the owner that runs this place is pretty nice. he gets really busy, and is often times running the show by himself. if you come and he is busy or hasn't greeted you yet, don't fret. just be patient. i've came here at least 4x and although i'm not a new customer, he still takes a moment before coming to see what i need. with that out of the way, he does really good work and probably has the best prices around. i'm a car guy, so i do a lot of research and take my cars seriously. i've had whole exhaust systems swapped, mufflers switched, resonators removed, and most recently a jpipe installed on my Acura TL. i switch up my cars often, and i often find myself coming here 90% of the time. just make sure to call ahead and see if he is free or can squeeze you in, because the shop is busy and the parking lot is tiny as hell and can get complicated. read more

I brought my two cars in this shop. One for air conditioning repair, and to fix the driver side window control, which took them months to fix. When I got my vehicle back, a/c only worked for a week. Leak was not fix, they just filled it with freon. Driver side window worked but my lock and unlocked button was installed backwards. I dropped off my other vehicle when i picked up my first one, for a/c, window control and also for brakes. The car that i picked up started running sluggish, so I contacted them and had to wait a few more months so I can pick up my 2nd vehicle. Found out that it was broken into because they only park their customers car on street parking. I was not compensated for what was taken and they only changed the mid compartment with a different color than the original. Anyway, I picked it up and dropped off the 1st vehicle, and I was told that it was the transmission, which then they replaced with a rebuilt. Upon picking up my 2nd car the engine light turned on as I was just leaving their shop. I called and i was told that it would turn off eventually. The car run sluggish and smoke was coming out of the exhaust. I was told by one of the mechanics that my car is really ild and i should just get rid of it. This is a car that never gave me a problem and just needed a brake job, a/c and window control work, that turn to alignment job, to the car smoking and now not even drivable. My first car came back, with no a/c still, sluggish running condition, windshield wiper stuck and will not work anymore, from just an a/c job and a window control. I am so sad that I trusted these people. Paid them whatever they told me of the cost of all the "repairs". At the end I ended up with a non working car and a sluggish car without an a/c. Sad part is no other mechanics want to touch them as they said they don't know what kind of damages these mechanics did to my cars and would be harder for them to fix and look for the damages. I do not recommend them at all. They are just sweet talkers and all BS. Unfortunately I had to put 1 star, it should be zero star. read more

I bought a new car end of last year. Finally gave in to the mod bug and began modding it beginning of this year, on my way to stage 3, I needed to have some exhaust components installed. Given my very limited time and lack of access to a lift (and not wanting to do it all on jack stands in the garage), I called a couple of shops in my area. I was given varying prices and was told by one shop that I would need to bring my parts in for him to look at so he could tell me if he even wanted to do it. Then I called Hi-Flow Mufflers. I talked to Pepe and he was completely up front with me. I told him exactly what I wanted, he gave me a flat rate, also the most competitive rate I had been quoted, and told me to bring it in that day. I dropped my car off and he called me when it was done. He even stored the stock exhaust system for me until I could bring my truck to pick it up. No hassle, straight-forward guys running this shop. I was referred by a friend. He and a couple of other guys from some local car clubs told me this was the place to get your work done if you wanted it clean and simple. I rolled in with a new header to install and plans for a completely wider exhaust throughout. They got it done. Also, they are pretty clear on what's street legal and not, so they'll at least advise you so you don't say you didn't know. After confirming the shit job done by the last shop that worked on my car, they made sure to have me test drive briefly right after getting the job done. And if any problem or annoyance happens to present itself a days later, they gladly lift it back up and re-check their work to make sure they can remedy whatever they might have missed; as was the case with a small spacer that started rubbing my exhaust days later at 200k rpm. 20 minutes later, no longer an issue. I found Pepe's shop with a quick Google search for exhaust repairs in the Long Beach area. I was looking for the number to the muffler shop up the street (Gold Coast Muffler) when I ran across the Yelp review for Hi-Flow, which has an excellent rating record... as you can see for yourself. I chose to go with the higher rated. I called and spoke to Pepe and was pretty impressed by his general knowledge and understanding of what I wanted him to do for my truck. He quoted me a very reasonable amount (again, I'm not looking for the cheapest or a great bargain). After speaking to him on the phone, I brought my truck in a few weeks later to have the work done. Hi-Flow's shop shares a small lot with some other shops, so it's cramped in there. They're all pretty busy, so don't expect to pull in with a large vehicle, easily. Advice: leave your car on the street and go speak to whoever you're there to see, first. Pros: Good work, shop owner is present and actually doing the work himself, easy to speak to with a good attitude about what you want done (custom stuff) and pricing is very reasonable. Place is easy to find. Cons: It's a small shop, so expect to have detailed/custom work done over an extended period of time. I say give this shop your business. read more

They installed a turboback exhaust on my old WRX (R.I.P.) and then I had them install a catback exhaust on my Forester. Great service for a reasonable price. Friendly mechanics that let you watch them work on your car is almost ASMR-ish. I can't recommend them enough. I will continue to come here whenever I need work done on my Subaru. I called them Friday evening and was able to get my car in at 8am Saturday. I was impressed that there was no up selling and took the time to discuss my options for fixing my muffler. I have custom tips and they removed them from my old muffler and mounted them on the new one. All and all, a really great experience and a good value. I was in and out in under an hour. Okay ...this is my first time writing a review ...however, this business deserves it ... my dilemma started when someone stoled my Cat Converter off of my 99 Toyota truck I started searching for a muffler shop here on yelp....while a lot of the shops appear to be qualified ...this shop caught my eye. Even though it was a little out of my way geographically. I read the reviews for this shop and a lot of people raved about Pepe and how affordable the repairs are here....so i decided to place a call. I called and spoke to Pepe ...he seemed to be very knowledgeable , truly sincere and nice and on the phone and had a spot for me the next day. When the next day came along ...i had the tow truck driver deliver the vehicle...and Pepe came out and greeted us.... In which he was truly nice and welcoming ....he looked under the truck and offered me two types of mufflers .cheaper ne and a preminum brand.....in which i choose one the more expensive....it took him a few hours to change the muffler so rather than hang around ...i took the metro-rail back home (btw ...it runs down LB blvd) when i went back to shop a few hours ...my problem was solved and my truck was repaired for 300. (i felt like that was a good price for a Magnaflow muffler - the higher end one i choose) I would like to recommend this shop ...i am definitely going to be a repeat customer read more

I just returned home from swapping over my original exhaust with a used aftermarket exhaust system that I bought from a friend. This place was clean and organized which made me feel comfortable right away. More often than not, muffler shops look like a bomb just went off. His price for the labor was extremely fair. Cheapest normally isn't good. I'll pay more for quality work, but their price was actually one of the best I found. I notice their attention to detail when welding the new tips I purchased from them. They spent some time making sure they were perfectly aligned since my car has dual - exhaust. He even painted the piping and the welds and made this used exhaust system I had installed look new. Need to install a cat-back exhaust system that does not exactly fit my 528i E60. Ernesto explained to me that it needed to be modified extensively to fit. Pepe quoted me the price which is about 60% of what the other shop quoted for INSTALL without mods. They also eliminated the clamps by welding all connections. I am very happy with the work and was willing to pay a bit more but Pepe declined to accept. Quality & price puts this shop on top of my list. read more

Had my tundra smogged here and a new muffler put on. Smog took less than 15 minutes and only costed about 39 bucks with a coupon I found thru my phone. Had a flowmaster muffler added to my tundra....they took their time and tested different mufflers to see what sound I would like. Went out of their way. Pepe is the best! I had a problem with my Greddy exhaust when it started making tick sounds from the metal inside. Unfortunately my greddy muffler was cut but that was at my discretion. Pepe gave me a choice whether to straight pipe it or add a resonator. He allowed me to try both and I liked the 2nd choice better. Now, I was on a tight budget and probably couldn't even afford the price. Pepe however did give me a great price for an amazing job welding the new resonator to my cat back exhaust.. it sounds clean. Went in to get a muffler delete and straight pipe installed on my 2014 Mini Cooper. They are a pretty busy place so the first time I went in they didn't have any time to work on my car and it was on the weekend so it's always normally busy at places like these. I went back in during the week after I called to make an appointment and he just suggested for me to come in. Took 30-40 minutes, the guy was nice and now my car has a nice roar to it. I plan on coming back to get an exhaust installed, he has a lot of different kinds and he's very helpful. I found this business through yelp after noticing that my Mustang was making a lot of noise when I started it cold. I visited their shop at around 2pm and they helped me immediately. They listened to the car using a length of rubber hose and identified exhaust leaks on both manifolds. They gave me an estimate and said the work could be done by 6pm the same day. I had a race header installed but needed a midpipe and resonator put together to fit my axleback. I explained to him what I needed and he gave me some advice on what to do. I left my car there overnight and came back the next day to pick up my car. I am really okeased with his work and welding skills.
