I recently learned of this establishment as I saw an offer for $15 for $30 worth of casual dining. They are located in Highland Crossing. My hubby and I came earlier this week on Tuesday and they were closed (normally not) so we made another trip out today. I made reservations at the recommendation of a staff when I called to confirm their business hours. He said it's hard to predict if they would be busy or not. Upon arriving at 5:30, there were plenty of available tables even though the restaurant is small. We were told we could sit anywhere so we sat at one of the two communal high top tables. Bar and patio seating is also available. My hubby's order included an orange crush, Mangers Irish Cider, malted everything pretzel (app) and pierogi as his entree. I ordered the fish & chips since it got good reviews on yelp. Sadly we were not impressed with our food with the exception of the pierogi, which we both agreed was the best tasting out of everything we ordered. The pretzel was average although the added beer cheese (extra $1) was good. The menu said the fish & chips came with a side of spicy slaw and side of tartar. It came with neither. I didn't realize until coming home and looking at a photo of the menu that it came with slaw. I did ask for the tartar sauce. The fish was bland and needed seasoning or at least salt and pepper, which I asked for. I did like the batter which was crispy. I am not sure why other reviewers raved about the fish. Could it be a new cook? The rosemary parmesan fries had good flavor, but were too soggy. If they were cooked longer and came out crispy, they would have had potential. I'm assuming the kitchen was slow as it took awhile to bring out our order. Our server was friendly and came by one or twice to check on us and to clear our table.

We rarely venture this way but were in the Laurel area and Yelp provided this option. Yelp is never wrong. After we killed time by checking out the Brighton Dam, we came here. Let's just say if this was near our house, we would be there all the time. Clearly a local joint. Open inside and family friendly. Excellent beer list on tap and in cans. Great menu options! Love that they have lots of local beers on tap. And live music tonight. Bless his heart I'm old enough to be his mom but no breaks in an hour plus set of music that spanned the decades. Service was excellent. Our server was very friendly. So what did we eat? Started with the everything pretzel with the mustard and beer cheese. So good. Hot and fresh and not huge. Most of the time pretzels are huge but this was just enough. The kid got mozzarella sticks and devoured them. Hubby got the brined chicken sammich. I got a special. Apple, Brie and arugula croissant sandwich. Delicious. We barely, and I mean barely, saved room for the dessert. Locally made cheesecake. We got a slice of PB swirl. OMG. So good. Definitely worth the trek out here.

    Nachos were top notch.

Second time visiting, this time for dinner on a Sunday night. The dining and bar space is always clean and straightforward, which I like. Our server Brian was very nice and helpful with menu suggestions. Beer menu as usual is robust and interesting. Food was great. We ended up getting the goat cheese and mushroom quesadilla along with the chicken salad. Definitely will be back again.

I'm a big fan of their Beer (Beazly, Resurrection) and their Baltimore location so when I saw they were in Clarksville had to make the stop. Pretty quite around 4 but definitely picked up by the time I left around 5:30. Hard to believe they have over 70 bottle/can beers -as well 15 on draft. Sort of hidden in a semi office park. Good size bar area and high top and regular tables as well some outside seating. Got a Flight as I wanted to try some of the other draft beers. Rezzy and Beazly were as good as I remember. Enjoyed the Southern Tier Winter and Union Christmas Ales also. Didn't get any food but saw that others were enjoying their Quesadillas, Nachos etc. This is a Gastropub. Jen (Bartender) was amazing! Greeting all as they walked in and discussing and answering questions about the different brews. Crowd was definitely local. A hidden gem-If in Clarksville, don't miss this spot!

Highland Local is a comfy pub-style restaurant with an interesting menu of regular items and specials. Brian was bartending and waiting on tables the night we were first there and he was exceptional! Melissa is also a great server. We especially like the pierogi, quesadillas, cheeseburgers, and their Simple Salad with steak. How nice it is to have a good meal at a restaurant where everyone is kind and cares about your experience. Super friendly staff and yummy food will keep us coming back!

I have been waiting to check this place out for quite sometime now. I usually come in this shopping center every 2 weeks. I've seen this location and also spotted it on yelp. We visited one beautiful sunny Saturday afternoon. It wasn't crowded. Just one table were being used. So we decided to sit at the bar and we both tried a flight. It consists of four of your choice of draft beer on tap. I really enjoyed it. The bartender Jenifer was very nice and we enjoyed talking to her. We decided to purchase some sandwiches to go. I purchased the Cubano. I end up eating a portion of it in the car. It came with some delicious fries. My husband ordered the Reuben tacos which he said was enjoyable as well. This establishment was clean as well as the restroom which I was very impressed. They do offer outdoor seating as well as indoor. Definitely plan on returning since I loved the variety list of beer and adult beverages. I could see me making this one of my regular spots to visit when visiting this area.

3.5 stars, but I'll round to 4. I've frequented the original location in Baltimore and was excited to see they were opening up a spot in HoCo with the same great brews and food. Happy Hour throughout the establishment weekdays from 3-6... nice! Shareables are $2 off, as well as deals on beer, wine & cocktails. Food was spot on, same as Bmore. The rosemary garlic fries are delicious and addicting. The Everything Pretzel with beer cheese and mustard is so much yum. I've never had their fish and chips and these were on point-- 2 nice pieces of cod with a balsamic glaze, fries and slaw. Service is still working out the kinks. Our poor server, bless his heart, was still training and needed a lot of support. Perhaps more training before throwing him to the wolves. Didn't deter our dining experience, but not everyone is as understanding.

Love it here. My husband has been a fan of their beer for many years and we used to go to the Baltimore location once upon a time. The food is really good. We love the garlic rosemary fries! They also have tasty sandwiches, fish and chips, burgers, and really good wings. I finally tried the salmon and it was perfect! There is also a little wine selection which works for me. They have indoor and outdoor seating. But the icing on the cake is the service. Always so warm and friendly. The servers all take their time and try to make more of a connection. We have kids and they make exceptions and go the extra mile to satisfy. Please go, you won't be disappointed!

Great place to meet up with friends! They have a great drink selection of beer and wine and Moses drinks. The food menu is quite good too. We enjoyed the soft pretzel and cheese dip appetizer. The chicken sandwich was a hit with out group and won over the grilled cheese. We al enjoyed our beers and mine was an especially good blood orange from Jailbreak.

Fish and chips and a delicious burger! Food was very good!!!

The food was excellent. Nice selection of beers on tap. Clean and friendly staff. We will go back.

    They do! 3-6 everyday!

So they allow dogs outside like the highland tavern used to do?

We sure do! However, we do not have table service outside on the patio right now. We use it as our waiting area and outside beer drinking space. You can order food and drinks at the bar and hang outside if you like. Hope to see you and your dog(s)…

Chill, local spot for sandwiches and the best onion rings!…read more We went here for lunch after raving recommendations from friends and family. I'm glad we did since it delivered as promised! This place has a vast selection of sandwiches, all served with a side of pickle and housemade chips. Our starters included the tomato soup and onion rings, which were served pretty quickly after our waiter took our order. The onion rings were so crispy and flavorful - the best I've ever tried in the area! Our sandwich orders came out after that, which included the My Thai, Chipotle BBQ beef, and Reuben. The place was packed on a Friday evening and we eventually got two seats at the bar with the help of a friendly patron. The place is large, loud and lively. One of the side rooms is weirdly as bright as a school room. Speaking of weird this brewery is located in the back of an office park... The staff was friendly and hustling. I must say most of their beers are not my favorite. Too many sours and other beers that feel like they are trying too hard to be exotic. I tried their Shore pilsner and even that was a bit odd. I like lighter beers like pilsners, kolsches and hefeweizens so if I lived here I would try some of their non-beer options because I would be back for the food.
