Humm! I don't know if this a place I would not recommend this place. I found that the açaí was very bland, with little to no flavor. Not to mention I found a hair or maybe a string, I can't really tell but I saved it. Now let's talk about that disgusting cutting board they use to cut up the fruit! Before I noticed the cutting board, my bowl was almost complete and once I noticed the "disgusting cutting board!" As I watched the associate continue to complete. my bowl something in me, wanted to tell him to STOP! I don't want it! But I decided to continue, hoping and praying that they disinfected and sanitize the knife and the cutting board! This just reminded me that cooking and preparing your own food at home is probably the most safest way to stay free of contamination and lack of cleanness. TL;DR - dragon bowl has a pitaya base that tasted with a hint of plastic (maybe it was from my spoon), topped with strawberries, banana, granola, coconut flakes, and chia seeds. There were pros and cons to this thing for sure and a lot of the feedback came from my family member. I otherwise wouldn't have minded it, but noticed it more and more after these comments lol. The base of this bowl is pitaya which had an slightly odd taste that was reminded me of plastic... maybe it was my spoon. The ice cream had a strong split of ice crystals and concentrated sweet pitaya. It didn't bother me initially until I had more of it, and felt the two components didn't blend very well together. Hubby and I have been on an Açaí bowl binge lately and was searching for a place that would be open past 9pm. Pur Bowls caught our attention by default simply because they're open until 1am. We pulled up to the building and found that they have a lot of customers at 9pm. I usually can't finish acai bowls on my own, so usually I ask to split a large in 2 cups even if I have to pay extra, but this place does not split the order. The base of the tropical bowl did not taste tropical at all. It kind of tasted like toothpaste. The fruits were really good and fresh though. I like how the toppings were unlimited. The bowl came with mango and pineapple, but I was able to add strawberries and blueberries. It also had granola, toasted coconut and I asked to drizzle it with agave. They base their prices on the size bowl you order (12, 16 or 24 oz), not what you add to your bowl. So it's a flat rate. I like that. I got the Superfood Bowi with acai and mango base, but they have a wide selection to choose from. Both were good, but the mango was my favorite. They also have lots of toppings (fruits, chia pudding, nuts, cocoa nibs, and all kinds of superfoods). I topped mine off with granola, peanut butter and bananas. Sounds like an odd combo, but it was delicious. I really enjoyed my bowl and will definitely come back again. They're also open REALLY late.
