again not heard anything from them so I called to be told that the place they ordered parts from only had "one" of the parts they needed. It went on and on like this until now, 6 days later. I am sitting in the waiting area at 3:40 pm, having been promised the car would be ready for me at 3:00 pm. The mechanic had the gall to tell me that I should not have been "promised" that I would get my car back. There are plenty of excuses for why I am still sitting, stranded with places to go, but without my car. Go somewhere else! Go anywhere else! read more

I have been going to Hi Tech pretty much since they opened. Quinn and Jimmy have always been really nice to me and my car. I dropped my car off there for a week once as I was having a lot of work done on it while I was out of town. When I picked up the car, not only did I get charged less then the original quote, but they did everything that i needed done on the car. Not every mechanic I would trust with my car for a long period of time, but I trust the work at Hi Tech. I would rather take my car to them then the dealership. Plus cost a lot less to have them look at my car! read more

I brought my 2017 Ford F-250 into Hi-Tech Automotive for a stuck-open broken moonroof. Without looking at my truck the advisor thought it would be a simple fix of swapping out the broken parts with a repair kit for this common issue. It turned out to be much more involved requiring a new moonroof motor, and a new moonroof frame replacement. The initial quote of around $500 jumped 600% but I gave them the go ahead anyway. When I returned to pick up my repaired truck I noticed the electrically operated shade/curtain that covers the entire panoramic glass roof was poorly reinstalled, flapping loosely, and not covering the frame and glass. I did not even test to see if the moonroof was functioning correctly because I couldn't believe what I was seeing with this horrible, amateurish, totally unacceptable workmanship. In addition, there were greasy fingerprints noticeable on the fabric headliner and on the fabric shade/curtain, and some poorly fitting interior body molding panels. I spoke to the person who performed the repair and asked if this job was okay with him. He told me he hadn't noticed the flapping and poorly fitted shade covering and confessed he had never performed a repair like this before. After discussing my complaint with the service advisor he assured me that the truck would be sent to the local Ford dealer to get the shade problem resolved and that the interior would be cleaned and detailed. I received notice a few days later that the truck was ready, and with a lot of trepidation, I returned once more keeping my fingers crossed that my truck was back to normal. It certainly wasn't detailed to my standards and the headliner and shade still have grease marks but this time the shade was properly installed and the power moonroof and power shade function as they should. I told them I wanted to cut my losses, pay for the job, and take my truck. The advisor asked if he could give my cell number to the owner, which I thought was a good idea, but I never received that call. After this experience, I wouldn't trust them with a simple oil and filter change. YMMV. read more

All of the Mercedes specialists were closed for Nevada Day but these guys weren't and a friend highly recommended them as a long time customer. Hi Tech is actually LOW TECH! We made an appointment and went over the vehicle and the problem it was having over the phone. They told me that they could fix it, no problem. We brought it in on the morning of the appointment, made sure that they understood the problem and handed over the keys. We didn't hear from them again unless WE called them. It was supposed to just take a few hours but they had our car for FOUR full working days!!! They charged us for diagnosing time and repair time that was way over what they actually did. When we finally told them that we had to have our car back because we couldn't go without it any more, they told us that they couldn't fix it unless they had it longer. We picked it up and it was running much worse than when we brought it to them. We took it to a different mechanic and he had it running smoothly in FIFTEEN MINUTES! I will never be back and I suggest that you save yourself a headache and avoid them! read more

I dropped my car off with them in hopes of getting some repairs done. They charged me $300 for a diagnostics. Came back with many repairs being needed. So I decided to buy another car. When I went to pick my car back up... they had a bill of over $600. They said they made repairs on my vehicle. But I did not authorize for any repairs.. and according to the law.. a shop needs authorization for any repairs over $100. So they put my car back the way it was... then was very rude and short. We want our $315 or you get no car. Thanks for the awesome service... NOT!! read more
