I was preparing to tell her how I wanted to change the trial makeup to something more pink, but that morning, Jessie brought up the idea of changes to me first! She suggested a pink look would look better and I was impressed because I felt the same way. I appreciated that Jessie spoke out about what she thought would look better on me; I felt like she had my back! In total, we had 11 people who needed both hair and makeup. I was worried that it would take a very long time, but Jessie and her two assistants run like a well-oiled machine! Started at 8am, done by 1230pm! All my girls looked beautiful!! The makeup lasted all day! Jessie even gave me a little pouch of materials for touch up, but I didn't need it! My hair also stayed in place all night long! She even taught my bridesmaids how to help put on and remove my veil without messing up my hair or the flowers in it! I had balayage highlights and a trim done on December 2nd, totaling $708 including tip. Within 4-5…read moredays I noticed my highlights turning brassy, and by day 7-8 they were extremely brassy. I reached out to Mola on day 8 to ask about coming in for another toner. Due to scheduling conflicts, I wasn't able to come back until December 23rd. A toner was applied, which I assumed would be complimentary given how quickly the brassiness appeared, but paid $177 including tip. Unfortunately, within a week the highlights were brassy again. I reached out on December 30th to let her know. She suggested it could be due to hard water, but I do not have hard water, and the brassiness started appearing before I ever washed my hair. After doing some research, I learned that if highlights are not lifted enough, brassy tones can return very quickly. I asked if some of the highlights could be corrected, as this was a big financial investment and I was very unhappy with the result. After that, she completely stopped responding to my emails. Being ghosted after spending nearly $900 total is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. I expected better communication and accountability.

Customers should know the total mandatory price before committing to a service. California's Honest Pricing Law generally requires advertised prices to include mandatory charges rather than adding them later. Protein treatment: It was not simply "recommended." I specifically asked whether I could decline the treatment, and I was told no. At that point I had already paid a $250 non-refundable deposit, so I did not feel I had a real choice. Now I read the Google and yelp review, find multiple people have similar experiences, I wish I have read them earlier to avoid this place. 20% service fee: There is a significant difference between voluntarily service payment after receiving service and being required to pay a mandatory service fee before the service is even started. My previous visits do not change that distinction since those were paid after service was rendered. If a 20% fee is mandatory, customers should see that reflected in the advertised price rather than discovering a higher required total afterward. Plus I couldn't not find the 20% fees anywhere in the website and as I customer I'm not responsible to search policy everywhere of this shop if it's not mentioned in the confirmation message. $50 consultation fee: At no point when I booked the appointment or during the consultation was I told that selecting a color was a separate $50 consultation. That fee was only mentioned after I messaged you following my appointment, when it was described as something you had "waived." A fee cannot be considered waived if the customer was never informed it existed beforehand. Shampoo experience: When I mentioned the water became hot and then cold, my recollection is that you ended the shampoo and said I was done. I do not recall receiving an apology at that time. After the appointment: I told you I was uncomfortable with the overall experience but had to leave because the appointment started about 15 minutes late and ran longer than expected. And you replied ' That's your problem'. Again, is this 'service' and attitude fair to require 20% additional charges? I am simply sharing my honest experience so that future customers can make informed decisions and walk away this place from being forced to pay for additional services. Everyone deserves to receive good service with the price charged. I had been to this salon before, but unfortunately this visit was very disappointing. First, the appointment started about 15 minutes late, and no advance notice was given. During the hair wash, the water suddenly became extremely hot and then cold. The stylist's first response to me was 'ok you are done' and stopped washing. The biggest issue was the pricing. Before my appointment, I asked about the cost of a full color and was quoted $395+ for shoulder-length hair. During the appointment, I was told I needed a protein treatment for an additional $150. I felt that important pricing details were only explained after I had already arrived, making it difficult to make an informed decision. After I sit in and without any service performed , I was charged a mandatory 20% service fee. I was surprised that this was not presented as an optional tip but as a required charge. While the salon states this is its policy, I personally prefer businesses that are fully transparent about mandatory fees before the appointment is booked. After I shared my concerns, the stylist explained that she had waived a $50 consultation fee because she arrived late. However, I had not been informed beforehand that a consultation fee would apply for discussing color options, so this did not change my overall impression. Overall, I felt the experience lacked transparency in pricing and left me feeling uncomfortable. I respect that every salon has its own policies, but I value clear communication, upfront pricing, punctuality, and allowing customers to make informed decisions before committing to additional services. Situation: Color Correction *see photos*…read more Background: Bad balayage at another at Stilo Salon, by the owner no less, and turned out nowhere near the inspiration photos I brought in. I was hoping for beige highlights and got bright blonde. I asked for a refund and was only offered a "fix it at no cost". I declined. Intervention: Reached out to Vance who did my hair in the past. Don't ask me why I just didn't come back. Vance was able to see me pretty quick and did an AMAZING job!! He gave me beige highlights and darkened the base which I just love. I'm tanned skin so the blonde highlights was not flattering. Evaluation: I am forever grateful for Vance. He is very skilled at his craft. The result was exactly what I was hoping for from the very beginning when I stepped into the other salon. Note to self....i will never see any other stylist. I highly recommend Vance if you're looking for a highly skilled professional that will make you leave his chair feeling confident and amazing about your hair!!!
