Saw an ad on Facebook and TikTok promoting this place and since it was in long beach my family and I figured what the heck . The promo mentioned receiving a $10 gift card with purchase. After our order arrived that was about $80 there was no mention of a gift card. So I asked them about it. The staff said yes you get one $10 gift card for every $40 Spent on your order. I said ok I just spent $80 so do I get two gift cards. They said you get it by logging on you Facebook and click the offer. I did as he said right in front of him and it sent me to fb chat. I sent my inquiry for the gift cards and even sent my copy of my receipt and got nothing in response. After about 20 minutes wasted trying to get a contact number to the corporate office because these young kids on the staff really seemed to have no intention to help us we just left. Apparently they don't want people to return. Now for the food review. The fries were your average French fries with very little salt. Popcorn chicken was more Popcorn batter with little to no chicken in it. The beef combo pho for the most part was ok...not great. The beef was tender so I give them that. The pho broth needs more seasoning to be just right. My son had the chicken pho and said it was good. The decor inside and vibe was like cold and dark like some Starbucks I've been in. When I'm in the area, I'm a regular here haha. I love their jasmine milk tea with boba! In August 2024, I was so sad to find out that they don't offer banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) anymore, which were my go-to. They do still have pho (soup), which is really good. I also love that they have free wi-fi and plenty of seating. I can bring my laptop and get some work done before heading to my next destination. This location is in a busy area so there are many customers, but it never gets super crowded. This place has a super chill vibe. I've visited Hiccups a few times now and they never disappoint. This location is in a corner of a small shopping center with a few parking spots right out front, it's easy to get to. I've had their filet mignon and brisket pho, garlic noodles with shaken beef, popcorn chicken and fries and beef manh mi. To drink, I've had their coconut coffee, mocha latte smoothie, taro milk tea and taro boba. All so good!!!! Along with their delicious food, their customer service is outstanding, always accommodating, will always take the time to explain things, and is always a pleasure to order with them. I Love their garlic noodles! I got the veggie garlic noodles and my little one got the shrimp garlic noodles. For the price, it's a large portion of noodles and the veggies and shrimp are proportional. You might have to dig to the bottom to find the rest of the shroomies and broccoli (or shrimps) :-) but it's there! So good! It's like fine. It's quite expensive for what it is. I got 2 large drinks and a popcorn chicken for almost $30, which is a little insane. Thai tea was good, standard, but definitely not worth the $6 that it cost, especially since I didn't even get boba. I also got the Ube Coffee, which was just an average Vietnamese Coffee with a little too much coconut flavor. Popcorn chicken was delicious. They keep the spice seasoning on the side for you to adjust your own spice level, and it comes with a saide sauce of sweet and sour or ranch. Really great if you're getting the BOGO deals on UberEats. They have decent coffee for the price (again, BOGO), but their full-priced items are probably better? They have a main location in Long Beach and a smaller drive-through coffee shop in Garden Grove. I've gotten the house coffee w/ sea salt cream and the ube coffee - house coffee with sea salt is better IMO, try to knock it down to half sweet if you can. Garlic noodles with less oil gives a HUGE portion, but still quite overwhelming in flavor (can't have too much at a time). Popcorn chicken is pretty good; think they use chicken thigh, so darker meat leaves it juicier. This place is super convenient! Most of the boba / Vietnamese coffee places I go to don't open until 10- 11 AM. This place opens early in the morning. So whenever I get up I can head here for my coffee instead of having to wait for my usual go to places to open. I came in last night for dinner and tea after a nightmare at another restaurant. We ordered a taro milk tea and a pad see ew. Our bill was pricier than normal boba, food was average priced. The food was delicious, fresh, and hot. Would order again! The taro milk tea was definitely from powder but generally they all are. All the employees in Hiccups were nice, polite, and efficient. The music is modern and not too loud. Parking is easy and there are tons of spots. I enjoyed it so much I came back this morning for a strawberry twist tea. I didn't expect the jellies to fill almost a quarter of the cup - I actually would've preferred no jellies and wish I was asked if I wanted the jellies or not (I think it's my fault though I might've overlooked it on the menu). I wanted a quick snack Sunday afternoon, so I stopped by Hiccups. That was a huge mistake. I walked in and there were a few people sitting inside and a family in front of me. They ordered and then I placed my order which was the fried crispy tofu. I sat down at a table and watched people come and go. A lady that was there before me got her order so I knew mine should be ready soon. The family in front got there's as well so I for sure knew mine was next up. I then noticed that people who showed up way after me were getting their orders. At this point it's been 29 minutes. Where on earth is my tofu? I checked in with the gal working and she said that she would check on my order. 1 minute later she brings it. I immediately knew something was wrong so I opened up the bag to check my order. The crispy tofu that I ordered was luke warm at best, and super soggy. I think she may have forgotten my order. She offered to get me a new order but I didn't want to waste more time. The tofu should have taken no more than 12 minutes to make, even if they were slammed. I was pretty upset at this point, but I didn't take it out on her. I just asked for my money back, which she said will update on my end in 3 to 5 business days. She was super nice. I felt really bad because she was by herself the entire time. I think that there should be more than 1 person making drinks and taking orders on a Sunday. Even if there were some call offs (probably because they celebrated too hard for the Dodgers World Series win), they should have gotten someone to help her. My fiancé and I had a GREAT time here! We were totally obsessed with the sandwiches - the croissant was so flaky and butter while you can REALLY taste the BBQ part of the Banh Mi.
