Mr. Ratley and his crew came in, removed the old roof and cleaned gutters in the morning and had the new roof on by late afternoon. They were professional and tidy giving us an incredible sense of security. I remember when we bought this house in 2013, Mr. Ratley was one of the people who came by offering a new roof. We remembered him, not because of the offer but because he was the only one that honestly told us we had a few more years out of our current roof so there was no need to rush if we had other expenses. We did wait and four years later we were astounded and mentioned that the price he quoted was less than the original price. He told us that he always passes his savings on to his customers. March 2022: I was out and about over the weekend and saw the phone number for Statewide Roofing…read moreSpecialist on their truck. I decided to call even though I hadn't heard of them or read any reviews. Terry answered the phone himself and scheduled me for an estimate the following Monday morning. Terry arrived on time for the estimate. After taking some quick measurements of my roof, he quoted a very reasonable price. He explained what comes standard with his installation. He explained to me the benefits of the products and accessories I could choose from in terms of upgraded underlayment and weather shield. He offered pricing options with or without a ridge vent. I appreciated that he didn't try to pressure me or upsell me. He even gave me a quick education on NC building code and told me what the minimum options were I could select and still have a roof that met code and had a good warranty. He ended up doing the installation the very next morning. His crew arrived early and worked steadily. Even though Terry did not complete the work himself, you can tell that the company has that small business/family-owned feel. (At one point during the day, one of Terry's family members dropped by to drop off some extra roofing nails for the crew.) I reached out to Terry by phone with a question during the installation, and he was available. Terry arrived before the crew left, and he got up on the roof and inspected the work, and he made sure I was satisfied with everything. The crew did a thorough job of cleaning up, using a magnetic broom to get up roofing nails off of my driveway and my plant bed, and a blower to blow off my roof and blow out my gutters. Terry provided an itemized invoice, showing all of the products that he installed and even the quantity/square footage for each. He also provided product pages describing the features of the GAF products and accessories he installed and paperwork for the warranty. Overall, I was very impressed with Terry's transparency. You can tell he runs his company with integrity. Another company I received an estimate from said that my roof needed 11 square shingles. Terry's estimate was that I needed just 9 square, even accounting for waste. Turns out my roof took just under 9 square as Terry had accurately estimated. I highly recommend Statewide Roofing to anybody in the triad needing a quality roof replacement.

Communication was a little rough, so I found myself having to follow up myself to make sure my appointment was taken care of. A little more organization would take this company to the next level. On service day, the worker ended up making an error that I warned him about before he did it... ended up needing to be fixed the following day. The prices were right in the middle as far as being cheap/expensive. I was left with a coulda been better, but coulda been worse opinion.

He took pictures and explained everything and then gave us options to fix our roof. He cares about you as a customer, not just making money from your problems. He ended up talking us out of the more expensive option because it turned out that it wasn't needed once he got started. We don't know anything about roofing and he could have easily convinced us that the more expensive fix was needed, but instead only did what was actually necessary. Dave is the ONLY man that I will ever call to fix my roof and I trust him entirely with the repairs and the pricing.
