So when I looked up waxing services on Yelp and noticed that Uni K was nearby, with great reviews and online booking I was locked in! First of all, it was so happy to see that they had some same day appointment availability! Why that may not always be the case, some booking systems will still only show starting next day. I also loved that their menu had a lot of options, including more than one type of Brazilian to book. When I showed up to my appointment, I checked in and filled out some basic, new client information. I was then taken to my room with my waxer promptly after. They use hard wax here which many people prefer, but for me hurts the most. But I don't really care what is used as long as they're hygienic, quick, effective and will not spawn in-grown hairs. My waxer was quick, thorough and one week out...things are still looking good! As a bonus, first time clients got a significant discount which made me even happier about my experience. While my experience before check out was already excellent, that was just icing on the cake. Overall, I left very impressed and will definitely return again in the future!

It was during this visit that I REALLY learned why it is important to stick to what you know.    I got three services: a chocolate bikini wax, eyebrow threading and upper lip wax. The only one that went right was the upper lip wax.    Eyebrow threading - I woke up with little scabs underneath one of the brows. This has never happened to me before. I don't have a lot of eyebrow, let's get that clear, but I do know they could have been shaped better. Other places I've been too may take an extra minute or two to make sure the shape is perfect. This was super quick and you can tell.    Bikini Wax - I get this type of wax all the time, I've got a wax lady and god do I regret cheating on her. The lady literally left me bleeding. I have NEVER bled before. And she had the audacity to tell me that my skin is sensitive and that this is normal. Maybe it is, but I have definitely never bled before. Like... what the hell?! The wax wasn't even super clean so I had to go back in a day or two later to fix it up a little.    Safe to say I will not be going back and I genuinely couldn't even try to pretend to recommend it. I have to give her credit for keeping my skin young, and her facial and scalp massages are truly the best - SO worth it every time. They allow you to text back and forth appointments, keeping things convenient and personalized. Since they moved to a different floor in the building, it's only gotten better. They are currently undergoing renovations, moved to a different room number, and are changing the name of the establishment. Same excellent service - Same excellent products. I went for the anti-aging rejuvenation facial, which is considered a basic facial due to the fact that they offer some upgrade facials for a higher price. I was offered a package of three facials, the higher priced upgrade versions for $300 which would be a savings of over $75-$150 I declined at the time, but I do have to say that my skin felt amazing that day and the next day too. very, very impressed by the facial I received

I usually leave a medium sized triangle; the size and shape are obvious because the hair growth is different. Lately I've been booking with Arisa (who does a GREAT job) but there were a couple of times, I have needed an appointment on a day she wasn't there. I have booked with two different people several months apart and both times, they left almost nothing. I was clear in my instructions and the second one even confirmed that she could see the borders from the last time. They were both very nice and apologetic, but realistically, they can't do anything to fix it and I just have to wait for it to grow back. It's frustrating to pay for a monthly wax package and only feel comfortable with one person. Maybe other locations are better, but I'm hesitant to try anyone else because I've only been disappointed.

It was a last minute decision to come after getting a few text messages about 15 percent off service. The SoHo location is closer to me. It's on the fourth floor of an office building so not as stand alone and not as nice as the midtown office. Without an appointment I was able to get my wax within seconds of arrival. The front desk woman was really friendly. There were other ppl there getting their eyebrows threaded. The sugar wax went ok. It just wasn't as great as the service as my first time at the midtown East location. It was obviously asymmetric so I had to ask for it to be fixed. So seemed a little less thoughtful/careful than my first time.
