A broken sprinkler made a puddle. What can you do? The other owner was so nice and even sent me home with an extra towel she had.

I'm not local, but because of a terrible company I hired for a bathroom remodel that SEVEN MONTHS LATER is still only studs and insulation, over had to spend a ton of time and money traveling back and forth from Washington State. I only use the park for my dog, but it has been a life saver. Seriously. There are two huge off-leash fenced areas (usually one used for big dogs and one for small dogs). What a privilege to have some grass to run on. People are considerate. Many have become friends of mine and we meet up at the same time. Most of the time the dogs are friendly and well-socialized, but once in awhile you're bound to run into some trouble. I prefer peace and just walk away with my pup. Angry people can rarely be rational (which might explain the dog's behavior ) The dog areas are also super well-lit and seems very safe in the evenings, even when you're alone.

One of the best parks to go with children! A variety of ages can play at it and it has a splash pad. Lots of areas with shade. Swing sets. There is a dog park at the bottom of the hill. Overall, gorgeous area! Well-kept.

Trees are tagged outside of dog park.

Couldn't find the hidden falls! Haha! Anyways, this a smaller neighborhood park with a busy small and large dog park, skate park, basketball court and restroom. The restroom was clean but did have those shiny metal toilets. Lots of parking Its a short 5 min hike up to the lookout. There is a thrown out couch way up there and a tent. Never went near to those. It doesn't look like an official route, but there is clearly a trail.

I came here today to go hiking. I went on the two simplest trails up the hill. They were not very difficult to handle. The views from the top of the hills were breathtaking. It was a truly unique experience to see Henderson and beyond from a new perspective. The mountains in the background provide a heavenly backdrop. Don't touch the electric equipment. There is a dog park here and some fields for activities. Plenty of parking spaces. I think there was a skate park here.

I love this hike and i love that its just a 22 minute walk from the house. Rarely anyone there so it's a quiet hike with bunnies, flying insects, beautifully colored rocks. Nice mix of incline, steep and rocky declines, and flat ground. I get a decent workout and I'm outdoors. Hope those fancy schmancy homes they built close by don't bring an entitled crowd that works to remove the trail. It's probably unfounded but not uncommon for people to move to an area with an established airport, park, community center, etc, then realize they don't like it and work to remove what was there before.

This is a beautiful park for a hike or just to walk around and enjoy the views. Lots of grassy area, playground equipment and desert nature. Sunrise and sunset provide great light for some photos. Check out Amaragosa Trial while you're there. Lots of sporting amenities, too.

This park is nestled back in the corner away from busy streets and traffic. It's perfectly manicured and offers a playground, and obstacle course, a splash pad, swings, plenty of picnic tables, an open grass area. Further down the road are basketball courts and a skate park. There were people walking their dogs and a path that loops around the park. My son loved the different play areas and easily ran around between the two. The splash pad was pretty mediocre; just water holes. No additional toys or fixtures. Bathrooms were a little unkept but the expectation for public parts is to expect that. We will definitely be back again!

I love this parks landscape on the rolling hillside with the mountain as the backdrop. It is nestled at the foot of Black Mountain right behind the strip mall where Vons is located. Family and dog friendly, there is something for everyone. As you enter from Horizon Dr. you have a lighted basketball court and skate park. Hang a left turn you'll drive along and pass the fenced in dog park and the 2 playgrounds one for toddlers and the other for ages 5-12. The kids have some cool playground equipment. The structure that's designed to look like a rock climbing wall would be my favorite if I was a kid and the splash pads too! Park benches and picnic areas are scattered throughout. There's large grassy field in the center. The path winds up all the way to the top where you have the trailhead that has shaded picnic tables and the entry path to Amargosa Trail. There is also another small bike/ hiking path that snakes up to small overlook that has a fantastic view of the city. I like catching the sunrise and sunset from here. This area also is a popular place to hike in the afternoon, you'll have to alternate sides on the path for people coming and going up and down the hill. It's not a problem though since everyone is courteous and considerate. Since the mountains are set up high against the park you get shade here early in the afternoon also. There is adequate parking spaces but it's pretty tight in some areas. Drive extra slowly because sometimes you share the road with the hikers, cyclists and joggers and have the random kid that chases after their ball. This place is the perfect neighborhood park! It's no wonder why Henderson is known for it's award winning parks.

What a treasure to have this amazing park so close. Located behind the Von's shopping center, it doesn't seem like much. When you drive up you see the basketball court and part of the dog park. But drive up a little more and there is lush greenery, picnic areas, playgrounds, water pad, hiking trails, large open grassy areas to run around in. You can go up the quick switch back trail that gives you a beautiful view of the park and Henderson or you can choose to be adventurous and take the Amargosa hiking Trail for a more rigorous hike. Be sure to wear sneakers or hiking shoes as the rocks can be a little slippery. Great place to have a BBQ picnic or enjoy the day. One of Henderson's best!

Nice big dog run nestled against the foothills

Thanks to another Yelper I had to try this park. Very easy to find, located off of the 95, in a nice neighborhood. From the first parking lot I spot the dog park and a skate park. The dog runs were large, but dry, not much grass. Not much shade either. There are some trees but they aren't big enough to provide much shade. Lots of seats available to the humans. Poo bags provided. The unfortunate aspect is the water fountain is outside of the fenced area, how inconvenient. It was daytime when I was there but by the sight of the lights, I think it'll be hard to see much at night. Not many dogs around while we were there but the ones we met were really nice. We ventured up the street past the park and up to the last parking lot to check out the trails. We spotted some kid play areas along the way. It's nice having some hiking trails (Amargosa) so close to the dog park. Tire out the pooch a bit so he doesn't pull his leash as much! I wil definitely visit this park again and explore the trails a bit more.

My absolute favorite park I've found in Henderson thanks to yelp! We used to go to the skate park all the time, didn't realize there was more to the park.So awesome & never busy. The rattlesnake signs up the mountain where the hiking area is kinda scared me with my kids ... But hey , we live in the desert. Just don't wear flip flops if planning to hike! My kids are 8 & 11 so they think a lot of playgrounds are too babyish , luckily this one has an area for younger kids & the older kids area is really cool. I Tell them to pretend play "Ninja Warrior" :) Overall , very cool spot!

Small dog park which is very good size.

The splash pad here is one of the largest splash pad at Henderson parks. It is spread out to give kids plenty of space to splash and play. It has a variety of features too. The splash pad is conveniently located next to a set of bathrooms and changing stalls. One of my favorite things about this park is all the green grass out in open spaces. I love having all the open space to let my toddler safely run. A lot of people bring blankets and hang out or have a picnic. The playground is good for about three years and up. A lot of the climbing features would be too big for really little ones. There are also two big slides in the side of a hill. There aren't any swings at this playground. There is a large covered pavilion area in between the playground and splash pad. It's large enough to be rented out for two different parties. We attended a toddler birthday party here and it was a nice space for that. The city should put up signs that the pavilions are paid rentals though. My friend arrived to find a party happening in the area she rented. The other party didn't know rentals were to be arranged through the city. She felt bad and gave up some of her rental space because she didn't want to ruin a kid's birthday party. Another cool thing about Mission Hills is the shaved ice truck that has a permanent spot when it's hot out. How perfect to be able to grab shaved ice when playing in the heat.
