Crab Rangoons (half of an order of six)
    Mark K.

Kept hearing about this place, and noticed they are spreading across Columbus. And drove right past this one, so figured I'd stop in. Tiny, with a few tables. Busy at noon on a weekday, but I got my order (chose to take it home) in about 5 minutes. Friendly, helpful service. And good food. Got the large crab Rangoon. Clearly pre-made, kinda shaped like empanadas, filled with crab-flavored cheese with no chunks of crab. Tasty, and, I mean, fried, so double tasty. Big portion. And a huge portion of my entree, spicy chicken teriyaki. You choose the starch and whether to include veggies. I got them, and brown rice, so it was somewhat healthy. There was lots of chicken, tender and flavorful, and moderately spicy. A little on the blackened side, probably because the kitchen was hopping, but not bad. I enjoyed it and have enough for later too. I'll avoid the lunch rush next time and maybe dine in. Limited menu, just fast and good. Follow your eyes to get there, not just your GPS. Take the entrance off the roundabout. Getting back out is more complicated. It's in a strip mall off Hamilton, but with roundabouts and some one-way lanes, curving around behind the buildings.

Service was good, portion size was generous, and it was very tasty! I thought the price point was right as well.

Normally that bothers me when there's multiple cultures on a menu because there's not a speciality but I had Korean and Japanese items that tasted great. Only thing I thought that didn't belong on the menu was Chicken Farfalle pasta. Spoiler alert, large portions so be warned that a lot of items can be shared on don't get too many. The price I paid when I ordered sushi and an entree. My favorite sushi roll was the Citrus Rainbow Roll. Good quality fish plus the citrus helped create an additional flavor. Another thing to order is the Kalbi Beef. Service was great. Our server suggested items that were all great. Only disappointment was the sake I ordered. It wasn't the best taste I have had.

It made perfect size rolls look of the caliber of supermarket quality.. it's a simple fix.. offer to remake the roll.. if you offer to have the roll cut down you're now making 6 into 12.. just let it be.. instead "that's how it comes" no it's not, not 5 other times in the last week and a half I've been there! I asked why he would be making this into something it didn't need to be? The second server who took care of me yesterday remarked that I complained yesterday too, which didn't happen. I asked him what I complained about-allegedly I complained about the sauce.. didn't happen. The excessive sauce on the Titantic went amazing with the OSU roll which comes with none.. I ended up speaking to the manager.. he listened and was extremely nice. I would have come back to eat there another 5 times next week ordering the same rolls and not bother trying anywhere else.. now I don't feel comfortable because of these servers... Could this be an isolated incident? Maybe. Am I comfortable eating there as much as I was and would have continued? Absolutely not. A waste of an incredible restaurant. Hopefully I can try again when I come back in a few months and get the server with the mustache.. that dude is an 11/10. Super disappointed that this is a rave review like it should have been. 80 percent of my experience was perfection. Here's hoping you enjoy your visit!

I saw that the place had a couple of bad reviews, but I decided to try it anyway. I'm sure glad I did! I didn't experience any of the complaints that were described in the bad reviews. I found the decor, ambience, and the people working there to all be pleasant. I ordered my usual hibachi meal... filet and chicken combo, fried rice, no vegetables. Of course, it came with soup and salad. The salad was fresh, and it was a nice size portion. The soup was just as expected. The chef appeared shortly and verified the orders of the few of us at the table. He was an older man. He was very skilled at his job. He didn't go overboard with the show part, and the food was cooked perfectly. This was actually among the best hibachi experience I've ever had. Both the filet and the chicken, were a good sized portion, and cooked exactly as requested. I can't say I cleaned my plate, but there wasn't enough left to ask for a to-go box! And that is just how it should be, in my opinion. The price was also very good! Less than I usually pay for similar meals. Honestly, I can't think of one thing that I have a complaint about. That evening, I was talking to my friends that I'm traveling with. I shared my experience with them, and that said "Okay, that's it. We're having hibachi for dinner!" All I can say is that, maybe the few bad reviews prompted a change, or maybe there was something else. But I'm happy that I gave Sakura a chance. They earned this review, by giving me a great lunch experience.

Every item came out of the grill tastes perfect! I'm glad we came here! They even brings bowl of ice cream with little fireworks and sing the happy birthday song for us! It's very nice! I highly recommend this place!

We spent $230 (w/ tip) and it was worth every penny. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in the city. We passed by this place multiple times on our way elsewhere. We're Mario fans, so the name Yoshi caught our eye, but the cramped strip mall exterior doesn't exactly scream culinary dream. We decided to take a chance, and let me just say--wow. It's an intimate space with just a few tables and an 8-10 seat sushi bar. We didn't have reservations (make one, they fill up fast) but managed to snag seats at the bar. The service immediately stood out. We had better attention here than at some upscale steakhouses--glasses never went empty, and their menu suggestions were spot on. One minor heads-up: at the sushi bar, staff sometimes walk behind you to talk to the chefs, which can be a bit distracting. For starters, we grabbed the gyoza and asked for a standout small plate. They pointed us to the beef tongue. It arrived hot with shredded onions and spicy mustard, delivering a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a deep, beefy richness. The gyoza was equally flawless. Instead of the overly chewy or burnt wrappers you find at most spots, these had a delicate, golden-brown sear with an intensely savory, garlicky umami filling. We paired this with Sayuri sake, a creamy, unfiltered pour that perfectly balanced sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Since we love nigiri, we ordered a spread: tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, sweet shrimp, and Japanese scallop, plus a salmon/avocado roll. The cuts were impeccably sourced and practically dissolved on the tongue. You rarely find this level of consistency. Just a heads up--they prepare it the traditional way, meaning there is a dab of wasabi tucked directly under the fish. We also tried the Wagyu A-5 roll. It's about as "meat and potatoes" as a roll can get: steak, carrots, asparagus, and rice. The seared Wagyu fat melted instantly, creating a decadent, buttery glaze over the crisp vegetables. It's one of those rare foods that genuinely forces you to pause after each bite. At $40, it was 100% worth it. I can't say enough about this experience. Next time, we're leveling up to the fatty tuna and Wagyu experience on their special menu. That's the exact culinary peak we've been looking for, and incredibly, it's tucked inside a suburban strip mall. Absolutely brilliant.
