Located across the street from the Navy Marine Golf Course, Moanalua Shopping Center is a long piece of property with several buildings on it. For example, McDonald's is a stand-alone building... so is Panda Express. Moanalua Shopping Center has big-name businesses such as Ruby Tuesday, Starbucks, Taco Bell, Jack In The Box, Baskin-Robbins, and Jamba. Smaller businesses include Koa Pancake House, Timmy T's Gourmet Grinders Sandwich Shop, Tex 808 BBQ + Brews, Pigtails & Crewcuts: Haircuts for Kids, Forever Nails, and Ramen Ya. There are several businesses I frequent in this center and the Center company works hard to…read moremaintain it in the problematic area it's in. Most of the businesses are small restaurants with the largest business being the AlohaGreen Medical Marijuana Dispensary and the adjoining Hemptuary specializing in CBD and Hemp products. The only drawback to this center is the homeless issue which I really try not to worry about. The restaurants chase them out when they barge in with no intention of making a purchase and if they do make a purchase only allowing a single person in. I've only been approached once in the recent past by a man crying because he was hungry saying he had a ticket to fly home to Atlanta that evening but no money for food. Always a sucker for a sob story I gave him cash and watched while he walked into the Chinese restaurant and gratefully not the liquor store. There's always plenty of parking for all the restaurants, designated parking for the Aloha Green dispensary, and handicapped parking for those who need it. Access is from Nimitz Highway or from Koapaka. Clean, well maintained and easy access making for quick in and out lunch or dinner.

The con is that it's very very dated along with many of the businesses as well the bathroom I hear is quite the adventure that I'll pass but with little to no vacancy it does serves it's community the use it needed I do find myself stopping at Long's and Safeway for various reasons and with that I do love the various selections they have here that does save me time which is enough for me. The monorail has been out of service for so long it makes getting around difficult. Basically the whole idea went down hill. Elevator and escalators are always out of service making it difficult for seniors and disabled people to gain access. A law suit should be addressed for NOT being ADA compliant. In certain area maintenance of debris and leaves and yard waste does not get picked up often enough. Parking lot strips are so faded the markings are hard to see. Lights are not working and visible in some areas. Management needs to be more active and walking the grounds instead of being in the office all day long. Security needs to be out and about roaming and visible more often. Not just watching a camera.

Rarely do I venture outside the "Honolulu" district (Hawaii Kai to Salt Lake is my radius ring) unless a special occasion calls for it. I blame gas prices but really, it's laziness. What brought me out to the 96707 was a new store that popped up just a hop away. Plus I've heard great things about KMA. So why not kill two birds with one stone? I love the array of shops and restaurants! Kapolei in general is bustling with so many shopping centers, you can make a day out of it! I grabbed a shirt from Spencer's, fashion jewelry at Lovisa, and even checked out the movies that day. Will check this place out again with my husband and young boys. There's a bubble play area and a big grassy lawn for active kids. Part two to be continued!

If you're interested in looking to DEALAGES, just head on down to the Westside (in the Waipahu area) because the Waikele Premium Outlet stores is there! There are so many stores here, so when you do visit the Waikele Premium Outlet, hopefully you'll find a store that will appeal for you. As for me, a few of my favorite stores I like to visit is - the Lowe's hardware store, Reyn Spooner, & the Van's shoe store. Beside shopping, the outlet mall also has restaurants, a small food court, & numerous food trucks in the parking lot so finding something yummy to eat shouldn't be too hard. Parking here is a breeze, as the outlet mall has ample parking. If you don't have a car, I noticed a lot of tourist would catch a shuttle to this outlet mall. My bestie lived in Ewa Beach which I've frequented for over twenty years and driving down you see several little shopping centers but nothing like Laulani Village Shopping Center. I remember when it started to break ground seeing "Safeway coming soon" sign and was definitely excited for the community and my bestie for more options though I was just clueless of what other plans they really had for this area. Adulting along with distance I wasn't around for the final unveiling and really had no idea until a visit with my bestie one day as she was my New Years resolution..."to put our happiness first and see her more" and we had our pedi here, can't remember the place but clearly remember the fun and smiles we had following with Starbucks of course...oh how I miss those days. She's now my angel but I do visit here when I can as there so much to do, shop and get things done the most recent was for her celebration of life and as I created a collage in honor of her life we need a place to get it printed...Yelped a bunch of places but it was 8pm and nothing was available so I drove in Laulani to rethink and...POOF! Walgreens!!! Staff there was amazing and we got it done in minutes and saved our day, so much memories and great wonderful business here including City Mill, Jolene's, Ross and many many services as well. Low on gas Safeway Fuel Station is a must as you get a discount for paying in cash many times no different from Costco. Thank you for the memories and happy moments!

Today I went to Safeway, Jolene's and Ahi & Vegetable. I liked all three locations better than the ones in town. It wasn't as crowded and I liked the open space. I also saw T-Moblie, Ross, Walgreens, City Mill and American Savings Bank in the shopping center.

Well it's more of the old school type of mall with a single strip going down a straight line with various biz mostly foodies type are found here but you'll read it's the parking and yes I agree as many of us would rather find the one that's closest to the biz of your choice it's seriously the luck of the moment. Though parking at the very next lane is no different really from the first as it's just a few steps but what really gets me is that it seems like the sun just beams straight down to this area as it's blazing hot which is why it's not my favor spot the does have a slight shade from the building itself but everyone else bakes if you're here for a long period of time. We came for some tea and talked but didn't stay very long and the bathroom situation is pretty much non existent as well. Thanks!
