This place does eggs their unique way. Simple menu, delicious food and friendly staff. They have your classic egg sandwiches and also some specialty items that are unique to them. We tried the breakfast sandwich and the specialty that they serve - "Eggy". It's a spin on a classic breakfast. Poached egg on top of smooth potato purée, with bacon and chives on top,served with slices of baguette. It is served in a glass jar. It is delicious and one of items that I would come back for. The sandwich that we got was "The B.E.C", was OK. Thick-cut bacon, over-medium egg, cheese, ketchup mayo, and a warm brioche bun. The bacon was a little too salty for my taste. They are limited on space inside but there is plenty of seating outside. Overall, a good place to visit for some delicious food and oh-yeah, they also have coffee and teas and other specialty drinks. Egghead Sando cafe has a very small store front. It's located inside a fairly busy plaza, but parking isn't an issue. They've got two small tables on the inside and a few tables on the outside for slightly bigger parties. You can order at their counter or at the kiosk, but service is pretty limited in general. My friend and I ended up opting for the same thing. We each got an Eggy and a hot Honey Matcha (regular size, no sugar added). The Eggy comes in a small glass jar filled with potato puree and topped with a poached egg, some chives, and bacon bits. It comes with four slices of baguette. The concept is very similar to Eggslut in Las Vegas, but is not very comparable. I think they lack some ingredients in the potato puree. It honestly just tasted like mash potato, but has room for improvement taste wise. My egg was a tad overdone, so it wasn't runny at all, so there's no egg yolk to mix in with the rest of the jar. It would more be tasty if it was runny though so that it would serve more as a dip with the baguette than a spread. They probably could have elevated the baguette a little more too - maybe with some seasoning. For a little jar, it is quite filling with the amount of carbs. My Matcha was also just okay. Flavor was a little flat, like it doesn't have a vibrancy to it like some Matcha does. The honey doesn't help much either. All in all, our lunch experience was okay. It might be better to go for their Sandos next time since there's probably more ingredients to it. I think I would opt for drinks next door if I were to come here again. We tried the chic, egghead salad, the hojicha latte, and the hojicha. the chic - 10/10, very delicious! the chicken cutlet was fried perfectly and well-seasoned (like a giant popcorn chicken), which paired greatly with the house sauce. the bread was toasty, arugula added for for a hint of freshness, and the egg inside was sunny side--with the yolk oozing inside. hands down the star of our visit! would come back again for this sandwich. egghead salad - 4/10, not that great. only got it because of the promo, but definitely gives the vibe of something tossed together. comes with greens, onion, scrambled egg mixture, pieces of parmesan, and a slice of american cheese. would skip this the next visit. brown sugar hojicha latte - 7/10, hojicha latte was great but a little too milky. you get hints of the hojicha with the notes of the brown sugar. hojicha - 10/10, definitely preferred this drink. hojicha tea was strong (had a great roasted flavor) and was not too sweet. The restaurant is extremely small inside, basically has the counter to order (along with two kiosk next to it), two small tables with two chairs each. Luckily there's a good amount of seating outside. We ordered through kiosk so not too much interaction with staff but food came out pretty quickly after we ordered. Delicious! I came here with my husband after church on Sunday. I've been eyeing this place on Yelp and finally had the chance to try it. I got the scramble and added spam to it. I was excited to try the matcha at Egghead, but was a bit underwhelmed by their iced matcha latte. I like a strong matcha tea flavor, but I got stronger hints of the whole milk. I do appreciate how quick the drink was made. Seating can be a challenge with very few spots inside so just plan to enjoy your food/drink outside or back at home. While I was not impressed with their matcha latte, I do plan to come back and see how their hojicha is. read more

Cute and small spot for sandos! Reminded me of a this one cafe I used to go to a lot during college, which I was craving. There's not much seating inside, but there's a couple of tables that seat 4 outside. You order at the self kiosk where there are many options of sandos and drinks. There was the breakfast burger, veggie one with avocado and cheese, and chicken options that come with an overeasy egg. They have your classic strawberry matcha, but also hojicha! I will say it's more on the pricey side... Egghead Sando Cafe in San Ramon is located in the Diablo Plaza shopping center, next to Orient Express. My buddy George F. and I checked out this place on 06/07/2025. It was quite busy when we walked in at around 10:30am. The shop was tiny and cramped. There were only two tiny tables for dine-in customers and a few more outside. We decided to order on the kiosk since there were no descriptions and prices on the menu above the counter. George opted for the Side Chic and Passion Fruit and Orange Green Tea, and I got the Breakfast Burger and Egghead Cafe Latte. The total was about $42 before tip. Kind of pricy for two breakfast sandwiches and two drinks. We had to sit outside since both of the tables inside were taken. The tables outside were kind of dirty. I spotted some bird poop on one of them. The food took about 10 minutes to be ready. The Breakfast Burger was OK. On the positive side, the brioche bun was fresh, soft, and eggy. On the somewhat negative side, the egg yolk was soft but not runny, and I really couldn't taste the quality of the beef. IMHO, I thought it was kind of average. The latte was pretty decent. The robust coffee taste was exactly what I wanted and needed at that moment. The young woman at the counter was friendly. Perhaps they can invest in an announcement system to let people sitting outside know that their orders are ready. Overall, i thought the experience was just OK. I came here to try to banana matcha and it was pretty good. I am going to have to come back and try the banana latte and a breakfast sandwich of course. I got the small banana matcha with almond milk and honey. Not sure if the honey was added, couldn't tell but it was topped with two fresh bananas and had light ice. I have been wanting to try this place for a while. And finally got a chance today. I ordered the hojicha latte, The Chic, and tater tots. The place is small with a couple tables inside and a couple more outside, so I got my order to go. While I waited outside. The staff from the register brought my latte out for me. That was nice. My food didn't take much longer, and she brought that out too. The Chic was yummy. The hojicha latte had a smooth creamy taste. The brioche bun was soft and fresh. The chicken was a good size piece fried to the perfect crispness. The egg was over medium, so just enough oozy yolk in the center to spill into the sandwich a bit without making a big mess. Every piece of tater tots were fried to the perfect crispness with no soggy or broken pieces. I enjoyed everything I had. The tater tots were a good portion that should have probably been shared. This location has room for one or two tiny tables inside, with a few tables outside, so definitely geared toward take out. At least when I went, it seemed the cashier was new, and being actively trained. The people there were all polite, but it was a little uncomfortable standing there in the small space and not sure if I even needed to stand there, while waiting for a mobile order. I did though, and had to ask the new person twice to get my order (first time she came back with the food, but not my drinks) Overall though, the food here is great for what it is. I love the options and have tried many and found them all to be pretty tasty. Particularly, the breakfast burger and egg in a jar with toast for mornings, but also chic(ken) sandwich for hungry times, or the side chic when less hungry. Overall there is still improvements to be made for the drinks. It wasn't bad but the tea flavor was a bit lacking. For sandwiches, we ordered the chic and ultimate sando. They were both pretty good. The chicken was crunchy and not too greasy. I would give the sandwiches a 4 stars and drinks 3 stars. We sat outside with my dog and the food was brought out to us by a staff. There are two tables outside so you can definitely bring your dogs to dine here. Price point is a little on the high side. Our meal for two was close to $50. It's a small location, and gets packed pretty quickly. So our order took a while to come out, which isn't an issue. But what was an issue was receiving a text on my phone stating my order was ready and heading up to the counter to ask and was met with an associate who laughed at me and then proceeded to say "No, no it's not ready at all." in a very condescending tone. No attempt to even check the status (which it actually was ready and was waiting on the to-go counter but because he didn't bother checking and no one called out the number, I waited an additional 15 minutes before I decided to ask again to receive my food), or even just simply stating "Oh no it's not ready yet" would have been fine. It's just disappointing that while one tries to be patient and just ask a question, that we're met with this type of behavior. Multiple customers waited nearly an hour just to get their drinks. I was also one of them. We had all eaten our food and still waited a ridiculous amount of time to even get our drinks. I just think there needs to be better communication and leadership at this establishment. The food is good, the cooks are great. It's just the rest of the experience that is a let down. read more

Oh my yummy goodness, this has got to be the best chicken and egg sandwich that I've ever had. Where have you been all my life? We ordered an iced matcha and a breakfast B.E.C. sandwich. The matcha was excellent -- smooth, not bitter, and they added sweetener exactly as requested. The sandwich was okay. It's on the saltier side because of the bacon, which some people might prefer. Our wait was about 15 minutes for a pretty simple order. The part that left a bad impression was the avocado add-on. It's a $2 charge and what came out was literally one thin slice (photo attached). Even another customer next to us made a comment saying that what I had was 25 cents worth. When I asked about it, they added one more slice, but while doing so there was a visible argument between the chef and the person at the counter about giving more, right in front of customers. It was uncomfortable, and at that point I would have rather just had the $2 refunded than feel like it was an issue. Overall: drink was great, sandwich was fine, but the handling of the add-on and the customer-facing disagreement made the experience feel off. read more

We stopped by Egghead for breakfast, expecting a solid meal based on its 4-star rating. At first, the Hawaiian sandwich impressed me--flavorful and well put together. But halfway through, I noticed chalky bits at the bottom of the brioche bun. As a chef, I can tell when something isn't right. I brought it to the cashier, who checked with the kitchen. One cook said it was "normal"--let me be clear, it's not normal to have raw flour clumps in a bun. Then another cook said it was dredging flour from their fried chicken. If that's the case, I essentially had raw chicken flour on my sandwich, which is a serious food safety concern. To their credit, the staff did remake my order without fuss, but this kind of cross-contamination should never happen in the first place. read more

Online ordering is great. You can set a pickup date/time and the sandwiches are very customizable. I got the ultimate sando with an added angus beef (top). My wife got the breakfast burger. Both were 4/5 and I wouldn't mind coming back! Inside, pickup orders are behind the counter and there are two small two-seater tables. There was also an ice cold water jug if you want a cup of water while you dine in. My ultimate sando was good, especially the first bite as there was a lot of the house sauce. The sauce tastes similar to in-n-out sauce. Towards the end of the burger, the sauce kind of disappeared so I'd probably get sauce on the side next time (which you can specify in your online order). The beef slice was also slightly dry towards the end, but I think it was made worse with having less sauce. The caramel onions on the burger added a nice taste to it, though! The food is soooo good but the shop is small. They are very quick and they package the food really well.

Everytime we come here they never put chives on the Scramble. This is the description of the Scramble from their menu: "The Scramble cage-free soft scrambled eggs and chives, cheddar cheese, caramelized onions and spicy mayo in a warm brioche bun" As you can see, there are NO CHIVES in this sandwich when there are supposed to be chives. This happens EVERY TIME we order this sandwich, and we've ordered this sandwich at least 5 times at this point. They either think the customer doesn't notice or just take shortcuts to not give chives. I even explicitly asked whether the Scramble came with chives when I ordered last time, and they said yes, yet when I got the order, there were no chives. This is EXACTLY the type of breakfast cafe San Ramon needed I came here on a Wednesday morning right after opening, looking for caffeine and some food. As soon as I walked in and was welcomed by one of the workers. There was an iPad to order or you can also order in person but I did enjoy the option to customize my order through the iPad. Although the cafe is on the smaller side the decor is very classic and timeless. As a matcha and coffee LOVER I was shocked to see Matcha Coffee Latte on the menu, but I knew I had to try it out. This drink was absolutely perfect and the two flavors did not clash but completed each other. I would come back for this drink alone I also tried the Ultimate Sandwich. I loved the flavors of the egg with the sauce and I especially appreciated that I got to choose my choice of protein with this. This was a thick sandwich and I appreciated the quality of it!
