Unfortunately, I was met with an absolutely atrocious attitude from the young lady who served me today. I asked for two whole filets of Arctic Char from the back cooler instead of the two in the front case. Why? Well, the real answer is that it doesn't matter why...I'm the customer paying nearly $60 for fish and if that's what I want, then the correct answer is a smile and a "no problem, let me go get that for you!" Instead, what I got was a look of utter contempt and an "I mean, what's the difference?" sarcastic reply with one palm raised up to emphasize just how ridiculous my request was. When she returned with the fish, I said "just FYI, all that should matter is that I'm the customer (paying top dollar for a premium product), maybe I'm just a bit OCD." Her response, again with that famous Gen-Z contempt, was "I mean, there's no difference, we just brought it (the fish in the case) out, but anyways, I got you your fish." She just didn't get it. The owner overheard everything and chimed in "all of our fish is fresh here, you don't need to worry about that." Yeah, I know that it's a good product, it's why I shop here, but if my unique brain feels better about having it brought out from the back cooler, why should that merit even a drop of bad attitude?! I told the owner, "I just shouldn't have to explain myself," he retorted "you didn't" and I told him "no, actually I did." So basically, I went in looking forward to a nice experience and left feeling really irritated. Sometimes when I'm passing through Westport, I stop by Westport Lobster Company. I always ask for my fish from the back...and all that I ever get is a smile and a "sure, no problem, let me get that for you." I prefer to spend money in my own town, but I'm not going back to this place and neither is my wife...We don't need to be rewarding rudeness with our hard-earned dollars.

I grabbed 2 clusters of snow crab legs and just started looking around the store in general to see what they had. I'm not a seafood eater myself, so this place isn't exactly my cup of tea, but I love to come here for the vibes. An hour until close on a Sunday and they told us upon walking up that they were out of a ton of things: clam cakes, fried clams, lobster rolls, even ketchup!! This was really disappointing as most things my dad wanted were on that list, and I was distressed to have to eat my cheesy fries without ketchup (they did offer me a bunch of other sauces - I took them up on tartar sauce - free of charge, but only after I asked and was clearly aghast at them being out of this condiment). Sadly I don't have photos since my phone was out of commission today. My dad ordered clear broth chowder (he said it was just okay - normally he's pretty easy to please with chowder, so I was surprised at the lukewarm review), and a crab cake sandwich, which he said he some good crisp to it but he also seemed kind of lukewarm about. My cheesy fries were drowning in a generous portion of white cheese that I had a hard time placing - it was pretty good but I wasn't in love with the flavor. The tartar sauce helped a bit and they had a good crisp. My favorite thing was the cole slaw - it didn't lean sweet as a lot of them do, and had a mild sauce that wasn't in your face - I really loved it and wish I'd gotten more! Their prices seem a little high for how greasy their food is in general, but I guess that's a true clam shack vibe for you. Their packaging seems a bit wasteful - all orders are packed as if to go, in a thick plastic bag that I saw a lot of people immediately throw out with their trash since they ate on site and didn't need all the packaging, a cafeteria style tray would have done just fine. Well, I can honestly say everything went well. They were running a special for lobster rolls two for 45 and a lot of my group actually got those having and I treated him to a whole belly clam plate which was super reasonable it was like $27. He ate the whole thing which is like amazing cause he had ever finishes wherever we get someplace else I got the clam cakes and white chowder. It was very good. The chat was nice and thick just like I like it. The clam picks were big as you can see from the pictures. I only got three, but I couldn't even finish the three that I had. And that was $12. We ended up being able to sit beside the river and you watched it was beautifully cooling and nice breeze was coming by. It was very peaceful and it made for a good dinner ride from a motorcycle group. They close at 8 o'clock. We got there about seven had no problem being served. Like I said the people that they had super friendly after we came in and we knew they were closing at eight still three more cars came in you know and still they saved wide open and served everybody.
