Honestly, my experience was just okay. The place is spacious and clean and clearly people love it because it was packed. As for the food, it was very underwhelming to me. The standout was the cornbread but the pasta we had was just okay. For the price, I was expecting a bit more
If you tell me there's a happy hour with flavored margaritas and good wings, I'm probably already in the car. That's exactly how I ended up at Marley's with a few friends from high school, and thankfully, it did not disappoint. We kicked things off with the flavored margaritas, which came in strawberry, peach, mango, lavender, and passion fruit (plus one other flavor that escaped me after a margarita or two ). They were refreshing, flavorful, and reasonably priced, which is becoming a rarity these days. Cheers to that. For food, we ordered two rounds of the lamb chops (because one was never going to be enough), mango habanero wings, jerk wings, French fries, and the lobster & crab dip. Everything came out surprisingly fast, was hot, and most importantly, delicious. The lamb chops were the clear MVP of the table--tender, flavorful, and gone in record time. The wings also held their own, and nobody had any complaints, which is saying something when dining with a group. The service deserves a shoutout because our server was attentive, friendly, and checked on us regularly without making us feel rushed. That's the sweet spot. As for the space, Marley's is definitely on the smaller side, but it has a nice, intimate vibe with a solid bar area and high-top seating. There appears to be a private room as well, though the door stayed closed during our visit, so I'll have to save my judgment for another day. I've heard their brunches and DJ nights get pretty turnt, and honestly, I can see it. Bonus points for cleanliness because both the restaurant and the bathroom were spotless. We notice these things! My only critique? The food portions felt a little small for the price point. Also--and I know this may be controversial--the automatic 20% gratuity on every check regardless of party size gave me pause. I understand adding gratuity for larger groups or to combat chronic non-tippers, but 20% as the default feels a bit aggressive. Luckily, our service was excellent, so it wasn't an issue this time. Still, it's something diners should know before the bill arrives. Overall, Marley's delivered where it mattered: good drinks, delicious food, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere. I'd absolutely come back for happy hour and am now a little curious to see what one of these DJ nights is really giving.
Overall, I had a good brunch experience at Marleys. I came in with a party of 4. This was my first time having their brunch and the service was friendly, attentive, and surprisingly quick. I ordered Marley's Big Breakfast, and overall it was very tasty. The eggs, turkey sausage, and french toast were cooked well and flavorful. My only small complaint was that the breakfast potatoes were a little cold by the time they reached the table. Other than that, everything was enjoyable and the portion size was satisfying. The fast service and welcoming atmosphere definitely made up for the minor issue with the potatoes. The restaurant was designed nicely, very modern, and aesthetically pleasing. I'd come back again to try more items on the menu! Please note that they do charge a 20% gratuity and alcohol will be back being served June 23rd.
The egg rolls were fire! I'd go back for the lobster / crab eggrolls alone. The Philly cheese steak egg rolls were also very tasty and so were the chicken wings. The only thing I'd skip is the crab dip because it tasted more cheesy than crab. The cornbread was also good, very sweet with the cinnamon butter but overall good vibe.
Marley's is a vibe. I attended a Yelp elite event here several months ago and planned to come back! It took a few months but I finally visted yesterday during their all day happy hour. Yes happy hour is all day on Mondays. I like that happy hour isn't just limited to the bar seats! Woot! The blueberry lemondrop was pretty good - ir seemed to be very popular! The cheesesteak eggrolls were delicious. If you haven't been to Marley's, check them out!
Walked in around 3pm on a Saturday. MUSIC WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO loud. Literally, everyone was screaming to talk to each other at the tables. We got the honey cornbread. Really good. Enough for 4 people. I only had the Cheesestake egg rolls. Good Guest had the Chicken & Waffles. He didn't like the waffle as it was too hard. The Chicken pieces were good. I had the Blackberry Sangria. Tasty. Large. He had an Old Fashioned, said it was good and strong. Gratuity is automatically included They also have a closed off room, for birthday parties etc. Multiple garage parking is still available. Free for the 1st 2 hours
Stopped by Marley's on a Wednesday afternoon and they had all day happy hour. By recommendation of the bartender, I ordered the chicken alfredo (with cajun spices added) and it was so delicious! 10/10 You also can't go wrong with the Marley swirl. As always, the music playlist was on point, the restaurant was clean, and the servers/bartenders were helpful.
The food was Horrible!!!!!!!!!!! The wings weren't fried hard enough, the eggrolls were dry and fried harder than the wings!!!!!!!!! The green tea shots were ok, just very sour. The service was ok, and the aesthetic is cheap looking (Imo). Green tea shots(2) - $16 Lobster & crab eggrolls -$17 Wings(6) - $13 Plus the service fee that included. I paid $60 for a happy hr at a black owned restaurant and I'm disgusted!! I'm all into supporting my people but nope, with the food & service I received I'll never be back. I would like to add black owned restaurants do be having amazing food, BUT when it comes to a happy hr/discount, I'd back out. The service you receive because they offer you a discounted price is horrible! I rather go with the others because their service the same, they hold up the quality of the food/service & that's why we see how others last longer than same.
This place isn't your typical sports bar... yes, there's a bar and TVs but there is also an "upscale-ness" about it as well. I met a friend here for a catch-up session, I arrived first and was seated immediately at a table of my choosing. It isn't a huge space but enough to not be right next to people if it isn't too crowded. My waiter checked in on me multiple times before my friend arrived and when I finally ordered my food, it came out in about 15 minutes. Everything was so flavorful but the asparagus could've been cooked a little longer. Also the parking situation is very confusing, it only allowed me to pay for 15 minutes at a time. Will definitely be back...maybe in an Uber.
Sunday Brunch Experience: I didn't appreciate how our reservation was for 2, however we didn't get sat until almost 230... Mind you we were all there at 1:50. I did get a drink while waiting since I was really early. $20 for ONE lemon drop is INSANE. It was good, but not $20 good. Once finally seated, we started with bottomless mimosas, dry rub wings, steak and cheese egg rolls, and cornbread. My friend also ordered strawberry biscuits but they never came....Ended up ordering the bacon cheese burger, Rasta pasta, honey old bay wings, and crab & lobster egg rolls. The vibes were definitely lively. There was a DJ who was very engaging. I think I'll try happy hour next time because $100 for mimosas, steak egg rolls and a burger is STEEP (not including the lemon drop I had while waiting). Steak & cheese egg rolls 7/10 (could have been better if there was more filling) Cornbread 10/10 (perfect) Dry rub wings 7/10 (a little dry) Rasta pasta w/salmon 7.5/10 (decent according to my sister) Honey old bay wings 7/10 (decent-just dry) Crab & lobster egg rolls 1/10 (just no!) This place is cute. I stoped by as I was in the area and I was hungry and I was looking for a bar and grill style restaurant . I came during the afternoon on a Tuesday ... and it was relaxed and vibey, exactly what I was looking for. First of all the music playlist was fire, all the menus are available via QR code and I immediately ordered the lobster and crab dip. Mmmmmm is all I can say, I tasted plenty lumps of meat, it was good! I also ordered the lamp chops that came with this honey sauce on the side and arugula, this was also very satisfying. All of this I paired with Merlot- whew yesss this was all so very very good, my tastebuds were dancing lol. Service was good. It was slow but the food was worth the wait. I also love the glassware/ plates were all very beautiful and on theme with the overall interior decor and colors. The accent walls and marble everywhere made it feel elegant. I sat near the window and I enjoyed eating and watching life happen lol, the natural lighting made it calming and added to the overall relaxed mood. They have a lunch and dinner menu, they also have brunch menu , happy hour menu, and kids menu.... I ended up trying there Lemon drop shot at the end and it tasted ok.... It tasted like juice idk if that's a good or bad thing lol. Overall I give them 4/10 for my personal rating and here is why... When it was time to pay the bill prices did not match the menu prices which felt misleading, and then they have a 20% service charge and 3% more if you use a credit card... I live and breathe for transparency so this just felt sketchy considering none of this was mentioned before or during my meal... I don't mind included gratuity when it's disclosed upfront, but the service charge + credit card surcharge weren't clearly communicated before ordering, which made the final bill feel like a surprise to me. I asked my waitress what the service charge was for because I was confused whether it was meant to cover her tip/gratuity or not, and she confirmed it was not. She was kind and honest, but what she shared raised red flags for me. She said she only receives 3-5% of it, without providing a clear explanation on what determines that percentage. I also had to request a breakdown of the bill, and that's when I noticed I was being charged $23 for an item listed as $18 on the lunch menu. Even after a $5 adjustment was applied, the 20% service charge still appeared to be calculated on the original subtotal, not the corrected amount, so the final bill still didn't feel transparent. So between that and other items ringing up differently than the QR menu (both higher and lower), checkout felt all over the place. This RUINED my whole experience and made the whole thing feel sketchy and tacky. The food was good, but the overall experience wasn't giving "$100 lunch" like two apps, one glass of wine, and one shot should not land there, especially with undisclosed fees. I will not return.
This restaurant seasons their food and I have yet to have a bad meal here. The first time I came, I tried the Rasta pasta and it's probably the best Rasta pasta I've ever had. You can add different proteins so I've had chicken and lamb in mine. The next dish was the fish and grits. Their grits are so rich and the fish is cooked perfectly. The only reason I had to give 4/5 stars was because there was a piece of cooking string in my plate but the bartender made sure I got a comped take-home dish. Overall this is a great spot for happy hour, dinner and a small gathering because it's not that big. Overall I can't wait to come back for good drinks and vibes by the DJ of the night.
I have enjoyed trying out all of the restaurants on America Blvd, but Marley's is a nice spot to frequent for any occasion. The ambiance was cozy, and the separate dining space is a nice touch. The staff was friendly, so it made for a god dining experience. We sat at the bar and sampled a few items on the menu, the lamb chops and the egg rolls. Everything we ate was delicious! The lamb chops were made medium-to perfection. While the food was great, the drinks left a little to be desired. Hopefully we can order an espresso martini and a green tea shot next time :) I look forward to going back.
"Yes 5-Stars for sure" Marley's Bar is not just another dine in location.... This establishment, comes with its own unique vibrant atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable in a super cool way. I sat at the bar, and instantly enjoyed the friendly but respectful banter with the other patrons. With that being said, you can also retreat into your own comfort zone and enjoy your meal in peace. I ordered the salmon, rice and broccoli.... And this meal was perfectly prepared on every level. The salmon, was meaty and seasoned, while the rice was loaded with flavor ( could have used another scoop ) and my favorite vegetable ( broccoli) had the perfect texture to complement the entire dish. While enjoy my evening meal, and very satisfying drink... I was also able to enjoy the first Kickoff to the NFL season !!! 100% assured that I will return again for another amazing meal ( most likely on game day !!! ) If you haven't yet... you have to try it out soon !!! read more
Cool bar vibe & okay eats! I came here on a Saturday night to celebrate a good friend's birthday. We were a large party of 12 and were an accommodated well. Our server was very attentive and kept checking in on us to make sure that everyone was OK and got their food on time. The restaurant is small, but what makes up for it is a cool vibe and good food. A few highlights that stood out for me was the lamb chops, crab fried rice, skillet cornbread and lobster egg rolls..... actually the steak n' cheese eggrolls were good too. As for items that did not hit the mark, I hate to say it was items that were considered simple to knock out the park such as the wings and a seared salmon. Both lacked flavor and the wings were bland....both the plain fried wings and those that were lathered in sauce. It didn't matter, both were a thumbs down. Not to mention, the jerk wings that we ordered for the table.... Was marinated in season well .... But a little on a dry side. Also, I ordered a crabcake platter and it came with two small crabcakes that personally was just okay..... nothing remarkable or out of the ordinary to write about here. I will say that they both were all filled with jumbo lump crab meat --no filler! For me, the lively atmosphere, vibe and good ++strong drinks helped make up for it. In all, great service, good food and decent plates....with good music and super clean restrooms....an added plus! Needless to say, despite missing the mark on a couple of the dishes, we left having a great time and enjoying ourselves. I heard that Marley's has a really good Sunday brunch. Perhaps I'll come back and give them another try because some of the plates were actually really good and worth the price point. read more

Two friends and I came for lunch. I made a reservation for 11:30 and we were seated promptly. It wasn't very crowded, so we asked to be moved to another table and they accommodated the request. We started with crab and lobster rolls, jerk wings and crab and lobster dip. I ordered a rum punch and my friend got the lavender lemonade. She said the lemonade was really good. The rum punch wasn't bad. All the starters were very good. The portion sizes are big enough to be meals. I ordered the honey old bay wings and they were ok, We plan to return for dinner and/or brunch. read more

This was a quaint space with efficient service! I made a reservation thinking it would be busy on a Saturday at 1 PM EST with brunch scheduled to end at 4 PM EST. Surprisingly it was not busy upon arrival. I was informed that we only get the table for 1hr and 30 minutes once we are seated. So I opted to wait for my friend to arrive so that our time wasn't shortened. There was not a long wait for neither my food or drinks. I opted for bottomless mimosas and sangria. My friend ordered a specific cocktail one by one. We both ordered the Ribeye and eggs at our desired doneness. It was good. It was seasoned well enough. I THINK they mixed up our plates what should have differentiated our plates was his request for scrambled eggs versus my request for over medium. Unfortunately both dishes came out with over medium eggs . We didn't bother to have the order corrected. So I cannot speak on how they would have handled the conflict. A steak knife would have been helpful as cutting the steak with the butter knife was proving quite difficult but we were informed there were no steak knives to be found even though they used to have them. The potatoes were well seasoned. Green apple as a flavor for the mimosa was intriguing so I wanted to try that. The first glass I was a tad disappointed because I was expecting it to taste... I don't know, more apple-y? I told the waitress and she was like "really? I thought I put too much flavor, I can do more for your next one" which was a great response because the next one was the right amount of apple flavor I was looking for . I also tried the blackberry sangria. It was just OK. Not enough for me to want another one. We were at the table well over the 1 hour 30 min warning that they told me upon arrival but we did end up closing out and sitting at the bar for a few more drinks and an order of Brussel sprouts. They were a little too sweet as far as the glaze yet crunchy, which I do like. I feel like the glaze was overpowering and took away from the Brussel sprouts being seasoned on their own. I would definitely return. I want to try other items on the menu. The music was also a good vibe. R&B Playlist but no DJ while we were there. read more

I met some friends for brunch at Marley's Bar and Grill. It was noon on a Sunday so I was surprised that it wasn't packed yet. We ordered the seafood over grits in Cajun crayfish sauce, the Marly's big breakfast with turkey sausage, and the berry French toast. The two stars were the seafood over grits in Cajun crayfish sauce and the breakfast potatoes that were served with the Marley's big breakfast. The French toast needs to soaked longer in whatever batter they use. It was very dense and sweet. We enjoyed the lavender french 75 and the apple juice. Our server was friendly and kept checking in with us. We all enjoyed ourselves at Marlys Bar and Grill. read more
Ordered takeaway from Marley's for myself and my husband. We ordered the skillet cornbread, cobb salad, and bacon cheeseburger with fries. Total came out to approximately $55 (not including tip). What's Hot - Menu. Pretty good options. There appears to be something for everyone, with the possible exception of vegans. - Quality. Delicious. Husband and I really like their cornbread. It's soft, moist, and slightly sweet. Good cornbread is hard to find, but this place has it. My cobb salad was good, with the exception I describe below. There was avocado, tomatoes, and cheese. The portions of the food are good. Good value for money. The fries that came with the burger was decent, but don't travel well for a takeaway order. My husband enjoyed his bacon cheeseburger, although he liked the cornbread better. - Service. Our order was ready upon arrival. When I mentioned the name, their hostess handed me the takeaway bag, which was stapled together with the receipt, the name, and our order. Quick and efficient. - Location. Located in a plaza with many other businesses, so it's pretty easy to find. Just be aware of parking issues, which I explain below. What's Not - Service. The staff did not include salad dressing for my cobb salad. Small oversight, but it still sucked nonetheless, especially because this was a takeaway order. - Acoustics. The restaurant itself is not very large and it's a small interior space. Noise inside carries very easily, which makes it difficult to have a conversation. - Parking. There is a parking garage nearby. There are a handful of parking spots on the street, but very few. The point is to be prepared to look for parking, especially depending on the day and time you come. Marley's is a Black-owned establishment that consistently curates great food. I was able to sample some food . *Steak and Cheese Egg Rolls - amazing *The Lamb Chops - soo good *Catfish and Grits...absolutely amazing Definitely going back for more!! Marley's has all-day happy hour on Mondays! One of my friends, @FABFOODIEINTHECITY, did a review and since she never steers me wrong, I had to check it out. I ordered from the happy hour menu: Honey Old Bay wings, lobster & crab egg roll, and the cornbread, plus a blueberry lemon drop cocktail. The food came out pretty quickly. The wings were so flavorful--honestly some of the best I've ever had. The lobster egg roll was just okay for me. But that cornbread... baby, it was heaven-sent and could easily feed 6-8 people. Hands down, the best $12 you'll spend. The bartender, Bri, took great care of me and the DJ kept the vibe going. The only downside: when the check came, I noticed a 20% service charge. My three items and two drinks came to $86, and since service charges don't always go directly to your server, I tipped extra. Spending about $100 on "happy hour" felt steep. That said, the vibes were good, the space is cute, staff was helpful, and the food came out fast. I'd recommend trying it, just be mindful of the service charge. read more
What a great spot in Hyattsville Md near PG plaza. My wife and I popped by Marley's on a late Saturday night around 11:30. To our surprise they have happy hour from 11pm to closing. Will was out waiter and he was GREAT! This is a cute place for a date night. They have about 10-15 tables and a full bar. The bar was packed when we arrived. Will took our orders. I ordered the Cajun Seafood Pasta and my wife ordered the cornbread, crab and lobster egg rolls along with a raspberry lemon drop. The Cajun Pasta was delicious. Very well seasoned and a good portion. It came out piping hot and didn't last long before I finished. The crab and lobster egg rolls were lacking. Claw crab does not taste good to me and this is the kind of crab they used. I wouldn't get these again. Now the CORNBREAD!! AMAZING!!! Huge for the price. It was soft, moist, butter flowing off. Absolutely DELICIOUS! I'd come back just for the cornbread. The raspberry lemon drop was great as well according to my wife. They use good liquor and I had a blast after that drink "wink wink". Overall Marley's is my new late night spot. I've already been back since my first visit and I'm sure I'll be back again soon. Service is very slow. I ordered a drink upon arrival and everyone got their drink before I received mine although I ordered before they did. I ordered the rasta pasta with salmon which was very good. The place was very busy and our waiter Marcus was very patient and accommodating. We sat in a private dining area which was freezing when we arrive, they did adjust the temperature. read more
My friend and I were looking for a brunch spot one saturday and Marley's had been on both of our lists for a while. I must say it did not disappoint! We entered into a lively restaurant and were greeted promptly and seated. The music selection was top tier and helped set the vibes. Our server was excellent and warm, guiding us through the menu and helping us make great orders. I ordered the salmon and grits, crawfish/lobster egg rolls and a lavender french 75. They were impeccable. The salmon and grits were full of flavor. The eggrolls were stuffed which really impressed me. A lot of restaurants try to do those and Marley's gets them right. They are jampacked with seafood and full of flavor. The lavender french 75 was perfect! The lavender really set it off. I was catching up with a friend whom I haven't seen in a while. I thought would be a good opportunity to catch up but unfortunately I didn't realize that going late in the evening would have more of a party atmosphere as far as the music goes. The music was REALLY good so that wasn't a disappointment though we weren't able to talk as much as I would like. Not sure how it is during the day, probably a little more chill. First things first, there is plenty of parking and a parking garage nearby that has validated parking for 2 hours. As far as any restrictions, on the menu it stated a 2-hour dining limit though the food comes out relatively quickly so it doesn't seem to be an issue. They did however also specify on the menu that they "may decline to remake or refund food and drinks that are sent back due to guest requested modifications from the original recipe." This again wasn't an issue as we made no adjustments. We had an incredible server who was very warm and friendly. Speaking with her as a lot of fun. As far as the food, we were pleased with most of our dishes for sure. The skillet cornbread was probably the best in my book. I was shocked at how big it was but it also had a great texture and the honey butter complemented it very well. The lamb chops and grits, you have a choice between catfish shrimp and chicken. But I really was in the mood for lamb chops so I decided to go in that direction. I was not disappointed as the lamb chops were seasoned perfectly and the grits were very flavorful. My friend had Rasta Pasta which they felt was a little more than al dente and a little under seasoned. The Steak and Cheese egg rolls with comeback sauce were also a hit, definitely more elevated version from the ones I've had from local carryouts. All in all we enjoyed our visit. I would probably return for brunch to see what options they have. read more

The atmosphere was nice as the establishment has multiple tv's and they played very good music, mostly throw back R&B. We went for an 11:30 reservation so it was early and not packed. Our server was attentive and the food came out correct. Some items on the menu seemed a bit pricey but I understand the cost of seafood and other items are high right now. I will say the waffle was a bit chewy. Not sure what they put in the batter or if wheat flower was used. The chicken wings were the star for me. The lobster and crab cake egg rolls were good but nothing special in my opinion. It was good but do not expect jumbo lump. The lobster fried rice was good. I didn't not get an alcoholic beverage but the average price is about $15/$16 which I think is a bit pricey. All in all it was a good experience and I recommend you try it out for yourself. Me personally, I'm not sure if I will be in a hurry to come back. It may be a good vibe for Sunday night football. read more

starting off by saying HH is so worth it here. We went on a weekday, and they had a gentleman playing jazz & r&b music and it was the highlight of my night truly!!! we got a few rounds of the raspberry lemon drops, and green tea shots. For starters we tried the steak and cheese egg rolls and beef sliders and for our entree we got the grilled ribeye steak and a side of mac and cheese (BOMB) and the server was so sweet and beautiful, loved her! wish I remembered her name, but she made the experience wonderful. The food was definitely the highlight of the visit. Food: The wings were excellent--fresh, flavorful, and cooked well. My only complaint is that I wish they were a little larger. The crab dip was amazing. It was packed with lump crab meat and had great flavor throughout. The only downside was that it was served with tortilla chips, which didn't really complement the dish for me. When I asked, I was told they did not have bread available at the time. Even so, the dip itself was delicious and one of the best parts of the meal. The pasta was another standout. The portion was huge--easily enough for two people to share. The sauce was flavorful, and there was a generous amount of both chicken and shrimp throughout the dish. I would absolutely order it again. Service & Atmosphere: One thing that stood out immediately was the lack of a host upon entry. Walking in felt a bit awkward because there was no clear direction on where guests should go. I can understand why some reviews mention people walking out without being seated. It may have been because it was early in the day, but having someone greet guests is important and helps create a welcoming first impression. The female bartender was not particularly welcoming. She did not greet us when we entered and appeared uninterested in engaging with guests. When we approached the bar, she simply told us we could sit wherever we wanted. In contrast, the male server was very friendly, attentive, and provided excellent service throughout our visit. I also observed the bartender moving between the bar and kitchen areas, handling food, plates, and sauces before returning to the bar to clean and prepare drinks. While I am not aware of all restaurant procedures, it raised concerns about food safety and sanitation practices. Additional training or reinforcement of safety protocols may be beneficial. read more

I recommend their steak and cheese egg rolls, the crab dip, and the lamb chop Rasta pasta. I've been to their brunch, dinner, happy hour, and even late night happy hour.
