Bento box with hot crispy chicken, spicy tuna rolls and 4 pieces of gyoza
    Vinh M.

One of my besties frequently passes by this Latino-owned sushi and teriyaki spot, and we decided to come here in a group of three on a Friday evening around 4:30pm. Actually it's afternoon, but we get less sunlight around this time hence it feels like the evening even at 4pm. Anyway, the inside is brightly lit and is very casual, with the interior feeling like a fast-food joint but with much better seating quality. Their menu consists of teriyaki, Chinese food, sushi, bento boxes, fried rice, yakisoba and many others. They also have a special sushi menu located behind the counter, and one particular kind caught my friend's eye. Servers were patient with us and would come by once in a while to refill our water cups. Now for the food: - We each got our own bento box. For mines, i got their box with hot crispy chicken, spicy tuna rolls and four pieces of gyoza. The hot crispy chicken is already filling on its own, and they don't skimp on the spices. It was really crispy, sometimes to the point of scratching the inside of my mouth. Spicy tuna rolls were standard but also hit the spot, with the mayo sauce and even the tuna being spicy. The gyozas were also standard but were cooked well. Portions here are huge, and I almost asked for a to-go box for my remaining chicken. They didn't provide me with a side of salad as they advertise on their menu, though. It only came with my other friend's bento with chicken teriyaki, California roll and four pieces of gyoza. He did enjoy the teriyaki here, though. - My friend got a Diablo roll, which has a similar mayo sauce on it but is covered on the outside by a layer of Flaming Hot Cheetos. This was even spicier than the spicy tuna rolls which was actually even better. It gets really filling because of all the filling and sauces above it, and carries a familiar crunch with the Hot Cheetos covering. This place has some big portions for their food and needs more exposure! I'd be back for their other dishes and offerings.

The server was super nice, my review has nothing really bad to say really, the price just didn't really reflect the value for me. The food was pretty run if the mill for a teryaki/sushi place. I'll never understand $10+ for a California roll but I had a hankering for one so that's that. The restaurant itself was very clean and I did enjoy the food but there really wasn't anything that stood out, which is fine, but $34 for teryaki, a Cali roll and a sprite isn't really appealing imo. Maybe I'm just a cheap-ass old man yelling at the clouds about "back in my day when teryaki was 4.99!"

My husband and I went to wok and roll for date night and we loved everything! Such unique flavor combinations and friendly service. We loved the Jalepeno poppers and the Diablo roll. Everything was fresh and flavorful. We will be back soon

Food was great very delicious and tasteful. If your not ethnic you wouldn't know about seasoning about tasteful about deliciousness was about to not even come because of some of these comments but I told my husband some people lack tastebuds so what's the worst that can happen we don't come again. Well let me tell yall worth the $122.00 we spent enjoying this Mexican style teriyaki/sushi ‍

Was craving sweet and sour chicken and saw this highly rated spot on Google reviews. They surely exceeded my expectations! The young lady who took my order was so kind and her and the chef were very accommodating for my order request. The food came out piping hot and so delicious, I'll let the photo speak for itself. The chef was so sweet and came out to check on how everything was tasting. The lady who took my order also checked in with me as well. I adore kind service and Wok and Roll definitely has that here! Such a lovely spot to get your Asian American fast food craving fix, tons of options on the menu u as well! The space is pristine as well. First time dining here and most definitely won't be my last!

Stopped by this newish Kent teriyaki spot because we loved the fun name Wok & Roll and wanted to see how their teriyaki compared to the rest. Teriyaki is big business and very competitve even in this area when you got Bucks, Kings teriyaki, Tokyo Town, and Saya and Chopsticks just further down the street. We got the tempura california roll and teriyaki chicken. I do feel the prices here are higher than they should be BUT the food was very good and the young workers who welcomed us were friendly and welcoming. We will be back to try more menu items if in the area. Also liked the nice covered outdoor seating!

The place is very small which makes sense since he only serve 1 group at a time. This might be my personal opinion but Because it's only one group, I hoped it would have been a little more interactive, like the chef could have explained his technique and skills while we were waiting or at least let us see what he was doing. We sat at the bar table but it was blocked by a counter so we couldn't see anything and he didn't talk and we had to wait around 15 minutes for our first dish. Foodwise: 10 piece nigiri --- love the different fishes that was available and all of them has their own distinct texture and flavor. My husband who loves nigiri said it was a fun experience. Scallop inari - scallop was cream and soft and smooth, I think the sweetness was a little overpowering though. Seabass crudo --- for how little there was of the fish itself, there was a lot of olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. After finishing the fish, I was hoping to have some bread to eat more of the oil. Special maguro don--- I love this dish - the fish melts in your mouth, the rice went well with the fish and the wasabi was delicious. Price was also very reasonable for the quality of fish. Overall, it was a good experience, I definitely would recommend

For the sushi, the tropical roll had a nice addition of mango, but the sweet chili sauce was a little too sweet for my preference, especially for a sushi roll. The Pacific Garden roll had fresh-tasting yellowtail, salmon, and tuna, and I enjoyed the crunch from the asparagus. However, one of my pet peeves is when menus list crab or crab salad in a roll, but it ends up being imitation crab/krab. I really wish restaurants were more straightforward about what they're using, especially because I enjoy real crab, but am not a big fan of imitation crab in sushi rolls. This restaurant used the words crab salad and I thought it meant that they still used real crab in it. The rainbow roll and edamame were just alright. The gyoza was also disappointing because it wasn't crispy and didn't have much flavor. Presentation was another thing that fell a little short for me. I wasn't impressed with the plating, especially with the random pieces of greens on the plate. Overall, the sushi and sashimi had some fresh components(the highlight), but there were a few things that missed the mark for me. Service was just okay and nothing particularly stood out.

I love menus that allow me to order varied items but also basic items like sashimi, and this place had both. They make a lot of different hand rolls that are packaged individually, as well as what's called a sushi donut (sashimi layered over donut shaped rice ball. The ramen tasted great but not impressive or memorable enough for me to drive all the way back to Federal Way. I dined in solo and actually didn't finish the ramen or even remember exactly what I ordered. I'm guessing it's the spicy negi. The broth was spicy and enjoyable but definitely didn't taste any different compared to other ramen places I've been to. I tend to eat slow to savor my food, but I felt like the staff was overattentive and frequently stopped by my table to ask if everything was okay. Gave me the vibe that they needed to keep themselves busy or I was taking up a table. Might be great for other customers but it affected my experience with dining in; I usually finish my meals at restaurants but I felt rushed so I just ended up bringing the ramen home for my son, after the second or third time of them asking me if I wanted a takeout box. I'm still giving 4 stars just because the ramen tasted better than mediocre, less than spectacular. I just have high expectations for ramen and prefer more broth/topping variety (I was raised in Cali with options i dearly miss). Plus, I do like that they added a full egg for the ramen (instead of half an egg, like other restaurants I've been to) and the chasu portions were fair. I haven't tried any other ramen places in Federal Way (if there are any), but I guess if this is one of the better options (according to Yelp), it might be worth a shot to try out?

That's why this next part is insane to say... but these guys managed to blow past my expectations and made me call this my favorite food spot in all of Kent. Friday the 13th we got hit with a sudden snow drop after a recent strong storm just a few days prior. Power in the area was already pretty touch and go, and my wife and I had come in late from work and decided to eat out. I'd say we placed the order around 40 minutes before their usual closing time, so I knew I was pushing it. Shortly after placing the order, I get a call from the restaurant. I fully expected them to tell me they were closing early and were going to cancel my order. To my surprise, they actually were willing to make the order but just asked that I get there before 8:30 p.m. Easy, it was 8:13, and I lived 7 minutes away. Get there with plenty of time. When I arrive, I tip the staff and graciously thank them for taking my last-minute order. After waiting for a bit, Steve, the owner, tells me that they messed up on one of the items on my order and would need to remake it, but they would provide me with the mistake at no cost. Next, he let me know that he provided me with free wontons, just because. The food, as always, was amazing, even the "mistake" meal, which allowed me to explore the menu a bit more. However, we saw that this place opens on Sundays (they had several banners saying that they were open on Sundays too) after the original place we wanted to check out had a sudden kitchen maintenance. This restaurant is a lot bigger than other teriyaki restaurants with booth and chair seats, plenty of big or small tables, two TVs playing different sports, and it was the temperature was perfect. They have a big menu so it's easy to see the prices and their offerings, which consists of teriyaki, soups, Chinese food, sushi and bubble tea. Their prices are very reasonable and the upcharge on fried rice is the lowest I've seen but I think there's a reason for that (it's pretty bland). The cashier lady was efficient at her job but definitely could be friendlier and I wish she wasn't super snappy, there was no real rush and we were maybe their fourth order during that time. We opted to dine in and took our seat waiting for food. They have offer fountain drinks and bottled drinks, as well as water cups. We got our utensils and sauce cups first then our food arrived not too long afterwards. My boyfriend got their chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu combo with fried rice while I got their chicken teriyaki and California roll combo. I love that they have steamed veggies as I like to enjoy any remaining teriyaki sauce with them. The California rolls were decent, not the best but not the worst either. The teriyaki sauce is pretty good, it is a great mix of sweet and savory. They are also very generous with rice as there was a bed of under my teriyaki and two scoops. My boyfriend enjoyed the katsu and the sauce that came with it was very delicious! The only issue we had was that the fried rice had no seasoning or color, I almost thought it was white rice with some veggies at first. Other than that, a solid teriyaki joint that seemed to have a good amount of people coming in to pick up orders for the most part.
