Stop by here to grab food last week. Nice not too big or small. The service was amazing and the food delicious. Sat at the bar and got to see all the other food come out and each dish looked as good as next. She got the Cuban and I got the salmon cakes with grits.although wish it was little bigger it was amazing and came with some og the cheesy grits Ive ever had. Will definitely be back

UberEats Review I live for a wholesome breakfast spot and this place understood the assignment! I also heard that their lunch menu is worth it so I'm looking forward to ordering soon. The brioche French toast was DELICIOUS! It's enough to share but when I say that this was buttery soft and sweet-believe it! It came with eggs prepared your way, so I went with soft scrambled, very tasty! Also added, bacon-just the right serving and it was not over fried. Overall my food was amazing and very cost affordable.

Fried Lamb Chops fried or Grill??!?

One of the worst customer service experiences I've had at a restaurant. I ordered lamb chops expecting, you know, lamb chops--instead I was given fried lamb. I didn't realize the order was wrong until I got home, so I called the restaurant to explain what happened. Instead of apologizing or simply fixing their mistake, I was told it was my fault for not checking the food before I left.Apparently customers are now expected to open up their takeout containers and inspect the restaurant's work before leaving. Then came the ridiculous part: they offered to remake the order, but only if I paid 80% of the price again. So let me understand this: you give me the wrong food, I call to let you know, and your solution is for me to pay almost the full price a second time? That is absolutely insane customer service. Mistakes happen. I understand that. But blaming the customer for your mistake and then trying to charge them again to correct it is unacceptable. I wasn't asking for free food or anything unreasonable--I just wanted the food I originally paid for. The food being wrong was disappointing. The way management handled it was what really made this experience terrible. I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend checking your entire order before leaving because apparently that's the customer's responsibility now.

I've been a longtime fan of Highlands--my mentor first introduced me to the flagship location back in 2010-ish, and I've been hooked ever since. So when I heard they were coming EOR, I was over the moon . I've been here for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even a casual drink at the bar. The murals are gorgeous, the vibes are always celebratory, and the team here is consistently warm, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. In a time where every place seems to tack on a "customary" 20% before asking for a tip, Highlands stays refreshingly modest. Do yourself a favor and go on your birthday--the music goes up, Stevie Wonder comes on, and the entire restaurant joins in to celebrate you .

Mango smoothie 10's across the board perfect. Cajun pasta 10/10 as well 2nd time having it amazing my family took a bite from my plate and wanted to order it to go. Crème brûlée exceptional. Genuinely best food in dc. Only thing is server left their shift while serving us so we had to ask someone else for the check. Place is cute and perfect for a quick bite .

What a cute little gem tucked away in that newish plaza on Pennsylvania ave! Located next to planet fitness..this place is super cute, reasonably priced and DELICIOUS food! Things I enjoyed: - The wings, the curry shrimp, the fried green tomatoes, the collard greens, the fries, the lamb chop were all delicious! REALLY REALLY good! - they do the cutest birthday celebration! If it's your birthday...let them know! - the staff was really friendly - ample parking! The only reason for the 4 stars was they were super slow...while the team was really kind...it was slow. Won't stop me from coming back, but hoping it's an easy fix.

Mannn listen. I don't know who is in the back in that kitchen but listen it took me 15 minutes to decide so I went with the Branzino 10/10 not what I was expecting and I got the Mardi Gras pasta, wasn't my fav was on the watery side the bonus was portion. 5/10

Highlands is one of my favorite places to eat in DC. this photo of the breakfast sandwich is not doing the food justice but it's the only photo I could grab while I was chowing down on this delicious breakfast sandwich. My favorite thing to get from Highlands are their breakfast and their salmon, rice and spinach dish. They're very consistent. The vibe is very nice and the customer service is always great easy parking too. I highly recommend this place.

It was okay. The service was good and fast. The food for me left a lot to be desired. I got the open faced shrimp omelette and besides the seasoning from the tomatoes, peppers and onions there was hardly in taste to it. The shrimp was seasoned. It wasn't crowded when we went so the noise level was good.

Now, I've ordered chicken and waffles from here at least 20-30 times. I ordered via UberEats today and was given the two smallest pieces of chicken! What's going on?! I'm usually given nice size pieces and can split my food into meals! Then they had the audacity to NOT include syrup and butter!!! Stuff is way too expensive for this!!! Moving forward, this restaurant is on my "do not order from" list.

Get in here yall! They got parking! I love that I can park in the lot and not ride around until someone leaves. The food was pretty decent to where I'll give it another shot; just wasn't blown away. Very nice staff, my server just never came over. We also didn't have utensils so had to wait for someone at the bar to see us aimlessly lookin for someone to notice us. Iced coffee not great but the chai tea made up for it. Highlands has the most beautiful mural inside. It was a nice place to go grab a bite and chat with friends and family.

    Fried Green Tomatoes

This was my first time trying Highlands. I went to get takeout because it isn't far from a friend's house. I ordered a Chicken Empanada, Beef Empanada and Fried Green Tomatoes. My friend got the Blackened Salmon dinner which came with 2 sides - Jasmine Rice and Spinach. Everything was delicious. The service was quick and the food was fresh. The cashier was polite and there were a few families dining in. I took the food to go and ate about 30 minutes later. The food was still a good temperature. The empanadas came with a sauce to dip in. The sauce had an Asian vibe and it was tasty. The tomatoes came with a garlic sauce that I even dipped the empanadas in as well. My only complaint which isn't the restaurant's fault is that fried green tomatoes can get soggy as far as the batter if you don't eat them right when they're crispy. Other than that I would easily go back to try the other dishes or even breakfast.

It's a basement bar with a bit of a dive vibe, but it's hard to ignore the nautical, blue crab theme throughout. Turns out that one of the owners is a Marylander, which is cool to see reflected in the decor in a place in dc, even though it is next door. They have a happy hour and they have a great variety of drinks in general. It's bring-your-own-food (BYOF) and there are a bunch of delicious looking Asian spots nearby, including upstairs. It didn't start getting crowded until closer to 10, which, as I said, is surprising for this part of town to me. Everywhere in Chinatown is not going to be packed and busy, and this place is here to remind you of that. Stop by if you're looking for a more chill vibe. Staff are pretty cool.

Finally made it to The Duck & The Peach and I'm already planning my next visit…read more The space strikes that perfect balance. It feels upscale and thoughtfully designed without being stuffy or uncomfortable. The duck absolutely lived up to the hype. I'm usually hesitant ordering duck since it can be undercooked, but this was done perfectly and incredibly flavorful. Easily the standout dish of the night. We also tried a fish dish that was solid, but if you're choosing, go for the duck every time. There's a mushroom appetizer that I wish I could remember the name of because it's a must-order. Same goes for the crudo, which was fresh and delicious. And I have to mention the bread and butter. The pink pumpernickel bread paired with that perfectly whipped butter was unreal. Simple, but done exceptionally well. The whipped mashed potatoes deserve their own moment too. They were so smooth and rich they basically melted in your mouth. And then dessert sealed the deal. The Black Forest cake was absolutely divine. Truly a 1000/10 moment. The only real miss for me came at the very end. They handed out bright red DoorDash bags for leftovers, and it completely clashed with the otherwise polished experience. When I asked about it, I was told they use them because they're free, which honestly made it feel even more out of place. A small detail, but it took away from an otherwise beautifully curated night. Overall, still an amazing dinner. Not sure what took me so long to try this place, but I'll definitely be back.

We also had the beet salad, which we enjoyed. For our main, we ordered the whole duck. It was well cooked and tender, but we found the flavor a little too subtle for our taste. We were hoping for crispier skin and a deeper, more savory flavor, especially compared with Chinese-style roast duck, where the crispy, flavorful skin is such an important part of the dish. This version felt a bit plain to us. Overall, though, it was a lovely neighborhood spot with a cozy atmosphere, and that buckwheat bread alone is worth ordering again!
