Ordered some takeout from here on a busy Saturday afternoon, and boy was I disappointed. I should've known that a "fusion" Thai / Chinese / Vietnamese / Bubble Tea place could not possibly live up to the hype. We ordered some Fried Rice (didn't have Spicy Fried rice or Spicy Kraprow, what kind of Thai place is this) - and the Fried Rice was average, albeit mild and flavorless. The Pho we ordered was small in quantity and the milk teas were good, but very sweet, even though we had ordered with less sugar. Overall, not a bad place if you haven't been exposed to the better options all throughout Southern California. Stick to the churros next door! :) read more

Was so happy to order the wings but to be told they haven't had ranch for 4 days and no one has taken the time to write a review about this place not having ranch but I will because i am currently waiting on my order. Great place! Lines can be on the long side from what I've been told, so I ordered delivery and it came waaay before the expected time. I really like the ease of their menu, with pictures of everything on it. I got the standard milk tea boba, that is always a crowdpleaser and also ordered Lemon peppered wings with garlic fries. I love this place for a quite bite and some boba to spark my meal. The prices are pretty well within range and I love chicken wings, especially when they are fried and seasoned well. The fried texture was perfect, but the seasoning I ordered (lemon pepper) was kinda lacking, but that might have been a delivery thing. This place is a pretty trendy spot. Very clean and modern. Good vibes, upbeat music, young employees, all "techy" with their cash registers (e-receipts, touch pads to add in signatures and tip, etc.), free Wi-Fi, order online option and so on. Plenty of parking in the back and if you're lucky, you'll find spots open in the back. I ordered the Kimchi Pork Belly Fried Rice. Not bad if you like kimchi. They were a bit shy with the pork belly though. And it could have used a bit more spice...but then again, I like all my food spicy. IDK if they have sauces like chili that you can ask for and put on your dish...I guess I should have asked. My friend got the Garlic Chicken Noodles and that dish was DELICIOUS!!! I liked it a lot more than my rice dish. Lucky for me, we shared our 2 dishes. But I'm totally ordering that next time. For drinks, I order the coffee float, which is pretty much Vietnamese coffee with sea salt on top. I've had the reg Viet coffee and it was a little too sweet for me (I don't ever drink my coffees sweet). But having the sea salt added to it helped it from tasting super sweet. I liked the combo of sweet and salt. Lastly, I ordered to-go popcorn chicken (extra spicy) for my co-worker. She let me try some and they were good! And the extra spicy was indeed spicy! Review on the shaken beef garlic noodles takeout order. Noodles too soggy, sauce too sweet, asked for medium but got well done beef. Not enough beef for the price. The beef was not uniformly cut, a couple big chunks, mostly small tiny pieces, and there was a whole onion chopped up in it, maybe try putting little more red and green bell peppers and less onions. The picture of the onions is after I ate half of the onions. So if you want soggy noodles, lots of onions, sweet sauce and don't mind paying $16.64 for it plus $2 tip this is where you can do just that. read more

Came on a lovely Sunday evening, right before busy dinner hours (5pm). The place was packed! I'm guessing they are always busy, but the wait wasn't too bad. Place is modern and with the hip hop music, definitely tailors towards a younger generation. Seems to be located in the base floor of a multi-level apartment complex. I ordered a thai iced tea. It was the perfect amount of sweetness. The quality of the drinks here are really good. For entrees, I ordered the barbecue pork with rice. This traditional Vietnamese entree was on point! I especially enjoyed the marinated meat, was savory and sweet. It also came with a side of fish sauce, which I felt was an unnecessary but pleasant addition. The dishes here were beautiful! Well, the food or should i say noodles are honestly not as good as I was hoping. (Pictures can be deceiving) The chicken wasn't fresh, I could tell it was old. The noodles had good texture, flavor was okay. Chow mein with extra garlic almost. My fries were so disappointing. They looked and smelled so good, but were hard as a rock, stale and hollow inside. I LITERALLY ate 3 fries and threw the entire cup away. So, a waste of 3 dollars, but whatever. Thai tea was bomb. Refreshing and not too sweet at all and the boba was soft and chewy. For your boba choices in the area, this one is solid. I like Hiccups because they offer almond milk in their Thai tea in place of half/half. The rest of their drinks have nondairy creamer. I'm partial to the alternative milk option because what even is in nondairy creamer? The Thai tea isn't overly sweet. Their boba is decent. No complaints about the boba. 50 cent upcharge for boba. 35 cent upcharge for almond milk. Their food is overpriced, even at the lunch special prices. I was excited to see a new tea house open up near my work. I looked through the menu debating what I should get. I finally decided on getting the popcorn chicken w/ rice lunch special. It comes with a salad and a regular mango green tea. The salad came plain as the dressing was missing and I had to ask for it. The popcorn chicken had a lot of batter which made it very crunchy and on top of that it didn't have a hint of spice even when I ordered medium spicy...maybe very spicy would do the trick? The mango green tea was average...I would've chosen something like a passion fruit green tea but I didn't want to change the drink for an extra charge. Giving 1 star from my previous 5 star review. Ordered a large hot matcha once and got a small one but couldn't go back because they were closing. Next time I ordered, I got some soup for dine in but they packed it. Waited more than 30minutes for it only to realize they put it for take out when the receipt clearly says dine in. I told one of the guys that I've been waiting for a while and said I think my order was packed for take out and he said "what do you want me to do? Put in on a plate?" Idk man, kindness goes a long way and that just set me off on my already tiresome week. I just took my food and sat down. Soft opening Friday April 15th!! Finally lol. HICCUPS . If you haven't heard of hiccups and their affordable food and drinks, then you're missing out. They also have another location in long beach (same owner). So this location is located along Carson street and right next to crawfish corner. There is parking along Carson street or in the lot once you make a right into via verde. You walk in and the interior decor is super cute. They do have public restrooms and it's to the right of where you order. Ok so once you walk in the place you are greeted by all the staff. The music is loud but ok lol. The menus are against the wall and with really small print lol. They have daily specials/lunch specials from 10am to 3pm. Which are 8.95$. The drinks are pretty good. The pho bowls are huge. For being a soft opening, the food and the drinks came of quick! I came around 215ish and the wait for the food and the drinks were less than 10 minutes. The iced drinks have two size: small or large. The hot drinks only have one size. I've had their other dishes at the other location and they are all pretty good. Check into fivestar and accumulate points to get free food or drinks! Cool place and good location. read more
