Yummy food at a fair price but the fried rice doesn't have egg or any peas or carrots in it. It's just soy sauce and rice. I love the chicken here and the sauce is a little different that most places. It's more of a syrup consistency but still good nonetheless. I've recently been getting the bento box and love it. The salad doesn't have any dressing but it's a good break from the hibachi to clean your pallet. The dumplings are super crispy and yummy as well. It would be nice if they added California rolls to their bento boxes like other hibachi places I've been to. I love the mixed vegetables as well, mainly the zucchini. I enjoy getting my food from here. I mainly just get it to go. I never spend more than $15 even when I an extra side. Edit: seems they added way too much onion to my mixed vegetable. so much so that I thought I had ordered zucchini and onion (which they do sell) but the receipt says mixed vegetables and there were a few pieces of broccoli and carrot in there. sadly had to take one star away for that. it was like they used a whole half of an onion for my side order of mixed vegetables. I don't even like onions that much. :( They happily took my to go order to be picked up at 8:50pm when they close at 9:30. When we arrived to pick the to go order up there were still a good amount of people inside like a paramedics car was parked in front and the workers were eating there. The noodles are a dollar extra to substitute for the salad. They remind me of spaghetti noodles cooked in hibachi style possibly to cut the costs but it was still good. Could use garlic butter bough to make it more flavorful and tasty.

I enjoyed the sushi. I ordered the king role for six dollars and miso soup. However, the soup was so scalding hot that it burned my tongue for a couple of days. The sushi tasted great, but the rice was not sticking together so it was hard to consume. My husband ordered a chicken and rice dish and he was not pleased at all. The meat had no flavor and the sauce was very bland. We may be back, but not for the chicken. I guess this is a local favorite because they were busy with a lot of takeout orders. We just were not very impressed, But the place was clean

If you're looking for excellent hibachi fare, generous portions and very reasonable prices, look no further. Hibachi Expess isn't the only Hibachi game in town, but they are certainly one of the very best. Forget the frills and fancy decor of some local Hibachi eateries. Hibachi Express puts it's focus where it matters most, great tasting food, plenty of it, at reasonable prices, and fast! They always keep me coming back again and again!

We went on a Monday evening to do Hibachi, it was 5p when we got there and we were the only ones doing hibachi. It's always so good, entertaining and fun. Michelle had the filet & chicken, I had the filet and shrimp. You get the salad, soup, sweet carrots, the noodles, fried rice and your entree, it's such a good meal! Great value for the $ and the service and food quality is consistently excellent.

Get your staff together. I would have give zero star if I could. Been coming since day it opened. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had made the reservation 6 weeks in advance but the front desk had no record of it when our party of 7 arrived. Thankfully I was able to find their confirmation email and so we were seated shortly thereafter. The waiter took our drink orders and the first round came out within 5 minutes but the others (2 sodas and 1 beer) took an additional 20 minutes and 3 rounds of reminders to the waiter. Our chef did not start cooking until nearly 45 minutes after we'd been seated despite everyone at our grill being there. The chef (Brandon) was the highlight of the visit as while he was soft spoken he was clearly quite capable and did a great job cooking everyone's food. I hope he can obtain a role at one of the better restaurants in the Charlotte area and get away from this place! Once the cooking/show was over we had to wait another 30 minutes for our check and the party seated by ours eventually went to the front desk to complain. While we were waiting, family members went to use the restroom and noticed an attendant standing outside waiting to clean. He did not say a word as people entered though. Clearly he should have been giving out warnings because once inside there was a very foul scene involving bodily fluids and waste all the over the floor.

When Tokyo Japan opened up a little over a month ago, we saw the great reviews. I knew we had to check it out. Not going to bash the other place. So I'll just give the positives of Tokyo Japan. Much much more spacious. And clean. The chefs are much more professional and spot on as far as making the meals. We dine at a hibachi table with a family who had several allergic concerns. So the chef took his time to make sure everything was addressed, which we all really appreciated. For the first time I ordered the calamari and shrimp hibachi dinner. And it was superb. Miso soup was great as was the salad with the sesame dressing. We will absolutely be back. we are very much looking forward to going back! Kudos the management, the staff and our chef.

Our server Abby R was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a trio of appetizers for the table: Szechuan dumplings, wonton chips with crab Rangoon dip, and KFC (Korean fried chicken). The wings were as good as expected, great flavor, piping hot and crunchy. The real surprise was the wonton and Rangoon dip combination. Just a stellar idea, executed spectacularly. The Szechuan dumplings were a little spicy and tasty, but they were just warm, which gave them an oily mouth feel. I got a to-go order of pork fried rice, and I have to say, I could've done without it. Pulled pork just doesn't go with fried rice, flavorwise or texturally. The biggest disappointment about the meal was when I attempted to settle my tab. I walked to the front counter and was confronted by a young woman who snapped, "We don't take money up here!" Thankfully, Abby came out and took my payment, but the first young lady was so offputting, it will be a while before I go back, if ever. Definitely not how you convert a first-timer into a regular customer.

My ticket says her name was Nancy; she didn't introduce herself. I didn't like that she did not take orders from patrons in the order they arrived, she worked from the front. Since we were at the last table, others who came in after us placed their order while we just sat and waited. When she finally came to us, I asked about any specials. She showed that the poke bowls are $10. I got the ahi tuna one. It was very delicious. I saw a smoked peach old fashioned. It was ok. I guess the peach is smoked ahead of time and turned into a syrup, because my drink did not get smoked at all. Hubby bought a corona. Service of course was non existent because she was doing almost everything herself! I had to ask for more water on this 95+ degree day. Her busy ness is not her fault, that falls on management/scheduling. Tvs stay on sports. Looks like they have an upstairs space too. I can image they are packed for happy hour. I am rarely in this town, so I cannot say Ill be back. But I will recommend for others to go try!
