Meh, it's a sports bar. It actually wasn't as "sports bar-ish" as I had expected. Saw quite a few families having dinner at 10 PM as it's the last place open in the hotel for food that late at night. I had the greek chicken salad without the chicken, asking my waiter if he could give me a dollop of hummus instead. He was very accommodating and brought me a sizable portion of hummus. I had a chocolate cake to go, then changed it to key lime. My server brought my dessert to go and my salad out at the same time. Salad was pretty lame, but whatever. The hummus was pretty good. Mostly, I was extremely appreciative that the waiter deducted $6 for not having chicken. I was ready to pay $16 for the salad, with the hummus as the replacement. How very kind! I'm really surprised and shocked in a good way. For such a gesture, I tipped him generously. Though my server said he got the dessert changed, I ended up getting the chocolate cake anyway. Lol. Oh well. Bottom line: Fine spot to go watch "the game", if you're into that, but don't expect too much from the food. read more

I hate writing a negative review but the service at this restaurant was simply offensive. I didn't even get a seat. I was actually refused service because the kitchen was busy. This was a first for me to be honest. I asked for an order to go and Tatiana told me the kitchen was swamped and that food tickets were too long. She dismissed my need before we even had chance to be seated. She didn't want to sit me nor serve me a To go order. There was no line at the front host counter and the gentleman me before was seated without issue. I have never been denied service at an open establishment. The demeanor was cold, the words of disservice were strong, and the feeling I was left with was empty. I wound up going off site to eat. This is a hotel restaurant. I would eat there every day as I'm here at conference, but based on this activity I will instead make a corporate complaint as I have already made complaint to the front desk and will absolutely steer others away from this establishment with a passionate word of mouth effort. I am here at the hotel for six more days and will now go off site to eat because of this treatment. I have travelled with Marriott for a long time but this behaviour has me quietioning their brand. I only visited this place once during my stay, but I enjoyed it overall. I had a very nice waitress and the food was delivered in a timely manner. Good bar food and drinks. They have a good variety of beer on tap and many more bottled options. They have a margarita made with chili pepper that has a nice smokey kick to it. The margarita pizza has fresh basil and lots of cheese. The sea salt chips are served with a 3 onion dip which is a nice kick. Many of the booths have mini tvs at each booth so you can choose your own program. I counted at least 9 wall mounted tvs from where I was sitting. You will be able to see a tv no matter where you are. I knocked them down a star because the speakers were super loud despite it was middle of the afternoon and only 1/2 full. People were having to speak louder in their conversations because the speakers were so loud. I also took off for the sound did not match up with the tvs. The sound was at least 10 seconds ahead of the picture. I wasn't watching any of the games so it did not bother me and since this was my only visit here I don't know if this is a regular problem. My suggestion is if you are coming here to watch the game then check on this before you settle in. Overall, fun, relaxing atmosphere, good bar type food at reasonable prices considering it is in the hotel. I would have no hesitation coming here again. read more

Prices are on the high side, but considering it is in the hotel it normal. Obviously, food prices would be cheaper off the property, but if you are stuck onsite, it's good place to get some food and have a drink especially if you are a beer drinker. They have beers on tap as well as bottles beers. The placed looked pretty empty and we saw a million tables open but we were told there was a 15 minute wait so we waited to sit at the very first booth right when you walk in . I had the burger with fries and they were both very good , the burger had a lot of flavor and the fries were thing and crispy just how I like them. Located in the Orlando World Center Marriott. It's a nice classy sports bar. I came here with my husband and two daughters (3 years and and 1 year old.) We got the burger, buffalo chicken sandwich, and kids chicken tenders. The good was pretty good, the service was beyond slow though. It didn't seem that packed for it to be so slow. The manager stopped by to check on us but I had a mouth full of food lol and it just wasn't worth it with two kids. The faster we leave the better with kids. My husband and I were at this establishment on 12 August 2022 and we had the worst experience ever. First the waitress gave us plates with ants on it then the bartenders were visibly playing in my Pina colada. The manager was really kind but it still doesn't take a way from the completely disrespectful experience. Service beyond amazing! Jaya was our server and he went above and beyond. My husband and I chose to share the HV Burger and expected the burger to be served on a single plate and were prepared to cut it ourselves. I have never had a worse experience in a restaurant in my entire life. A group of 6 of us left our sales conference and went to lunch here and were the first to order when the restaurant opened for lunch at 12pm. We were greeted by "Jen" who took our order and put it in early. We watched the entire restaurant get their food before us, waited 45 minutes with no revisit from "Jen" then when I went to ask "Jen" if she put our order in she said that "they system was down" which to me meant I didn't put your order in. While I watched people who came after us in bigger and smaller groups get their food, eat, and pay their checks, our food was still not here 52 minutes later. After I asked Jen where the food was she then went over to her manager to speak down about our table. She pointed and gave us dirty looks when all I asked was if she put our order in. We had 3 late additions to our table who ordered 30 minutes after we did and miraculously all of our food came out the same time 1 hour and 10 minutes later. Jens manager came over and started being defensive on her behalf. I explained to him how Jen stormed off, threw an napkin, and yelled at me in front of our table for asking why everyone else's food came out sooner than ours. I felt verbally assaulted, lashed out on, and my biggest issues is the lack of responsibility and the defensiveness of the entire staff. Quite honestly I am a foodie, I go to restaurants all day everyday and I can say this is my worst restaurant experience I have had in my lifetime. Terrible. Food was all gross and outrageously expensive. When we asked to speak to the manager, the waiter lied to our faces and told us he was "Out getting wine and won't be back for 30 minutes". We pressed him on this, as to why the manager of all people would be out getting wine, wine which was thirty minutes away, and when he didn't have an answer, he got the manager who, turns out, was stating ten feet away doing nothing. As Sports Bars go.. it gets a good 4 Star Sports Bar Rating .... Expanisve loud set up with booths tables, high tops and nice bar with very nice TV's everywhere. Jorge was our waiter and he was on top of things all night. Drinks were not heavy pours and beer was NOT SUPER Cold out of the bottle not Jorge's doing. Food was very good.. Nachos Top Shelf add Chicken or Chili and 1/2 order reccomended unless your in a group. Brisket Sandwich was piping hot with carmelized onions nd fresh hot fries. Sliders good .... Homemade Potaoe Chips with 3 Onion dip were Killer. Cheesecake was excellent. Downgrade for weak drink / semi cold beer and a Terrible wine by the glass list... It was okay- wouldn't recommend it, but wouldn't say don't go either. We started with the nachos, which were decent, but not hugely flavorful. I ordered the Cobb salad and it was unique. I've never had pickles on a salad before so that was different. Also hard cooked eggs is normal, deviled eggs was a little much. I think it just had too much going on. My daughter had the featured burger which was an Italian burger. She liked it just fine. Our waitress was super friendly and service was quick, I just wasn't impressed one way or the other. High Velocity is a newly remodeled sports bar at the Orlando World Center Marriott. It's a big improvement from the previous sports bar, and the place screams excitement with neon, multiple flat screens, and bright lights. It's also very noisy, and if you are looking for a place for conversation, this ain't it. But, it's not bad for some light bites and brews. The menu has the usual wings, nachos, and burgers. but they also have some Asian dishes such as spring rolls (very tasty) and grilled shrimp with rice noodle (good and very light). You're still paying $6 for a beer and $14 for chicken nachos, but it's not a bad place, as long as you're not expecting a quite place to talk. read more

I was recently at the Marriott World Center for a conference and on the last night was meeting a friend for drinks- well because it was pouring down rain she decided to valet park - which would be free if validated in a restaurant. So we picked High Velocity to get what we thought would be a quick meal and some drinks. It was 645pm and a wait for tables, but they had some high top tables in the bar that you seat yourself. We did that and the bartender came over to serve us. Drinks were served quickly and tey were very responsive to our needs. I was getting so tired of eating out having been at the conference now for 5 days- I was craving a grilled cheese sandwich- which was not on the menu. I always figure- they have bread, cheese and a grill- it's not out of the question- so they were very accommodating and actually the "order" came with two grilled cheese sandwiches with fries. It was delish! My husband had ordered a seafood dish and enjoyed it very well and my friend Maxine had ordered one of the appetizers. We were there for a few hours (longer than planned)- but they were so attentive throughout the night. It is a typical sports bar atmosphere, so a bit noisy- but that is to be expected. Okay, I got in late. It's a hotel bar that serves food. Service was awesome, ordered a turkey burger and it was bland. It was cooked fine. The fries were good. The beer was good and very cold. I ordered dessert. Key lime pie because it was my favorite and they had it. Not because I wanted dessert. Price was very high as expected for a resort. That burger should have knocked my socks off, but it was the worst turkey burger I've ever had. It was hot and that was all I could say for it. Rundown - Been coming here for years - Drinks and Service can be a hit or miss - I can only vouch for the Nachos - Fun place to shoot Pool with friends I've been coming to the World Center for the yearly Blackberry Conference held by RIM. I can say that the pool table is usually available and the Nachos are ok. My friends always say the bloodymary is horrible. I think it was their blend of horseradish that made it taste bad. Our waiter, David L., was friendly, informed about the menu, made suggestions in our choices too. For example, he suggested a half platter of the nachos appetizer - for three adults, he was so spot on. Also suggested we step out of our comfort zone with beer choices -again so glad he did. I see other reviews mention it was a bit spendy. Compared to the sports bar we go to near home, it is just slightly higher. But I would expect that in a resort hotel. It's about the same as the Marriott near home. Considering we had a long day at the park and wanted a good beer and dinner, we couldn't have made a better choice. Avoid the steaks here. There are better choices on the hotel property than here. I paid $29 for a steak and fries. What I got was a "frankensteak" or artificially formed and presented as prime sirloin. It was full if sinew and the multidirectional grain throughout indicated it was not a real prime cut of meat. I expect this at a truck-stop serving steak and eggs for $9 bucks but certainly not what we paid. Other than that, the service was good for a typical sports bar. read more

Sports on the TVs is about the only good thing in this place. Overpriced and without any flavor. Being a sports bar, my expectations aren't the highest for the quality of the food, but I've had better food at simpler, cheaper places. The place was only about half full, yet it took almost 45 minutes from the time we ordered for our food to arrive (a cheese quesadilla, some chicken strips, and some fries). The hostess was actually our server for most of the evening (she was very nice and helpful), we were never given any explanation as to why our server was never around, and literally the only time we saw our waitress was when she dropped off and picked up the check; no, "sorry for the trouble," or thank you's or goodbye's, just "here you go." Lastly, my boss ordered a piece of chocolate cake to take back to his room (long day of work). When he got back they had given him a dessert that maybe was key lime pie, but he described it as inedible. I am very disappointed in the service at all in restaurants at the Marriott World Center. There seems to be an attitude of little to no regard for customer service, since there are plenty of people lining up. I've worked in the restaurant industry, my fiancé has and does as well, and I've also worked in high traffic tourist areas and would never dream of treating any of my customers the way I've been treated. My friends and I were at the Marriott World Center for a conference, and decided to try dinner at High Velocity. I have never had food at a restaurant bad enough to complain about until this place. Everything we ordered was really awful. We got some chips and salsa as an appetizer - the chips were actually stale and the "salsa" was canned tomato cubes just taken out of the fridge. For dinner we all had either sandwiches, wraps or flatbreads, and they ended up tasting like middle school cafeteria food. The wraps were dry and old and the flatbreads were microwaved instead of baked. The portions were incredibly small, and even still we couldn't finish more than half of our meals before giving up. Considering the insane hotel-food prices being charged at this place it's not justifiable for the food to be this bad. The service was also poor - we only saw our waiter when it was time to order and again when it was time to pay. Drinks were not refilled while we were eating. When I asked the waiter if there was someone I could talk to about our meals, he straight up lied to me and claimed the manager was "gone for 30 minutes getting wine for a large party," and that there was no authority figure at the restaurant who could help us. When I told him how unlikely I thought that was, he was magically able to get in touch with the manager in less than a minute (the manager was standing at the front of the restaurant the whole time.) We got 30% taken off our bill. I am not a food snob - this is the only time I've ever complained at a restaurant. But High Velocity was horrible, and I would recommend anyone staying at the Marriott World Center to try anywhere else. For hotel bar and restaurant high velocity exceeded my expectations. I am vegan and have severe food allergies. I stayed at this resort for 4 days and every day this restaurant had a new meal for me to eat. The chef came out to greet me, he made sure that my order was right. The staff remember me from day to day including my allergy. The drinks I had were phenomenal. I am surprised that this resort can offer a variety of foods with my allergies in mind.
