Honestly, cafes/coffee shops should pride themselves when they have nice staff because you don't come across it often anymore! I came in last night for dinner and tea after a nightmare at another restaurant. We ordered a taro milk tea and a pad see ew. Our bill was pricier than normal boba, food was average priced. The food was delicious, fresh, and hot. Would order again! The taro milk tea was definitely from powder but generally they all are. All the employees in Hiccups were nice, polite, and efficient. The music is modern and not too loud. Parking is easy and there are tons of spots. I enjoyed it so much I came back this morning for a strawberry twist tea. I didn't expect the jellies to fill almost a quarter of the cup - I actually would've preferred no jellies and wish I was asked if I wanted the jellies or not (I think it's my fault though I might've overlooked it on the menu). My fiancé and I had a GREAT time here! We were totally obsessed with the sandwiches - the croissant was so flaky and butter while you can REALLY taste the BBQ part of the Banh Mi. We love that it's a cute, cozy cafe to do work while enjoying a good meal. We got our food hot after about 5-10 min of waiting. We can't wait to come back and try some of their noodle options. I had this before but decided to try it again and glad I did. I had the Coconut Coffee last time and wasn't happy with it so I decided to get the Macadamia coffee and the employee helped me out and said I should get one less espresso shot and more milk because I told her I like my coffee creamy and sweet. It was the perfect blend and very pleasant to drink. I also had the chicken banh mi and something about their baguette was slightly different from the usual ones I've had. We are pretty addicted to this place. Their Thai tea is the best I've had around - they get it right each and every time! The bhan mi sandwich is also to die for: always fresh, bus perfectly toasted, meat warm & juicy. I would put slightly more veggies (carrots, cucumber, celantro), but it is still pretty perfect. Since the sandwiches are not huge, I am always tempted to get another one, so stay strong! The new location is always clean & tidy, never too crowded, and customer services friendly and effecient. This place is absolutely amazing. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by the best staff. I informed the cashier that it's my first time here and if there are any recommendations she may have. She quickly made her favorite recommendations, which I ordered of course. Vietnamese Coffee tastes just like the ones' you can get in Westminster. Strong (just like how it's supposed to be), sweet, and not too watered down. Trust me, you can feel the caffeine hit you after a few minutes. Which for us workaholics is a good thing. I ordered the Combination Pho, which I must say has to be one of the best I've had. The broth is rich in flavor and comes piping hot, loaded with different combinations of meat. If you're Vietnamese, you know when mom makes you a warm bowl of Pho at home? Chars the onion and spices, then boils the broth for hours? That's how the Pho at Hiccups tastes. Just like mom and grandma's cooking. Ambiance, decor, and cleanliness are a 20/10. The staff keep busy even during downtime, which as a restauranteur myself, I love to see. There were two FOH staff during the time I visited, and they both were cleaning, tidying up behind the counter, and overall just keeping themselves occupied. If you're a local in the area, or you're visiting Long Beach, I highly recommend stopping by Hiccups. I do believe Hiccups locations are franchised. I love the decor and the vibe. There's a cute Boba Milktea crochet on their shelves. You have to come to this location just to say, "hi". :-D So, they have lots of options for drinks and my go-to Taro Milk Tea is perfect for me. Sweet & delicious with a slight floral flavor that just works. Their Horchata Milktea is a dessert drink and just exactly what The Huz wanted. Matcha is great too. Looking forward to trying their Vietnamese coffee soon and I'm confident it will be fabulous too...I mean they already have a perfect track record with us. I love this newly opened chic boba/vietnamese coffee shop. They sold their drinks based on 4 categories: coffee, blended, milk tea, and fruit tea. They really simplified their menu and provided picture of each drinks so you know what to expect. The owner was actually there during my visit and he enthusiastically explained his recommendations and how it took him years to perfect some of his caffeinated drinks. It was always a pleasure to know that the owner of this shop is passionate about his crafts. As a huge fan of caffeinated drinks, I decided to try their Macadamia Coffee because that's the only dairy free option from their caffeinated drinks category. The coffee was strong and smooth with a hint of macadamia nut. I also ordered the Matcha Milk tea, which was sooo good and rich in flavor. The last drink we got was the Strawberry Twist, which was very fruity, fresh, and perfect for a hot day. If i have to pick my fave among those 3drinks, i personally liked the Macadamia Coffee the best!! Parking is plenty in front of the store. House coffee: this was my favorite! It was a mix of a vietnamese coffee with a creamy sweet foam on top. Mango mango with boba: the boba is perfectly chewy and the tea is really refreshing. On the sweeter side so I'd recommend asking for adjustments if you're not into really sweet drinks Taro milk tea: you can definitely taste the real taro root which they make fresh and blend with coconut milk. There is real taro and a mix or taro powder, giving it a rich taro flavor. It is also on the sweeter side so adjust accordingly. Definitely check them if you're looking for delicious coffees or for refreshing boba or smoothies. I'd highly recommend their house coffees! read more

the first time I had this delivered via postmates, it was so good. i had to pay arm and a leg for two entrées but it was worth it. huge portion for the garlic noodles with beef with big chunks of beef. the fried rice with shrimp was straightforward but not that interesting. still good. i just didn't love it. but this second time, it was a different experience.. we didn't get as much as noodles or beef compared to my first time getting food here. smaller beef chunks. the flavor was good but i remember it being better fried rice with veggies was a bit soggy and also tasted like artificial butter. i wonder what kind of oil and other things they use but it did not taste like regular canola oil. i don't like artificial flavorings in food so i noticed it right away. pad see ew had a lot of meat and it was good. not as good as plenty of thai food that's good in lb tho but okay! i really hope to have that good experience i had, the first time around. sorry for the lack of pics! read more

I heard that Hiccups Barista opened a new location so I knew I had to stop on by! My review is long overdue as I first went last year around this time. Their food and drinks are delicious. I'm getting closer to trying all of their drinks. So far I've had their Sea Salt Coffee, Taro Smoothie and Strawberry Smoothie. I've had their Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng (Pork Bánh Mì) several times since they've opened. All the drinks I've had are delicious, can't pick a favorite, just depends on my mood and what I'm craving. I like that all of their drinks are not overly sweet, the perfect Asian compliment, iykyk. The coffee is strong, not watered down, just how I like it. I am quite sensitive to caffeine so I can't have all of it in one sitting but boy is it good and the sea salt foam really adds to the coffee. Both the smoothies have strong taro and strawberry flavor, which I love. Their bánh mì always slaps. For a coffee shop, I was shocked at how good they make it. It has the perfect bread to vegetable to meat ratio. The bánh mì (baguette) has a crisp crust and soft, airy texture, perfect. The thịt nướng is perfectly seasoned. The bánh mì is a good size for one person. While everything I've tried is delicious, I wouldn't go out of my way to come here as it doesn't blow my mind but would stop by if I'm around. It's located in a shopping plaza. There is a free parking lot, no issues finding parking. There are plenty of tables inside to sit, eat/drink and maybe even study. Service is friendly. The inside is casual but very cutely decorated and modern. I'd say prices for drinks are fair considering inflation. The price for bánh mì is a bit high in comparison to bánh mì spots. In my opinion, it's smaller here too, but the upside is that it's quick, convenient and good. My favorite bánh mì comes with giờ cha (deli meat), they don't have that option here but I wish they did. Went to this location earlier this week and had the worst customer service experience from Angelica! She is rude, chastised Diego and the other young man who was working that day and had a nasty attitude. My wife wanted soup and looked at the reviews to try their pho! Everything we ordered was delicious, hot and flavorful. However, what lacked flavor was the customer service experience! Diego was very helpful when we placed our order. He's knowledgeable and answered all of our questions before ordering. When I placed the order, before closing out I added one last item and paid for everything in full on the same receipt. When the order was brought out, I checked everything and realized we were missing our wings, which was the last thing ordered on the same ticket. When asked about the wings, Angelica said everything is in the bag without even knowing or looking at what I had in front of me. Diego comes over, sees it's only two containers and goes to the back. Angelica demanded to see the ticket, I said I declined getting a receipt but you should be able to look up the order. She comes back and says since you added the wings late your order will take longer, so we need an additional 6 and you'll just have to wait for them to be done because we can't serve undercooked chicken with a nasty attitude. Then, she proceeds to chastise Diego and the other young man about why the food was brought out of it wasn't ready and asked Diego when was the chicken wings added and tried to blame us for the order being delayed. Just an overall negative vibe and encounter from Angelica as no apology was provided! Now Diego did apologize for what happened when we received our order and said he hoped to see us again! Angelica seems to be a bully because she has power as a possible manager, but we were disgusted by it. I specifically said "less ice" not no ice so why is the top part of the drink gone? Lol it says on the app if you order "no ice" the coffee will be 3/4 of the cup which is understandable.
