Do not trust these guys people! They are shade tree. They only can work on older jeeps. The don't have the equipment to work on modern computerized jeeps. If you have computer problems they'll just charge yo for diagnostic and tell you they can't fix it. read more

I called for a price estimate on regearing a 2010 JK Jeep from 3.21 to 4.10 a quite common procedure and was told I needed a new carrier! Thousands of Jeep forums know this is a blatant upsell scam. Never reward those that lie. I currently have a 2200$ quote from a Washington State Shop. No 2010 is new or unknown never rewarded being lied to by a con artist salesman. We didn't waste our time and went elswhere Update:: We only took it to one mechanic who did work from his garage he didn't have a transmission lift when he found out about the transmission issue. He push the jeep a half a block to your location where you notified us it would be $1200 to fix we okayed that. A few days laterYou called us with the results that we needed a new transmission after your $1100 fix didn't work. You never offered us a discount from those prices you quoted us when we asked for the $1100 to be refunded or applied to a new transmission or rebuild you said no. We called other shops who said your process to fix was incorrect. read more

These guys are great. I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee in for a noisy bearing and they spent HOURS struggling with rusted wheel bolts, and eventually had to chisel them off by hand. Once they got the wheels off the bearings actually looked fine and they didn't recommend any service there. It was a big project that they could have charged a fortune for, but instead they kept me informed the whole way through, charged a fair price, and didn't try and gouge for the extra bearing service even though they could have. read more

i would give this company negative stars if i could-but had to give it 1 star in order to post negative feedback...our 2008 jeep jk was pushed to this place from a shop that could not do transmission work. High Octane looked at it and gave an $1100 estimate that was agreed upon. A few days later they call after completing the work and said we needed a new transmission....what they did for $1100 - did not fix the problem and quoted another $4000 for a transmission rebuild or $1700 for a used one with over 100k miles on it...i would NOT reccomend this place. What a waste of $1100 for nothing. we ended up towing our jeep out of there and took it to another shop. now to reply on your comment below.... you did not offer us a discount... you charged us $1100 that did fix the issue. read more

When the brakes on my '77 CJ went out, my mechanic said he could replace the proportioning valve - if he could find one - for a thousand bucks. If he could find one. When I was originally searching for a new (old) Jeep, Tom Gansert, Sr., had been very helpful, so I called the guys at Jeeps with Scars. Tom Jr. took eth call and said, "Bring it in and we'll take a look." Within minutes of arriving, Tom and Tim, one of the mechanics, had diagnosed the problem (and spotted a couple more) and said they would have it done by the end of the day. While trying to rebuild the proportioning valve, they realized they needed another part, which would take a week or so to order. They then offered to store my Jeep, although they expressed concern about leaving an open Jeep in the yard. The last garage I had taken my Jeep to had left it out in the rain for five days without telling me, so I was THRILLED that they gave me the option to come pick it up. Which I did. When the part came in, I dropped the Jeep off in the morning and received a call that noon. Tom, Jr. said try as they might, rusty bolts were causing slow going, so they'd need to keep the Jeep over night. It looked like rain, so Tom assured me they'd cover the Jeep and secure it behind the wall. It was ready the next afternoon, and preparing for a huge bill due to all the work they put in, I was amazed to find the total about one-third what my mechanic had quoted me. And the brakes work GREAT. Just like Tom, Tom and Tim. These guys are great to work with: they communicate, they know their stuff, they're fair and they seem to love what they're doing. read more

I attempted to take my Jeep here a few times for repairs and always gave them the benefit of the doubt. HIGH ADVISE TO NEVER TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE FOR REPAIRS!! Their mechanic has no clue what he is doing. They stated they had my Jeep fixed, knowing I would be heading 2 hours away into the mountains that weekend. After returning, not having anything feeling fixed, I took it to another mechanic who stated it was not even safe to be driving around town, let alone into the mountains! That mechanic advised I take it back to them to be fixed correctly. I did, only to have them charge me another $2000 to supposedly fix it more. First off, they probably caused me more damage by not fixing it correctly the first time. I spent the money, only to be told shortly later by yet another mechanic that it STILL was not safe to drive. TWICE, they charged me a ton of money just to leave their garage in a Jeep unsafe to even drive. I refused to ever go back there. Not only did they charge me for supposed repairs that were never correctly done, they kept my Jeep for long periods of time, costing me extra money for Uber expenses. The second time I took it to them, they said the repairs were taking longer than expected because they had to go to 4 Wheel Parts 3 times to get the right part. Shouldn't a Jeep repair shop have some clue about what parts they need?! Finally, I took it to High Country 4x4 who fixed it correctly (FINALLY). Not only that, but High Country 4x4 also checked my engine and transmission to make sure putting extra money into the Jeep would be worth it and not need other repairs anytime soon. Will ALWAYS take my Jeep to High Country 4x4 now and would highly, highly advise that no one take their vehicle to get fixed at High Octane. They will SCREW YOU OVER and take no responsibility for it. read more
