I worked at Starbucks for a few years and it seems like the regular drip coffee is burnt (at Starbucks not here), High Point is hitting all the marks with the quality of their coffee and customer service. Okay... i wanted to like this place based off everyone else's reviews, but i just can't! I ordered a white chocolate mocha with caramel. I'm so disappointed... i can't even taste the coffee because of the overwhelming sickly sweet flavors. My iced coffee is practically white which makes me wonder if it even had coffee in it... never again! I had to throw it away after 2 sips... waste of money!! read more

Interesting experience here coming from a diverse customer perspective. About 4 people behind the counter, no one else in line, not many people in the store (~4) yet it took several minutes before we were even acknowledged, standing patiently at the counter looking to see who would be interested in taking our order. One young woman even put her head down when she made eye contact with us and didnt utter a word to us. As we patiently finally were acknowledged to order (not a greeting in sight) we recieved our drinks and after a good 15+ minutes (again fairly empty..no customers had ordered past our order) we had to ask for our food, that was "forgotten". Sadly and disappointingly enough after a few minutes as more customers came in, they were greeted and attended to as we were hoping to experience based on the ratings and friend recommendations. High Point Coffee has been around a long time so after years of driving by it I finally gave it a try. DOUBLE YUCK!! The most watered down, expensive, unsweetened (supposed to be sweet), cold (supposed to be hot), lack luster bodied cafe mocha I ever had. My son's cafe mocha was the same. My wife ordered a side entree and it never came out. Staff was nice but incompetent. I can't believe the high star ratings here on yelp. Did HP offer free coffee with a yelp rating? This place is an oddball in my book, as i generally like the coffee and the people working, but the atmosphere was just off. its very commercial feeling though they obviously went for the cozy look. not that its sterile, but i somehow wouldn't feel too comfortable sitting down for any extended amount of time. like mcdonalds...you kinda just eat the stuff and get out a bit later. the fireplace is nice, but it was 105 outside so it didn't really appeal to me on my visit read more

Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly, as well as customer support through their website. Everything tastes great here, but be sure to come back regularly for the monthly menu changes as their monthly drinks are the definition of amazing designer coffee. Currently I'm loving their Snow White, which has dark chocolate and raspberries in it, last month is was their Jack Frost which had white chocolate and peppermint. Like a monthly? Write down what's in it and request it again, staff are incredibly happy to make whatever combination of flavors you can think up with their incredible lineup of machines, beans and syrups. Love their coffee? Pick up a bag of their beans and take it home with you, much better than what you'd find in a grocery store. Feel bad about using plastic cups every day? Buy one of their thermoses and they'll fill it up for free with a drink of your choice (be prepared to have a lot of coffee that way, 24 ounces!) Tl;dr, no other place in the Salt Lake/West Jordan area compares. Stop going to Starbucks and go to High Point Coffee! read more

I had been drinking Starbucks every day for the last 15yrs. I continued going even when their product stopped being consistent, but a few years back when High point Coffee opened I tried their Marble mocha & this has since been my Go to place. Stopped by high point this Easter weekend. Glad to know that it was opened. I was with my girlfriend and we were looking at alternatives for coffee. Went through the drive thru and the person that took our order for drinks was very attentive. Ended up getting a caramel karma and a green tea tropical. Both drinks were very good.
