On my last visit I had a bit of an unpleasant experience. I saw someone different and they laid on the pressure HARD to upsell me on doing my eyebrows. I always do them myself because everyone thins them out too much, but she assured me she'd just lightly clean them up a little. She did a bit more than I would have preferred but not a huge deal. I go to check out and I'm told the total will be $30! Lip threading is $7 so I question it and she tells me that I'm being charged the eyebrow fee of $22. I question this again as not much was done and was told there isn't a reduced fee for a clean up. She won't budge so I show her their website quotes $25, but refused to honor it. Rajni for sugaring. This place is clean and sterile. Basic no frills. Had full bikini via sugaring but they did not use the traditional sugaring method which is more gentle. By the end of my session, a few parts were quite red and stinging. I would not come back with the same technician. read more

Just to echo a few other experiences. I've been painfully growing my eyebrows for years - I asked the esthetician to help me clean them up. She ended up pulling out my main eyebrows - rather than the strays underneath even though the hair is a completely different texture. I've now ended up with two completely different eyebrows. I try to avoid leaving negative reviews, but this one was a bummer. I also ended up paying $50 which is $15 more than I paid two months ago. read more

Went in for eyebrow threading. Grateful they took me as a walk in. Everything that followed was mediocre at best. On top of this, they are not following Covid protocol. I paid $20 + tip. I've had better threading done for 1/3 of the price. I'm thinking, "okay I'm in SoHo. The service should be great. I want to be taken care of." I won't be returning. I sat in the chair. The woman who threaded me did not wipe my eyebrows or anything to begin with. Then she was finished and I had to point out places that she very visibly missed. I had her go over them again. I was blessed with thick hair that was clearly visible. I'm now home writing this review and I can clearly see random hairs that were missed. After she finished threading she asked if I wanted an ointment. That was the best part of the experience. A gentle 30 second brow line "massage". I go to pay and there is a woman checking out not wearing a mask. There is a sign on the front door that essentially says masks are required for entry. So not only do they not care about being thorough, but being safe during a pandemic is an afterthought. I digress. I won't be returning. Perhaps their other services are worth the price, but this one most certainly was not worth the price or my time. read more

have been a client here for over two years. I purchased two packages for two different services and they no longer provide one of the services. After a month of trying to get a refund, they indicated they would pay me but they pretended they could not find me in Venmo. Then they claimed I no longer had the packages and told me not to come back. Ridiculous. I will file a claim with my bank and hopefully get my money back from these clowns. They clearly stole my $110. We are living in the era of eyebrows. We can't afford losing any critical hairs in the pursuit of growth, and Hibba and her ladies are totally in the know! Most of us have eyebrow waxing PTSD, but no matter who you are at Hibba's they'll treat your eyebrows right. These ladies understand gentleness, shape, and all the angles that make brows look fuller and hip. I visited many times for a threading and tint (highly recommend a tint - it gets those blonde baby hairs!). Threading is far better than waxing for me, since there is no skin irritation. More recently, I began getting my eyebrows microbladed with Hibba. Her prices are really reasonable, and the package included a secondary appointment for touchup. Hibba is very consultative, and she'll chat with you about the shape and make any changes you ask. The brows take about a week and a half to heal, and delivers a super natural result! FYI: Hibba is only in this location on Thursdays. read more

They do not shape your brows, they strip your brows. Like many other reviewers, I request clean up of strays - they stripped my thick healthy brows to pencil-thin strips. And they were crooked! Thought I'd give it another chance since I had a package - I told them not to touch the growth, but they stripped my brows bare again. Tried one last time and used a brow pencil and asked them not to thread anything past the pencil line. My brows were stripped bare and aren't growing back. Be warned. read more

I suppose the old saying, "Pain is beauty" really is true. I had the most painful eyebrow threading experiences after coming here. The location was wonderful, and the person threading my eyebrows was very personable and kind. Thank you, HIBBA for shaping my eyebrows beautifully. Nonetheless, I have my eyebrows threaded once every two-two 1/2 weeks because my hair growth grows very quickly. I was in an immense amount of pain during my threading experience. The eyebrow esthetician had said because my hair was tougher and longer. I asked if the hairs should be trimmed beforehand, and she had said no. Again, she was friendly. I just haven't been through that much pain and I always have my brows threaded. It was rough. Also, it would have been nice to have a little massage with gel. I have been to several places within the $7-12 price range, and the threading comes with this. I also did not like how my eyebrows are "colored" and THEN you are the final product. In minutes and usually with little pain (even when I go 2 months between threading), they give me nicely groomed and shaped brows. By buying a pack as I do, the value is amazing for the service. I used to come to hibba when they we(re located by Columbus circle. I was bummed when they closed down, but I'm so happy that I found this one. I made an appt and was running late and they were really nice about it. When I walked in I was greeted by the receptionist who was really welcoming and sweet. I got a Brazilian was by Angie who was so sweet and kind. It's been a while since I've gotten one so I was a little nervous. She used an aloe Vera wax as my skin is sensitive. She told me about the aloe Vera and thought it was nice of her to acknowledge my sensitive skin. She was really nice and took her time. After the wax she threaded my ingrowns. She was awesome. I ended up purchasing a package which contains 3 Brazilian waxes for $90 which i think was a really good deal. I also got my eyebrows tinted and the girl that took care of me did an amazing job. She shaped them perfectly (perfect eyebrow tinting is so hard to find). I will definitely be coming here more. Ladies, this is a go to! read more

I want to share my story so others know to be careful. I came here as a treat to myself on my birthday. My eyebrows are thick and I love them! I asked the woman here to clean them up a bit and help even them out. Well, she decided to take it upon herself to not only make them much thinner than when I started, but made them two entirely different shapes. Not to mention she did not apologize when the first brow was done and I said it looked too thin (I should have left then, but I thought she would at least try to make my brows the same she told me "your eyebrows need shape" well I guess she meant two obtuse and non matching angels! So not only do I have to feel like garbage at my birthday party this weekend, but at the wedding I am going to the following week. The company called to give me a refund and offer 5 more eyebrow services (excuse me I will not be coming back because I cannot trust another soul with my eyebrows again) after ONLY ON THE PHONE DO THEY TWLL ME THE WOMAN DOING MY BROWS WAS IN TRAINING! She did them unsupervised, without consulting anyone around her. And she didn't listen to me or my issues during the entire process. They were kind and apologized and asked if someone could fix them (I'm pretty sure there is no solution to messed up eyebrows that you can do at a threading and waxing salon except if you want to give me hair plugs) so while I'm happy they weren't mean, they shouldn't have not warned me they were putting a trainee on me who had no supervision. And now my confidence is absolutely shot for my birthday, wedding I'm a guest at, and a vacation to Hawaii I have. Bought castor oil and expensive growth serum to fix this mess. Hibba provided eyebrow threading services for a Yelp Elite event and it was the perfect start for my brows. Not only have I not had my eyebrows done in years, but I have never had my eyebrows threaded before so I was a bit nervous. Yes, it does hurt a bit but the process is quick (less than 2 minutes) and the results are worth it! My eyebrows were cleaned up and looked great afterward. She found HIBBA, we went there for threading and they both didn't disappoint! It was my first time doing threading and I was nervous about the pain. I've only done waxing. Been going here for years, back when Neelam was my girl and they still had a midtown location. Have been going to Rajni last few times and been happy but she's on vacation so booked an appointment with Jassi. I had to reschedule so they rebooked me and I assumed it was also with Jassi because the receptionist didn't mention otherwise. I showed up, got my brows threaded and unfortunately hated them. When I went to pay, it turns out my appointment was with Yash, and since I'd never met Jassi or Yash before I didn't know in the chair. Anyways, I was pretty disappointed- my fault for not confirming when I rescheduled? But also I feel like they need to tell the client when they switch up the person. I will say Yash was sweet and probably great for others but just not for me. I felt like the attention to detail wasn't there and I know how my brows can look and these are not it. Won't be going back until Rajni returns. But mainly I think reception needs to be more clear when they are rebooking clients to let them know if their new appointment is not with their original person. read more

I've been meaning to come back here and write an update but I kept forgetting. I just had to write an update. After my wonderful review, my wax started to grow back just a week later! WTH? I also noticed that there were MANY strays left behind. I must have been happy that it wasnt as painful as expected that I wrote such a wonderful review the first time around. I asked my friend if it was normal for it to grow back to fast and she said nope. Only when it is shaved it grows back that fast. Then it all made sense to me why it didnt hurt as much as people say. Rami must have shaved me down in most parts which would explain why it didnt hurt so bad and also explain why it grew back to darn fast. Very disappointed! I was only here a few hours ago, but I need to sing Hibba's praises now. I only get my eyebrows done sporadically--typically I just tweeze to maintain the shape afterwards as opposed to making regular trips. BUT, after finally getting my eyebrows threaded after years of waxing, I've been convinced that this is a worthwhile investment. Not much room for commentary here, because everything was so damn efficient. First off, it's a lovely little oasis in the heart of Soho, which can be overwhelming if you're not there with an agenda (at least for me). The ladies at the desk are accommodating and sweet--they don't try to rush you in and out before you have time to even think about whether or not you're satisfied with the service. If there's such a thing as a "threading powerhouse", ii would be Hibba. This woman is completely deserving of these rave reviews. She's incredibly quick, which was a bit frightening as a first-timer. She's certainly not prioritizing speed at the expense of thoroughness--I think she's just that good. Whether I'm convinced or brainwashed at this point, I don't think I'll be going back to waxing unless I have a traumatizing experience here. Hibba noticed that my eyebrows seemed a bit too trimmed down, and told me it was pretty clear that this was due to waxing. I had no idea! She then gave me a little lesson in what appropriate brow maintenance looks like, which I've never had. So I got a bit of education out of this experience too. A couple general notes: -You can buy packages, which shaves (no hair pun intended) a ton off your price per session. I opted for the 5 package options since I'm a newb, but they offer larger bundles as well. -They also having full body waxing, if that's your thing. They recommend threading for any facial hair, but if you want a side of bikini wax with your eyebrow threading (this is a restaurant review site, after all), it's an option. -You can book appointments online--just be aware that if you cancel within 24 hours of your appointment, you'll be charged (they ask for a credit card to have on file as part of the booking process). read more

Wow, the service is WONDERFUL. This place is right across the street from the Prince st. Chobani store. I was pretty confused at first, but yes it is upstairs and they have to buzz you upstairs. Convenient location, honestly. You can shop all day, then get lunch and your wax in Soho. You are greeted by a lady at the desk. She'll take your name, then offer you water and candy. It's amazing that your first full bikini wax is only $28. Absolutely worth it. They also have plenty of packages that you can buy online. You can also make an appointment online, which is extra convenient, given that you definitely need an appointment for a wax. These ladies are busy! This place is a true gem. Neelam did my bikini wax and she was fantastic! She's so sweet! I definitely recommend her. The place is cozy and clean. No double dipping for sure! Everything is done fast but properly. This place was recommended to me and based on the reviews (thanks yelp fam) I was super excited for my visit. The receptionist was great but immediately I felt like I was inconveniencing the person who was suppose to do my brows. She was on the phone when I came in so my appointment must have interrupted her. I was looking on my phone trying to find my eyebrow reference picture (yes it is THAT serious) and I felt rushed to sit in the chair and so I did (big mistake). I don't typically pay more than $7 to get my brows done but last time I paid $15 I was amazed and sold! Unfortunately my old place is gone and I've been looking for a new one ever sense. I only gave up on the search for my reference pic because I figured if this place is loved by over 250 yelpers, I can't go wrong. WRONG. Unfortunately I did not get any of the highly praised threaders mentioned in other reviews. My threader let me leave with uneven brows and did them in less time than the cheaper places. I did not experience the care and attention that most yelpers rave about. My threader let me leave with what I KNOW she saw was uneven brows and made no attempt do to anything. (Like others, I also did not have Hibba herself.) I had a livingsocial.com deal which was $25 for Brazilian and Eyebrow Threading. The Brazilian was all I really cared because I have very thin eyebrows to begin with so there isn't really any room for shaping. The technician I had for the brazilian was great though! She was quick and painless. She was also very nice because it was my first time getting a brazilian wax or any wax down there! So I was a bit nervous. The room was very calming because there were pillows and the decor was very relaxing and soothing. My only complaint and I've seen this complaint on a couple of other places was that there were quite a few stray hairs... I'd say about 15 that I had to painfully tweeze myself at home. Also that the hair started growing back after a week. I had another brazilian at another place, also from livingsocial.com, and the hair started growing back after 2.5 weeks and even after 4 weeks, the hair is fairly light. However, I must say that I did not feel too much of a burn or irritation after. The wax was much more soothing. I only wish they tweezed those hairs that were left behind while my pores were still open from the hot wax because tweezing it by myself at home was painful especially for 15 hairs! I enjoyed the atmosphere but $55 for a wax is a bit pricey. I later found other areas around the village for $25-29 for a brazilian. read more
