I am not going to knock this place for being outdated; for me, it was about the food selection. Booths are available to seat up to six, a little dark.It is quiet so it is easy to have a conversation. We were greeted and seated immediately. Once our drink order was taken, we were allowed to explore many options. I am not sure how to describe everything I had. I only had a short lunchtime, so I did not get to try the Hibachi. I will give it a try next time. The sushi and hibachi bars are not shown. My favorite dish was the coconut chicken, I enjoyed the egg drop soup (there were 3 more soup options). The rice noodles had the most flavor out of all the noodles. Salmon was nice not fishy. read more

They are closed on Tuesdays. This is the most important detail. The restaurant is in a strip mall. Drivers can get careless so pay attention when pulling in the parking area. We are not regularly visiting buffets since it is too easy to over eat. I look for a handful of items that work for me (usually soup, low mein or a stir fry & a vegetable). This location is far enough away that is won't be on our regular rotation. Check out the food (they don't mind if you look) and see if enough dishes are "calling" to you. The restaurant is clean. Place is really great. Yea they don't have condiments and napkins on the table but is that really such a big deal? Pro: big parking lot, attentive staff. Con: outdated interior, limited food food, soy sauce packet, no condiment at table. Now that my body has somewhat recovered from eating here I can now write this review. Looking back at this restaurant today, I view it with disappointment like how an Asian parent see disappointment in there child for not getting all A's on there report card. A friend invited me to go here without checking out the reviews and this would come back to haunt us in the end. The parking lot is big so no issue there. Upon entering we were greeted by the host and seated. Then I went to go get some food and they didn't look to appetizing compare to other all you can eat( AYCE) restaurants I been to. Started with some Lo mein and the type of noodle they used was wrong and very bland, no seasoning at all. Had some wonton soup, fish, and fruits which were decent. Then ended with some ice cream and even that tasted weird. We weren't there for even an hour and the waiter bring us the check which is rude. My stomach was hurting leaving the restaurant and the bathroom was calling my name. At the table there were no condiment( soy sauce, ketchup) so you have to go to the food area where they have soy sauce in small packets which is just sad. All in all, I wouldn't recommend this place to anybody and don't see myself coming back here again read more

We found this restaurant by a thread on Facebook, where several people stated it was a good buffet. So we drove from Martinsburg to check it out. We were excited to find a Chinese buffet with Hibachi. We were there at the beginning of dinner service, hoping everything would be fresh. The restaurant itself needs a good update. It's a little "used" looking. We were greeted as we walked in, and promptly seated and drink order taken. We hit the hibachi bar first. Everything was fresh and clean. The guy behind the grill was lacking in friendliness but he did cook well and put enough sauce on our dishes. We left tips. Next up was the sushi bar. They have the basics. Mostly everything was using the same ingredients, just displayed differently. Imitation crab meat instead of any fresh fish. The other option was "spicy tuna" that comes from a can. I can say the pickled ginger was great! Next was soup and the "regular" food. To me... you can judge a Chinese restaurant by their hot and sour soup. I was excited because the soup pot was full and it looked good, with lots of ingredients. I would rate the hot and sour soup as a 4 out of 10. It looked great, but it tasted like straight chili sauce/oil. It had no sour/vinegar taste it should have. A little tweaking is needed. This place has lots of choices when it comes to hot food. BUT you know what they say...." Quality vs Quantity ". You get one or the other. I mean the food is edible and they were keeping items stocked and pans full. It's just all Americanized Chinese food. Lots of deep fried food!!! If your looking for quality... you will not be happy eating at this establishment. My bar is set pretty high when it comes to Chinese/ Asian food. Nothing in this whole area will compare to Shu Chen's in Charles Town, WV. Where it was real authentic Chinese recipes. Unfortunately they retired and closed the restaurant. I am still on the lookout for something comparable. As far as this restaurant goes, it was nice trying this place out, but we won't be returning anytime soon. The buffet in Hagerstown is better. Six hot tables and one cold table plus a decent array of sushi and a Teppanyaki grill. For Chinese buffet, pretty good with the usual options including black pepper pork, lo mein, dumplings, and a number of other different vegetables and proteins in various sauces. Options for kids too including mac & cheese and pizza. The sushi is where I spent most of my time. There were ten or so plates set up with various rolls and even a hand roll. The sushi was in decent condition though the bowl of wasabi needed some tidying. The rest of the buffet was decently stocked and kept clean. read more

This buffet needs to step up its game to survive. I've been to some real nice ones and this was a huge disappointment. The food was very basic and it was either all dried out or swimming in a pool of what I assumed (or hoped to be) water. The decor is okay but the booths and tables show their age. We read the Yelp reviews before we went but still were not really prepared for what we were walking into. The restaurant is clean. But it's dated. I remember when this was a Hoss's 20 years ago and not much has changed. The food is... O.k. the sesame chicken takes like the general tso chicken, they had shrimp on ice next to the deserts, the mac-n-cheese tasted like water, the pizza sauce tasted weird, etc... I had a good many items myself and they were alright, nothing wowed me. The waiters we're great. Took empty plates and refilled drinks quickly. They were also polite. We couldn't find any prices anywhere until we walked in an were committed. $15 for an adult $7.50 for our older kid. $2.50 per soda. Hit me with tax and 4 adults, one older kid 5 sodas... 90 dollars. To rich for my blood and not good enough for me to want to try to come back. Oddly enough, the place had a lot of people there. read more

Dont know why people hate on Hibachi Grill its a great restaurant. I've been going here for years and they food is really good. I really enjoy both kinds of dumplings they have, green beans, broccoli, white noodles ( not sure that's what its called) , Spicy orange chicken and regular orange chicken. The restaurant is nice and clean they provide clean dishes, forks, spoons and knifes. They also have chopsticks and provide sauces. Their ice cream is good and they get you your drink of choice. When you approach this restaurant, it appears to be one of those crappy, dirty buffets. The parking lot smelled a bit like sewage. But once you got inside it's a true gem. It's clean and quiet, and the staff was wonderfully attentive and so kind. The food was tasty, there was a good variety and lots to enjoy for anybody's taste. Hubby decided he wanted hibachi for lunch. Reading the reviews i was skeptical on coming here. We asked a local and he said today it was ok. He admitted it was a hit and miss here as well. Food was okay for lunch. The major exception was the mac n cheese, it was just covered in oil. I know its not traditional fare but something that many have and a basis for me. I didn't eat a ton here but the fresh fruit was also hit and miss. The cantaloupe was soft and flavorful and the honeydew wasn't. The hibachi sauce used was liked by hubby, the main reason we went anyways. Bathrooms were fairly clean, paper towel for one of the dispensers just went out so idk how quickly they refill. Mens room had a couple paper towels but nothing major there either. Lots of individuals in for lunch a little more expensive then stated in prior posts maybe because its Friday. Solid 3 stars. Large selection of Chinese and non-Chinese (pizza, Mac and cheese, sausage, mashed potatoes, etc.). Nothing was particularly great. Nothing was particularly bad. I did not try the hibachi. If I go back, I'll try that and update my review accordingly. The "hibachi chicken" in the buffet was by far the best. Many of the items were WAY too sweet for me. The fried dumpling was greasy but okay in flavor. The pork bun lacked flavor and was a bit dried out. But I didn't come here for dim sum. You'd get pretty full just tasting a bite of each dish. And you probably wouldn't want seconds on many of them. I had to flag down a waiter and ask for a drink refill, despite many servers passing by the empty glass I placed at the edge of the table. I guess they view unfilled drinks as money in the bank. There was a large tour bus leaving when I arrived and another one showed up as I left. Several dishes were kept fresh (hibachi chicken, bourbon chicken, chicken on stick, egg rolls) and other dishes sat old and tired (pork buns, tacos, all the American food). Will I be back? Maybe but, quite honestly, I prefer the buffet across the street. It's WAY better quality though far limited options. I have no need for American food at a Chinese buffet so I can't see myself finding a reason to chose this place over the competition. In short, price was reasonable ($10 including a Pepsi for lunch). We went here yesterday, the food must have been prepared way in advance because it was old. They increased the buffet yesterday to 13.99 for adults and 7.99 for children. There are a few thing that taste good here, but not worth the price. It was busy and they still didn't manage to put fresh food out. We go to a buffet in Frederick MD that puts this place to shame. I can't help but wonder if the restaurant is paying people to give this place good reviews that it hardly deserves. They really should spend that money on the food and the wait staff, both of which are clearly lacking. The cuisine wasn't especially bad, but I've had much better food elsewhere. (ranging from 'authentic' to fusion) It's not really worth the price charged for the quality, and the awful service definitely takes away a star. If it was cheaper and had at least decent service, it would have rated a three. In all, skip this place and go next door. The spread isn't as plentiful, but what you do have is of a much better quality and the service is excellent. Or if you're in the mood for something a little more upscale, across the street, which also boasts excellent quality and service. Between these two, Hibachi is sadly redundant. read more

What's your qualifier for a great buffet? Mine is decent quality variety at a fair price. Don't like the enormous selection of items on the buffet? Trek straight to the back for fresh hibachi or fresh sushi (or both). Have a little of everything. If you take a taste of each thing on offer, you'd have several full plates worth without going back for full portions of anything. Not everything is of amazing quality, but most things are good, and you can't beat the price. If you don't have drinks, two can dine in for lunch for $16 (not counting tip); how many places can you say that of? We don't even normally make it out of Wendys for less than $20. I just recently learned that this restaurant had opened and when I got a coupon in the mail, it just seemed like I should give it a try. I thought the buffet had a wide variety of options. As a vegetarian, I was easily able to choose from a variety of options. The hibachi grill was my favorite part, though it is worth noting that you should be up-front with the sauces you want as when I first went up the griller just started pouring on everything. Maybe it was odd of me to expect him to ask... Otherwise it was very good. I love sushi, but a quick glance over the sushi told me just to pass it. Maybe it was just me, but it didn't seem overly appealing and there was a very small selection. The dessert bar had eight different self serve ice creams to choose from, strawberries, watermelon, and even pineapple! (They also had bananas, but they were kinda ruined by an overly sugary red sauce poured overtop, so I avoided them.) I love finding fruits on a dessert bar. There were cookies, creme puffs, and mini-cakes as well. I read the reviews here before going so I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it turned out to be. I didn't have any problem with the service being slow. In fact, my waitress was very attentive. I don't think an empty plate remained for more than a minute and I never had an empty glass. I'm not really sure where the beautiful decor mentioned by others was. Maybe I missed it (though I was looking). There was a waterfall piece near the entrance. It was nice, but nothing too spectacular. The restaurant didn't have an overt asian theme decor feel to it to me. And I honestly didn't care. I generally go to restaurants for the food, not to look at the walls. The fortune cookies they give you at the end of your meal have trans fats, so I'd avoid any pastry items from this restaurant as they don't seem to be opposed to using these dangerous compounds (which is disappointing, but not surprising). Overall, it was a great meal for a very fair price. And they even offer discounts to students if you remember your college ID. This alone is reason enough for me to return again and again. It's great to see a restaurant sympathetic with the financial struggles of students. I'd recommend giving the place a try. read more

Dinner is now $9.59, $10.48 with tax. The sushi is pretty decent (the nigiri is better than the rolls). The seafood (octopus, clams, mussels) wasn't the greatest, but I wasn't expecting Nobu for 10 bucks. Plus, there are 8 flavors of ice cream you can scoop yourself. A lot of the food is hit or miss - like with many buffets. Let things sit for hours, get stale, stir things around a bit...sit longer...eck. NO PLEASE! But the stuff that goes quickly is pretty yummy. Can't complain about the fresh stuff. There are some strange, STRANGE items...things you don't usually see at buffets...like uh, fully intact baby squid (husband LOVES these!!). The price...unbeatable. So - if you're SERIOUSLY hungry, have a big family...or a husband who can throw back the food...this is a great place just for price and quantity. I'd vote - check 'em out. For the price ($8.95/dinner) you can't do any better. They have plenty of shrimp dishes, including cold shrimp to peel that are good-sized. Also, they have mussels, clams, frog legs, sea bass, fried fish, octopus, etc. What they don't have are oysters and crab legs, but I've been to places where they had them and the price was much higher. The best feature is the hibachi grill where you literally choose all the veggies, meat, and lo-mein or rice to have someone stir-fry for you and seasoned as you wish. There are some dishes that I avoided. The "prime rib" didn't look prime to me, but more like pot roast. The variety is so big that you can't even sample any more than about 10% so out of all the offerings, you will find something satisfying, for sure. read more

This place has got it's act together. It was a really satisfying, super casual dining experience. You've got to keep in mind that this is a place that tries to be all things to all people. They don't do everything great, but they do do enough stuff that's surprisingly good. Been there twice in 3 days and will probably go back again before we leave Winchester. And I haven't tried all the offerings yet. The variety of dishes is prodigious. I concentrated on the Japanese and Chinese Cuisine. Very fresh Maki rolls with a pleasing flavor. As good as many Japanese restaurants. Enough variety to choose from. The Chinese was very decent as well. Also very fresh. And it satisfied my Chinese Food brain receptors. Met my expectations. The most exitement you can expect takes place at the hibachi grill station. Nice selection of fresh, raw ingredients like... beef, shrimp and all kinds of vegetables... All delivered to the Grill Chef to cook up in his sometimes flambouyant style. Quite nice. I have yet to sample the roasted meats and a few American style comfort foods. But I did indulge in a little dessert. There's at least 6 or so choices that seem to change a bit from day to day. Cream puffs, Banana pudding, etc., and 8 flavors of a very good tasting ice cream. Overall, in my opinion, Hibachi is a very impressive restaurant. Here's why... the food is fresh and well prepared... The steam tables were kept clean... Have been coming here for two years. Very up and down; now that I am over 60 I have to start a diet; how to at a buffet?? If you are a glutton or broke or have a pickey kid who wants tired "pizza" or pasta, here it is, in spades, the selection is HUGE! First, the "sushi" please, it's tasty and filling, no Japanese were harmed in its making, but it's not Sushi. The Hibachi grill is great, if you speak gutter Spanish, you will get GREAT service, (smiley) don't skip all the "sauce" or it will be too dry; quit now and you are ahead. All the rest is an amalgam of the American experience. You could have lunch here for a month, try something new every day and be happy; on the other hand, you could be very, very disappointed. BTW, the Hot & Sour soup isn't bad, and that is the TRUE test of a Chinese place. There are mussels and all kinds of Asian seafood plus the lowest commen denominator of slop.
