High Tide Taco Bar is our must-visit taco shop in Farmingdale. The tacos are all very fresh and the flavors are creative. I've tried various tacos on their menu over the years, and haven't had a single one I've disliked yet. Service is speedy and friendly, while the ambiance is relaxing and inviting. Couldn't recommend this spot higher - it's a must visit for us and looking forward to coming back again.

Returned to this place after some time, I should have returned sooner, the place is well lit with a nice and clean look, it's very inviting, the service is very good, our waitress was friendly and attentive, the food was even better than the last time I was here, we really enjoyed our meals. We started with a Jalapeño and a Blackberry Mint Margarita. They were good, and they were followed by some Santa Fe Empanadas and Stuffed Plantains. They were very good, the plantains surprised me, I'm not a big fan of plantains but they sure worked the way they prepared them. We ended our meals with a Caribbean and a Korean Taco, which was pretty good, and I had the Fish, Seared Tuna, and Shrimp Taco combo. It was delicious. Will definitely return more often.

The inside is cool, they really embrace the sea vibes. There was only one server for the entire place but they were so sweet and very accommodating. The food was good! They have a lot of vegan options. I would've liked some more flavor but overall not a bad place to get your taco fix.

This place isn't good, they are nice people and the menu looked good but the food just isn't good. The black bean soup was just beans and water and the tacos lacked flavor. The drinks were also weak but they came fast but we were the only ones there so

Ugh! I hate to have to report this. I returned with family to try the tacos! This was an utter disaster. First...the service was atrocious. The waiter and owner were engaged in conversation at the bar and it took nearly 10 minutes to come to our table. They only approached due to our waving our hands. The owner came and we asked about the 2 for 1 drinks which the owner said was good for today and included margaritas. We ordered one set (later the waiter said that it was only 2 for 1 if you ordered a food combo. We explained that was not what the owner said. The waiter left to get the owner, who he could not locate. He came to our table after a good deal of time and said he'd honor it). The food came. The cheese was wretched and sour. It smelled horrible. The smell was so vile one person in my party got visibly sick. The waiter was apologetic but we could not stay. It was a terrible experience and will be the last time I come here. Of note, we did have an appetizer (7 bean dip which was good) and the waiter did not charge us for the one drink and dip which I appreciated.

I'm adding this place on my list as a new spot for tacos. A friend and I went to High Tide Taco Bar on a Sunday evening to grab dinner and catch up and I have to say, I was quite satisfied. It wasn't busy so we seated rather quickly, which was good because the place isn't huge. Our waiter brought us chips and salsa for the table as we looked over the menu. So many taco options to choose from; they all sounded good. But I opted for the pulled pork, carribean (chicken) and brisket. My friend got Korean, fish, and carribean as well. I enjoyed all three, but my favorites were the pulled pork and carribean. My friend loved the Korean taco. Add some hot sauce for a bit more spice/flavor. It was the extra kick I needed, made it even better. For drinks we got margaritas. I got a berry margarita and my friend had a frozen Mango margarita. Mine was good. But there was no salt or sugar on the rim. What's a margarita without that? Anyway, it was okay but I had better. I probably should have went with a mai tai or Mojito. Either way, I'll be back for more tacos!

Taco Tuesday must try! High tide taco, shrimp, steak and the works delicious, also had Birria taco, shrimp, fish and steak tacos

Food is delicious, service is fast, friendly and accommodating Best taco in the area, Tuesday specials are great, but good any night of the week.

The Hufflepuff was bourbon forward and reminded me of an Old Fashioned which further confirmed that is truly my house. It also came with an edible golden snitch. The server pointed it out before I gave them what I thought to be decor. I popped the chocolate golden snitch in my mouth after being directed to take the wrapping off first. We then did butterbeer shots and I can't even begin to tell you how delish they were...dangerously delicious. Food was had and it wasn't anything to write about but I'll try. Queso dip is made in house, which I respect. Loaded potato wontons were a great idea and were probably the best things on the table. You can't go wrong with pretzel nuggets. Chocolate cake is never a bad idea. I ended my visit with a chocolate frog drink. Very similar to an espresso martini. You know how hot they are right now. It came with a an actual chocolate frog which was nice. Finally one of the staff members came over to help us play Bertie Botts and we all picked a jellybean. I got lemon. Some of us got soap and warwax. So fun! It was so good, we are going to try to snag another rez for trivia. Reservations are for 90 minute seatings. You pay $15 for a ticket but you get a souvenir cup with your ticket. Not mad about this because the cup is actually decent and will be used. Their next pop up will be "Slime Time". Slime is not my thing but maybe you'll see me at the other pop ups.

Subject: Disappointing Experience at Vespa - Saturday, August 8th…read moreDear Vespa Management Team, I am writing to share my deep disappointment regarding my dinner at Vespa Italian Kitchen & Bar on Saturday, August 8th. I frequently travel 20 miles to dine in Farmingdale specifically for a premium culinary experience, but this visit ensures that Vespa is no longer a destination restaurant for me. For our table, I ordered two orders of your signature "Clams Vespa" appetizer. According to your menu, this dish features baked little neck or top neck clams. Instead, we were served tiny, cockle-sized clams that were severely overcooked. They were so badly burnt that it was entirely impossible to extract any clam meat from the shells because it was stuck completely. When I raised this issue with our waitress, she brought back a single replacement plate. While this second plate of tiny clams was prepared correctly and tasted delicious because they weren't burnt, it only resolved half of the issue. When I brought up the bill discrepancy to my server, she stated she would hand it to the manager. However, after waiting 15 minutes with no resolution, I was forced to get up, approach the manager myself, and state that I wanted to leave. Only then did the manager expedite the bill correction and take one order of clams off my tab. Between dealing with unannounced substitutions, poor kitchen quality control, and a frustratingly slow service recovery process, the evening was highly disappointing. Combined with an aggressive parking citation issued on Main Street during our meal, the entire 40-mile round trip felt like a complete waste of time and money. I expected much higher quality control and efficiency from a restaurant of your reputation. I hope you address these kitchen execution and front-of-house communication issues so that other long-distance diners are not subjected to the same experience.
