One of the best pizza places we have tried in a while - it was overall just really good. The place is huge with lots of seating and even an area towards the back that can host a larger group with TVs. Lots of beer (by the pitcher) options and I believe they had a full bar as well. We ordered the Combo Appetizer Plate to share that included hot wings, garlic bread, mozzarella sticks, potato skins and onion rings. Everything was cooked well and I was a big fan of the potato skins with the real bacon bits on top. We ordered the half Garlic Parmesan Chicken, half All Meat Pizza and all the ingredients looked and tasted fresh. My daughter loved her plain cheese pizza and ate almost the entire thing. Our friends who we were with, raved about the Philly Cheesesteak so I had to try it. It was once of the best Philly Cheesesteaks I have had. Cooked perfectly, seasoned well and had the right ratio of meat to bread - ah, the bread was super soft as well. I would order this sandwich every single time. The only thing I did not care for, was the Macaroni Salad that was ordered on the side instead of fries - it was too sweet for my liking, but I ate it nonetheless. My only other con was the guy working the counter with the tattoos...he wasn't the nicest and even seemed a bit annoyed at one point! If it weren't for the food, I would probably have given 4 stars because of this guy's attitude. Cheer up! This isn't about the food. The pizza is good. I was put onto this place many years ago and have gone ever since. Matter fact, it was a sad day when the sports plex closed their location, as we knew good pizza wouldn't be sold anymore there. Recently I went to this location, and yes our party had some fun. It happens. I paid for a pitcher of 805. The person that rang me out said I can get it later. Ok cool. I forgot to get the pitcher later. I went back literally the next day to talk to someone. Of course you have to talk to someone that has to talk to someone that has to talk to someone. She said she would give me a call after she goes through the receipts. Fine no problem until a phone call wasnt made. You cannot, again you cannot tell me they don't have a way of figuring out if someone is lying about an order. And I was in my work clothes, which you can see from long distance. Again just a message of a bad customer service day. For the most part the service is good. This, not good at all. Now question is does the establishment actually truly care? Remains to be seen but I will be shocked. read more

Would never had tried this pizza place if my sister hadn't suggested it. Wow I was really blown away with these tasty pies. My husband and I ordered the Thai pizza and my sister and nephew the vegetarian with salami added. So delicious. It was 5:00 and already the place was jumping. Also, there were tables outside. The staff was friendly but we had to order and wait on ourselves. Would have liked more personal attention but we understand that it would have pushed up the prices some. High Five Pizza is now one of my favorite pizza spots back in the bay. I tried the All American pizza which is basically a combination pizza and it was to die for. The pizza was cooked perfectly and I love how it was loaded with all the toppings. The Philly Cheese Steaks were amazing too. It was loaded with lots of meat and cheese. I can even rave about their fries. Something about them was different than your typical fries that makes you want to keep eating it. The hot wings were also good too. It had a nice kick to it. Overall, I was glad my friend recommended getting High Five Pizza for dinner. I can't wait to tell my friends/family about it so they can try it! read more

I grew up eating at this place. Whenever we came to visit family, this was the go to spot. The inside is pretty cozy and they have all of the sports games airing playing on the TV's. The staff here is usually super friendly, at one point one of the workers new my father by first name. The pizza here is always tasty. I love the BBQ chicken or the Hawaiian. The hot wings here are also pretty good as well as the garlic bread. They also do a BBQ night once a week or something and it's pretty good. If I'm ever back in the area I try to drop by and pick up a pizza and some wings for the family. read more

I am definitely a huge fan of High Five Pizza. Currently, it's my go to pizza place ever since their branch location in the Silver Creek Sportsplex closed. I'm a big fan of the BBQ Wednesdays where they have special BBQ offerings too. Also, I love all of the various options to order - you can order in person, online, and by phone call so there are tons of ways to get your food. My personal recommendation is to get the seasoned fries! (make sure you explicitly mention "seasoned" though) Atmosphere: 4/5 This is a local place, with wood booths and just normal pizza place tables. Nothing special about the area - there is also outdoor seating if you'd like it! Lots of TVs playing sports all of the time and there is also a bar if you're into that. Service: 5/5 If you know what you want, then the service is great. You order at the counter and then find a place to sit. It's mostly self serve since they call your name and you just grab your food, but they have people picking up your plates and pitchers at the table so you don't have to clean up after yourself. Food: 5/5 I think their pizza is consistently a banger time and time again. The appetizers can be a hit or miss, as well as the BBQ. Some highlights include their extremely juicy chicken on BBQ Wednesdays, the seasoned fries, and their pepperoni pizza. You can also try out the signature pizzas which charge at the 4 topping pizza price even though it might have more than 4 toppings. Overall, this is one of my favorite local San Jose pizza places to be. Getting a mini pepperoni pizza and a glass of beer is a classic combo, and I hope they will have excellent business for years to come. read more

I was excited to try this place due to the reviews but was let down. I went to High Five Pizza on Friday with my in-laws and husband and unfortunately everything was just meh. When we walked in it, wasn't busy yet, there was a few tables with people but not anything crazy. As it was our first time there we did not really know how to order and the woman working the register was not friendly, she was very serious and looked annoyed to be there. She just told us the menus were at the table and to come back when we have decided our order. After some time looking and getting ready to place our order, we customized our two pizzas and she looked bothered that we were doing that instead of simply ordering the pizzas as they were. My husband and I remained kind throughout this uncomfortable encounter and simply waited for our food. The pizzas are nothing crazy. Simply a pizza. We also ordered tater tots and those were actually very good. They were more on the bland side but the crunch was perfect. We also got a Caesar salad that was pretty good as well. The ambiance was overstimulating due to how loud it is in the establishment. However, it is a sports bar and loud sounds and loud TV's are to be expected. I don't think I would come back here. It was a good experience to try this place out however after our trip here combined with everything I don't think it's worth coming back. read more

It's been way too long! Today one of my former coworkers who is a pizza lover like me, wanted to have lunch and catch up on things, since we hadn't seen each other since late 2019. I chose High Five Pizza because it's close to me, and not far from him, so we met up around 1:30 pm. It was not very busy with few people inside when I arrived and was able to park in a handicap spot not too far from the door. There is a large parking area on the Snell side along the businesses near High Five which include a Wing Stop, a Sushi place, a martial arts studio, a hair salon, and others. Around the corner facing Branham are more stores including a Safeway, and there is a Mc Donald's near the intersection of Branham and Snell. A very nice patron got up from his seat near the bar to open the door for me, a great gesture as I was struggling to open it while wheeling my rollator. I went to the first table in the rear section, my favorite spot where I can see the car memorabilia (Dale Earnhardt etc.) on the wall, and watch one of the multiple large flatscreen TVs. The one in front of me and many others in that area of the restaurant were tuned to the Masters Golf Tournament, and I was able to watch Tiger until play was halted due to the trees that fell after the storms. Other TVs near the front seating area had major league baseball playing (I think it was Kansas City). No one was sitting outside since it was overcast most of the time, and in the low 50s, but there is a TV and several tables out in front which would normally be filled. My former coworker arrived around 1:30 and I explained how it works: you go to the counter and order and pay, and get your beverage of choice a little further down near the wraparound bar (we weren't consuming alcohol but there is a wide variety available). He chose a small pizza with just mushrooms and pepperoni. I wanted more toppings, and here's what I asked for: green pesto sauce instead of the usual red sauce, double cheese, double chopped garlic, double mushrooms, green and red onions, tomatoes, garlic Italian seasoning. I do love garlic and this did not disappoint! I also wanted the one-trip salad bar, and this time it had many fewer items than the last time I was there, but I did fill a small bowl with my choices (some of the same as on my pizza), and their Thousand Island dressing tasted like it was freshly made in house. I'll definitely be back for more of that! Later a very nice woman came to our table and I asked for a box for the other half of my small pizza, which she brought out with a smile. Everyone who works there is very kind, friendly, and treats everyone with respect and helpfulness. Just before our food was ready for pickup at the counter by my coworker, Myles, the owner of High Five, came over to our table to chat with us for a minute. Every time I have been there (mostly on Saturdays), he has gone around to all the tables to talk to the people dining there. Today he was on crutches after knee surgery, which took place several weeks ago, so I'm sure he's almost ready to ditch those crutches. When I was leaving and reached the entrance, a man leaped up to hold the door for me and my rollator. I asked him if he worked there and he said he didn't, but I asked him for his first name so I could thank him if he or anyone at High Five reads this review. Thank you, Emilio, for your kindness! Myles and High Five do a lot of catering, including everything for the San Jose Sharks hockey team, and I'm sure if you are putting on a big or small event, he would be the person to contact. I know that's what I would do! I'll definitely be back again soon - it's so convenient to my house, it is my go-to pizza place of choice. They also have sandwiches, appetizers and many more items I haven't tried yet. It won't be beer in my case, but perhaps you can check out that aspect of their business. Highly recommended! read more

Stopped in on our way back from Napa because we heard it was a Steelers bar. They had a back room where all the Steelers fans were with a number of TVs and the sound on so that was fun to watch the game. Food was ok. I got the garlic parm pizza - found it was a little over onion-ed and the sauce was a little bland, but overall good. If we needed to find a place in that area again to watch the game, I'm sure we'd stop in. read more

if you want solid, consistent pizza, then this is your place! i don't play games with pizza - i like em plain & i want it to hit the spot. this place ALWAYS hit the spot whether the pizza ordered is plain or special (if you're feeling adventurous, i highly recommend the thai pizza as long as you're not allergic to peanuts). their specialty pizzas do not have overpowering flavors - it doesn't question whether or not you're eating pizza or an ethnic dish (anyone else resonate?). aside from pizza, their wings are on point (crispy, juicy). i typically don't prefer buffalo sauce however their flavor composition is perfect to me (not too buffalo-y). their fries are crispy too! sometimes you can't order online, so you'll have to call in. service on the phone & in person has always been a pleasure. they understand, you just want pizza, no drama. inside ambiance reminds me of a staple family restaurant - welcoming & divy. seriously - i am so happy God led us to where we live today, otherwise we wouldn't have found this gem of a pizza place. read more

This review is long overdue as we have been ordering pizza from high 5 for over a decade now and it's just as good as day one. It's located in a smaller strip mall off Branham and parking can be tricky on the weekends but you can always find some after a few minutes. This place is always packed, especially on any game nights since they have a bar area and a ton of TV's. They have a lot of seating and service is always good. I love their pizzas. They are very high quality. My favorite is the garlic Parmesan chicken pizza and we add mushrooms and artichokes to it which I highly recommend. They also have a ton of sandwiches and great sides as well. Their Philly cheesesteak sandwich is amazing and I'd highly recommend it if you're into phillys! Overall, I'd tell anyone looking for a quality pizza at a reasonable price to try high 5 at least once. read more

I would go there again IF I'm in the area. It was excellent. My husband and I were helping a friend with a car purchase nearby. Rainy night. After the day she had, dealing with her original car that died (clutch could not be repaired on her Nissan Versa), and the time at the dealership, our commute mess to get out there from Santa Clara, the weather, and being at the dealership for for several hours for the paperwork on her new replacement car, we really needed a pizza around 8 pm. High Five was perfect. My friends are carnivores when it comes to pizza toppings. Me, maybe not so much. If it's a mushroom onion, that's my go-to. We had a sausage, pepperonis salami pizza. Yes, they wanted meat. I wasn't sure how good it would be. It turned out to be excellent. Garlic bread was wonderful, too. One other thing I liked was finding seating that night. I'm sure High Five is busier on most nights aside from a rainy Thursday night. It's a sports bar. High Five is the epitome of a locals spot. It isn't super fancy by any means but they are sooo good at what they do. The food is fantastic (the catering food too!!).
