My wife and I are visiting from North Central Illinois and found this hidden gem. We shared a sausage and pepperoni pizza and broasted chicken with French fries, it was amazing. This is a homey country tavern with great service and super good food. We started with a really nice salad with a mix of fresh greens instead of the typical iceberg lettuce. We ordered the half chicken, which was broasted to perfection! Hot and fresh and moist inside with a lovely crispy batter on the outside. Maybe the best broasted chicken we've ever had. Rustic brick building is super cute and we'd passed by it for years wondering. We finally stopped this last week to a full place. Both parking lots were near full. We debated about going in but decided to do it afterall. The bar was full, with diners and drinkers. The restaurant was packed at 5:30pm on a Wednesday. We stood by a sign saying to wait here to be seated. The bartender was taking meal tickets then saw us. He sat us soon after in an adjoining room that was also full. Seating was alright around large communal style tables. There's a shelf under the table that dug into my partners leg. I ordered a taco salad, salsa (unbeknownst to me was $1.50 extra) and my partner got a 4 piece chicken. We split everything. It was all good. The taps on the bar are lacking and there isn't much of a game room. There's a couple games in each room but there isn't much space to play them. There's a game room sight out front so I thought maybe they had pool or foose. They don't. They make broasted chicken. It was good. But not the best ever. our family has been going to this restaurant all the way back to when it was Tagge's. we went to Tagges and stage Road for one reason. Pizza! since it has changed hands the pizza is terrible. why mess with success. too much cheese and a different sauce. I have heard this from many of the folks that have been going to Stage Road for years. go back to the old recipe. read more

The stage Coach Inn... It is located a short drive from Sturgeon Bay, but I have to say ... On that drive you passed many places worth stoping at... The food meets the calorific requirement of food... That's about it. We had an app and shared a Pizza, it appears that everything was frozen. They offers wine and by that I mean they only had one wine and it was red! I felt like I was in an old time western where you walk in and you order a beer and they say we have whisky. You can get Whisky or Whisky... With that said, they were packed on a random Wednesday, they clearly have a strong local crowd. It was a little odd that you could only order in the bar. I will not be back. It's not "bad" but not worth the drive. read more
