This is my favorite boba place. But some of the cashiers can be rude, but there's a lot more nice ones. One of my favorite appetizers there are Popcorn Chicken, and one of my favorite dishes are the Garlic Noodles. The popcorn chicken has different spice levels, mild and spicy. my bf and i had came here for a bday lunch for him and it was both of our first times here. we heard about the hype and seen pics all over social media so we said, "why not?" hopped on the freeway and when we got here we noticed some construction going on everywhere in carson and esp where hiccups is located. parking lot is very small and i feel like once this area gets popular they are gonna have some issues. atmosphere/ordering: we got there 10 mins after they opened and the whole back of the sitting area was full of middle school and maybe high school freshmeat lookin' kids everywhere. they were so loud and so was the music!!! so both of those shits combined..goood lawwrdd! now it might be my inner old lady coming out but girrrllll....i felt like i was in a vegas club. they def need to lower down the music and just like the previous reviwers had suggested. its too overwhelming walking into some crazy ass old music blasting at you once you open the doors. its hard when youre trying to hear yourself think while eating and have a convo with your friends/bf/gf/family. we didnt know how to order at first b/c it look like you can sit down or you order in the front. my bf asked, so you order in the front 1st & after that they give you a number w/ your receipt and you seat yourself. we sat in the bench booth bc like i said all these damn kids everywhere. the funny thing was neither of them had food to eat or drink! they were just chillin' and hanging around screaming at each other. so hell no was i gonna seat there and to my luck this little family and their 3hundred kids decides to sit next to us and their kids started kicking my bench..so of course, since ppl dont know how to take of their own kids.. let alone in public..i gave them the stare and they stopped. like the hell? i deal with that shit in the movie theatre and these booths are so close to each other! you'll will be bound to get some shoe kicking in your ass. the food: anyways! we ordered two chamoy drinks, shared a order of popcorn chicken, i got the filet mignon pho and my bf got the shaken beef with garlic noodles. now my bf loved his dish and mannn did they added the fresh ass garlic in his plate bc later i deal with it lol. the pho is def toooooo SALTY! i can tell since i am thai that they added a lottttttt of fish sauce into this pho. like whyyyy son??? now if this supposed to mimic a viet. pho tai then it was executed poorly or pho in general. the broth is supposed to be oily and with a hearty feel kind of broth. this was too damn salty. i didnt even finish it because it was too salty and they are very stingy on the sauce. they give one small cup of siracha sauce like mannnn, if u wanna do pho right u gotta bring the bottles out! (not to mention their small like guppy shot glass plastic cups they give you for water. -_-)my bf enjoyed the chamoy drink and i felt honestly a lil dissapointed. esp since the hype was around these things alone. i felt it was just whatever to be honest, its worth trying but not enough for me to say its my fave. its def appealing to the eye though. the popcorn chicken was the best prt and sad part was that it was a apetitzer lol. Overall the meal was $42!! it was so expensive for what it was but i mean thats hipster, asian fusion food for you. end of the result: overall this place totally reminds me of guppies in cerritos just closer to home. i would probably come here again and give them another chance..maybe. I finally came here for the first time and I absolutely LOVED this place! I get it why most people didn't like it because of the music and how loud it was, but to me, it was awesome! This place is good! Very tasty! I tried the matcha green tea, Garlic noodles with shaken beef, shaken beef and rice, tasted some of my daughters chicken ( I don't eat chicken at all but it was good!) And tasted the BBQ pork (super delicious). I love all the flavors added to the dishes...and the thickly chopped bell peppers and onions and cilantro..Its just an overall tasty meal and I didn't full super full when I left although the serving sizes are big. Went to eat a late lunch at hiccups. The place was half full. I ordered a couple of appetizers and 3 drinks. We ordered spicy food and received our food before our drinks. We nearly ate all our food and I asked where our drinks were at? The waiter finally brought our drinks. I ordered an green tea ice tea, I drink green tea a lot . Hiccups green tea tasted like dish washing soap smells. I asked the waiter to replace it he did but with a huge attitude.In closing the food was over priced and the service was terrible, for the price I could have gone to a better place for a cheaper price. Hiccups is a terrible place to eat and the service was terrible. My friends and I went to Hiccups ..It was approximately 9:25 Pm to be exact. One person.was at the register. The line was pretty long by the time my husband placed his order it was 9:48. My friend was behind him. He proceed to walk up to the register to place his order. The young lady told him "sorry our kitchen is closed we are not taking any more orders". The problem I have with this is my friend and I was in line for approximately 20 minutes.. There was three people behind us. If you was going to stop taking orders at a certain time you should have stopped us at the door. All they had to say was sorry it's 9:30 the kitchen is closed. Are they should have opened up another register to take everybody's order before the kitchen closes..No they allowed us to wait in line for 20 minutes then told us the kitchen is closed. This is unacceptable . I never complain about anything . But this time I felt the need to .Every time I go to hiccups the line is long. The people behind us was very upset also. My cousins and I are regular customers here. We had an incident where we ordered four drinks and unfortunately, when we got home, we accidentally dropped all the drinks :( so we came back hoping we could get something considering the fact that we did not even drink any of them. The manager was kind enough to give us 50% off of what we paid for because of the incident. I saw this Place on Instagram and have been dying to go here for quite a few months now. Last night was my first opportunity to drive there from Inglewood. As soon as we saw the little restaurant we thought it was so cute and super excited that the Churros place was next door. We walked in and the place was super small but scored on 2 seats at the bar area. When it was time to order the kid at the register told me that the items I was ordering were no longer on the menu. I asked him why they were still Up there listed as available items and he told me he didn't know. I have to add this kid didn't offer any suggestions even after I told him it was my first time there. At the end I ordered just rice because that's all they really have there and some stinky ass wings that smelled like the bottom of an empty trashcan which I ended up telling him I did not want to pay for and wanted my money back. The only thing that was pretty awesome there was my Thai tea. My review is based on items not being available, customer service which sucks because the guy could care less and no managers visible. Garlic Noodles w/ Veggies is my go to, with a Pink Flamingo !! Can't go wrong with this order. I've ordered in a few times, but this particular time I encountered Andy the Manager & He was absolutely superb! I didn't have to ask for anything or get his attention he was always one step ahead -constantly checking in on me! I decided to change up my drink order and tried the Mango Mango tea, but for my particular taste buds, I wasn't a fan. I did try to enjoy the drink but after a few taste test I decided Mango Mango was not for me! So the next time Andy checked in on me, I asked if I could change my drink to Pink Flamingo and of course Andy was all for it but what I appreciated the most was that he asked- in which ways could the tea be better? He asked was it to sweet & what about the taste I didn't like so he could fix it! But we concluded that it just wasn't my cup of tea ! Horrible. I can't believe the nerve of the people that work here. Rude and unaccommodating is the only word that can come to mind. I get there and one of the ladies that work there acknowledged me right away. That was awesome. Then they said that it will be another 10 minutes for my drinks. I don't understand. If I order online that supposed to cut down on the wait. There were people that ordered after me that were getting food. When I get the drinks I ask the guy why I had to wait. He said "well if you want watered down drinks" I was shocked. He said if I wanted it all together I should have specified. I told him there should have been something online that said that if you order drinks they make it upon arrival. No. He had to be rude. He just kept telling me I should have specified. There was no where online that said that I had to be!!!! I told him while I was waiting my food is getting cold. He shrugged his shoulders. At that point I knew it was useless talking to him and I left. While I was waiting I noticed all kinds of things that were gross and annoying. Waiting for my drinks I saw all the females hard at work while all the males were just standing around joking. Not helping. I witnessed one of the girls do her hair go to the register ring someone up and then touch food. Not once washing her hands. I have never had this kind of service ANYWHERE!!!! I normally don't like to write reviews, but what happened to me today is the worst. I went to this Hiccups location on 06/10/2017 close to 12pm and order four drinks along with chicken pad thai and shrimp pad see ew. Everything seemed fine when got my orders and left the place. However; I wish, I'd check the foods first before I left the place. When I got home, I found excessively amount of chili pepper flakes inside or next to the chicken pad thai. I found that a bit odd for that type of dish. My sister volunteered to take the chicken pad thai back due to I was too tired at the time. I gave her the receipts. After my sister got back, she explained to me what happened. She told them politely that were too much chili pepper flakes inside the chicken pad thai and requested a remake. She also told them she never heard about chicken pad thai having that excessive amount of chili pepper flakes and that condiments should have been set aside separately in another little container/cup for those who do not like to use them. She told me again the employees, including the manager got really defensive and insisted pad thai dishes always have chili pepper flakes in them. But, then again, there was no need to put that far amount of chili pepper flakes in a pad thai dish. My sister did get them to remake the chicken pad thai and brought it home of course. But, I had to inspect the food. It looked soggy and also smelled weird. We were afraid to eat it and had to throw it away. This has never happened to me or my sister before. Truly disappointed with my last visit. My significant other and I have eaten here a few times because we enjoy their drinks. Boba is decent, but nothing special compared to other places nearby in LB. The food is honestly not good and overpriced. On this visit, I switched it up by ordering a salad that was disgusting. Literally straight up water lettuce for about $6 or $7 with most likely store bought honey mustard sauce. Also they forgot we ordered the salad and I had to wait an extra 20 min after telling them that they did not bring the entree. I'm also positive they microwave their popcorn chicken which my significant other ordered. My advice is to stick to the drinks and avoid eating there. Or you might have to waste an hour of your life waiting for a salad while listening to blasting edm music. Customer service bad, food bad, and taste in music mediocre. I really want to like this place but the service sucks. First off the parking lot is terrible it's packed on the street and the lot in the back. The lines take forever too. There was only about 3 people in front of us and it took about 10 minutes. I placed my order and I was waiting for a table. The lady said she had my food ready but I didn't have a table so she was going to wait. Then I see one of the workers splitting up a table and I thought it was going to be for a customer but NOPE!! One of the employees sat there and had her 3 course meal. REALLY?! Do they not have a break room? Or at least sit outside!!! I was so annoyed! There was also a table that was being taken up by people studying. This is not Starbucks! This is a restaurant, hopefully management can take care of that better. Finally a table opened up and we sat down. My teriyaki chicken had a weird taste so I didn't eat it. I had a chamoy mango and it was delicious!! It took them about 20 minutes to bring out my drink tho. Maybe they need better training? Overall I wouldn't come back but I probably will for a drink. Came to Hiccups for the first time and I was happy until the combo fried rice that was purchased had shrimp that smelled and tasted like fish. We asked for the manager and a kid comes out we tell him that the shrimp smells and taste fishy and we didn't want the food he then asked what could he do to make it right so we ordered different dishes, but then he comes back saying that we could only order a rice dish. We then asked why we couldn't order what ever we wanted since the shrimp was bad and he said he couldn't we had to get rice. Why would I want another rice dish when they probably took the plates in the back and took the shrimp out so we informed the manager that we didn't want any of the food and we wanted a refund and he stated that he couldn't refund the money. After going back and forth for over thirty minutes and finding out that he wasn't the manager that Karen finally refunded part of the money. Good food but NOT a place to relax and chat with your friend while you have dinner!!! At first we thought it was kind that a few servers were approaching us, asking if we were okay. But then it got to a point where we had like 10 different servers asking if we were okay EVERY 2 MINUTES! We literally had a server ask if we were okay 2 seconds after someone else did! It came from a (passive aggressive) place of annoyance like they wanted to kick us out. There wasn't even a line of people waiting to sit but we were probably there for 1.5 hours. To top it off when we finally asked for a to-go box, one of the servers made a RUDE/SARCASTIC remark saying, "Naw you guys took too long." Who says that to a customer?!?! Funny because you pay tip beforehand which I wish I could take back!! Hiccups, if length of stay and your customers trying to relax is really THAT much of an issue for you, please kindly say so with a disclosure sign saying 1-2hr limit etc. Manager was kind to apologize though over the phone. Have been to the Carson location many times since it oppened for drinks only but today I decided to Ordered food for first time.... I saw a plate of garlic noodles with beef that a family member bought. I bought a plate but was not informed that they have 2 different types of plates since the menus doesn't state that. When I got home and saw that there was no vegetables just plain noodles and pale almost white beef. I called the store and was told about the 2 different plates the guy apologized and said that I should have been informed of the 2 different plates and told me that next time I order to make sure I ask for the difference of the 2 plates. I guess that's the way they resolved this issue make sure I ask next time and quick apology.... Hhmmmm would of thought he would of asked me to take the plate back and fix it since he said I should of been informed by the person that took my order. What a waste of $$$ just went to the trash.
