My biggest issue with buffets is ALWAYS the quality of the food, but here at Hibachi Buffet? ...they actually do quite well. I felt like the buffet was a bit overpriced, but it was also lunchtime on a Sunday and the restaurant was PACKED. Even though there is an ample amount of parking, we had to park on the other side of the shopping center and walk over. We managed to sidle into the line and be seated JUST before the church crowd came stomping in, but also...the church crowd came stomping in and getting to the buffets was absolutely a trial. That's not so much on the restaurant as it is on us for thinking a Sunday afternoon was the right time. Still, I gave them four stars because our table was pretty sticky...and I feel like, when you have that much turnover in your tables, you should probably be paying close attention to wiping down and cleaning up before seating the next guests. Been going here for years. This is my go to low budget Chinese buffet. I normally dine at the muckleshoot buffet but since it's under construction I decided to slide into my trusty Safeway style Chinese spot. For $10.99 lunch you really can't go wrong. My go tos are white rice, bok choy with garlic, and the deep fried sole. The sushi quality is about the same as grocery store sushi, a plus is the habachi grill, pick your raw ingredients and chef will whip it up in front of you. Honestly I never leave reviews! But this place was disgusting! Really dirty and so many people and covid restrictions are not applied properly ! When I entered the building it looked okay. I asked to see the food that they offer before paying for it. I was told that I have to pay first before seeing the food. The guy looked frustrated that I asked him that. They are trying to get as many people possible. I understand it is covid they were closed for a long time but that's still not okay in my opinion. The food area looked messy. Came here with a group of 13 and they were very accommodating. The manager was very nice and friendly (fun fact he speaks 16 languages!). They were quick to refill the food when it got low in the buffet--- there was a woman constantly walking around and checking the trays. The fan favorite was the sugar coated fried dough balls. Big hits also included the stuffed crab shells and lychee jello (the pink one). There was a good assortment of sea food options and vegetables. read more

A solid Chinese buffet. It was not authentic- definitely American-Asian-Hispanic themed but it hit the spot when my husband and I were starving and in the area. The Mongolian BBQ station was a great choice for freshly made food. My husband really enjoyed the beef, I enjoyed the spring rolls and we both enjoyed the fried rice. The seating is self catered which is nice but then a family sat right next to us with a loud/ignored child which just made her louder and crazier. But since we could sit where we wanted we just moved! read more

I'll make this quick because I need to leave for Costco in a minute and eat samples. My dad had a Valpak coupon that was a better deal than my check-in coupon (the nice lady at the front desk let me give it to someone else), and for 4 people (my bf, my dad, and my 4-yr-old little sister), the 25% off was a great deal. I rate this 5 stars because I basically ate most sea creatures available for human consumption within an hour. Some were less-freshish than others (their sushi....nah, I wasn't a fan.....and the squid was a little tough, but I like a challenge!.....the crawfish did not have good-tasting heads for sucking, and made me feel too messy when I had to lick my fingers clean). I loved all the vegetable varieties, both the healthy and less-healthy, and ate the shells on both the crab legs and fried shrimp. I LOVE FRIED SHRIMP with everything intact, so I can dismember them and eat every part. I didn't try the grill feature, because I wanted to focus on seafood and mushroom-related things. I didn't even bother with dessert, because ice cream hurts my face and cookies are a waste of stomach real estate. The rest of my party enjoyed it, though. Oh, and the honey shrimp was really good. I still have nightmares about eating the food at Country Buffet, and this was the best medicine for curing my buffet fears. If I'm going to buy up in pants-sizes over a meal, it better have decent-tasting tentacles, or an exoskeleton. p.s. the place is nice and fancier than Mold Country Buffet....but as is with every buffet bathroom, please look before you sit. This place is so new that I saw tags and stickers on the bathroom stall doors and the mens' bathroom mirrors still had protective cardboard pieces taped to the corners. Hibachi's opened up last month and my family and I wanted to check it out before it went bad (like most buffets do over time). First and foremost, it's clean and brightly lit. A nice change from your typical buffet. They have a variety of offerings -- from dim sum, to sushi, to ribs and chicken nuggets. They even offer a Mongolian grill, which I'd like to try next time. They don't have the biggest selection but I was able to find things I wanted to eat. Although, one of the main problems I saw was that most of the foods were either fried or covered in cheese -- doesn't make for the healthiest dining experience; but you're at a buffet, so clearly, you don't care about that to begin with. Service was good and we were constantly getting drinks refilled (though, I think you can get them yourself) and plates cleared. For the price, it's a decent buffet. About $9 for lunch and $14 for dinner (and only an extra $0.89/drink, which you can change throughout your meal....soda, tea, coffee, etc). **Not too many people seem to know about this place yet, so go now if you want to check it out. Alright, bare with me. I have a good reason for giving a 5 star rating! I would've done 4.5 but they only allow whole numbers. This is seriously the best bang for your buck buffet I have ever been to. The prices are way low, the drinks are way cheap and have lots of variety, and the selection is great. The first thing I noticed food-wise was that the seafood was much better than other Asian buffets that I have been to. I also noticed that they allow endless mochas/coffee for less than a dollar on a serve - yourself basis, which was very nice and great quality. I wasn't overly impressed with the tomatoes in the salad bar but that's no big deal. Overall, the food was great for the low price you pay to get in. I also want to note that they have a very fun and fair pricing system. You'll have to check it out more in detail on their website but it really allows for fairness all around and I appreciate that. Server-wise, the hostesses were quiet and out of your way, but they really didn't need to be around since the drinks are serve-yourself. I did, however, notice the manager walking around happily making sure everything was going well which is something I have never seen a manager so happy to do. It was really quite beautiful. Atmosphere was general but relaxing. And ultimately, if the food was the best I'd EVER had and the atmosphere was AMAZING, I'd want to rate this place a 5, but like I said, I'd want to rate it a 4.5 if I could. But since it only offers while jumbers, they deserve more of a 5 than a 4! read more

I wouldn't be running back to the buffet but wouldn't mind dropping by once in a while. You can often find discount coupons so take advantage of that. A little higher quality asian buffet. You got the typical chow mein, wonton/egg drop/hot and sour/egg and corn soups, fried rice, beef and broccoli, seafoods. You actually pay first at this restaurant before you eat. And you can take food to go! It's $4 a pound excluding seafood. Seafood is $6. Interesting! Anyway, a couple things I liked was the pineapple sticky rice. It was cooked in a small, hallowed pineapple too. Very good. The crawfish here was really good too! Really juicy and spicy. Only bummer was that they ran out and since it was close to closing time they didn't refill it :( I had one. Stuffed mushroom was good, too. The salt and pepper shrimp was very fresh and seasoned really well, along with the salt and pepper crab. Mmmm. Self scoop ice cream for dessert! They have a respectable amount of flavors for a buffet! And it's pretty good quality ice cream, too, considering its a buffet! Def not one of those bland soft serve machines. Everyone there looked like they hated their lives so I didn't like the feel of the workers. Just your typical asian buffet. Not bad at all! My standards for a Chinese buffet are pretty low (I normally follow the Ron Swanson rule of quantity over quality) but I'm very happy to report that Hibachi Buffet actually manages to have both. As others have mentioned the restaurant is large, spacious and clean but still manages to keep the food fresh and in stock. We tried this on a weekday due to the lower price (Monday - Friday lunch is 9.99 vs 12.99 for dinner or weekends). You pay for your food and drink before eating. The hostess was friendly and allowed us to look over the buffet before returning to the front counter and paying. There are four large steam tables of hot food (for us, since it was lunch, there wasn't much seafood), a salad bar (but seriously, why the hell are you even here if you're going to just have salad?) and a beverage station that also served as an ice cream station (with actual ice cream, not the standard vanilla soft serve). The food was pretty much what you'd expect from a Chinese buffet, except... fresh (the entire time I was there, employees were constantly taking food out and putting new food in). You have your standard fare like lo mein, General Tso's chicken, orange chicken, fried rice, egg drop/hot and sour/wonton soup, etc. etc. It's also worth noting that while I don't normally care for sweet and sour chicken from a buffet, I tried a piece (apparently I was throwing caution to the wind that day) and was pleasantly surprised to find actual whole pieces of white chicken meat encased in the fried dough instead of the normal... mince... or whatever it is they usually have. They also have a Mongolian Grill which was serviced by a friendly guy who asked me how my day was going while he did my noodles. He mentioned they'd been open about 6 months, which I found impressive as there's usually an inverse correlation between how long a buffet has been open vs. how good their food is. Also, I have to comment on the fact that the service here was probably the best I've ever had from a Chinese buffet, and some of the best I've ever had, period. The server was friendly, got us our drinks (even though the beverage station is self serve) and kept our table cleared. She actually smiled at us instead of baring her teeth in a grimace/growl, like normal servers! (I would have taken a picture of this rare event but I didn't have my camera, plus everyone would probably just say I photoshopped her smile on, anyway). New buffet place set back a ways in a shopping square. The place is massive in size, almost gymnasium cafeteria size. You pay for buffet and drink separately. Be aware that lunch price is only valid M - F. Some people ahead of me were caught off guard by that. For the recent opening, they are giving 10% off the total, but with drink it's pretty much a wash. The buffet has six long spreads of both hot and cold bar. Despite all the availability, some of the comfort foods I look for in a buffet, some were not quite up to par. The food wasn't particularly salty, sweet, or spicy. It was just so-so. They had stuffed shrimp and crab shells. It was alot of food with nothing spectacular. I'll give it one more try some day but only if I'm in the area and remember it. Chow Mein, sesame chicken, teriyaki chicken, and just other generic items that I wasn't familiar with. One thing I found somewhat okay was the wonton pork soup with scallions. Disclaimer: My standards for regular food and buffet food are quite different. As in.. One is much much lower. So please keep in mind that the four star rating has been calibrated to fit said standards. The inside is nice. Spacious. I walk in and it looks like the place has at least 200 chairs crammed in there. But this is done in a meticulous and effective manner so that no one is crammed enough to complain. The staff is quick when it comes replenishing the supplies. And that's when it occurred to me. THIS PLACE IS A MOTHER LOVING EATING FACTORY. It's also been engineered to be very efficient. You look around and see people shoveling food into their mouth. Nothing new there though. It is a buffet after all. The food itself is.. Good if you're hungry. One should always go to a buffet hungry anyways, so that's a given for me. All in all, highly recommended for those who have been wandering out in the woods for days, looking to quit your vegetarian ways, or even overeating your dismays! Food here never empties, folks. Hibachi is newer buffet in the middle of nowhere (Auburn) tucked in the behind some other businesses. The inside is pretty clean and quite large. I had a somewhat awkward interaction as I was walking towards our seats. There was a table of 4-people eating and having conversation in the very front, and just as we walked past, one gentleman got up and asked if I needed a high chair. I'm assuming he worked there but he was in plain casual clothes and didn't have a name tag. I told him, "No thanks, I can grab one myself." I think it's an odd practice to be eating and socializing on the floor but also on the clock helping customers? Anyways, the food is of your quintessential "cheap Chinese buffet" variety. Stir-fried meats, veggies, chow mein, lots of fried foods and you can't forget the pizza and bbq ribs. The sushi is quite pathetic. They literally have tuna salad rolls... really? The nigiri looked gross and withered. It really goes to show that you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a cheap meal and cheap food, Hibachi is your spot. read more

Came here on new years day, and was impressed with the prices and the mass amount of people here. I was extremely excited because it smelled strongly of seafood odor the second you walk in the door. And seafood is kinda my thing. Walked around and was disappointed there were no crab legs. I've always thought crab legs was a must-have at asian seafood buffets. Their stuffed mushroom tasted like JUST MUSHROOM. Their crab wontons needed salt. All of their cheese-baked seafood needed salt. And the worst thing was, their honey walnut shrimp tasted like 95% flour and 5% shrimp. Even the shrimp part tasted like fake shrimp meat. All of my family got sick after eating at that restaurant and the people that picks up plates would NOT stop staring at my mother-in-law's cleavage. Came here for lunch based on all of the reviews and pictures, but I was extremely disappointed when I saw that they did not have any fresh oysters or mussels. My guess is that those dishes are only available for dinner. However, I tried to enjoy the other food selections that they had, but everything was rather bland and not appetizing. I had 2 plates, a little bit of everything before judging, but I was not impressed whatsoever. I don't know how it is for dinner, but I won't be back for lunch. My co-workers enjoyed the meal, since $8.99 for all-you-can-eat is a pretty good price. I would just rather pay that price for a meal that I would actually enjoy. read more

This is the worst buffet to ever eat at. Do not come here. I repeat, refrain from entering this establishment. Otherwise, you'll be sorry. First of all, their grade for their restaurant is an "OKAY". And second, my Husband, sister, and I got food poisoning. This is why I dont do buffets unless it is Muckleshoot Casino. Their dirty dishes area is filthy gross. Food everywhere and all over the floor. I had to watch my step the whole time so I wouldn't slip on anything like I saw a few people do. Their ice cream bar, it's a free for all. Everyone's nasty paws digs in it, and it's definitely not sanitary. Their drink bar isnt clean either, sticky and dirty. There are a whole bunch of straw garbage everywhere. The food area is sloppy.. they put the new food on top of the old. I even saw a worker who replaced the noodles take what fell on the bar side, back in the noodles. At that point, I was just so upset I even spent $20 for this buffet. It is not worth it at all. I was scared to even try their sushi. Lord. The bathrooms are not clean either. They also have damp toilet paper.. it was gross. Their sink area looks like it is just wiped down the night before and becomes a mess throughout the day. Garbage all over and sanitary items on the floor. I do not get why no one is on a routine check every 30 minutes or an hour for them. They need all the love it can get for sure. Kids also grab things with their dirty hands in the fruit/desert bar.. the owner or whoever was telling them no and grab what they can eat otherwise they will be wasting it. Kudos for trying to keep it sanitary I guess, but your whole place was a mess sir. Another thing that was so gross, a waiter grabbed my cup and my Husband's by the lip of the cup where his fingers go inside and my sisters told him we were still here eating - he just takes out his fingers out of our cup that touched the water inside and left it. For the most part, I hate Asian buffets. They tend to be dark, dirty, and smell of old fish. Not this one though! It's nicely organized, clean, bright, and open. The food is pretty good (for Asian buffet, let's keep our expectations in check here, shall we?). Food is frequently refilled and staff are quick to clear your plates. So here's my problem, and it's the problem that plagues every type of buffet. It's the other people!! They are often rude, grabby, they don't control their kids - and they pick their favorite bits out of the dishes like overgrown children. For instance, without fail the chicken, mushrooms, and zucchini dish is completely devoid of chicken, and often zucchini too. Here's the kicker - one section over there's a dish that's nothing but chicken!!! For pity's sake, if you want chicken and don't like mushrooms, eat the dish that's all chicken!!! I wish the staff would put the kibosh on that nonsense because it makes it hard to eat here when the place gets busy and the dishes get picked over. Sigh. read more

We came in very late (my parents just arrived from their trip to Thailand) and wanted a buffet. I'd been to Hibachi before and really liked their offerings since it was piping hot. As we entered, we were told we'd be given 30 minutes to eat and if that was enough (we arrived at 10pm). Thinking it over, 30 minutes was plenty of time. The owner (awesome lady) gave us a special and some boxes to take home. Then the manager came over and started to greet us. For me this was easily the best asian buffet I've ever been to. Made a quick stop to grab lunch while in town picking up coffee beans. The service was friendly and the establishment was relatively clean. The food looked good and tasted good as well.
