Saw an ad on Facebook and TikTok promoting this place and since it was in long beach my family and I figured what the heck . The promo mentioned receiving a $10 gift card with purchase. After our order arrived that was about $80 there was no mention of a gift card. So I asked them about it. The staff said yes you get one $10 gift card for every $40 Spent on your order. I said ok I just spent $80 so do I get two gift cards. They said you get it by logging on you Facebook and click the offer. I did as he said right in front of him and it sent me to fb chat. I sent my inquiry for the gift cards and even sent my copy of my receipt and got nothing in response. After about 20 minutes wasted trying to get a contact number to the corporate office because these young kids on the staff really seemed to have no intention to help us we just left. Apparently they don't want people to return. Now for the food review. The fries were your average French fries with very little salt. Popcorn chicken was more Popcorn batter with little to no chicken in it. The beef combo pho for the most part was ok...not great. The beef was tender so I give them that. The pho broth needs more seasoning to be just right. My son had the chicken pho and said it was good. The decor inside and vibe was like cold and dark like some Starbucks I've been in. I could've sworn I wrote a review for this place. After all, this is one of our favorite places for boba and popcorn chicken! Yes, their popcorn chicken is better than Cha for Tea! Crispy, filling and so delicious! We get them a la carte. We've tried the shrimp fried rice and it's so yummy too! My son loves the Cookies and cream smoothie with boba! I love the Taro smoothie, the Vietnamese Coffee, the Thai Milk Tea, the Jasmine milk tea and the Ube coffee! Mmm! It's a Must-try! When I'm in the area, I'm a regular here haha. I love their jasmine milk tea with boba! In August 2024, I was so sad to find out that they don't offer banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) anymore, which were my go-to. They do still have pho (soup), which is really good. I also love that they have free wi-fi and plenty of seating. I can bring my laptop and get some work done before heading to my next destination. This location is in a busy area so there are many customers, but it never gets super crowded. This place has a super chill vibe. I've visited Hiccups a few times now and they never disappoint. This location is in a corner of a small shopping center with a few parking spots right out front, it's easy to get to. I've had their filet mignon and brisket pho, garlic noodles with shaken beef, popcorn chicken and fries and beef manh mi. To drink, I've had their coconut coffee, mocha latte smoothie, taro milk tea and taro boba. All so good!!!! Along with their delicious food, their customer service is outstanding, always accommodating, will always take the time to explain things, and is always a pleasure to order with them. For the price, it's a large portion of noodles and the veggies and shrimp are proportional. It's like fine. It's quite expensive for what it is. I got 2 large drinks and a popcorn chicken for almost $30, which is a little insane. Thai tea was good, standard, but definitely not worth the $6 that it cost, especially since I didn't even get boba. I also got the Ube Coffee, which was just an average Vietnamese Coffee with a little too much coconut flavor. Popcorn chicken was delicious. They keep the spice seasoning on the side for you to adjust your own spice level, and it comes with a saide sauce of sweet and sour or ranch. Really great if you're getting the BOGO deals on UberEats. They have decent coffee for the price (again, BOGO), but their full-priced items are probably better? They have a main location in Long Beach and a smaller drive-through coffee shop in Garden Grove. I've gotten the house coffee w/ sea salt cream and the ube coffee - house coffee with sea salt is better IMO, try to knock it down to half sweet if you can. Garlic noodles with less oil gives a HUGE portion, but still quite overwhelming in flavor (can't have too much at a time). Popcorn chicken is pretty good; think they use chicken thigh, so darker meat leaves it juicier. Great deal if you get the BOGO (like I just stated before...), but otherwise could find better. read more

A lady that was there before me got her order so I knew mine should be ready soon. The family in front got there's as well so I for sure knew mine was next up. I then noticed that people who showed up way after me were getting their orders. At this point it's been 29 minutes. Where on earth is my tofu? I checked in with the gal working and she said that she would check on my order. 1 minute later she brings it. I immediately knew something was wrong so I opened up the bag to check my order. The crispy tofu that I ordered was luke warm at best, and super soggy. I think she may have forgotten my order. She offered to get me a new order but I didn't want to waste more time. The tofu should have taken no more than 12 minutes to make, even if they were slammed. I was pretty upset at this point, but I didn't take it out on her. I just asked for my money back, which she said will update on my end in 3 to 5 business days. She was super nice. I felt really bad because she was by herself the entire time. I think that there should be more than 1 person making drinks and taking orders on a Sunday. Even if there were some call offs (probably because they celebrated too hard for the Dodgers World Series win), they should have gotten someone to help her. This place is super convenient! Most of the boba / Vietnamese coffee places I go to don't open until 10- 11 AM. This place opens early in the morning. So whenever I get up I can head here for my coffee instead of having to wait for my usual go to places to open. This place is really clean, the people are extremely friendly and it's a private parking lot. So you don't have to worry about street parking. Awesome place! Friendly staff. My favorite items are the Coconut Coffee (1/2 sweet), the macadamia coffee (1/2 sweet), the Thai Tea and the Pork Banh Mi. I love all their coffees, but with the milk and the sweetener options, it can be a bit to sweet for me. The 1/2 sweet is the perfect middle ground for me. Last time I came here was with my beautiful sister Tina while she was battling cancer. She left a 5 star review here and we were so impressed and excited for the opening of hiccups. We met the owner who was beyond kind and left such a great impression. We didn't come back because my sister couldn't eat anymore and had a tube in her stomach. I've been here with my mom in Long Beach since her passing and decided to come by. First off, very unimpressed by the lack of customer service. No greeting. No smile, nothing. This is by the Caucasian girl that looked miserable. Then the Asian girl came up and the same. What stood out before was the great energy those working had. 2nd..I had a coupon for the Vietnamese coffee but it was too sweet for my liking so I ordered the sea salt coffee..I paid for a large but got the regular..no big deal but they had no customers..it's ok. It was a mistake. I asked for slightly lighter ice because I hate watered down coffee. When I got my drink first I noticed they don't have sealed tops like most boba places. So how are you supposed to mix the sea salt foam? It was just messy because it was spilling out of the straw opening. I took a sip and noticed it was watered down and not a cube in there. I mentioned it's very watered down from what I remember. She said there's 4 shots of espresso. She was making the large one I paid for at this point so it didn't matter because the regular was going in the trash anyways. I did not realize they use hot espresso to the ice or I would have gotten the full cup of ice since lighter ice will water it down. I asked her if they use hot espresso. The answer was yes. Upon ordering, I really would have appreciated her mentioning that when I asked for light ice. Typically other places used cold espresso. Regardless, it did taste sour to me..I could barely even hear the Asian girl when she spoke. Just not a good experience and I won't be back. My two stars is that they kept the place clean! If I could suggest anything it would be for the owner to focus on hiring people who could at the least say Hello, and have good communication so customers could have a better understanding of the menu who are not regulars.
